A brand new time [Nk]

The sun seemed to shimmer upon them yet the temperature was still somewhat cold, The snow failed to even begin to melt. Crunching noises from the soft powder being disturbed by footsteps could be heard. Sounds always sound harder and harsher when silence was involved before. The sound came from the footsteps of the female known as Rose Heart. This young beautiful girl that stands at a rather tall height of 6"1 and weighs 58Kg. Her form is nimble especially around her waist. Her skin is incredibly pale some even saying snow like which seem to enhance the blue within her sapphire colored eyes. Her hair is placed in a bob like cut yet too long for the proper shape thus is also tied in a pony tail right at the back, Unusual coloring for the hair is the lilac like pink. Wrapped around her neck is a multiple hoop necklace black in color given to her by her grandmother.

Her upper half under garment is black t-shirt with a crescent meshing collar. Over that is a maroon colored open kimono like top which opens at an angle, the seems and sleeve seems are a white and black color. Her shorts are black in color and rather tight and these are covered in a fabric with the same hoop like pattern as her grandmothers necklace. a chain with 3 kunai's are wrapped around her right side. Her pouch is on her right side and her holster is on her left leg. covering her ankles up to her joint is a brownish stocking and of course the basic shinobi sandals. Her hands are gloved while she bears bracelets on each side with hoops similar to her grandmothers necklace. Weapons were all in their appropriate place. A cloak of red was utilized to keep her slightly warmer.

She was currently heading in the direction of the store having to purchase some items, due to her previous life she was in fact a missing ninja from Sunagakure, her original homoe being the land of iron this young woman had restored her life in this place. Though she had begun to feel as if something was missing. Snuggling up to her cloak she was hoping to get to the shop before possibly training. It looked as though the weather would remain how it was cold yet static. The light white clouds drifted forward softly.

A new figure entered the land of iron, the identity of this figure? Shinji Uzumaki, a former Tenkage. The 18 year old man's spiky blonde hair had grown to be a bit unwieldy from his travels after being constantly battered by the winds that plagued the wastes between the nations. He had recently departed from the land of the moon as an exile betrayed by his own village. The decision to come to the land of iron was a simple one-it was a neutral land after all. Furthermore Shinji had been here once before for the gokage summit. Oddly enough he was now back, but as a wanted man. The Uzumaki idly hoped that he would be safe here for a while until he figured out what he had to. Upon physically entering the village Shinji felt as if a bit of the weight was off his shoulders. Now all he had to do was find some more suitable clothing.

Currently he wore what remained of his tattered traveling cloak that dropped to the ground and served to cloak his 6'1" body. The cloak itself was speckled with mud that made the brown cloak even browner and the bottom of the cloak had become frayed from use. Underneath this cloak he wore a long sleeved white shirt with the crimson emblem of the Uzumaki clan emblazoned on the front. Luckily the shirt itself was rather warm, but the same could not be said for the baggy black pants Shinji wore, the wind went right through them save for the one weapon pouch that adorned the upper right thigh of the Uzumaki. Much like his pants, his sandals were in a state of sad disrepair from the long trek to the land of Iron. To top off Shinji's miserable appearance the headband of Tengakure hung, plastered in mud, around his neck.

With all this in mind the Uzumaki had one goal: find some better clothes, especially considering the rather cool weather. Moving through the town with swift yet steady strides Shinji tried to keep his gaze down at the ground in hopes of not getting noticed. However, this naturally led to a bit of a vision problem. Thus as the Uzumaki rounded a corner he unknowingly put himself on a collision course with another who, unbeknownst to him was named Rose Heart, were the girl not to notice or take proper action she would find herself in a rather awkward situation as Shinji would walk right into her as the two crossed paths. Normally Shinji would have noticed, however today was anything but normal. He had been traveling for days and had gotten very little sleep. Yes, even kage were humans and they, like all humans, had their limits-Shinji was near his.

