As this was another morning for Oyu Otsunato, the wandering puppeteer in the beautifull tropical island of the moon, he would wake up to the sunrise, rising from his small matress on the floor of his establishment, the basic and most small building that was beside the hot spring. With the village almost done, and the gate slowly being constructed, Oyu soon would need to leave to buy materials for his puppets, but mainly to look for bundles of material he could source localy to renovate and rebuild the onsen from scratch, making it into a large hot spring resort, namely the Red Moon resort, the culmination of all of Oyu experiences over the years as a businessman and purveyor of services. The place would house hundreds of private baths and perfumed rooms, where shinobis and citizens alike could get massages and revigorating hot baths, as well as places to sleep and enjoy life. The main building would include a theater in which shows of dances, tragedy, comedy or puppetry performances would be shown and enjoyed, all while eating delicious foods and sipping exquisite drinks.
But for now, it was only a small moldy ruin, a old abandonnned onsen with barelly enough walls to hold it together, and no potential of oppening for a few weeks still. As Oyu adorned his large usual black coat over his small dark green vestments, and got ready to leave to the local market to buy the materials, he could see the day was a mellow sunshine, the weather being clean and cool, not too dry, but quite humid, a thing quite common in the land of the moon, tropical and blooming. The walk from his establishment in the middle of the village in construction was long and would likely take his whole day to go there, shop and peruse the stores, and then come back with the goods he could carry and the scrolls containing the orders of material he would make.
The journey to the market was a long one, and Oyu had to traverse a dense tropical forest to get there. The forest was alive with the sounds of nature, and Oyu couldn't help but appreciate the beauty of his surroundings. The tall trees swayed gently in the breeze, and the leaves were a vibrant green, shimmering in the sunlight. The air was thick with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and the gentle trickling of a nearby stream provided a soothing sound to his journey. When Oyu arrived at the village market, he was greeted by a bustling hub of activity. The market was filled with vendors selling all kinds of goods, from fresh produce to construction materials. Oyu weaved his way through the crowds, examining each stall carefully to find the materials he needed. He haggled with the merchants, carefully selecting the best quality materials for his project. What interested him the most was wooden beams and planks in large quantity, and to establish contact with a contractor who could provide the materials for all of his needs. As he met with a large man who was the most prolific purveyor of goods in the whole island of the moon, traditionally having his crew of lumberjacks chop up trees down and make the typical housing of the natives, the contractor and furnisher seemed already pissed off, as a foreign man who just arrived seemed to already want to establish and colonize their island. At least, this was his point of view.
As the tall grey haired puppeteer approached, the man immediately accused him and tried to bring the attention of the crowd on him.
''This man here! Look at him people! He is here to cause some problems, to destroy our way of life, to ruin our lives.'' Said loudly and in a really obnoxious way the large man, looking toward Oyu who was particularly annoyed, his face barely reacting, only gently closing half of his eyes in a way to show his annoyance to everyone looking at him.
''Oi... Maybe you shouldnt say things like that if you want to get ryo from a large buyer, eh? Now please, fuck off. I'll go buy from your competitor.'' Replied Oyu, not caring at all of the man bath words, and replying himself with the same level of respect he was given.
''HEY. Not so fast. I saw you. What you did. You stole these rings from the stall here. GIVE 'EM BACK THIEF!'' said quickly the tall grunty man, angry of the quick and sharp witted answer of Oyu. In truth, he was pointing at the rings that the Otsunato man already owned and wore in his fingers before even getting into the market, but the trick was a well played one, as a jewelry stall was right beside oyu, right behind him to be exact. With a large sigh, Oyu looked the man right in the eyes, and decided to play one of his best tricks that would fool the mind of everyone but mainly the grunty man who was annoyingly on the back of the tall grey haired man for no reason beside xenophobia. With a simple eye contact, Oyu manipulated the mind of the man, and made him believe in an alternate reality, bending the truth and perceptions, as well as the 5 senses of the merchant.
In the glimpse of a moment, Oyu seemed to give back the ring to the man, looking him and giving him a gentle smile, subtle, like he was sorry. In a small gesture, Oyu would bow down and give the rings in the hands of the man, who would feel completely baffled and would leave alone the tall man, who could escape the attention in this very moment.
But of course, this didnt happen. The genjutsu was perfectly crafted, making a perfect opportunity for Oyu to escape while the were totally tripping in their own distorted perceptions. Paired with the Transformation technique and the clone technique, Oyu appeared and transformed as one of the crowd to slip away, and his clone took his appearance to fool the basic senses of the people still in the genjutsu. After all was done, and the man was in the other side of the market, he could see the competitor and buy the rest of the furnitures he would need calmly and discreetly, after which he simply went back toward the village, calmly smilling, proud of his mind trick that got him out of this trouble.
