Royal Emissary (M, Thorfinn)

cole was called to the mission briefing room. It was fairly early and cole was wondering what kind of mission they would have him on now. He had been doing a lot of missions lately, but he figured that it was all good with the higher ups in the village showing them that he was ready for bigger missions. He didn't know what the mission was about. He was awoken to a carrier hawk telling him to come to the mission briefing room for his new mission. Once their cole walked into a room with a man standing in the front of a few chairs. The man was wearing the normal chuunin flak jacket and matching pants and sandles. He had slicked back hair and looked like he didn't really want to be here, but cole knew that most chuunin was like that from his experience. He had learned the hard way that most chuunin are powerful ninja at least more powerful than he was, and they had saw a few things out in the wild on their missions. Cole didn't take nothing by it when most of them looked tired and ready to get some rest, but that was the job of the shinobi. It was to endure so others would not have to, or that's what coles dad had told him and it was what cole believed as well.


Cole walked into the room and the man told him to take seat that their was one more coming for the mission as well. Cole thought that it was cool that he was starting to get partners on missions now. It was a sign that he was getting stronger and was that much closer to becoming a chuunin himself. After all if the mission is hard enough that you need a partner than it has to have some danger to it cole thought to himself. Cole would sit their until his partner came in and would wait on the mission briefing to begin after introducing himself to his partner if he hadn't meet them already. If he had he would ask how they was and do a bit of catch up as they sat down.

Thorfinn woke up, he had a had a mission the night before. He had probably been over confident in his ability to complete missions in a quick amount of time. But nonetheless he had anotherone today. This one was significantly more important, he was getting prepared. Eating a large breakfast of eggs sausage and toast. He burnt the toast terribly but didn’t have enough to bread to make more. So Thor choked the toast down and walked out the door.

He had to get to the meeting but this time he was prepared. He walked slowly savoring every steep. He could help someone. He walked down the Main Street with his head held high. When he arrived at the office the man invited him in and they got down to buissness.

The mission was simple enough, guard some prick from another country from thugs called the jaws of grima. Thor maid a special note to read up on them. Then he realized how absent minded he had been. He looked up from the mission briefing and said hello to the partner on this mission. He easily recognized him as the boy from last night cole. That’s what his name was. Thor looked at him and said “Howdy long time no see” sarcastically. Then he got back to the task at hand.he listed to the man and then after the meeting was over said goodbye. Before running away to his home to prepare. 

He grabbed his flak jacket and his kuni then headed out. He arrived at the specified location and then waited for the boy.

Get pranked I wouldn’t leave you hanging

Cole sat in the room waiting for his partner he was wondering who it was going to be. When the blond haired man he had done the mission with last night walked into the room. The mans name was thorfin but everyone just called him Thor at least that's what he said anyways. Thor walked in and looked at cole “long time no see” thor said with a hint of sarcasm. Cole took it in stride and remained seated giving thor a nod of the head. The briefing was quick their was some royalty that got lost in the woods and there is a group called the jaws of Grima that has a real hate for the royalty of hoshi, so they are sending some ninjas out to find them and bring them back safe. Sounds easy enough cole thought to himself as he got up after the briefing. He would look at Thor meat at the village gate in 1 hour. With that cole would walk out. He didn't need to get anything but he was hungry, and it looked like thor needed some time to gather his stuff. Cole walked down the street and to the local ramen shop were he ordered a large bowl of ramen cole sat at the shop and eat his bowl of pork ramen. After he about 30 minutes of eating and talking with the shop owner cole walked down to the gate. It was getting close to noon now, and cole figured that it was the best time to head out. With the sun at the fullest and that they should probably start by tracking the trail that the Nobels was suppose to take and seeing were they went off track at.



Cole would arrive at the gate and lean against the wall waiting on Thor. If thor was their first cole would tell him his plan of action and if thor agreed they would head off.

