Navi and Nero Only (SS-Rank Mission)

"Well," said Nero, "firstly there is this technique I just told you about, the one that Echo Uchiha, a Sannin of our village has taught me, which is a technique I believe I have mastered and rely on... Let me show you that really quick. Oh, and thanks to mastering that technique, I have a basic passive wind manipulation ability.

Shit, Navi already knew the technique he was going to use. Echo himself had used the technique in conjunction with Kyuubi in a spar against Navi recently, so he knew the potential of such a move. Navi acted quickly before Nero's speed and wind powers came at him too quickly.

Navi blinked slowly, and then opened his eyes revealing a glowing red symbol in each. With this Navi could immediately ascertain everything about the technique, detecting wind patterns and muscle movements in Nero as he began the charge, and instantly determined how he would move based on where his eyes were looking and what he was targeting.

Without Navi's Raven Style he couldn't match such brilliant speed, but Navi didn't need to match the speed. He had first hand experience against the technique and predicted Nero's movements before he even made them.

"This is my Navagan..." he said, letting his cool gaze and glowing red eyes soak in everything about Nero's power level. As the wind slashes came in Navi could sense the waves that were laced in chakra, and had moved to dodge them accordingly before they even came close to reaching his body. "Your speed and power have undoubtedly grown Nero, however..."

Navi formed a quick handsign as Nero lunged forward at incredible speed. "Before my eyes, such jutsu are useless."

With that a flash of light would blind Nero in a Genjutsu that he would be unable to avoid in his current lunge. As the momentum of the wind carried him forward, Navi would take advantage of Nero's complete inability to see. He stepped forward and held his arm out, causing Nero to inevitably clothesline himself against it and fall hard to the ground.

Navi stood over Nero and looked down at him, actually incredibly impressed that he had learned such a jutsu. Nero might even have it in him to surpass Navi one day if he had mastered such a move at only Chuunin.

"Anything else, or shall we continue with the mission?" Navi looked down at Nero with a hand in his pocket, letting the boy catch his breath after it was all just knocked out of him.

"This is my Navagan..." Navi said, as Nero realised these marks on the eyes of him, "Your speed and power have
undoubtedly grown Nero, however... Before my eyes, such jutsu are useless.". Nero was amazed when Navi easily dodged the arcs of wind he sent. After an instant, he saw a flash, and some more seconds later, after the shock of the first bang, he realised he was still blind. "Anything else, or shall we continue with the mission?" asked Navi, after that technique... "I'm blind !" shouted Nero "Just when will this effect go off ?"... After calming down, still waiting for the effects of this jutsu to go off, Nero continued "Just what was that "Navagan you talked about ? That doujutsu ? Is that something like a bloodline of our clan ? Or did you get those eyes from someone else ?"...

Nero would then think about his past encounters with both the Sharingan and Byakugan, "Damn..." he thought "I guess it matters a lot if you have a doujutsu... Now I know I'll never be able to surpass Navi...". "It's just impossible isn't it... For me to beat you... If I don't investigate your movements carefully, you'll get me in no time... And if I do watch your moves that carefully, you'll just use that jutsu on me, and blind me... Damn... Now I understand why you are an ANBU and I'm still a Chuunin...". Nero was a little depressed now, but he was still looking forward to battle that sea monster...


"Anything else, or shall we continue with the mission? You've asked it, didn't you ? Well, I believe I can show the rest when we battle with the moster... Nothing that important..." said Nero once again, and then he added "And what is this jutsu that blinded me ? And when will the effects go off again ? When I can see again, I believe we can continue...".

Navi sighed as he explained his technique to Nero. "My Navagan allows me to see your entire chakra network, muscle structure, and body heat with a simple glance. With all of that information I can predict how you will move based on muscles that extend, contract or tense up. You moved much faster then me right there, but when I can predict the attack you will make it doesn't take much speed to dodge."

Navi continued by explaining what he had done to Nero. "You're not actually blind, it's simply a genjutsu that tells your brain that you cannot see. It is very difficult to break without being knowledged in Genjutsu. The blindness effect would wear off in 5-10 minutes, which is plenty of time for me to kill, subdue or capture any target."

