KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
The rhythmic sounds of force colliding into the surface of another. A visitor at the door? Here? But who? This was no home, nor was it a place of familiar scenery, thus should not entice any form of visitation..but here we are with one, a visit. This was a small boarding room pub along the outskirts of the village hidden in the mist. The people here were as brutish as they were untrustworthy.
The pub was in decent holding, its foundation laid with precision and its drink packed a punch. The nights were loud and vigorous as the days were the complete opposite. Not more than a handful of individuals would occupy it for their morning coffee and breakfast - seven pm wss when the fun began and five am was when it died. So that erect the question...who was knocking on his door in the morning.
Within one of the rooms laied a man, monstrous on height, yet his body compliment it well. With eyes closed, shirtless - sun rays peak through the blinds of his room blessing his scarred chest and abs with warmth of the day. Slowly did the lids of his eyes slid open, revealing demonic eyes. Two toned golden iris with darken scleras. They adjusted to the lighting of the room, focusing on the ceiling that was water stained. Redirectiong to the right where the door was just a few meters from the bed he was occupying. The man would lay there for a moment as he observed the door. Glancing to the bottom where he can see the shadow of someone's feet. There were standing too close, they were listening for sounds.
His body erect as he lifts his head from the caseless pillow. Manuevering his body so that his feet made contact with the cold and and dusty floor. Quietly he stood to a total feel of six foot, one inches. Head tilts to the left with speed and force, a cracking sound of relief escaped his bones in his neck. The same method was repeated on the right. He yawns, lowly as he gathered his thoughts. Motioned with some haste towards the door. Placing his hand on the nob he would rip it open... There was the sound of a shriek - feminine scream. The door hanged of the top hinge as it swayed to his left. Those demonic eyes glaring ar the owner of that feminine scream. A woman... Her clothing was not what you would expect to see, around here anyway. They were of silk fabric and clean. She wore gold earrings and a charm necklace. Blonde hair and green eyes. Lashes that would put a horse to shame. Judging from her height she was only five foot, two inches - dwarfed in the company of this man. She smelled good, too good, clearly not from around here.
She gazed at the shirtless tower of a God. Her eyes dilated as she fixed them upon his sculpture of a body. She felt a rush of intimidation and fear as he noticed his overwhelming gaze. Shaking...it was evident that she was frighten. The man did not seem annoyed, but he did seem uninterested. The woman took note of this as she was cast in darkness before his massive frame. Her eyes unable to maintain the lock with his fell to the floor. "A-Are you the one they call... A-Aokidanza?" Her voice trembles, clearly she was afraid, but for what reason? This man did not know her, nor did anything to her for such a reaction.
One slow blink was made by him, as be slightly tilted his head to the right. Who spoke that name around her he would wonder, better yet, who was speaking of him? "Yes, I am Aokidanza. Why are you here?" His tone deep and powerful, one that can rattle a person to the very core of their being. She trembled again upon his initial word. Hesitating to look him in the eyes the woman kept interlocking and twisting her hands about. "O-Oh, um... I... I-""I asked you a question. Why are you here?" Interrupting her stuttering, simultaneously grasping her moving hands within his own. She flinched and shot her eyes at him. She was met with those demon eyes and black hair veiling them. His earrings shimmer as the sun rays bounced off of them. Their faces were inches apart. Her face grew red, was she flustered?
To her he smelled of berries, sweet berries that would make one feel light on the inside and relaxed. His face was that much more appealing as it was closer to see at this point. Bouncing her eyes from his to his arms, chest, hands, lips and body she felt hot all over. "I'm... here to ask... for your help, Aokidanza. I'm the daughter... of a lord near this land... and I'm in need... in need of an escort... uh.. uh home, yes." Her focus was torn into multiple areas, this was noticeably by him. Her eyes were filled with attraction towards him. He smiles, which only made her blush deeper. His charm was compelling her and he didn't even had to try. Releasing her hands and retracting his with his body he would turn to walk over to the bed he was sleeping on. Pointing to a spot on it, he would move his head to have those golden eyes glance over his shoulders at her. "Sit." He commands, taken back she shook her hear rapidly while holding up her hands towards her chest. She mistook his implications for advances, sighing he snapped his fingers once and repeated his guesture to his bed. The snap startled her but made her comply. She sat at the furthest spot of the bed. Doing her best not to look up at him. "Relax. I'm not that kind of man... unless you want me to be?" His words would cause her to go hot all over again, sneakong peaks at him with red cheeks.
