A-rank Mission Human Abduction Empty A-rank Mission Human Abduction

Sat May 30, 2020 1:27 pm
Mission Stats:

Arc and Rook set out on another mission with the success of the last mission they were on.  Last mission they had saved a bunch of Turtles from poachers. This time the stakes were a bit higher.  The mission briefing said that there was a young child who was abducted.  This means they couldn’t just go in and bash some heads in.  This would be a stealth mission.  Extraction without casualty was the primary objective.  In these missions he was glad to have Rook a long because if things went poorly he could run some interference.  It was nice having someone who looked and acted just like himself on a mission with him.  Additionally They had begun strengthening their telepathic connection.  They could now speak to each other in this way as easily as they could verbally.  Arc and Rook had other things that they had been focusing on.  Specifically, the goals in which they wished to reach together.

Rook had been focusing on Ninjutsu training as much as possible.  Arc and Rook agreed that through the bond they had it would be best to strengthen their gaps in knowledge.  So Rook bent his mind away from researching the intricacies, the ins and outs of space time, and turned his focus to the ways of the jutsu of this plane of existence.  Which freed Arcanis up more to study the reason why his time jutsu wasn’t working in this world.  But as much as that was important it was also important to complete missions and gather funds for the village.

Which brought us to this mission.  It was out in the Kiri borders.  Not much was known of the area.  To be more accurate, and Arc loved to be accurate, the area was supposed to be nothing but ocean.  The mission briefing showed them a map of the surrounding ocean and the direction the man was said to have fled was… well there wasn’t anything there.  It was charted as just an open ocean.  Which to Arc meant there was likely a convoy of ships or something out in the middle of nowhere that was serving as a base for the human traffickers.  So the mission would likely end up as sea warfare.  Arc rolled his eyes in frustration.

This caught Rooks attention.  “What is it?”  Arc and Rook didn’t pass everything through telepathy.  It was easier to give each other privacy when they were thinking.  Both men had exquisitely strong minds and sometimes just required a moment to think to themselves.  “Is it something about the mission?”

“Yeah” Arc replied as the two of them hurried toward the docks.  “The mission going forward is going to be a bit on the different side.  The mission briefing as you saw was that the Man headed out to sea.  Likely he has a ship or something waiting out there for him.  This means a couple things.  One: We will be fighting at sea, which is something that is very dangerous.  One slip up and you are at a severe disadvantage.  Remember if you end up overboard to use your chakra to stay above water.  That far out can end up being a pretty rough wave.

“And the Second thing?”  Rook already knew but he asked as a way of prompting the completion of Arc’s thoughts.

Arc hesitated and continued “The second thing is there is a chance that we don’t find them.  He has had enough of a head start that he may not be trackable over the water. We are starting with a huge handicap.”  Arc and Rook leapt over the barrier for the docks, unconsciously quickening their pace.  Neither of them wanted to see the young girl lost to such a terrible situation.  Their boat was waiting for them by the dock when they arrived and they left immediately in the direction of their target.

After an hour or so the sun was beginning to set and the two continued in complete silence.  As the sun went down some lights could barely be made out in the distance.  With a short nod both men were aware that their target wasn’t far off.  They cut power to the boat’s motor and stepped out of the boat.  Using their water walking technique, they grabbed the boat and began running silently across the water toward the dim lights.

Using a simple technique Arc created a fog bank from the water to mask their approach.  An evening fog wasn’t unheard of anyway and the dimming twilight made the approach unnoticeable.  As they drew closer Arcanis realized that he had been wrong about the ships being a base of operations.  It was much worse.  A massive oil rig sat looming high over the crashing waves below.  Arc and Rook left the boat tethered by a long wire to one of the support pillars.  With a nod they began their ascent.  They were as silent as wraiths descending on their prey.  well ascending.  When they approached the first platform they began to hear the sounds of the men above.  The first platform was empty but provided the two ninja a perch high above the ocean.  They would have to head up a couple more levels to run into anyone.  The lower levels were reserved for utilities and service access.

Without a word Arc and Rook split up.  Arc headed clockwise around the structure, and Rook went around the other way.  They knew that they would have to check every inch of the rig because even though they were sent to only find one child the scum here may have more hidden away.  The whole ring would need to be taken down.