Navi walked over to Nero and performed a handsign, concentrating a small amount of chakra and placing two fingers on his neck.

Release!

The genjutsu would immediately dissipate for Nero and he would be able to see clearly again. "You're right though, we should rest briefly before taking on the monster. The coastline is nearby and I'm sure we'll be in combat soon."

And it's going to be hard... And, as an answer to you saying we'll be in the battle soon, I'm ready until we first got out from the village's gates...".

"Cool..." said Nero as he continued "So is that a doujutsu for our clan or did you get those eyes ?". Also, thanks for giving me this chance to experience an SS-ranked mission.".

It's a hybrid Kekkei Genkai that is entirely unique to me, the Yamaki blood merely acted as a catalyst for the jutsu to work within me. The only way that others could have this jutsu would be if they were my kids, or they took the eyes from me under special conditions."

"No problem by the way, I know you'll impress and do well in this mission against a monster, I have faith in you as a talented ninja of our Yamaki Clan Bloodline."

Nero then realised Navi released the Genjutsu from him, so Nero could now see again... "Well," said Nero "I suppose I will find a way to surpass those 2 techniques of yours, Navi... Probably... And it's going to be hard... And, as an answer to you saying we'll be in the battle soon, I'm ready until we first got out from the village's gates...".

"That genjutsu I used is a powerful A-rank lightning style genjutsu. It is a little trick to get out of if the target is not well versed in how to deal with it. Both techniques when used in conjunction with one another allow me to defeat nearly any opponent without much effort. When fighting Echo I had the upper hand a couple times, but unfortunately his incredible talent and experience as a shinobi outmatched me when he summoned his Kyuubi chakra."

Navi sighed as he remembered the fight, it had been an incredible scene to watch, but Navi still wished he had more time to do it. Unfortunately Nero wasn't powerful enough to put up a good fight against Navi, despite his exponentially growing talent. Navi was on the path of becoming a Sannin soon, but perhaps Nero would be more of a challenge once he passed the Jounin Exam. Time would tell.

The coast was nearby now, and the fight of the mission was about to begin, by the time Navi walked to the top of a nearby hill he could look out over the entire ocean. The waves extended off into the horizon, and somewhere within that water would be the monster they would have to slay. Navi headed down the hill and started towards the coast. They would be near the water soon, as they had only a little bit further to walk.

Do you think that would work? Also, thank you for believing in me...". Nero was feeling weak all the time when he sas around Navi. The goals of his trainings have recently been changed from surpassing some shinobis to being able to keep up with Navi. But no matter how much he has gotten stronger since their last meeting, Navi once again easily beat Nero, without giving him even a slight chance to show what ehe's worth... Nero watched the direction they were headed to. He could now see th sea, which was most likely the the monster was in according to Nero... He then realised Navi was talking again... "Anway..." continued Nero, "I guess we are going to be there soon, so what is our strategy for the beginning of the battle ? Are we going to wait on the sea until it finds us ?". Navi frowned at Nero, "Unfortunately I do not believe that would work. My eyes were granted to me as a strange fluke, the blood transformation happened for me at a young age when I was at the brink of death, and my genetic material somehow mixed with it. I don't think such a power would be granted to you, even if we injected you with the proper material. These eyes are unique to me alone."

"Oh right, yeah Echo Uchiha. I suppose I should be more formal when I say his name, sorry about that. After our spar it just seems natural to call him by his first name. His name is unique anyway, it's not like there are any other Kyuubi Echo Uchiha's running around that could get you confused."

Navi sighed a little bit as Nero complimented him, Navi was nearly Sanin level, so it was unfair to compare himself to his skill level. There was true potential in Nero, but it had yet to be realized as he was still just a Chuunin.

"You will grow to be truly strong Nero, I believe in your potential as a member of the Yamaki, and as a member of the Hidden Leaf. I've seen many Genin in my day, and many of them have died or been washed away by the tides of war. You do have an incredible talent, and you will surpass your comrades easily."

Navi headed towards the coast, the endless waves over the horizon crashed against the beach of the nearby village, somewhere close the sea monster lurked.

