Clown Augmentations???

Travin has had his people looking for the best blacksmith in the village for a few weeks now. After all, he wasn’t going to take his weapon to the normal blacksmith in the village. That guy worked on everyone’s stuff and would just fly through it in no time rushing the job and probably messing it up. After all, Travin had paid a lot of money for the items he was wanting to add to the sword and when it was done it was going to be a masterpiece one-of-a-kind weapon. He felt like he needed it to stand out now that so many people in the village had signed the contract for the Snakes of Ryuchi cave and several of them were getting the same sword. He didn’t really feel too special with it anymore, so what better way to make him feel like his sword is the better one than to spend several thousand ryo to upgrade it.

His people had finally gotten word back to him that they had found a good blacksmith that hung out down by the pier. Travin was not going to just trust anyone with his prized sword and expensive material he had sent people out to hunt for, so he went down there himself. He was wearing his normal Rentei clan armor with the weapon in question strapped to his side. Following the direction that he was given Travin found himself at the pier and staring at a clown troupe.

What the hell was the first thing that popped into his head followed by I’m going to kill Bruce. However, after years of service and have never let him down before Travin decided to give it a chance. After all, the worse thing that could happen is he would have to kill a bunch of clowns for making fun of him and then say they were some kind of gang trying to start an uprising or whatever excuse was in at the moment. Although he really hoped it would not come to that since it would really add to his load of paperwork.

Travin would walk over to the clown Troupe and ask “I was told there is a blacksmith here” in a loud and commanding voice. He would keep it straight and simple so that if they started shaking their head no he could just leave.

The one thing about Kiri...Well New Kiri that Niento and his troupe liked was that there had been no downside to performing and working here. The people were nice, at least to a fault. The turn around for shows had been spectacular and it gave the troupe a much needed change in the locale and clientele. At the current moment the troupe would have been relaxing out front by the pier just near the boat in which they came in. Many of the people had simply woken up while others could be seen carrying around crates and laughing. Overseeing the troupe were two siblings, both directing the flow of traffic for the troupe as well as making sure things were done properly for those that had been working. The voice didn't catch them off guard but it made the troupe stop in their tracks and stare at the male that had asked a question? If it could be called one. For a moment they stared in silence and looked among one another before a young male stepped forward. His attire had merely consisted of a white buttoned shirt and black pants with shinobi sandals on, but his stature said a lot more than it should have. Looking over Travin for a moment he would finally speak in the Troupes stead," There is someone here who dabbles in blacksmithing. i would recommend however that you keep the boom in your voice down, follow me. Miya continue the work i'll take him to dad," in which he would turn around and motion with his left hand for the newcomer to follow. Miya on the other hand shrugged and went back to doing what she had been doing prior.

Izayo would lead the male up the ramp of the boat and past a few others who at the moment were tending to the condition of the giant vessel though they didn't bare any mind to the company once they saw Izayo walk by. The trip was rather quiet on his part for he didn't have anything to say and once they had arrived at a door with a clown's mask on it he would knock," Got someone here asking about blacksmithing...are you even up," the sound of a few things crashing and moving around were all the indication the younger black haired male needed before pushing the door open. As it opened mixed smells of smoke and fumes fled the room as a small cough could be heard shortly after," I was actually working on some- A customer? Huh. Well bring him on in," reaching for his glasses he would slowly put them on as he tapped lightly on the end of his cigarette and placed it back into his mouth," Name's Niento.. And if you've made it this far i'm guessing you need some work done. Alright let's see it.," standing up he would point toward the table directly in the middle of them. The room itself had been pretty messy with papers, books and weapons scattered about. It didn't look like he cleaned very often, but his work area was often like this. Moving over to a nearby chair, Izayo would merely be a spectator to his father's side craft.