Not paying her much mind he began collecting pieces of his clothes, dressing himself. His attire consisted of a black dress shirt with obsidian buttons and silk black tie. Black dress pants and shinobi boots. Topping his attire with a black coat with red interior of silk, buckles with straps at rhe wrist of the sleeves. From the desk he picked up and put his black gloves. Fully dressed he would turn his attention over to the woman. "How much?" His tone reached her, forcing her to look at him with an expression of relief. Her smile was pretty and her green eyes brightened. She was pleased to hear this question. Clenching fists with her hands. "R-Really!? You'll really do it? Three thousand Ryo. That is what my father will pay as a reward." Her joy was of little interest to him, he was more amused by the payment.
Not one to be a fool, he would understand that for such a high reward only warrants contingencies. Though it matter not to him of what those problems were, or who. Aokidanza would tend to them in accordance. But before that... he needed something to wet his pipes. "Are you thirsty?" His question was an open ended one on purpose. Before she could respond he would depart from the room towards the lower floor where he could satisfy his craving. The woman scurrying behind him like a defenseless pup. "Ah, would you look at that! I didn't think it was possible to see you up this early, Aokidanza." The chef of the pub says with a smile. Greeting the man with a smile in return, pointing to the woman trailing him. "The honor for such a feat belongs to her." Taking a seat before the counter he would take up a menu. The woman met eyes with the chef and smiled as she sat next to him.
The chef looking back at him and then her would place his hand on his chin to think. "This your girlfriend? I didn't take you for the prissy type." The woman's eyes open wide as she looked at the chef then at Aokidanza. Rapidly shaking her head and holding her hands to her chest. Those golden eyes of his took note of her... unique tic. Waving the idea away with his left hand. "You know that I like my women dangerous... This one is benefiting me with another need. One coffee, add a shot of whisk. A bowl of oatmeal with apples and berries. Oh, and a glass of water for her... Am I wrong in presuming this to be on the house?" The chef shook his head as he completed his writing of the order. "Not at all. After you doing me that solid favor dealing with those idiots last night, I'd say you have a few on the house specials with me. I'll be back with your meal. " Taking off to prepare the order.
The woman looked to the man with a puzzled expression. Something was clearly bothering her. The man had a pretty good idea as to what it was, but wanted to see how this was going to play out. "I like coffee and oatmeal too. Why did you order me a glass of water and not the same? Especially if it was free." Her tone was one of displeasure. One that he liked the taste of. "Huh? You're grown, you could have ordered your own meal... and paid for it yourself, princess. Besides, I don't remember seeing you crush any skulls at my side last night... where you invisible?" His tone was sarcastic and heavy. She did not have any words... he made perfect sense. She was of royal blood and had more than enough funds to purchase her own meal. Feeling shameful for even bringing it up, her eyes sunk to the counter top. "W-Water is fine... Thank you." Her tone returned to that timid pitch. The chef with his coffee and her glass of water.

Chiming of a porcelain bowl being sat before golden eyes. The aromatherapy that the bowl gave off was pleasing to his sense of smell. Napkins and a set of spoons laid out on the left of the hot porcelain. The chef claps his hands once, giving the man a delighted smile and bows as he moved to the lower end of the counter to assist another customer. Glancing over to the woman who without eager to drink her glass of water. Aokidanza scoffs at the sight, tending to his meal and its flavor. His eyes lackadaisical, but a mild sense of surprise reached him; it was delicious. The clinking of his spoon connecting with the interior of the bowl as he scooped eat bite. The flavor waking his taste buds, his body following suit.
The chef has accomplished impressing him on this morning. Perhaps waking earlier to enjoy this dish would be in his near future. The atmosphere was dull, murmurs of few holding side conversations amongst themselves. The scent of other meals and hot beverages intertwined. Low audio of music playing in the background, setting a mood of enjoyment. Finishing his meal, spoon set to the side of the bowl; mug now in hand. Slowl gulps of its dark nectar, the hint of whiskey gave him a kick start as be drunk to the bottom of the cup. Setting it down he would use one of the napkins to wipe his mouth of any residue.
