To Make a Weapon... (Private) Empty To Make a Weapon... (Private)

Mon Sep 24, 2018 11:11 pm
Dante was in the midst of walking through the forests in territory that he had never been through before though had heard through connections contained one of the things that he had been searching for for quite a while. He had been looking around, finding only trees and grass so far, as he was looking specifically for stones of some sort that he could possibly dig into and find treasures of all sorts. He had heard that a certain steel that could be mined was only around these parts which caused him to feel that he was going to be looking for a needle in a haystack once he actually found any stones or boulders or anything. He was having no luck so far, though, which made him a little bit peeved, as he decided to take to the tops of the surrounding trees so that he'd have at least a bird's eye view to try and have a bit more better field of view. He ran up to a tree and began channeling chakra through the soles of his feet as he began to run upwards the trunk to reach the top as he hopped through the leaves and landed on top of them as he was now a good few 100 feet up in the air.

Upon reaching the top of the tree he looked around to the ground below to try and see his way past the trees to see if there was anything that might have been worth his time. So far he wasn't having much in the way of luck so he started to hop from tree top to tree top as he made his way to different parts of the forest while keeping a close eye on the ground below. After exploring for a few minutes he saw the ground slowly becoming littered with stones as he nodded upon seeing each of them and fell down to the ground as he wound up landing on his feet before one of the stones he had seen. One of these stones HAD to contain the material that he had been searching for. They just had to based on the information that had been given to him by his contacts. He took a deep breath as he took off a pack that he had brought with him as he took a look inside in order to find the mining materials. He brought out a pickaxe made for stone mining as he walked up to the stone and began swinging the pickaxe towards it.

He started to delve deep into the rock as he kept a constant search along the walls of the holes that he made in order to see if he could find any kind of gleam or shine of silver that he was so much in need of in order to get his project finished finally. He wasn't having much in the way of luck in finding something to fulfill that purpose as, after digging for a good ten minutes on one boulder, decided it was best to move on to the next one. He did so, picking his pack back up along the way, as he made his way over to the next boulder that was along the path. Taking pickaxe up in hand again he began to delve into that boulder... and wound up having to go into the next one... and the next one... and the next. He started cursing the day away as he began to carve into his ninth stone as his arms were starting to get tired from all the mining that he had been doing for the past hour. He was about to give up this crusade and begin moving along in order to find another place where boulders could be found... until finally lady luck smiled upon the silver haired Jashinist.

It was so small one without a trained eye would never have been able to detect it as he could see a material embedded within the stone shone dimly to what little sunlight it was exposed to. This was a good sign to Dante, both as a beacon that he was on the correct track along with the fact that when he usually found this type of material it meant it came in clusters within the same location, as he gently mined around the material and was able to pull it out of the stone as he placed it in the light to get a good look at it to make certain it was what he was looking for. The black sheen along with how it had a sort of dirty combination where dirt didn't exist showed to Dante that it was indeed the material he was looking for as he took out a jar he had made certain was big enough to show exactly how big of an amount of the stuff he was going to need and he placed the small bit of metal inside. He still had plenty more to go as he got back up with his pickaxe and he began drilling his way back into the stone in search of more.

His pickaxe dove deep into the rock, taking chunks of the stuff he encountered out of the way out onto the ground, as he began to see more and more of the material that he was looking for. He would mine, dig out, and place what he needed into the jar at his feet. He had ran into a gold mine inside this one stone as he found that he was quickly filling a good 1/4 of the jar with the material he needed which was very rare in terms of finding something through one place. By the time he was done with the whole stone's worth of it's metals he indeed was able to fill that much into his jar as he looked inside and was impressed he was able to find such a great haul. He, of course, needed more so he took up his pickaxe once again and began moving from stone to stone once more in order to find even more goodies to fill his jar with.

His mining was well rewarded as he was able to procure the amount that he needed in order to finish his sword within a few hours as he gave out a long and satisfying sigh upon dropping his pickaxe and stretching out his back as he rubbed it in places in order to get the kinks out fully. He took in some breaths before picking his jar back up and grunting as the material he had collected was known for being very heavy even in small amounts and he knew he was going to need to toughen up before he could wield any weapon he made out of said material. He knew he would be able to do it, though, and he could get it done very quickly if he put his mind to it all. The fact that he was a member of the cult of Jashin helped out a large margin as well being as he was a missing ninja that others were hunting and if he ran into any ninjas with a kill order against him he'd be able to shake them off and get away no problem. Looking at the materials within his jar he could see the shine and perfect striations within the metal that let him know that it was all top quality and therefore perfect for making a weapon out of which made him happy at his work.

