Oh, the boy thought he was smart with his fancy vocabulary. From his days in the academy, even Kozai knew that a dodecahedron was was a twelve sided polyhedron. But... how was he to form one out of nearly liquid mud? Perhaps the boy meant for him to solidify it. Scooping up a handful of mud, he would force his chakra brutally into it, forcing it to snap and confine itself into a twelve sided polyhedron. It would solidify, the water inside confining itself to the sole interior of the shape, leaving a solid dry-mud object there in his hand.

Ah, now it was clear. Kozai would bend down, scooping up another hand full of mud. The goopy stuff near the leader chambers was of a thick consistency, which probably meant that it was of a somewhat high concentration of clay, maybe detritus and biological humus as well. Regards less of the soil composition, however, it was still by far the absolute representation of base earth itself. How disgusting. Kozai would most certainly have to sterilize his hands afterwards. The time and effort that it would take him to do that, however, was pretty much negligible. So, it really did not matter.
He would blast the mud with his chakra once more, feeling the enrgy filling the earth. This time, he wouldn't focus so much on the results lack of fluidity so much as the presence of its constant, solid volume. He needed to stop thinking so much about the suit on that he had been using for all his life and start focusing on the novel and the brand new. However, he felt that he was learning doton pretty quickly, which was good. He didn't feel like he had much time, so he tried to learn for the future.
At this point, the mud had shaped, then coalesced into a dodecahedron of flawless proportion. "So... is that better?" It felt awkward speaking this way to such a low ranking ninja, but Kozai did not dislike it in particular. He had to do what he had to do here indeed.

Ah, so this was the principle that he had been looking for. Kozai had never liked getting up and close with his opponents, it contained far more risks than a ranged battle. However, with his speed and strength, it wasn't a bad idea at all, as physical attacks could very well blow someone away completely. If he took it into this mind that this boy should lose his liver and kidneys, he could probably do it with a couple of swift and powerful punches. However, it wasn't even a good idea. Kozai needed the information that the boy could provide... and the possible benefits that he could reap.
At this point, he would reach out with his chakra, and as he did so, the mud a few feet to his right would begin to bubble and churn. He would turn, stretching his hand toward it, and straining his chakra system toward a higher level. He suddenly realized that, as he was learning a new element, that he would actually have to try and do well. It had been so long since he had been honestly training... it felt good to get back into shape. Maybe he would have to ask this boy to come spar with him at some point.
He could show Mitsui the wonders of the beautiful blue planet that they were on... and the power of the shining stars! Even the discover the secret of power that resided within the boy's own threads.
He could give the boy what he wanted... but Kozai needed to be sure that the boy was good material. From what he had seen so far... he would just have to keep watching. The mud would finish bubbling, coalescing once again into the form of the chosen dodecahedron. To Kozai's mind, this shape was a bit too simple, and he would prefer something more complex. So, he created something similar to a torus, the donut shaped earth coming together quickly. "I think I'm getting the hang of it. Are there any final lessons that you wish to teach, or are we done here?"

Kozai nodded, acknowledging the genin. Cutting rocks at long range... now, here was more of the essence of doton. Earth wasn't just talking about the ground beneath your feet, or even in a radius around you. It was just rocks, dirt, mud in general. Even entire mountains could be destroyed with more powerful doton, Kozai realized. Whole villages could be sunk beneath the earth, should a doton user take out the time and chakra to manipulate such a large volume and mass of earth. Well, it looked like this would have to be the final challenge for him to learn this element.
Kozai nodded at a rather phallic looking structure of rock a few meters to his right. Ugh, how disgusting. Some of Iwa's rock structures, though naturally formed, were particularly gross and undesirable. "I'll slice that one in half." He would say to the genin, as he focused his chakra toward it. He had to... feel the particular rock that he was going to cut. Envision.... then seperate. The rock would shudder slightly, then the top part would fall off, leaning as it reached its edge, then falling to the ground. "Well then, I think I've got the hang of this." He would turn to the genin, raising an eyebrow. "Now, I think I should give you more... intricate, private details of your mission. That is, unless you're too tired or bored to stick around." Seeing how this particular male was, that probably wouldn't be the case, it seemed.

Kozai would take out a piece of paper from his lab coat, and write on it. It would read:
"Go to the villages of Shimagakure, Amegakure, and Yukigakure. Recon their surroundings, and note if they are suitable for settlement. Note resource abundancy, fauna composition, and climate. Especially, note the population of the host villages, and their relative hostilities. Give me the names and capabilities of their leaders. In whatever you do, do not mention me, or your true purpose there; everything must seem like a proper survey. Watch for Echo, who may also call himself Kuushou. If you can, give me any information you find on him as soon as possible. Finally, keep an out for doujutsu: unusual eyes with chakra-based capabilities. Record information about them, and if you can, acquire as many as you can for me without raising the ire of anyone. This is your mission, should you choose to accept it."
With that, he turned to the boy, and threw the paper at him. "Those are the details of your mission. They are also your receipt and payment for teaching me doton." With that, he would turn, his white lab coat swirling. Now, he had would have a man in the field, one who could give him information while he prepared. Without a second glance, he would body flicker back to his office, where he would sit down, and look at a map. Hmm, the boy would probably have tired feet after this journey, would he not?