"My, my... Are you not going to partake in the content of that glass? Surely you could use it, no?" Adjusting himself within the seat he was occupying. His elbows raised to be sat on the counter top as his hands came together to interlock his fingers, resting his chin upon them while he glances over to her. Judging by her immediate engagement of the glass he would figure that she was threaten by his statement, or rather finding it to be rude to waste it.
She dranked her glass, feeling the effects of the glass replenish her from the inside-out. To her surprise she blinked and then looked over to him. Her green eyes meeting with his two tone golden eyes. The room seem to gotten brighter after she finished her glass. "W-What was in that glass?" Her question would only peak the curiosity of the man. He would stare at her for a moment before he decided to answer her silly question. "Oh? What do you mean? Or rather, how do you mean? It was water... Water within this land hold special minerals that affect the body differently than the water in other countries. Kirigakure water is ideal for both quenching one's thirst and survival of harsh climates in environments." Intelligence was a weapon far greater than any shinobi tool. Understanding one's environment will prove useful come the need for it.
The woman turned her attention back to the glass, gently taking her hand and gliding her fingers along its side. Astonished by what she just learned and tasted. "I've never tasted such water before. Father only imports our drinking water from a far away land. He likes to buy expensive art, animals and other things." Her tone reflect that of sadness. The man picked up in this, but cared little to less to ask about it. It was of no concern of his to pry in her family festivities. However, curious to know what was not quite answered.
Turned his body to face her's, Aokidanza would take his right leg and cross it over his left. His right hand descends to rest within his lap. Tilting his head to the left upon his left wrist as it supports his head weight. His hair shifts to the left covering his left eye completely, leaving only his right to beam at her. "Why are you here? And before you say something along the lines of 'I already told you.' I mean, why is someone like you in a place like this alone?" His question clearly caught her off guard. Withdrawing her hand from the empty glass, finding them fondling within themselves in her lap. Another nervous tic, he noted. She grew silent for a moment. Collecting her thoughts no doubt. He pondered if she was going to be truthful, or if she was going to tell him a lie. Which mask was she to adorn he would wonder.
"O-Oh, that's what you meant... You see... the truth is... my last escort was... was murdered. W-We were ambushed on our way to my father. Th-Three bandits attacked us... I think they recognized me. One of them said, 'There she is, grab her.' before my previous escort used himself as a distraction. And you see... h-he was the one that told me about you. He mentioned the kind of man that you are many times as he traveled. He even told me where you'd most likely be staying at. So I ran all the way her to find you. So... that's that. That's why I'm here." Her trembling ceased mid story. It would seem that her nerves only kicked in due to fear of being judged for keeping such details.
The man would ponder over the knowledge he just obtained from her. It answered more than just one question he had. So her previous escort was a former acquaintance of his. He didn't know many men since beginning his days of travel. None that would openly speak about him to strangers, anyway. Closing his eyes to further his reach into the depths of his conscience to retrieve a name to match the carelessness of prior mentioned actions. The man would chuckle. "Daichi..." His deep voice would wash the woman over with the feeling of nostalgia. She faintly smiled, nodding in confirmation to the name given.
It was beginning to become more clear to him now. Daichi was someone that Aokidanza happened upon a few months ago. The young man was still but a child, teenager. He was boasting with confidence, but lacked experience. He was no shinobi, nor was he a warrior for that matter. He was just a boy with a dream to become something more. Slowly his eyes opened as he glances off to the lower right of distance. His parting did not particularly annoyed Aokidanza, it was bond to happen; in fact he expected it to. What mildly annoyed him was the parting gift that he left him, this woman. Though they were not close acquaintances, he felt a sense of obligation to fulfill this escort for Daichi. His gaze fell upon her yet again. "Thank you, you didn't have to share the truth with me, but you did. May I have your name so that I may better address you?" The woman looked at him with wide eyes as she began to go red again. Was she nervous again, no that was not it. Ah, she was flustered by his response.