Travins question was answered shortly by one of the two standing guards, or at least that’s what he thought they were doing. He was not the most familiar with troupes and the such. However, the young black-haired man agreed to take him to see the blacksmith on the grounds that he keeps his voice down. Travin himself didn’t have any problems with that as he was only talking loud to get someone’s attention. In his experience, if you make a small scene someone that knows stuff will come to try and settle things down, and that person tends to know who you need to talk to.

He would be lead through the tents and other clowns and such that they had, all the way to a door with a massive clown on it. Travin thought it was strange as he didn’t expect one of the clowns to be the blacksmith. He had figured that they kept one around to fix everything and make repairs, but then again no one ever expected him to be the head of a major corporation either. The black-haired man opened the door to the smell of smoke and fumes Travin figured from a smithy within assaulting their noses. The smoke cleared quickly as the doors opened and Travin was allowed entrance. Standing in front of him he figured would have to be the blacksmith who introduced himself as Niento, and make the obvious connections that Travin needed some work done on his gear.

“I’m Travin Rentei” he would reply introducing himself as he drew his sword. “This is one of the swords from the Snakes of the Ryuchi Cave, and I would like to upgrade it if you think you can do it” he would tell Niento as he slowly drew his sword and laid it on the designated table. “I have the materials I would like added with me as well.” He would add as he reached into his cloak and pulled out a sack from its extra-dimensional pocket. Placing the sack on the table next to the blade “some Meteoric Iron to strengthen the blade. With a Senju wood handle with a Refined Jade pummel, and lastly some Hemlock to poison the edge of the blade as well,” Travin would explain as to what he wanted to be done to the blade as well as what was in the sack. He would wait and allow the man Niento to handle the sword and the material in the sack, as he waited to hear if the man could do it.

"Interesting name for a sword. Alright let's see what we have going on here," slowly he stepped forward as he pushed his glasses up to the bridge of his nose and took in a deep inhale which followed by crinkles of ash falling down and dispersing into nothingness. His movements were fluid and quick as if he had handled a thousand blades in his life-time, a swing to the right and left before twirling the blade in his hands. As he did so his eyes would begin to glow a light tinge of red and orange as he used his free left hand to remove the cigarette from his mouth," If I can do it? You wound me with such a low expectation of myself. Nicely crafted sword...Seems as if this was passed down to you by Summon race huh?," a small chuckle came from his lips as he sat the blade down and pressed on three parts with sufficient force. Once on the pommel of the blade. Once on the blade itself where the tang of the blade would be covered by the guard. Lastly on the handle of the blade itself. The force itself was enough to split the blade into the parts that he was going to work on. Looking over to the materials and back to his work area he would tap on his chin for a moment before shrugging," May have to change the appearance of the blade if you are wanting Hemlock to be infused into it. A straight blade won't allow for the poison to fill the blade...you're going to need a slightly jagged or serrated blade. Not an issue.," from there he would scoop up the meteoric Iron and the blade itself, throwing both into an intricate device and close it, sitting down to the right of it as he waited. Looking over to Travin he would make some form of small talk as he waited for his machine to do its work," So. How long have you lived in this current iteration of Kiri?"

“You will have to forgive me for the phrasing, but from my standpoint, you are an unknown blacksmith that comes highly recommended. I should have phrased it better” Travin would say in an apologetic tone. Something he had gotten fairly good at over the years with working with egotistical businessmen you needed to be able to make them feel better without really caring about them. “However you are correct that is one of the blades crafted and handed down to summoners that they trust.” Travin would agree with Niento. Part of Travin flinched when he broke the sword down into the three parts but it was well hidden with only a flinch in his left eyebrow, he failed to hide very well.

Travin would listen to the man explain how the straight blade would not be able to hold the poison he was wanting on it, and how he would need to make the blade serrated or jagged for it to work. Thinking on it for a moment Travin would finally come to the conclusion that it would be fine. “That’s fine with me to make it more powerful then it will need to be changed. I was expecting it to look different by the time it was done.” Travin would answer Niento.