He placed his jar into his pack he had brought, along with all the rest of the tools, and slung it over his shoulder as he took the cloak that he had brought along with him and started walking along the multiple streets through the forest as he made his way to the safehouse he had within the more darker part of the forest which held all of his gear and such for making his weapon. He walked the roads, making certain that his face was constantly shrouded underneath his hood, as he made the way slowly to make certain he didn't draw any attention to himself. As he was before he was making sure he was too fast to track for any ninja who tried. Now that he was weighed down, however, he couldn't go nearly as fast as before so he needed to make certain he was covered up in case he came into the sights of anyone hunting him.

Feeling the sun bear down upon him he made his way through the forest as he decided that he'd take a little detour along the way in order to get himself something to eat as he knew he was going to need his full strength for the next few hours as he was going to be going into even more work for the next few hours. He stepped into a little restaurant that was settled along the side of his road as he took a seat at a vacant table while setting his bag on the ground beside his chair as he looked at the place's menu in order to see if there was anything that caught his eye. He ordered some tea while he looked through the menu as he kept his hood over his face and was relishing the feeling of all the weight he had been carrying was off of him once again. He found what he was going to eat after a while, ordered it, and sat back in his chair and looked out the nearby window while he waited for his order as he passed the time by taking a little nap. He kept his senses sharp, however, just in case someone came up to him with killer intent to make certain he didn't get caught unawares.

After a few minutes of napping in his chair he opened his eyes as he noticed the woman who had taken his order was coming back with his order. She laid it down in front of him as he nodded to her in thanks and he took up his chopsticks and began to dig into his deliciously crafted food. It was certainly better than most anything he could cook as he dug into it and could feel himself getting full and satisfied. After dinner he got up from his chair, leaving the ryo on the table with a little extra as a tip for the waitress, as he picked his bag back up and put it over his shoulder before walking out and continuing his way down the road. He kept his head down as he did so and kept a watchful eye on nature surrounding him to make certain he wasn't going to get jumped by anyone anytime soon.

He didn't encounter anything of that nature, however, as he was able to make his way through the winding roads all the way to his safe house and thus stepped in through the door to the dark room of his blacksmith stuff. He set the backpack down by the door as he shut his door and flicked on a nearby lantern as he tossed his cloak away onto the floor before taking off his trench coat and hanging it on the coat hanger that was beside the door. He took off the top he had underneath as he now was only wearing pants and shoes as he went over to his furnace to make certain that it was good on coal. Upon seeing that it was he coated the coal in lighter fluid and shoveled in just a bit more from a pile that he kept beside it before lighting a match and tossing it inside to ignite the coal into super hot flames. The heat coming from the furnace was expected though it still caused him to sweat as he walked over to a nearby fan and turned it on to give him at least a little relief for what he was wanting to do.

He cracked his neck a few times by swinging his head from side to side as he allowed his muscles to relax so that they would get ready for the work that he was about to put them all through. Upon making certain that he had stretched his body out as good as he could get it he looked to his bag that he had left by the door before reaching into it nd taking out the jar of the material that he had been searching for and brought it with him to the pot that he held over his roaring fire and set it to the side. He would first need to make a mold for the weapon he wished to make so that the material he was fixing to melt could cool to form his intended design of the blade. So he went over to a canvas that had been covered with multiple papers that he had been drawing on separately when he had been trying to come up with a design for his sword that he was wanting to make as he took a piece of paper while making certain he lined up with all the other papers as the complete drawing came into the light as all the drawings he had drew on each paper came together.

The drawings that he had etched into each paper combined to show a sword the size of a claymore in height though width wise was a more of a controlled size so that it didn't wind up too heavy for him to be able to handle. However with the material he was going to be operating with having a more and more high weight to them it was going to be tough to be able to handle even if he was pretty strong. He knew that he would need to go through much training in order to get things set in order for him to swing such a huge weapon proficiently. It wouldn't be a problem, though, for him since he knew that his life required him to constantly have to become stronger. Pleased with his design he went to work as he laid all his paper on a nearby table, looking at it once more in order to get an idea of where the best place to start first was, as he went over to the mold casing and began to fill it up with the material needed for his mold.

