In truth she knew the world was cruel, and even then, she could realize it was a Genjutsu, but she didn't want to linger, unaware if the birds would slowly burn to simply bone, and even then they'd likely keep singing, she just didn't want to think about it, she gave a soft giggle of nervous fear at the birds as they began to turn back to shurikens before finally turning around, her eyes only slightly glossy as she watched the Uchiha walk back, she wanted to hit him, she really did want to hit him, she didn't wish for death of course, just a small slap or something, though she wouldn't voice those thoughts, simply looking away immediately after viewing him, now looking at Kouga, he didn't seem to have had such a awful Genjutsu, what did she do to deserve one she questioned, though just didn't stop to ponder it.

The boy then talked about how she was quick to hurt herself, she just rubbed her finger and thumb together in her pocket, likely just smearing blood onto her thumb, she wasn't happy, in fact that simple experience had made her heart sink, and once again opened her eyes to just how unready she was in all aspects.

"Is everything all right?" - he asked again, as he didn't get an answer. His voice was deep, but soothing, trying to make sure Nakama knew it was over and she was safe. She was probably in shock, and that easily could have been Kouga, had he gotten a worse genjutsu. If she was shocked he'd try to console her and continue.

Hearing the Uchiha not even acknowledge scaring his peer like that made him a bit angry. "You went a bit far with Nakama, didn't you?" - he asked trying to keep his voice calm. "We said no scary illusions."

If Nakama was fine or if Izuna still asked him to teach them Kouga would get a bit lost in thought. What could he teach the others that they don't know and could actually be useful. Most maneuvers with his sword are fairly useless to anyone not specializing in weapons. The only useful thing he could teach them was how to parry techniques, but they would need to be adept at infusing weapons with chakra for that. Something he wasn't the best at yet either. He could practice that and try to teach them as well. It was a nice little chakra control exercise. Yeah, that seemed like a good idea.

"All right, take out a kunai or something similar that's small and metal. Izuna if you don't have one I can lend you an axe." - he started. "I'll try to show you how to infuse things, weapons specifically with your chakra. It's good practice for chakra control, and might be useful in medical things as well." - he explained his reasoning in a matter of fact manner. "Is that all right with you guys?" - he would wait for their answer and if both agreed he'd continue. He held out one of his throwing axes, and kept on speaking: "You should think of the weapon as part of your body. Like an extension to your arms." - he then closed his eyes before carrying on. "Try to close your eyes and just feel it. Feel how far it reaches, feel the parts of it. Try to gather chakra in your palm and fingers. Now if you feel the blade as part of your body try pushing the chakra into it." - the blade started glowing blue, and he continued his explanation: "Let it flow through it then let it enter back into your body. Focus entirely on the weapon." He would then open his eyes and look at the pair:

"Let's try it one at a time. Nakama would you mind being the first?" - If she agreed Kouga would step closer to her, if she didn't he would step up to Izuna and would repeat his instructions: "Hold out the kunai and close your eyes. Try imagining how it looks in your head. Try imagining its position. Now try to feel it. Feel it like it was a part of you. Like it belongs there. Like you were born with it. And when you are ready pour the chakra into it, then let it get back to you. It's like a dance, like circular river that never ends. There and back again."

He was surprised by how angry both of his peers suddenly were with him. In truth he didn't think the illusion scary at all, it children's story material. His face would morph from curiosity to surprise then into confusion as the interaction went on. He now figured Nakama was a bit soft, while Kouga likely thought he had given her a illusion that was far more disturbing then what he actually had, so he decided to clarify and clear his name.

Holding his hands out in a placating manner he justified his actions. "No, that illusion wasn't bad at all." He sounded genuinely baffled. "It's just a creature from a children's story I grew up on, and something my teachers back at the clan use for all new initiates to genjutsu, sure it has a bit of a shock value but its hardly scary or traumatizing." His explanation was long winded but he didn't want Kouga thinking he had purposefully traumatized a peer.

"I assure you it wasn't meant to be a scary illusion." He said the last two words in a bit of a quippish tone, as he felt they were being overdramatic about this whole thing. He would look down on Nakama to see how she was doing, but left the comforting and the like to Kouga, he didn't believe he was in the wrong nor was he very good at calming distressed people down.