She had finally reached the main part of the village of this beautiful place, She adored the snow and it was indeed a fabulous sight. She loved how it reminded her of Christmas, Though not in Sunagakure but when she and her family went to the land of tea for a christmas vacation this is how it looked. Perhaps her birth place had more of an impact on her than she thought it would. With her cloak trailing behind her as she walked, Rose would of course be in awe of the small wooden cabins that made up this village unlike others this truly was a place seemingly un-touched by time. The snow now littered with foot prints due to the fact this area was far more crowded than the area from which she had came due to her remote living.

Though she had now been within the land for around two weeks and had become a regular in the village, The small elderly couple whom lived in the cutest log cabin waved to her, She would wave back before staring down. She had stolen from them when she first arrived not much though some food and shampoo but she could never bring herself to tell them. She had become rather fond of some of the lovely people here in fact it was a home that she had been looking for. Yet as a shinobi the thrill of a shinobi's life was missing. Yet this would seem to be changing, for fate would soon push her and another shinobi together...literally. For due to her shame she had placed her head downward and continued her walk.

She would feel the bump before seeing whom she had walked into, Both having there heads slightly lowered would mean they had no choice but to collide....and sadly both were around the exact same height which would place both heads in the same position....and thus forcing the heads to collide. Well headbutting each other would be a dangerous thing but more so for the weaker ninja whom would of course fall backwards into the snow. The thump of her bum striking the ground would be dampened by the soft snow that must have fallen the night before. Whether the male fell over or not her reaction would be the same, Her mouth would first begin to open yet no sound would come out. Her blue piercing eyes would simply be glued to the man in front of her.

Frozen for a few seconds but why? This man reminded her of herself only weeks ago, When she had came to this neutral zone to recover and relax, Her clothing almost destroyed and her body at breaking point, sure this male looked much better than she had but it was obvious he had traveled a long way. Shaking her head her words finally came out. "You poor thing you must be frozen" she said as she pulled herself to her feet. The clasps would un-clip from her rather furry cloak, ideal for keeping the heat in and added a lot more protection from the cold, As she pulled it forward she would hand it softly to the man. "Please accept my cloak, I should have watched were i was walking" she said in a twinkling voice.

Yes, it was true, no one wins in a headbutt. As the young woman fell to the ground Shinji felt himself unconsciously recoil at the impact and his left hand spring up to his head feeling for a bump. Finding none the Uzumaki gave his head a quick shake and glanced down at the person he had accidentally walked into with his odd colored eyes, the right one a coal black and the left a ghostly white. At this point in time the woman had just gotten up and looked at him for a few seconds. In this time frame Shinji did what came naturally to him as a shinobi: he sized her up. Of course he had no intention of starting a fight with her, rather it was an exercise that had become a hardwired habit. The first thing that struck Shinji was that the woman was rather pretty and stood at much the same height as him, in fact they could see eye to eye, which led the former kage to the most interesting aspect of the woman: her eyes. Oddly they reminded Shinji of his old eyes. He had once had bright blue eyes much like hers, but replaced them with the eyes of the two legendary doujutsu clans: the Uchiha and the Hyuuga, power was an ugly thing. Seeing the woman's eyes surprisingly sent a pang of acute regret through his body.

However, this regret did not show outwardly in the least as the woman expressed her.....pity? Yes, it was pity, or at least Shinji believed it was. Naturally this led to a slight redish tint to appear in the former kage's cheeks-he was not very used to pity, or kindness, from anyone. In his time as kage he had to official and in control at all times, no one pitied him in the least back then. When the woman offered him her cloak and a few kind words Shinji's mouth opened about ready to decline, but thinking better of it he took the cloak, which he quickly threw over his shoulders making sure to quickly cover up the headband of Tengakure with it. Not wanting to sit there with his mouth gapping like an idiot, the Uzumaki spoke up in a friendly warm voice that may have very well been able to melt the snow that blanketed the ground, "Well then it would seem that we are both at fault then as I was not looking where I was going either......Also, there is no way I can simply accept this cloak from you in good conscience." Pausing for a second a rather bashful smile flashed across Shinji's face, which was quickly erased as he continued talking, "If you could possibly point out the nearest store where I could pick up some new clothes I would be grateful and I could get your cloak back to you as soon as possible.....I'll be honest I am a bit new here and have no idea where I am going." Allowing a quick nervous smile to pass over his face the Uzumaki waited for a response and realized for the first time how cold he had really been, the warm cloak that he now wore made that readily apparent.