Thor arrived at his flat and grabbed what he expected to need. He had one of his two weapon pouches and strapped it to the back of his belt. With his five shuriken in the pouch. Then he put on his flak jacket. Thor had recently bought it and found it quite comfortable. Thor put his kuni into their separate pouches hoping to minimize noise. Then tied his headband around his neck and slipped his ring slowly onto his right hand. Twisting it so the matte finish showed. He on the way out grabbed a few meters of wire and clipped it to the side of his belt. 4 meters to be exact.

Thor walked up to the local store and grabbed some food. A dozen granola bars and 4 bottles of fruit juice. These were slipped into his jacket and then Thor started to jog to the gate. He arrived before the boy and waited. 

When the boy arrived Thor started to speak.” Well I haven’t changed much since we last met but I do have some different gear. I have 5 kuni and shuriken, a few meters of wire and my sword.” Then Thor tapped his ring to indicate that it was his sword.” So far my plan is one of us is the advance guard and walks ahead of the carriage looking for hostiles while the other stands guard on top of the carage.” Thor Thor would stand there waiting for the boy to detail his plans or say anything about the plan. Thor wasn’t opposed to a different viewpoint and was actually quite open to one. 

Once they finished their conversation Thor lead the way towards the client. When they arrived Thor would open the door to the carriage and flash the man his headband. Then close it and start talking to cole. “Ok let’s finalize our plan” once they were done Thor would open the carriage door and start talking to him. “Hello sir my name is thor” Then bow. 

He would continue talking. “ Do you have any special requests or notes we should be aware of.” Then in a joking tone “ Also what is your blood type and next of kin” then give a slight chuckle and say” honestly sir I’m predicting this as a very smooth ride and I promise you will be taken care of as well as possible. Would you like a grape varietal as you have had a quite long journey.” If the man responded yes Thor would chuckle and toss him a grape juice. 

Thor would then turn to Cole and say “ok now let’s get to work.” Thor walked up to the driver and said “hello my name is thor, are there any concerns that you personally have?” Once he answered Thor and Cole would start to put their plan in motion. Thor would ask the boy once again “ anything we need to discuss” If the boy responded no then they would go thor following the plan to a tee hoping that no action would truly be necessary.

Cole and thor left the village following the path the royals was meant to take. It didn't them long to fine were they went off the path at. Someone had put a sign up for a detour that the bridge was out. Cole figured that it was a trap for the nobals and picked up the pace a bit. After all their was no bridge from this point to hoshi. Cole lead the way with thor right behind him the hole time till they came across the wagon. It was a fancy wagon like you expect. Nice carving in the wood, and the royal seal carved into both doors. It had a nice wooden top and looked very sturdy like it could take a beaten. Cole thought that it was a good thing to cause their was no telling were the enemy was that set up the trap. Cole and thor went down to the wagon and introduced their selfs as shinobi from hoshi and that they was here to get them back to the village. Thor told cole his plan and cole thought that it would work one walk up front in front of the cart while they other rode on top of the cart. Cole volunteered to be the front man and lead the way if thor would ride on the top and keep an eye out. Cole knew that he was faster than thor and could get back if needed.


Cole watched as thor went up and talked to royalty in the wagon and gave them something to drink he then talked to the driver and kinda pointed at cole. He figured that he was telling him to follow cole, and didn't think much about it. Cole stayed about 20 feet in front of the wagon at all times. When they started to move cole kept up pace moving at a pace of 40 speed. Enough that the horses and driver wouldn't have a hard time keeping up with. While not bouncing the royals around in the wagon. It was when they got back to the sign that they ran into trouble. 4 man 2 wielding swords, and 2 looking like they may know some jutsu. Were walking down the road to were cole and thor had found wagon. The moment they saw cole they drew weapons and attacked with out warning. With out hesitation cole pulled his bone sword out of his left shoulder. “guard the wagon ill take 2 you get they other 2” he would yell out, as he backed up to meet with thor on the battle field. Cole was pretty sure that he could take all 4 but it wouldn't be easy, but he was prepared he had never saw thor fight and was not sure if he was up to the task.