Thus that's exactly what he did as he got to his mixing station and began to pour in the materials that he needed in order to mix together a perfect mold in order to hold all of the steel material that he planned to use in the crafting of his sword. He waited for the material to mix as he watched everything sink and churn as clumps were smoothed out and softened into the material just as he was hoping would happen as he then went off to get the box that was going to hold all the mold within. He cracked his knuckles as he dragged the box over to the mixing machine and poured the contents down through a hole at the top of the box as he made certain to fill it all up to the top and he turned the machine off. He then watched as the mold settled itself completely inside the box as he knew that it was going to take quite a long while for everything to dry for him to work with so he decided to pass the time by doing a little training to get his body warmed up.

He had a punching bag that he usually liked to take any of his frustrations out on, or just simply kill time while getting a good vibe of his combat capabilities, as he walked over to it and gave a boxing stance as he started to wail onto the bag over and over again. It was going to take a good two hours for the mold to dry completely so he was going to have to pass the time in some kind of way and what better way was that then improving his body to at least be able to hold the weapon once he got everything done and ready for wielding. It was going to be a long and arduous process, making this blade, so he may as well have fun while he went through it all so that he wouldn't lose any interest in continuing with what he had planned. This sword was going to be beast and he wanted to make certain that it fit his style to the letter which is why he was going through so much preparation to get it as perfect as possible.

He did a few flips and tricks so that he made certain that his feet gave as much attention to the bag as his hands did as he would stop a few times so that he would get down onto his hands and do a few pushups in order to get a bit more strength into his body. He kept this process up for about an hour before sitting down in order to take a break and looked into the box to see how the mold was doing in it's drying. It looked very nice as the drying process was going well as the coloration within the mold suggested that it needed just a bit more drying before he could make anything out of it. He would thus need to wait a second hour before he could take it out to begin cutting the blade's form into the mold. He thus decided that it was time for him to go ahead and start multitasking as he decided it was time to start melting his material as his fire was now hot enough at the temperature that he needed it to be. He thus went over to the jar that held it all and got himself another jar, made of steel to serve as a place to hold all the melting material in, as he then placed that jar over the fire on top of a plate and poured all the material inside of it. Now to wait. It would take a long time for the metal to melt, longer than the mold to dry, but that would give him time to cut out the perfect design he needed out of his mold.

He thus continued his training, taking to the bag along with hopping up to the pull up bar in order to crank out some reps, as he waited for everything that he had the forge going through to get through with things. He would continue to do so for another hour as he tried his best to get more pumped for what was about to happen rather than tired too quickly. Afterwards he would crack the muscles within his neck once more as he rubbed his arms and stretched them out before walking over to his mold creation and felt that it was dry enough now. Taking that into account he cracked the box it held it all in open and was pleased to see that it all was dry now. So he took a knife and split the mold down the middle as it separated into two halves. Now came the long and arduous part where he carved into the mold the design of his blade. Taking knife in hand he went to work.

Slowly and deliberately as possible he carved into his mold the design of the blade itself that he had been looking forward to creating for a long time. He cut into the mold, cutting out a space into the mold as he made certain that he made everything perfectly spaced without any cracks or the like so that absolutely everything that he needed to get straightened would remain good to go. After another hour of cutting and carving out the shape of the blade he wanted he laid back to allow himself to look at the carving to see if there were any blemishes or dings that were going to make his blade turn out lumpy or anything of that nature. Though from what he could tell he couldn't see anything too major to really talk about as he smirked and nodded at the fruits of his labor in satisfaction.

Upon making certain everything was good to go he went over to the jar that was melting all the material he had collected due to mining as he saw that everything was going according to schedule. There was a reason why this material was the one that he had been searching for for so long as this particular steel was known for having many qualities about it that was good. Not only was it a very strong material for making blades with but it also contained a property that made it unique from other blades: Blood regeneration. Taking into account that he was a member of the Jashin cult and usually any Jashin stuff is done with blood he felt this was by far a really good thing to have if ever he was in a jam with his sword being broken or the like. He could even use his own blood which was quite nice being as he had no chance of dying no matter how much he blood he lost. Of course that didn't mean that he could slack off in terms of this ability as it only was able to do it a limited number of times in one day. He would always need to express caution.