Eventually Kouga would get back up and begin to instruct them them on chakra control using weapons, what Nakama did was up to her, and if she went first Izuna would spend the time watching to see if he could pick anything up. Izuna is laser focused on what he could learn from the weapon's specialist. Once his turn came along he did as instructed by the new teacher, closing his eyes and focusing on controlling his chakra to go into the axe he now held in his hand. He held it in a specific way, not outstretched in a way that would tire his arm muscles quickly, rather he held it close to his core, with the axe head pointing upwards. While his other hand was placed in a half tiger seal since he was concentrating on focusing his chakra to do what Kouga was instructing.

The circulation analogy was a good one for Izuna, he liked Kouga's way of explaining things and due to that he quickly managed to begin guiding the chakra through the weapon. It also helped that he had done some mild exercises like this back with elder Eko, since his lightning nature made infusing weapons like shuriken a natural combat option. Izuna's chakra nature was very electric, he could feel it in his arms as he did the exercise, the liquid lightning crackling underneath his skin, some of it would escape the out of the weapon as it circulated through, making the axe give off sparks of electricity and small bolts of lightning as his chakra traveling through it. He had a basic infusion set up in a couple minutes, it was crude and loud as electricity constantly danced out of his control, but he had managed to do as instructed.

Upon cancelling the infusion Izuna glanced up at the sun, it was soon to be time for him to get going, looking back at the two Genin he decided to speak a few parting words to them, hopefully he would meet them in the future, maybe they would even be on the same Genin team, once he graduated of course. They would very likely run missions together either way.

"Was an educating morning my friends, anyone have any last things to say or teach before I make my leave, got to get to the academy pronto, for real this time." He laughs at his last statement and gives them a wink.

As Nakama just sulked in her quietness she didn't pay much mind to what was happening around her, there was somewhat of a welling feeling inside her, she couldn't really describe, it often happened, usually when she came upon a dead animal on the road, something common around where she lived despite how nice the section of Konoha she lived in was, her parents were decently well off thankfully, but still, she didn't ever get used to finding a dead animal on the road, others would call her crazy whenever she would walk over to one to check its pulse, check if it was breathing to see if she could possibly keep it alive, but more often than not it had long since passed ever since she found it, it was never something she could get used to seeing, and yet this was somehow worse, the act of seeing an animal die was so much worse than finding one already dead, perhaps it was because you felt like you could do something when you see it dying, you feel like you can spend your time to help save it, rather than leave it to die, she wasn't sure why she felt that way, perhaps she was just weak, perhaps it was how others felt, but it wouldn't explain the many dead animals she'd find, perhaps there was a animal fighting ring or something. The thought of that made her sick, enough to go pale for a second, she wanted to vomit even thinking about it, but she merely stayed quiet now looking mostly down at the ground towards her sandals. Though eventually she looked up, snapping a bit out of her trance of self depredation to look at kouga who had approached her now.

He was asking her to pull out a kunai, with little thought she did, not knowing why he wanted her to do so, she spun it around on her finger to get a proper grip, on it, it was one of the facilities practice Kunai, so she didn't really know much about it, these Kunai had wooden handles and replaceable bladed parts, it was anything but a ordinary Kunai, even she never really liked these kinds of Kunai, they weren't exactly sturdy they were there for people who didn't have the money to buy their own proper made Kunai which she didn't right now at least, but she wouldn't say anything about her financial issues, who would care after all. Her parents certainly didn't merely give her the amount she'd need to live off of, though she at least always had nice clothes and food, there was never any left over for ninja equipment, they always said that stuff would either be given to you or you'd find it own your own, and that if she had planned to become a medical ninja she wouldn't even need it, supposed she could mold her own weapons out of Chakra which she didn't entirely understand. Though she simply listened now too Kouga, her eyes ever dulled, her mind still clouded by the thoughts of animals, if animals could do that too her she would never be ready to perform medical surgery on humans.