Travin watched the man toss both the blade and the iron into some kind of machine and hit the button. A strange sound would come out of the machine. It wouldn’t worry Travin normally but since it was his weapon it caught his attention. He sat down across from Niento while they waited for the machine. Niento in an attempt to make small talk asked Travin how long he had lived in this Iteration of Kiri.

“My clan has been here since before Xavier took over the Islands, but I have only been here and serving the village for the past 10 years.” He would tell Niento, being intentionally vague on any details. “How long have you been working in the troupe” Travin would ask in response to push the topic of the conversation away from him and back onto the man Niento.

"Its fine. Just sounds like you don't have much entrepreneurial experience and more shinobi experience which isn't necessarily a bad thing. If the Summons had graced you with a weapon you must be either very important or on their good side. Either or this should be done in an hour or so depending on the equipment," the rest was history as he sat down and began the conversation with Travin. Niento's eyes would slowly revert to their coal color as he chuckled and shrugged," Vague. Very ninja like. As for how long have I been with this troupe? Whew. I established the troupe about a good... six or seven years ago? It was original means to leave the shinobi life and it worked. I don't owe any fealty to no Kage nor any land. I'm in the sense free, no longer having to follow the death of my parents. Also I don't work in the Troupe. I am the ringleader and boss. They're all lovely people though. All from different walks of life, but we all share a common theme. We all are free of that which tied us to a particular life," looking back for a moment to the equipment it was like he was gauging time or maybe process, but he scratched his chin for a moment before turning back to him," But that's my story in a nutshell, nothing too grand or amazing. How do you like this iteration of Kiri?"

Travin listened to the man Niento explain that he was the ringleader and owner of the troupe and that what it offered him and his people was freedom. No loyalty to any kage or land, it was something that Travin couldn’t get his mind to wrap around. On the surface, it sounded great. He could lay in bed all day and focus on the family business instead of going to kill people all the time. However his job wasn’t just killing people, I mean sure he did get a lot of those jobs, but he also got a lot of jobs where he helped people and most of the people he was sent to kill were bad people. The but the job gave his life meaning beyond his checking accounting. It was who he was inside he didn’t know if it was the way he was raised or just a fundamental part of himself, but inside he was a warrior and warriors needed something to fight for. This village was what he fought for and would still fight for it.

“They seem nice enough people, While I have never spent much time among troupes your’s seems very professional from my experience. I will have to come back and see you perform, I don’t think I have seen one since I was a child and then only once. There was not a lot of time for things like that growing up, and being the heir Training and lessons was all there was” Travin would tell Niento “As far as my opinion on this Iteration of Kiri” Travin would take a moment and think about the question. Feeling that he could be honest with this man for some reason, and having never thought about it before. “I feel like this iteration is much better than the last. Aloide has been moving us away from the Bloody Mist history, and the village is growing extremely fast and gaining much more strength. All probably due to us not killing our own shinobi” Travin would let a small laugh out with the last of his sentence.

A small chuckle escaped his lips as he placed the butt of the cigarette into a small ornate ash tray and nodded," They are very nice people. All walks of life and they are appreciative of the fact that this home is just that. A home. Free of prejudice and strife from the evils of life. They are like my extended family as well. Most of my family is either in hiding from the scars of past wars or dead so to be with them its great. Plus I can't say being in a troupe is bad either, We can travel anywhere and perform. It doesn't have the perks of the Shinobi life of course, but its an honest living as well," his stance on the troupe was everything. They were his family and for them he was their saving grace. Many of them were in a pit so far they could not get out. Niento had brought them from that and given them more, and for him they filled in a family dynamic. Izayo of course simply nodded to the small story as the familiarity of "family" was still new to him as he was just created a few days ago. Travin's answer to his other question however posed an interesting sound from him as he smiled," Different huh? I can honestly say that so far, this place is definitely different than the old Kiri by far. Less blood and a lot more...freedom? I guess you could say? Though I do hear that you are on the cusp of trouble with another village? Not my place or concern to ask but I am merely curious of the current state of the world so I know where to avoid," the rumbling slowly stopped and with one swift moment he grabbed a glove and tool to open the door. What he grabbed had been a simple cast, but he could see that the mold and base form of the blade had been completed. Pressing a small button the machine would fall into something without a sound and upon where it once was had been a fully equipped bench. Motioning for his son to come over, he would point to a few spots on the blade for Izayo, and the direct technique to do so. Turning back he would nod," Your blade came out great just need to finish the small impurities and we will focus on the rest."