After waiting a few more minutes he saw that the metal was all melted and ready to pour as he took a pair of large tongs and used them to pick up the jar. Even melted the material was still just as heavy as before as he had to grunt in order to get it all off the pedestal that he had the jar placed upon. He held it carefully as he brought it over to his funnel that led down into his carving of the blade he made out of the mold as it all poured out, red and hot to the touch, while making it's way downwards and formed itself into the shape of the mold. Once he had made certain that the mold was as good as he was going to be able to get it he put his now way lighter jar back down in a cool place and would allow his blade to dry for a bit before he continued to temper it in order to make it as strong of a blade as possible. He would need plenty to quench it all plenty and also carve it so that it was as good as he pictured it inside his head.

Once the material had it's time to cool off and dry, which didn't require much in the way of time at all, he once again reached for his tongs and went to pick up the blade and as he clamped down onto the steel with the prongs he was pleased to find how strong it was against his efforts. He picked it up, grunting again, before bringing the hot metal over to his anvil in order to observe the blade for any dings or dents. He found a few warps, which wasn't good, as he picked up his hammer and began to wail onto the steel in order to try and get the warp out of it all. If he couldn't he would need to go out and get even more of the steel like material which was something he did not want to do again. After a few hammer strikes, though, he was happy to see the warp dinging itself out as he brought the steel quickly over to the hot fire he still had burning and placed the steel inside.

After a few minutes he could see the steel burning up and hardening as he nodded and brought the steel back out before bringing it over to a barrel of oil that he kept nearby and quenched the steel into the barrel in order to super cool it all. Doing so was a way of hardening the steel as he waited a few seconds and brought the blade back out and saw the steam rolling off of his blade satisfyingly which was good. Placing the blade back down onto the anvil he once again gave the blade a good once over in order to make certain that everything was now good to continue. He was pleased to see no further complications could be found in his blade which was what he was hoping to see as he thus laid the tongs he used beside the anvil and rubbed his shoulders as he now was about to go and do some "fun" stuff with designs for his blade's hilt. He walked over to a desk that held other materials, like silver and bronze and regular steel, as he decided to pass the time of allowing his blade to cool by making the skull design that he had in mind for the hilt of his blade.

Steam continued to roll off of the blade on the anvil as he went to work carving and cutting into his materials as he drilled holes the steel and silver and melded them together to make the main design of his skull. He carved eye sockets and teeth grooves while making sure that they were highly detailed so that he wouldn't run around with a blade that looked silly. He had some left over melted material from earlier mining escapades that he had gone on as he also involved little bits of those in his crafting so that the skull design would be able to restore itself if damaged. Upon making certain that he got all materials in order and combined he began to drill more and more deeper into the steel mesh in order to make it all come together to make the skull nostril and jaw line until he was looking at a pretty good sized steel skull to fuse and put onto the hilt of the blade that he planned to make later after carving his blade's steel to make it look more blade like.

He thus got up and made his way back over to the blade and picked it up and took it over to his small grinder as he turned it on to high. He held the blade downwards as he put it next to the grinder and saw the sparks fly as the grinder began to slowly carve out the steel and make it shine and glimmer in places that it touched just like a sword was supposed to. He kept up the grinding of the gears, satisfied at the amount of sparks that he was producing, as while he could feel the blade becoming slightly lighter to hold it was still quite heavy. He made certain to get both sides of the blade as for the next hour he continued to grind the sword of his imagination and made it look more and more like a blade that could cut and take damage. Upon finishing he brought the sword back over to the fire once again before sticking it inside for a few minutes to allow the blade to heat up to it's proper heating setting. Once done he took it out and stuck it inside the barrel of oil once again, flames bursting upwards upon doing so, as in the next few seconds he took the blade out and sat stunned at his creation.

It looked amazing as he could see the fruits of his labor in all it's glory and was astonished at the level of skill that he held. He remained composed as he brought the finished blade over to the anvil once again to allow it to cool off completely as steam rolled over and off the blade. He sighed in satisfaction as anyone would say that the progress he had made today was excellent and looking outside he had to agree with such things as the sun had long since gone down and the sky was covered in stars and the beauty of night. Looking over to his bed he thus collapsed down onto it as he looked over to see his fire still burning as he sighed and got back up to put the flames out. Couldn't risk burning his home down, after all, as he stomped the flames out quickly until they were completely put out. Upon doing so he made his way bac over to the bed and collapsed once again to allow his eyes to close as he went straight to sleep thanks to the tiredness that he had been feeling from all the work he had put in today.