Thor and Cole walked out to the wagon and started on their journey. It seemed rather calm for a moment till he heard the yell of Cole. He looked out and saw the ninja. He grabbed a grape juice and drank it quickly before sticking a handout backwards to stop the driver. He saw Cole running and got to work. He tied a double think knot onto the carage door hoping to give the man some extra protection. Then he looked at the ninja for the first time. There were 4 in total. Two with wepons two without. This confused Thor as why were two of them coming without weapons. But he figured they were dangerous in their own right.

“I’ll take the two with no weapons, you get the others.” Then Thor transformed his ring into the large blade. He then held it with one arm on his shoulder, then made a tiger handsign and ran at the men. When he got within 5 meters he would release a burst of chakra and immobilize one of them. Then turn his attention to the next. Grabbing a 4 shuriken he threw them using the shadow shuriken jutsu. The sets of shuriken flew towards their mark. As they got within 6 feet Thor lunges at them with the massive blade. Then hits them directly in the liver while the shuriken fly straight and sink into his upper forearm and the other flies past taking off two of his fingers. 

Thir pulls out his he sword blood gushing onto his pants, he pulls out a rag from his pocket and starts to clean his blade meticulously. Once clean he transforms it back into ring form and look to Cole. If his fight was done Thor would walk back to the carage slowly and untie the knot. Then open the door and say, “actions over sir”. Then Thor would turn back to Cole and say “Ok good job, let’s get them back into hoshi and get something to eat.” Then chuckle trying to lighten the mood. 

If Cole didn’t finish his fight Thor would look over to him and watch trying to help, he just wasn’t ready to deal with them. Thor wasn’t as fast as Cole and even had trouble keeping up some times. Then after the fight finished Thor would walk over and do what had to be done. Heal Cole or attack his killers. 

Once all was done Thor would start leading them back to hoshi. Slowly and methodically talking to Cole about what he wanted to eat.” When we get back I’m taking you out to eat, you and I have earned this. I think a nice steak rare with daikon and horse radish. But I’m open to suggestions, what do you like to eat.” Listening intently due to food being his safe place. An escape from the world around him. The flavors reminded him of experiences, the first steak he ever had was when a rich aristocratic took him in for a while, they went out to eat and the man ordered Thor’s bright red with daikon. Thor ate the whole thing and asked for wine, this was the first time he drank but was hooked.

Cole saw Thor head to the enemies, so cole did the same with his bone sword in hand. The first one came with a downward swing. That cole dodges with ease and sliced up the mans torso with his bone sword. While spinning around his body at a speed of 80 far beyond what the man could see. Cole then stabbed the man in the heart letting him fall over so he could see thor dealing with they other 2. Cole wanted to take his out fast so that he could make sure that thor would be ok. This was the first real fight or any fight for that matter that he had saw thor in, and wanted to make sure he was able to help if needed. Thor though handled it like a champ and almost killed his 2 as fast as cole did.



They then returned back to the wagon were thor undid the note he put on the door. He told them everything was fine and then told the driver to follow them they would lead them back to the village. On the walk back thor offered to feed cole steak, and cole would accept the offer with kind. Cole had never had steak before and wondered if it was going to be good or not. His father liked it so he figured that it was probably pretty good then. The rest of the trip back to hoshi would go easy and they would arrive in a matter of 30 minutes.

After Thor dispatched his enemies as did cole, then they started walking. They arrived rather quickly and then he and Cole started to walk away but not before Thor got to watch the wagon. It went slowly down one of the side roads towards the castle, he wondered where the man came from and why. What was so important that he couldn’t send it by bird to the queen. Speaking of the queen where was she, Thir hadn’t seen royalty or even met a member of the royalty’s help. But mabey he just wasn’t privy to that information yet, someday he would reach that level. Someday he would be truly happy.