Arc took the first level and knew rook would head up to the next level as soon as he could.  So this level would be his responsibility.  Looking around there really wasn’t much to see.  There were only 2 enclosures on this level.  The first was a supply closet.  It was full of cleaning supplies for the machinery on this level, which consisted of mainly support for the rig itself such as heating, cooling power and the like.  Nothing much in the supply closet passed that.  Though something caught Arc’s attention.  In the corner of the room was a bin of used rags and linens.  Most likely for the crew cabins above.  But many of the rags were stained with what could only have been blood.  It wouldn’t have caught his eye except of the sheer number of rags.  It gave him an uneasy feeling.  But he kept his head.  He left the enclosure and headed over to the other.  This one however was locked with a padlock.  Arc simply crushed the lock in his hand.  His power had returned to its previous level.  Opening the door, the scene in front of him almost broke his calm.  3 young ladies lay unconscious, naked, bloody and bruised.  Arc’s priorities immediately changed.  He had to rescue everyone here and he no longer cared about arresting the culprits.

Rook made his way around the rig and found a set of stairs.  He silently and swiftly swept up the stairs.  He saw a flicker of light off to his right as he made it up the stairs.  He flickered into the shadows and directed his attention to the location of the small illumination.  The light came from a lighter held by a burley looking man.  He was lighting a cigarette and enjoying the quiet night.  Rook almost felt sorry for him.  Rook slipped up behind him cracking the man over the head.  Sharply before grabbing him and lowering to the ground.  Holding the man's shoulders he dragged the man off into the shadows.  He knew he was now on a clock.  Eventually someone would miss the man.  Suddenly Arc was next to him and he felt different.  Something was off about him.  Searching his own memories, the memories he shared with Arc, he could n’t remember a time Arc felt this.  “What…” Rook started.

Arc reached out and grabbed the man by the throat.  The unconscious random man that Rook was hiding.  He grabbed the man and with a swift jerk broke the man's neck. He then threw the man 10 meters off the side of the platform.

“I guess we are forgoing the stealth pursuit” Rook commented as a moment later there came a small splash from below.

“New goals,” Arc said coldly with a vicious snarl. “We kill everyone other than the hostages.  Keep one person alive.  I’ll keep one alive and then we will see which one of them knows more.  That one gets to live a little bit longer than the rest.  And Rook,”  Arc looked his clone in the eye, “they are monsters.  Execute with extreme prejudice.”

Rook and Arcanis split up and he had to wonder what Arc had seen.  But the fourth level cleared it up all too well.  Rook stopped dead at the stench.  The smell of blood was overpowering.  This floor had a massive building with multiple doors on each side of the building.  Guards stood sentinel at each door and the entire area was brightly lit by flood lights.  Sneaking up on this floor would not be easy.  Rook took a couple steps up a post and leapt above the lights to hide above them.  He would need to attack swiftly and silently as to not alert every guard on the floor.

Arc walked to the third floor knowing Rook was covering the floor above him.  He walked toward the door guarded by 2 guards.  The first was about 5 foot 11 inches tall and maybe 300 pounds and holding a massive morning star.  He looked like he knew how to wield it too.  The second seemed to be a bit more lean and nimble looking.  He was crouched down and looking at his fingers seemingly bored as hell.  The two didn’t notice Arc till it was too late.  The second man shot to his feet into the waiting grasp of Arcs right hand.  Gripping the man firmly by the trachea, it was simple to move his head into the path of his friend's clumsy swing.  Arc dropped the boddy and wiped a small speck of blood off his sleeve.  The opposing juggernaut seemed startled. Arc’s blade cleaved cleanly through the man's neck killing him before he hit the ground.  Flicking his blade to remove the blood from it Arc sheathed his sword.  He unceremoniously kicked the head and bodies out of the way and stepped through the door behind them.  The dark corridor stretching out in front of him smelled of sweat and fear.  Arc remembered the scene he saw downstairs.  He normally wasn’t moved to such strong emotions but the atrocities that were done to those women, someone had to pay.

Rook Sat silently and perfectly still watching the path the guards took.  He timed the patrol of a guard.  Dropping a thin wire down in front of the man, Rook waited for the exact moment and with a quick flick wrapped the wire around the man's throat.  Dropping to the floor Rook hoisted the kicking strangling man up to his position above the lights.  He tied off the wire and did a quick transformation jutsu becoming the man who by now was passed out and would soon die of strangulation. Rook walked at the pace he had seen all the guards walk.  He assumed it was a technique that was trained by each guard to make sure the patrols were exact.  For a gang of human traffickers the organization seemed very thorough…