When he woke up next the sun was just barely showing itself over the horizon as he sighed and sat himself up while feeling sore from all the work that he had put in the night previously. Usually such signs says to take it easy for the day but Dante honestly just wanted to finish his project and get it out of the way as he looked over to the blade and saw it shimmer in the sun brightly. This gave him motivation to get moving as he got out of bed and walked back over to his desk and picked up the skull as he examined it and knew he still had just a little bit more stuff to do. Taking a jewel that he kept on his desk, green in color with slight swirls circling on the inside of it, he went over to his forge and got a lump of what was left of his material, melted though dried, and he restarted his fire once more as he set the lump straight into the flames.

He had special plans for the hilt of his blade as he planned to do multiple things to it to utilize the blade in more ways than just one. He waited for the material to heat up until it was malleable enough that a hammer would be able to morph it in any way that he wanted to form it. He then, using his own hand while channeling his chakra through it, picked the material up out of the flames and cursed himself as he held it in his palm while channeling more and more chakra into it. Whilst doing so he put it on the anvil and began to hammer away at it in order to flatten it out and make it more easier to handle all while he continued to hold it in multiple places and channel more and more chakra through it. He did this in the hopes that the hilt would thus be connected to only his chakra and make it so that only he could hold it when it came to wielding the blade. Seemed to be working as he could feel the material being absorbed easily into it as he then decided to move to the next phase.

Drilling through the material while still hot he was able to stuff his jewel into the center of the hilt as he had been told by multiple people that the jewel was known for being able to channel a person's chakra into whatever that person needed it to. That meant that Dante's chakra would be able to channel it's way into the blade and take on the properties that came through his natural chakra affinity which he had already known to be wind. Who knew what would happen as such a result could produce multiple results and make his blade that much stronger. He thus continued to hammer the material around all it's sides and edges in order to straighten it out so that it looked more like a hilt then a piece of useless metal. Once he got it to the proper shape that he was wanting it to get to he brought the shape over to the grinder for some more grinding to properly get the shine and make it blend properly into his blade.

Sparks flew once more as Dante held the hilt against the grinder and he saw it do it's work to smooth out any rough edges along with grinding a sheen and shine into the steel and give it a more natural look. He decided he'd design the hilt a little, subtly grinding notches and grooves into certain areas of the hilt so that they cooled off into it, as he was quite pleased with the overall design of everything. Upon finishing adding such touches there was just one last thing for him to do: Put everything together with his blade. His design for the hilt was in place, made perfectly to match how he had designed it in his drawings, as he brought his blade notched with the edge that he was going to stick the hilt upon and heated it with fire before taking very strong glue and lining it along the outside of the blade's hilt location and inside the skull that he had already fused with the actual hilt. Once done all he had to do was slide the hilt down into place and... It worked! Everything fit perfectly as Dante was now looking at his now completed Rebellion which he properly named himself. It would take a little while for the glue to dry, of course, but for the most part he had done it!

He set the sword down, so to not disturb it while his glue dried, as he got up and felt that it was a good day to get training with it so that he could be able to build up the experience and strength to wield it better. He thus walked over to his fire forge and shut everything off so as to not worry about any of it anymore and walked over to the jacket that he had held over his coat hanger before putting it on. It was quite a good day outside and he was going to make certain that he made the most of it as he sat back down onto his bed and put on some shoes before giving the glue just a little bit more time to get dry. His foot tapped repeatedly on the ground as he waited, wanting to get out and train with his blade excitedly, as he was happy that he was talented enough to make something this impressive. He turned out to be more talented then he realized and this pleased him for the most part.

Upon waiting a couple more minutes he got up out of bed and picked the blade up. It required both of his hands to lift but he knew that it would just take a little bit of training for him to get used to it. Realizing that the hilt was nice and snug on his blade he lifted the blade and placed it on the back of his coat. Dante had actually already made a clip into his coat that allowed him to clip his sword and keep it in place so that he could travel without having to worry about it going all over the place. Once he made certain the sword was properly attached he thus went over to his door and opened it to allow the sun to shine deep into the hut that he lived in. He used his hand to block out most of it as he walked out and closed his door. Feeling the weight of his newly crafted blade on his back he thus started walking in order to start his training day.

In the future, could you link the thread that you did the other WC in?

As for the stats, unless I am mistaken we don't allow you to claim items and stats at the same time. Sorry.

Approved of the words towards your sword. BTW, this was a nice read.