"Aoi..." A pretty name. The demon would register it to memory. A smile was given, standing to his feet towering over her and looking over to the chef. One nod was given to him, symbolic as a means of departure. Beckoning the woman, Aoi to come with. His strides were long and somewhat swift. Motioning towards the exit of the pub he would open it to feel the breeze of the cool air upon his flesh. The woman behind him would hold her dress down to prevent it from rising and betraying her innocence. The land was somewhat foggy, but not as it usually was. His vision was vivid as a testament. "Let us be of, Aoi. In which direction are we heading?" He looked over his shoulder to obtain a visual of their route.
The woman would point towards the west, while giving him clear directions verbally. Tying that information to his memory, he now had a clear visual of where they were heading and what to look for. The two would begin their travel, Aoi staying close to the side of Aokidanza as they did.

Time passed, with it the density of the mist of the lands. From light, mid and heavy, the mist gradually distorted their vision. But like that of a lunar cycle it eventually returned it its light presence, permitting smooth passage. The towering man's stride did not decrease in pace, his coat swaying as he made a step. The woman doing her best to keep up with him, practically jogging to stay at his side. Golden irises drifted through the darken sclera to locate her in her struggle. The man took note of her persistence to not complain about his walking pace. Could it be that he was purposefully moving at that speed to challenge her? "You possess the inability to directly speak your mind, Aoi... That is a weakness, a foolish one at that. Weakness causes cancers within the mind that will plague you until one of two things. The first, you snuff it out and pure it, removed every trace of it. Two, you are killed because you lacked the ability to do and think for yourself." The woman would look up to him, meeting those demonic eyes of his piercing at her. She felt like prey before a predator when he looked at her like that.
Her head fell, blonde hair covering her face. She was at a lost for words, what was said was most likely true, but heavy to the heart. Aoi, not knowing what to say, or even if she should began to tear up. Drops of salted tears fell to the ground as she jogged. Again, noted by the man. Perhaps she feels guilty for the death of Daichi, the man felt no shame... she was indeed guilty for his death. If she would have stayed and possibly helped him she would have died herself, but to his logic - at least they would have died together and she would have died with dignity. "I-I'm sorry..." That trembling voice yet again. She then squealed as she ran into something sturdy. Tripping around it and falling to her hands and knees. Green eyes were widen as he laid them on the ground surface. Looking over to see what and how she possibly could have ran into something. She would notice that it was Aokidanza that she hit. The man's expression was that of someone with so much uninterest as he condensedingly gaze down at her.
The bright sun beaming from abaft of him. Dawn in all black with the gentle breeze rustling his coat tail at his ankle side. To the right he tilted his head and his hair shift accordingly. Hands at his sides and his presence was growing more intimidating by the second. Her weakness disgusted him. Several impulses invaded his mind and body to simply rid her of breath. He would smile, this only further made her body feel heavy with fear. Her eyes finding difficulty maintaining focus with his and him as a whole. She wanted to scream, but her voice box did not follow her urge. Running was out of the question for her body betrayed her by the inability to stand. "Would you look at this boys. Looks like we finally found her, took a few days, but here we are." Four meters ahead of the man and woman was a group of three homely looking men. They wore tattered clothing and even looked to be covered in filth. Eyes closed to open with a new focusing point, the men. What a delightful treat, as expected by the man they found them before he found them. The woman recognizing the voice, rattled, turned around and shrieked. The man analyzed them for a moment, just a mere moment. "Indeed, it did take you a quite a while. I was beginning to think this was all for nought." The deep voice of the demon would reach them only to provoke them. The woman continued to shake as she found herself caught in the middle of it all.
"Who the hell are you? We have no business with you, buddy. We only want the girl." Aokidanza smiles. His hands spread and rised as he revealed his wingspan to be striking. Head still tilted, eyes now narrowed in an inviting manner. "Then take her..." His words would shake the very foundation of the woman's being. She snapped to look back at him, seeing that he was not giving off any indication that he was merely jesting. He didn't even look in her direction. Not so much as a glimpse was made. She felt betrayed. The bandits were a bit puzzled, but eventually began to smile themselves then chuckled. All three made their way over to the woman, who was no numb to everything that was befalling her. She cease to cry and even tremble, it was as if she was already awaiting her faith. One of them grabbed hold of her, standing her up and turning her to face the apparent leader. The leader would look at her, raising her head to get a better look at her delicate features of her face.
SMACK!