Do not mistake her, For when the cloak was flung over the males form her eyes shifted to the clasps which tie around ones neck, This meant her eyes met with the headband yet for a lowly genin like herself she did not know of the symbol which graced it. This was a neutral land though thus she did not wish to start anything by asking many questions. Instead she would slowly shake her head as the male spoke about her cloak, "Oh please there is no rush to get it back, You see im afraid your out of luck in the clothes department, Mr Rex whom runs the clothing store passed away two days ago. it still hasn't re-opened." she said softly. Yet talking about death her smile would fail to falter. Instead she would simply run a hand through her hair and move the loose strand to the right behind her ear.

"If you would be so kind i was heading to the bar, Id be grateful for the company, A nice warm drink and a conversation about whatever always makes me happier. And then when your all warm i may have some clothes back at my house that may fit you, They may not be fashionable but they will be warm" she said ever so softly. With that she would nod to the man smiling ever so gently and begin to head in the direction of the largest wooden cabin. "So ya coming" she said gently turning to face the man.

It would seem luck was not on Shinji's side today, well at least in the clothing department, which caused his brow to furrow ever so slightly in frustration. However, upon hearing the woman's friendly invitation there was no way he could reject her without feeling like a complete jerk. As a result Shinji allowed a warm smile to spread across his face and responded to the woman's question, "Of course I am coming, the pleasure would be all mine, I couldn't turn down a drink even if I tried. Please, lead the way." At this point the Uzumaki would proceed to follow the girl to the bar. As the two covered the short distance Shinji figured it would be ok to tell the woman his name, surely he was not famous or anything. In the back of his mind this whole situation felt off perhaps it merely the fact that the former kage very rarely had much social interaction outside the required political niceties, but it felt off all the same. Naturally, as the two figures neared the bar, Shinji would lengthen his stride in an attempt to pass the woman. If successful he would reach the door first and pull open the heavy oaken door aside for woman. If common courtesy was the least he could do at this point then he would do it and allow the woman to enter the bar first.

Smiling softly as the male agreed to come have a drink with her, The young female would continue her stride at the same pace. Her smile widening as she witnessed the male speed up to over take her. Male Bravado perhaps? Nope it would be answered that he was simply a gentleman whom moved slightly faster simply to open the door for her. As he did she would give a twinkling smile and a little bow. "Why thank you kind sir, Looks like i found me a gentlemen" She said giggling as she entered the bar. This bar was somewhat a traditional tavern inside looking like the outside with hunted animals upon the wall. Though this was not her usual scenary Lucy knew that it was the best place for a drink to get warm AND they didn't ID. That was a big plus for her considering she was only 17 years old. First of all they would need a table.

As she turned her head her eyes would divert straight to her booth....were some punks were currently occupying it. Now she had made it obviously clear the last time she was here that the booth belonged to her. It was right by the heater so it had the best heat. Those punk kids knew that and as soon as they locked eyes upon the female the smiles upon there faces vanished. Scrambling to get out of the booth they would soon be rushing by the female apologizing as they left. She would not say anything in return but only smile that twinkling smile. Walking directly towards her booth she would sit down as the waitress came to her. "Oh Lucy were ya been hiding this beefcake" The waitress would say. "Ill tell you when you come back with my drink" Lucy said giggling yet her face blushed a tinted red. "And whatever this gentlemen is having on my tab please Cindy" Lucy would say smiling. Once the man ordered whatever he was having Cindy would of course bound away happily. "How rude of me, Im such a ditz i totes forgot to ask your name, Im Lucy by the the way, Lucy Heart" she said to the male.