Moving through the dark tunnel Arc emerged in what seemed to be a drug den by the smell of it.  His disgust piqued as he saw the scene around him.  Fat ugly men Sitting with women and young men who were bound and being fed drugs as the miasma of body odor and fear filled the room with the thick cigar smoke and fumes of unknown drugs cast a haze over the entire room.  Looking Arc saw more of what he saw earlier.  There were marks on the bound slaves.  Marks indicating torture and abuse.  Severe abuse.  Arc’s anger flared and the closest aristocrat fell dead to his blade. The slaves around him were so out of it they didn’t respond to the death.  Arc knew he would have to return here to collect the victims.  However he was starting to feel the effects of the fumes in the air.  Two more men found themselves in Arc’s path.  These two seemed to be under the influence of the gas and put up even less resistance. The first man had massive fatty hands and reached toward Arc in a lazy attempt to grab him.  Arc staggered slightly, starting to feel woozy.  The man's hand fell to the ground and his stomach split open.  A gurgling wail was cut off by Arc’s hand covering his mouth before twisting the man's head with a sharp crack.  The body fell with a thud and the second man's eyes widened in terror.  The fog in his mind lifted slightly but not quick enough to avoid the shuriken that hit him into the head.  The room was now just writhing with the soft incoherence of drugged slaves.  Arc proceeded to the door on the far side of the room.  He fumbled a bit with the door and realized he was not in a good position.  As he opened the door He stood face to face with a Ninja he did not recognize.  He was unconscious a moment later.

Rook threw the last man over the edge.  He has slowly been making his way around the rig and removing the guards as Arcanis had instructed.  He also rigged several of the support pillars with explosives.  Once he Did that he Prepared himself to enter the building.  Something had been bothering him though.  His head had been buzzing for a while now and he couldn’t shake this feeling there was something wrong.  After slipping in the door he found out what it was.  The room was full of at least a hundred men and women all dressed in formal evening wear.  The smell in this room was overpowering.  Blood sweat, smoke, and food smells mixed with the din of excited people circling a drop to the floor below.  In the arena style area Young girls and men were thrown into the enclosure with vicious animals.  It was clear that the victims down below were drugged and were being torn apart by the animals.  Rook looked on in horror.  This had to have been what Arc saw down below.  Down below another gate opened and a man was dragged into the arena.  Rook immediately recognized Arc’s clothing even from up here.  Rook didn’t know what to do.  If he went down to help Arcanis the devils up here on this level would surely escape, but if he didn’t the animals would tear Arc apart.  Rook yanked the sword on his hip from its sheath.  Hurling it to the arena below he screamed in Arcs Head hoping to arouse the man from whatever stupor he was in.  Rook could feel the cloudiness of Arcs mind.  Rook couldn’t handle that at the moment as he gazed around at the wealthy scum that sat in luxury recliners all around the arena with a clear view of what was going on.  Most didn’t realize the intrusion of the ninja or the assisted weapon from the crowd was anything other than part of the show.  Looking around Rook spotted what seemed to be the most luxurious suite.  If he hurried he could prevent anyone from escaping.  Rook strolled over to the master suite calmly grabbed the richest foulest looking man and dragged him over to the edge of the pit.  At this point the crowd was sure that things weren’t how they should be.  With a thrust Rook threw the man over the railing and down onto the beast who was sniffing around Arcanis.  Dropping over the railing Rook hit the detonator on his explosives.

The roars and screech of rending metal and screams of many people in the room snapped the young time master back to his senses.  The room was nearly pitch black he could sense many people in the room and many of them he could tell were dying.  Once his eyes adjusted to the light in the room he could tell that the roof had somehow collapsed and crushed many of the patrons above.  Arc looked around some more.  Next to him a massive piece of steel girder sprouted the silhouette of a 4 legged beast.  It’s hot breath smelled of blood and decayed flesh.  This wouldn’t be easy.  Arc still felt stiff and unresponsive.  SUddenly the animal jumped at him, clearly having a keen sense of sight of smell to detect him in the dark and chaos of the surroundings.  Arc threw an uppercut to hopefully knock the beast aside and hopefully discourage it from attacking.  He was widely off mark.  He was not yet completely back to normal and the darkness was only interrupted by a pulsing emergency light.  His strength was definitely greater than the beasts, but the blow went wide only succeeding to knock the animal to the side enough to give arc some breathing room.  Arc reached out and grabbed the large steel girder and felt a massive muscle bound beast tackle him from behind.  He rolled away as best he could but the beast was on top of him snapping and snarling in his face.  The beast resembled a cat except it had the multiple eyes of a spider.  It was truly gruesome and terrifying.