Her left cheek red from a nasty slap from the leader. He smirks. "Thought you could get away, did you? I'm going to teach you some respect." His buddies started to laugh sadistically. The final one approached the demon eyed man and placed his palm on the man's chest in an attempt to push him back. Aokidanza did not budge a inch. Demonic gaze fell heavy upon the head of the arrogant. Such a gaze manifested potency of ill intent that almost oozed from him. Bandit #3 immediately realized that the situation was not right. However, in one fluid motion the left hand of the man was placed underneath the arm of bandit #3 just below the elbow. While the right hand stiffens and lands with immense force to the middle of the forearm, simultaneously pushing up with his left to snap bandit #3 forearm in two. His scream of pain would reach his comrades, but he would be silenced soon after, Aokidanza's left hand Smithers around the snapped arm to palm the entire face, applying force to stiff arm him to the ground where his left foot would rise and smite the very skull of the fool, pooling his membrane and plasma about the land and his clothing.
The other two, along with the woman turned their attention over to the man. A smile painted his face as he licked the residual of blood from his lip that splattered upon it. "Oh my... It would appear that my foot slipped. How clumsy of me, I really must do better to look where I step. Then again, I never gave him permission to touch me, now did I?" With a malicious smile and chilling words, complimented by an act of horrendous thought; he stepped closer to the remaining too. They stepped back with the woman, holding her close as they did. "T-The hell are you doing, your freak!? Stay back or we will kill her here and now!" Aokidanza began to laugh as he continued another step. This bother the men as they didn't find a thing funny about their threat. "Go ahead... but I'm still going to have my fun with you both. My job is to escort her back home, she never specified that breath needed to still cling to her when I do." The air grew colder, almost choking the very air from them. Uncomfortable and irrational they threw the woman to the ground. Charging at the man.
She hit the ground hard, rolling over to gather her barrons. All she could hear was the screams and cries of the two men. The sound of spraying and bones cracking. From her perspective she recognized the sound of someone choking or gargling on some kind of liquid. Laughter from the voice of Aokidanza was pinpointed throughout this all. She slowly looked back to view, but it was already over. The man stood over the two with his back towards her. "...A-Aokidanza..." She obtained no response from him. His focus was lost in bliss from his victims. His eyes would soon find their gaze upon her, revealing his blood drenched clothes. The look of unsatisfactory dressed his face. "It's a pitty... Any danger you can see is trivial, what is truly frightening, is the danger you cannot anticipate." He motioned in her direction, passing her while beckoning her to follow. Immediately she stood and followed behind him. Her heart was racing, but oddly she felt safety within his space.
It was not long before they reached their destination. A home of grand appearance, delightful sights adorn the garden. Fountains of unique design. Servants of sorts worked the yards with haste, one can only imagine with such a vast land it only made some sense. Then woman, Aoi, was immediately recognized as one of the servants shouted out in relief, hasting within the confines of the home. The man ceased his walking as he analyzed what was to occur. And older man, dressed in silk with gray hair with the servant that enter the home, made their way towards the two. Aoi looked to this man with such happiness that it was only further increased through contact of embrace. "I'm finally home, father. And it is thanks to this man, Aokidanza." Guesturing to the man with golden eyes. Her father without much words, snapped his fingers as one of the servants ran into the home. "I'm so happy to see you, my daughter. And thank you, sir, your reward will be no short of my thanks."
The servant returned with a pouch, Aoi's father points to Aokidanza, the servant presented him with said pouch. With a lax gaze the man extended his left hand to retrieve the gift presented to him. Up and then down, weighing the content of what was in his hand. A smile manifested on his frame. The pouch disappears within the confines of his coat, turning to depart from that place. Making it several meters outside of the home, the sound of patting feet emerged abaft of him. Those eyes of his pierced over the right of his shoulder. It was the woman, out of breath, heavily panting. What was this? Why was she running after him? He would be shamed if he did not admit that a inkling of curiosity stained his mental. "A-Aokidanza, I want to say... thank you again... for bringing me home. A-And for saving me from those bandits." Was that to be her reasoning? To thank him? Such a weak thing to do. One deep chuckle escaped him, returning his gaze upon what was before him - the path leading back to the pub. Granting her with no response other than that. The stride of the towering man would continue.