Then Thor turned to the wagon and yelled “Goodbye your lordship thank you for traveling hoshi land. Come again and tell them to ask for Thor if you need an escort back.” Then flash a large smile and turn to Cole. “ I’m not dressed for a nice dinner and I don’t think you are either. No offense but wearing your dinner clothes on a mission would be a mistake.” Then think, “I don’t know your situation so if you want to go change you can, I need to. But this meal is my treat so be sure to eat up.” Then wait for him to answer and start to think. “Ok, I’m going to change if you want to run home and change meet me at this restaurant.” Then Thor would hand him a hastily scribbled but ledgeble scrap of paper with the address of a nice restaurant. 

Then Thir would dash off and start to get changed, he wore his nice black tuxedo and combed his hair back into a nice slick back. Then washed his face and walked out the door. He left behind everything but his ring hoping they could have a nice meal and enjoy the company of one of his closest friends in hoshi.

 He arrived at the restaurant and waited outside for the boy, when he arrived they would walk up to the counter. He would then gave them a fake last name due to him not really having one. Then they were seated immediately and he placed his coat on the back of his chair. He ordered a glass of red wine and started to drink it. Slowly sipping it and savoring the flavor. He told cole “Order whatever you want my treat.” When the waiter came around Thor ordered a t bone steak with the the seared mahi tuna and a side of potatoes au gratin. “Umm the steak and tuna rare.” The man protested and told him that he should probably get it medium rare. “No sir I want rare, you wouldn’t question me on my other choices so why this one.” Then sigh “I want the steak and tuna rare, that is all” then turn to coke and field any questions he had, if he had none Thor would sit there while he ordered and asses his choices.

Once the royalty was gone and the mission was over cole was going to head home. When thor stopped him and said that he was going to take them both out to eat at some fancy restaurant. Cole had never been to a fancy restaurant and didn't really have much to wear to one. When thor said he was going to go home and change cole figured that he should probably put a shirt on then. Thor gave cole the directions to the place and they split up. Cole went back to his house and walked up the stairs to his bedroom. Cole opened his closet and pulled out his black pants and white V neck tee shirt. Cole changed into the black pants. They was a bit big on him and slacked in the legs and crouch, and then put the shirt on. The V in the neck of the shirt came almost down to between his peck muscles, and clearly showed off his collar bone and the muscles in his neck and shoulders, but the waist and everywhere else was also big and baggy on him. After cole slid his boots back on and walked back down stairs.


Once he was down stairs cole told his mom that a friend was taking him out for dinner as a celebration of completing their mission, and not to leave him any dinner out to night. Cole walked over to were thor had told him to meet at and saw thor standing their waiting on him. Thor was wearing a tux and then cole started to feel a little uneasy about it just by the way Thor was dressed compared to cole. Thor lead cole in the door and told the man at the podium by the door that he was Thor made up last name, and that they had a reservation. The man lead them over to a table off by the side with two chairs. Cole grabbed the menu and started to look it over. He ordered a coke before the waiter walked off, and then noticed that he had no idea what half of the stuff on the menu was. He didn't want to look stupid though so he just kept his mouth shut about it and just picked something at random that sounded good. When the waiter came back with their drinks thor ordered a T bone stake and tuna, and then got into a small disagreement with the waiter before the waiter just did what Thor said. When the waiter turned to cole to order. Cole looked him in the eye and said ill take the chicken parmesan please. Cole had hopped that he had picked something good he was hungry and he had told his mom not to leave anything out.



Cole would eat his dinner with Thor and have small talk over it, and would like the chicken parmesan. After he would thank Thor for the meal and tell him that they should do another mission sometime before heading out for the night. Cole had a lot of training to get done before the chuunin exames which was just around the corner. Cole had a lot of training to get done before the chuunin exames which was just around the corner, and wanted to get up early in the morning for some more training. He would invite Thor to come to the training grounds and they could spar or something if he wanted to. Weather or not thor said yes or no cole will turn around and leave for his house after telling thor he had to go. The walk home would be nice and quit with the moon high in the sky by now as it was getting late.