Rook Landed in the midst of a cloud of smoke.  He gripped the neck of the man he had thrown down here so roughly.  He held the man's face in the dirt to prevent him from struggling.  As the cloud of dust cleared the darkness was almost absolute.  But Rook could still see some others in the arena.  A couple mangled slaves made Rook clench his jaw in anger, but then he saw them.  The darkness all but hid the two figures that skulked out from within.  They strolled into his line of sight with a cockiness that couldn’t hide their actual power.  As one passed a body of a slave who wasn’t moving he wound up and kicked the body.  It lifted up and flew at Rook.  it was a demonstration of power but rook also knew it was a distraction.  Rook caught the body knowing instantly that the young girl was already dead.  Rook leapt backwards dodging a blade and protecting the body he was holding.  The second ninja was giving chase as Rook shielded the body from being desecrated in death.  But he knew that if he kept running he would likely join her.  He set her down and continued to retreat.  He quickly looked over to where he left the executive.  He seemed to still be lying motionless.  He had to deal with these 2 now.

Arc scrambled backward as the beast snapped at him trying to get a hold of him.  Arc brought a foot up and kicked the animal off of him and rolled to the left springing to his feet.  As he did his foot connected with something hard.  He swiped it up and continued to circle.  He found that it was a sword, the one that previously rook had thrown down to the arena, though Arc had been unaware of that action.  Arc adjusted and gripped the hilt of the blade and planted his feet.  He could now stand his ground against the beast.  The beast still seemed to have an advantage though fighting in the dark.  Arc admired an animal's ability to fight even when they were out matched.  The next lunging snap met Arc’s sword but the animal bit down in the blade locking it in the animal’s bleeding mouth.  Arc wound up and punched the animal straight in the snout.  With the blade stuck in it’s mouth it could do nothing but take the blow head on.  The animal’s head exploded with the power behind the punch.  Arc flicked the blade to eliminate the blood on it.  He took a moment to look around the room.  Off in the distance he saw a few people fighting though he couldn’t tell who.  The movement was quick though so the fighters had skill.  Likely Rook was over there.  Arc headed that way carefully.

Rook was in a tight spot.  He didn’t have a weapon on him other than a few shuriken and a kunai.  Not the kind of weapon cache you want when fighting fully trained opponents.  But they might be a good distraction if he needed it.  He dodged to the left avoiding a blade swing then ducked under a mighty punch from the other ninja.  Rolling forward onto his hands he sprung into a heavy two footed kick to the strong man's chin.  It sent the man staggering backward.  Rook took the moment to Engage the second man.  Another blade strike fell on open air and Rook grabbed the man’s arm to prevent him from countering.  With a twist he hip tossed him to the ground.  When he looked up he saw a huge fist coming straight at him.  With the speed he had come to expect from Arc he was greeted with the protection of a grip of iron on the fists arm preventing the attack from completing.  Rook twisted the ninja’s arm that he was holding and struck the man in the ribs with his knee.  The tell-tale cracks of ribs being broken was evident.  Arc had already dispatched the other ninja with the blade in his hand.  Rook picked up the blade his opponent was wielding.  And handed it to Arc.  it was Arcs original blade after all.  Arc returned Rooks and the two of them walked back to the executive after Arcanis guaranteed the two ninja were dead.  The anger Rook had seen in Arc had not yet subsided.

Arc and Rook took the executive to a better lit room outside of the arena.  The entire platform seemed to creak with the damage it had sustained from the explosions.  Arc and Rook stood in front of the man they had bound.

“Alright, You are going to assist us in freeing everyone on the rig.  Before you ask, if you don’t you will die.  After being tortured for a long time.  What you did here was a deplorable act.  And The nation you decided to set up shop near isn’t known for treating threats like you kindly.  I suggest you assist or else.”

“Please,” the man begged, “I didn’t do anything, I never hurt anyone.”

“You sat there and watched it happen at the very least and that is still proof of your inhumanity.” Rook said. He knew Arc was trying not to kill the man.  But they needed help finding all the slaves that were prisoners on the Rig.   “You are certainly guilty.  But maybe you can atone a little by helping.”

The man agreed knowing that he had no other choice.  Arc and Rook found the remaining prisoners and got them to a series of life boats they had on the platform.  Unfortunately not all the slaves made it. many of the bodies that they found on the platform died from wounds or overdose.  It was a painful sight but Arc had to prioritize the living.  Should the platform stay standing Arc would gather a fleet to return and clear out the remaining bodies.  With the prisoners gathered together Arc found the little girl they were hired to rescue.

Arc and Rook returned to the village with the freed prisoners in tow.  They were taken to a facility to be debriefed and returned home.  Arc and Rook escorted the surviving patron of that house of slaughter to the special ops location where they would complete his interrogation.  And finally, they were able to go complete their mission and head home. Arc took a moment to talk to the Mizukage however to see if he could organize a burial for the ones lost on the platform.  He provided exact coordinates and any necessary information.