Travin listened to Niento talk about how life was in a troupe, and he could see the appeal behind it. Being able to roam where they wanted but he also knew that it was not for him. He had so much gone on within the village and his clan that he didn’t have time to really even think about doing something like that. He also liked that the man agreed that this new Kiri is a lot better than the old in a lot of ways. However, Travin also knew that it was a lot worse as well, and while he would never say it aloud outside of his clans’ compound he felt that this new Kiri was starting to get a little soft. He had been on several missions now with shinobi that had never taken a life before or experienced what real combat was like, but that was the way it was you can’t have one without the other he thought to himself.

When Niento asked him about the current affairs of Kiri. Travin’s first thought was that he was some kind of spy for one of their enemies. He quickly dismissed that notion however when Niento explained what he meant. He was mostly just wanting to know where not to go and how to stay out of the way. It was a question that Travin could understand wanting to be answered. He took a few seconds to think it over on how to let him know without giving away too much information. “Currently we are uneasy with Suna. I don’t have all the details but something happened a while ago and I’m pretty sure there will be retaliation of some kind. We have also just gotten back one of our genin who was extremely mistreated by Hoshi. While attending the chunin exams while I can’t say much more than that, I’m also not sure on what will come of that either since it was just a lowly genin after all, and the other kage’s wouldn’t support much to be done about it.” Travin would tell Niento his voice and face slightly puzzled as he did his best to give the man what he needed to know without giving out any village secrets. “So if you are to leave Kiri I would not recommend going west” He would add with a bit more of a smile.

It was around this time that his blade had finished and Travin watch the man inspect it and pull it out before showing Izayo where some spots were to finish up, and telling Travin that the blade came out great and that they just need to work on some impurities. “That’s good, I have a feeling ill be needing that blade as strong as I can get it soon” he would say with the same grin he had before.

Hearing all of the information caused Niento to rub the stubble that he still had on his face in a contemplative form before shrugging," Suna seems to always have some form of trouble here and there it seems. Unfortunate because I love some of the materials I can procure from there and it is a rather nice spot if you want to be secluded. Then again there is always a period of war or strife among these shinobi nations so it doesn't surprise me. Thank you for sharing what you could with me. I know from a certain standpoint there is only so much you can reveal or say to someone not allied with your village..or any village really. Oh Izayo...You need to strike that spot five more times. Use your eyes why don't you?," to which the young male grunted and continued to hit the metal in the spot that his father had been mentioning, but his eyes had remained his normal coal color. A small sigh escaped his lips as he turned back to the rest of the sword and began to look at the other parts still waiting to be worked on. As he looked he did notice something that would definitely need some slight adjusting so he looked over toward Travin, more specifically his hands as he chuckled and began to adjust the length of the handle and pommel as a just in case. The workings of his hands made no mistakes or missed a beat as he reached behind him and took the steel that he his son had just finish beating into completion and with a swift working of hands the blade was slowly coming together. The blade itself had the container for the Hemlock which had been inserted into a special point in the Kissaki or Point of the sword. Once the click was heard a small green hue could be seen running down the length before dulling to the blades normal color. Taking the sheathe he would do a couple of test swings before smiling with his work and sheathing the blade. Handing the weapon back to Travin he would smile," And there you go. Take good care of that weapon...its pleased to have a good owner, but don't use it for evil." He wouldn't elude to what he meant by that but if the male had any other questions he would gladly answer them.