"I guess we are going to be there soon, so what is our strategy for the beginning of the battle ? Are we going to wait on the sea until it finds us ?". Nero waited for an answer, once again drwaing his twin blades from their sheathes, as all of his clones did the same...

Navi pulled two ANBU swords from the sheaths on his back holding one firmly in each hand.

"This monster was seen attacking others, so Im sure it doesn't need much provocation. First we fly around over the ocean, then I'm sure it'll come out."

material. These eyes are unique to me alone." said Navi... Nero understood the situation, and felt a little disappointed, as he then said "Fair enough... I guess I may be able to find another way then...". He then heard Navi speak again "You will grow to be truly strong Nero, I believe
in your potential as a member of the Yamaki, and as a member of the
Hidden Leaf. I've seen many Genin in my day, and many of them have died
or been washed away by the tides of war. You do have an incredible
talent, and you will surpass your comrades easily.". Nero smiled to him and answered "Thank you, Navi... By the way, I'm ready for the battle."...

Nero then saw that Navi has already drawn 2 swords of his.

"This monster was seen attacking others, so Im

Its size, shape, what it looks like, does it have some special abilities ? Any other info that can help us ?". Nero was also watching the sea, expecting to see any kind of clue of the monster's presence.

"Navi..." thought Nero "I bet he knows more about the monster... He at least expects some more things... As much as I know him, he would be well prepared, although I don't think he needs to be, considering his speed, strength, his ability... His jutsus... Not just his gift or his hard work, but he is also too damn experienced... I hope I can keep up with him while fighting the monster... We may have to use soem combos or stuff, after all...". Nero looked up, and started watching the bşue, endless sky with the white clouds flying in a direction... "The weather is on our side..." said Nero, "It would be hard to fight a sea monster in a stormy weather, or just simply windy weather, since there would have been tides long as hell, and it would've been hard to keep up with it, or watch its moves...". Nero then remembered Navi's speacial dojutsu, and added "Well, at least for someone without a doujutsu like a Byakugan, sharingan or yours...". Nero then turned his head once again to the sea, once again expecting too see any kind of clue of the sea monster's presence. He wondered what it looked like, or at least how big it was...

"I don't know," Navi replied, deep in thought. "The monster is massive and scared the villagers, so I'm sure we'll know when we see it.

When Nero and his clones asked about the Raven Style Navi burst into action. "Yes, activate it now," Navi ordered. With a clap of his hands a dense blue aura of chakra surrounded him, growing more intense and radiating raw power from his being. Navi was a master of the Raven Style, and was the only member of the clan as it was that had grown to this level of skill.

After a few moments the atmosphere around Navi became thick with an unbelievable level of chakra. Beautiful blue angelic wings sprouted from his body, and with the opening of his eyes came the red glow of his Navagan. Navi's level of power was glorious, and this was only the first stage of the Raven Style Kekkei Genkai, not including the "Raven Claw" or the "Art of the Light Raven".

In a flash of near untraceable speed Navi was in the air, his angelic wings spread out wide as he flew over the ocean. "COME, NERO!"

With Navi's eyes he could sense body heat, and see thermal energy, essentially being able to detect any living thing within a set radius. With his eyes, he could see it, the serpent monster directly under them. It had two massive heads sprouting from it's snake like body. The creature was unbelievably large by any standards, and moments later, the monster broke through the water's surface and roared at them. One head lunged at Nero and one lunged at Navi.

"Nero! watch out!" Navi barely had time to say the words before the head of the monster was upon him. With a few handsigns Navi blew a stream of intense fireballs, creating a massive explosion as they impacted the head of the monster. This slowed down the momentum of the creature allowing Navi to dodge the monster's head and teeth easier. The fight had begun, and this monster would be difficult to take down.

"Yes, activate it now," Navi ordered. Upon hearing that, Nero released his clones, thinking he wouldn't need them, at least not yet. He was getting ready to use his raven style, as his attention was then attracted by Navi's raven style activation. Nero never saw the jutsu being used by someone else... It looked magnificent when sen from outside... Nero wondered if he looked as magnificent as Navi did when he activated his own Raven Style. He was once again getting ready to activate his raven style, but again, his attention was attracted by Navi. Now he was flying at an amazing speed, which Nero could have slightly gotten when he used the technique taught to him by Echo Uchiha. Then Nero heard Navi shout to him, "COME, NERO!". After some seconds, he realised Navi was looking at the sea...