Gentleman, now there was something Shinji had never been called before though it did bring an almost wry smile to his face as he followed the young woman into the rather homey log cabin of a bar. Quickly glancing around the room, Shinji took particular interest in the various trophies of the hunt that adorned the walls, he then followed the girl to the booth. Oddly people seemed to scatter from the area as the two made their way to a decidedly warmer part of the room, which was a pleasant change from the rather frigid outdoors. Shinji noted that the group of people scattering also seemed to apologize to the girl as they ran like scared mice, yes something was off here. Keeping this idle paranoia in the very back of his mind, Shinji slid into the booth seat across from the pink haired woman.

At this point the waitress came over and after a short bit of banter between the two women Shinji was able to gather that the person sitting across from him was named Lucy. When came time for him to order something the Uzumaki did not have to think long or hard and in a smooth voice ordered, "I will have a cup of orange tea, please." Yes, Shinji was in a bar and he did not order something alcoholic. This was his personal preference, after some prior experiences with alcohol the Uzumaki decided that he did not much like that rather detrimental effects it had on one's body. Plus he had a rather low tolerance to the stuff and, all things considered, he did not feel too comfortable not having his full awareness.

After ordering he would turn back to the young woman who sat across from him and for the first time noticed the unique beauty she possessed. It was at this point that the girl revealed her full name, Lucy Heart. Nodding ever so slightly Shinji figured now was a good a time as any to introduce himself, "Well, it is nice to meet you Lucy. My name is Shinji Uzumaki." At this point the former kage's voice took a more joking manner as he continued, "So, those people who were sitting here before....are they friends of yours?" To highlight his jovial tone a bemused look formed on the young man's face as he looked at the girl across from him.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Shinji Uzumaku", Naturally she had heard of the surname, The first name not so much but the Uzumaki descendants were known for the powerful Fuinjutsu abilities. Combining that knowledge with the headband she had seen it was thus simple to deduce that the male in front of her was a ninja. But to be perfectly honest every were you turned people were ninjas. Thankfully the symbol was not of Sunagakaure otherwise this would become a whole different meeting.

As to the question of the young punks Lucy would only scoff. "We had our differences when i arrived here...they thought it was a good idea to try to mug a poor defenseless woman, Sadly for them i wasn't defenseless" Lucy said smiling softly as her drink came. So this bar never i.d'd and she liked the odd drink but she loved this more. The drink would come in a rather large china mug while the liquid inside was un-identifiable. You see the cream spirals covered it all while chocolate sprinkles took over the cream and a large chocolate flake rested in the cream. OH YEAH HOT CHOCOLATE. Smiling as she took a lick of the cream she would nod at Cindy who would leave after granting the Uzumaki his own drink. "So Mr Uzumaki, your a ninja?" she said bluntly.

A fleeting smile passed over Shinji's face as Lucy implied that she beat the punks up. However, after accepting his cup of orange tea, this smile turned to a stone cold grimace as Lucy asked if he was a shinobi. Furrowing his brow ever so slightly the Uzumaki responded with a oddly thoughtful tone, "Please call me Shinji, I suppose I was a ninja at one point, but I do not really think I am one now.......Things change, no?" It was in this moment that Shinji noted he was not really a shinobi, when was the last time he did anything remotely shinobi like? Even in his time as kage he had become more of a political figure than anything else, hell he couldn't even protect his own village. He hadn't gone on a mission or trained for that matter in a long time, was he slipping? If this was true then did he really deserve to take back Tengakure as he planned? These thoughts slowly gnawed on the former kage's mind as he took a sip from his tea, even its taste seemed dulled. Not a single emotion passed over the Uzumaki's face as he sat there. All of a sudden Shinji felt cold again, but not physically, no. Rather emotionally, he had no home now, he had been exiled from it. Perhaps it was the realization of the gravity of the situation that finally weighed on his mind, even Shinji himself did not know.