He had begun instructing her on putting Chakra into the Kunai, she didn't entirely understand it, mostly the description of the technique, though for now she listened best she could, feel, as though it was a extension of her being... feel as though it was always with her, she didn't really understand that, though she did her best to form chakra, or release it, though it seemed to merely ripple inside her, not much happened, she tried again, and yet again nothing  happened, with that she grew slightly frustrated, but that was hidden by her self doubtful look, as she tried again, and again, her muscles seeming to tense each time she tried, she wasn't sure why it wasn't working, perhaps she wasn't thinking what she was supposed too, what even was she supposed to think, the thoughts slowly molded into something that wasn't exactly proper, rather awful thoughts in fact, simply molding back into depressive thoughts as her Chakra seemed to shift into a core inside her, she could feel something, but it wasn't nice, it actually hurt, in fact it hurt a lot, as she gritted her teeth it only made it worse, and finally she let out a harsh scream, something seeming to tear through her back before splitting off into 5... no 6 separate tendrils of darkened red chakra, she rather quickly fell to her stomach as those tendrils suddenly began to swing and tear at things around her, they were long, long enough to hit the two even if they had jumped away seeming to lash out at anything in range, all while Nakama unable to suppress the Chakra she wasn't ready to even let out laid on the ground screaming in pain, though Chakra Chains was usually supposed to be done with hand signs, would be controllable, as well as have a specified chain like look, this version was completely imperfected, and caused it to lose control and just well outwards from her back tearing through her hoodie leaving scarring on her back, only to immediately shatter into light as Nakama seemed to lose consciousness momentarily due to the pain it was causing.

Nakama seemed to be better after the genjutsu, which Izuna would swear was from a child's tale. He felt bad now, that he got angry with him. He probably did nothing wrong, and is younger than them in the end. People just have different triggers, ha probably accidentally touched one of hers. But anyway she looked a lot better, that's why they went on with the chakra infusion practice. He did want to give him some more time so asked Izuna to be the first.

He really looked talented. Kouga didn't know if he had any sort of similar practice beforehand, but he got the hang of it very quickly. A lot quicker than him. The biggest problem for him looked like to channel not elemental chakra into the blade, which wasn't really a problem at all, since elemental infusions - especially lightning, so he was a bit jealous of the boy he had to admit - were way more useful than pure unaltered chakra. Still the fact that he had a hard time NOT to pour lightning into it was interesting. It seemed the tiger seal also helped him, maybe Kouga would try that out himself later on.

"You're good at this. Very well done. And don't worry too much about the sparks, lightning chakra is more useful as an infusion anyway."

With that he would step up to Nakama to start explaining to her as well. But as soon as he started he realized something was still off. The girl's eyes looked dull and she was trying but seemed like she wasn't completely there. Nevertheless he tried his best to help her, what could go wrong.

"Try to relax first. If you're too stressed it won't work. Stop and just forget everything. Concentrate on your breathing. In and out."

He hated when people told him to "just relax", but if she didn't, they could be here all day and nothing would happen. Just as he was thinking that, something DID happen. The girl fall on her face, and tendrils rose from her back. Kouga barely had time to drop the axe and draw his sword as he was jumping back. The first tendril struck at him, and he managed to hit it with his blade before it could actually do harm. It pulled back a bit, but was obviously unharmed. A second one was about to hit him when the all just vanished into light. He was dumbstruck. What did just happen? Was this a dream, that just turned into a nightmare? He slapped himself, but no this felt like reality. Nakama. What happened to her? He quickly closed the distance and kneeled down next to her. She was breathing. So it could have been worse. But he barely felt any chakra from her. Did she use it all up? Was this why the tendrils disappeared? What were those? But if she used up her chakra she was in danger. He quickly lifted her in his arms, looked at Izuna and talked quickly.

"We have to get her her medical help, and now."

With that he bolted off to the Konoha Hospital, not even caring if the boy followed. He never ran this fast in his entire life.

He didn't care much for shuriken or kunai but maybe a small blade or something could be useful. A tanto maybe? He considered asking Kouga about it but noticed the other boy has switched to speaking with Nakama. Izuna decided to postpone his conversation with the weapons specialist until after he finished his lesson with the redheaded girl.

Something happened and his instincts screamed at him to move, he did so. Whatever the hell was coming out of Nakama it was not something the academy student was willing to deal with at the moment. He motioned to perform the RAM seal, preparing to body flicker away from the scene when it suddenly stopped. Nakama falling unconscious shortly after. Izuna's sharingan was blazing, he could feel the burn in his eyes, he didn't finish channeling the chakra needed for the body flicker. Kouga was at the girl's side immediately, after looking her over he picked her up and told Izuna that they needed to get to the hospital, and proceeded to run that way.

Izuna looked at the sun and decided Kouga would be fine getting to the hospital on his own, he was going to be late to the academy if he didn't get moving soon. Twas a shame he didn't get a proper farewell with the two Genin but he had learned much today and would put it to use in the future. He wished Kouga gods speed and began to make his way to the academy to continue his lessons.