"He must be checking the water with those crazy eyes he has..." thought Nero "Yep... I'm pretty much useless for now... Or probably for any time, when I'm next to him... He can do everything I do... And more...". Nero was just getting ready to activate his Raven Style. He heard Navi shout "Nero! watch out!" merely a second ago before his Raven Style was activated and he has grown his wings made of chakra. Nero started to lift from the ground, and fly to where Navi was, as Navi blew out continous fireballs gfrom his mouth. Nero dodged them hardly, thanks to the Raven Style's special ability. "I never appreciated this technique..." thought Nero "But it is actually more helpful than nearly all of my jutsu... Probably slightly less helpful than the Blessing Of The Wind God Technique.". Nero, as he arrived near Navi, saw the two gaint heads of the sea moster, getting out of the water just beneath them.

"Holy sh*t !" said Nero "That is not like anything I have ever seen before...". He was shocked, and it could be read from his face even if he didn't say those words... Nero, after getting over the shock, started talking to Nero "O.K., there's two of us and two heads of it... It's better if we split.". Nero knew Navi probably thought that already, or the plan was just dumber than Nero thought. But he was too excited to think it, especially that second. Nero fastly flew towards the monster, as he also sent some slashes of wind towards one of the heads. He had gotten this ability to use wind manipulation without activation of a jutsu, thanks to mastering the Blessing Of The Wind God.

Nero then flew to the opposite direction of Navi, so he seperated the sights of the two heads. "One head each of us !" shouted Nero. Now there was a great distance between them. The head looking at Nero was making direct eye contact with him... It was kind of scary, especially for Nero, because as from Nero's point of view, Navi wasn't even a little scared at all... The head of the monster on Nero's side opened its giant mouth and "screamed" to Nero. It was the worst sound Nero ever heard from a living thing. "Poor creature..." Nero said silently, "Living with that ugliness... I will end it for both the villagers and itself...". Nero really hated the way the creature looked. He wanted to kill it as soon as possible...

Nero was curious about the other side of the monster... Navi had sent some fireballs towards it, and Nero had sent some slashes of wind, but Nero didn't see if any of them hit or the monster dodged them... He then saw the head on his side coming over at him, aiming to... Eat Nero ? Nero was a little scared now, he fastly flew back, and then sent some more slashed towards the open mouth of the ugly creature... Nero didn't send the winds with full attention, they were just the creation of his reactions due to Nero's will to not be eaten by a giant ugly sea monster. Of course, the slashes didn't hurt even the mouth of the monster, a place where Nero thought would be the weakest spot of the monster to be... After seeing that, Nero concentrated on the battle once again, leaping towards the giant head, sending some stronger slashes towards the monster's head... The moster dodged some slashes, and took some hits... Nero also realised it was not that slow for its size, after all... He smiled as he realised this time the slashes caused deeper wounds. He was watching the head on his side with full concentration, but he would also be wondering what was going on on the other side...

Then he smiled, as he thought "It's Navi, after all... What's the worst thing that could happen to him, when fighting a monster that hasn't even hurt me. Yet... But I've got my point, after all...". Nero then remembered the last mission they have gone to, with Navi... The S-Rank mission, Nero's first S-Rank mission... Navi used that over-powered giant fireball to burn the whole house they were sent to kill each member of... Somebody like that, somebody with Navi's eyes, couldn't have gotten harmed even a little by an ugly creature like that one... Well, at least from Nero's point of view... It could also be that Nero overrated Navi, or a little from both... But Nero had complete trust in Navi, and he also knew Navi believed in him, at least he thought so... But it was enough to make Nero try harder... Work harder to accomplish anything... Most of the things he had recently done was to impress Navi, so Nero was going to use all he had while fighting alongside with Navi against this ugly sea monster...

After thinking these things, Nero was even more excited about the battle now, as he was also a lot more concentrated. He knew he couldn't lose... He had to win... He had to show Navi what he was worth...
