Mission Name: Onbaa!
Rank: D
Type: Scouting
Character Requirements: None
Word Count Requirements: 500
Repeatable? Yes
Reward: 450 ryo
Task: There is an Onbaa baby roaming around the village. Catch it before it grabs onto someone's back! And don't let it get yours!!!!!
Mack awoke at 8 o’clock in the morning feeling very hungry. He got out of bed and stretched out, getting is muscles ready for the day. He lazily trudged to the kitchen like a zombie, in search of food. Upon opening the cupboard however, Mack noticed that he was out of Lucky Charms. This was not good for Mack, he had to have his Lucky Charms! Infuriated that he had run out of lucky charms and was not going to get breakfast right now, Mack checked his room and all of his pants’ pockets to see if he had any money. He did not, Mack was flat out broke. Mack knew that he would not be able to go the entire day without having his Lucky Charms, so he set out for the village in search of missions, so he could muster up enough cash to buy a box of his favorite cereal.
Mack arrived at the village square to find a jounin level shinobi of about his age giving missions to younger children, they were about Mack’s rank, gennin. Mack approached the man and offered a charming smile,
“Hello kind sir, would you mind assigning me a D-rank mission? You see, I’m flat out of cash and I need a quick and easy way to make some money,” he said.
Looking a bit puzzled, as Mack was a man of 22 years old asking for a D-rank mission, the jounin replied “Uh, yeah sure, I guess. There’s this thing, I think it’s called an Onbaa or something, it’s quite a nuisance. Catch it and I’ll pay you.”
“Thank you...” Mack said before walking off; he had never heard of an Onbaa before and the man had given him no description. Mack decided that he would have to ask somebody else for help if he was to find this strange creature. Mack approached a young girl running a lemonade stand and asked her if she had any idea what an Onbaa is. The young girl giggle “It’s kinda like a little cat/sloth/bear/monkey thing. The babies are really cute, the big ones are scary!”
“Alright, thanks,” Mack said before walking away. Mack scanned the village, looking for any spot where a cat/sloth/bear/monkey would be liable to hang out. His eyes immediately fell towards the eastern village border, the pot closest to the mountains. He assumed from the way the little girl had described them, the Onbaa were mountain dwelling creatures. Mack lurked around the village borders for a bit his stomach rumbling. He activated his byakugan, scanning the area with an increased field of vision. It was then that he noticed a tiny creature scurrying around, without his byakugan, he would not have noticed it. Mack looked at the creature for a second, waiting for it to make a move. All of a sudden, Mack dove into the bushes where he had seen the creature scurrying 5 meters away, skillfully grabbing the creature. He had been able to do this because the creature had not noticed him. Mack swiftly ran back to the place where he had spoken to the jounin and delivered him the small, strange creature. He was payed up front.

Task: Scout around the village to make sure the area is secure. If anyone who doesn’t seem to be an ally is seen, report it to higher ranking shinobi.
After being paid for his little escapade with the Onbaa, Mack decided to ask the jounin for another D-rank mission. He decided that he could put his morning hunger off to make some more cash, it was always nice to have a little extra pocket change.
Mack, leafing through the cash in his hand, asked the man in front of him, “Hey, if it all possible, could I take another D-rank mission? I just need a little extra cash, you know?”
“Yeah, no problem, take as many as you want. Keep coming back all day if you want, we have a ton of stuff that needs to get done,” the jounin level shinobi replied, examining the papers in his hand one by one. His eyes fell upon a short document. “Ah yes, this one. Just search the village for some weird looking people who don’t look like allies. If you find any, report back to me. Simple.”
“Cool, thanks,” Mack replied, departing from the man once more. This was a pretty straightforward task, just look for some suspicious looking people. Got it. Mack scanned the village left and right for a good hour. Finding nothing, just the usual village women, children, and shopkeepers, he started to make his way back to the jounin, to report his uneventful findings. Mack had not walked but two meters when he spotted something unusual. There was a man standing in a back alley, dressed in all black, taking notes of anything he saw and of anyone that walked by. Mack, being the cautious, somewhat pessimistic individual that he was, immediately assumed that the man was gathering information for an attack. Mack lowered his eyebrows and a snarl came to his face. It was not out of love for his village that he felt disdain towards the man, but out of pure desire to fight and start conflict. He was tempted to deal with the man himself, yet knew that he needed the money, so decided to follow procedure. He headed back to the jounin who had assigned him the mission in the first place, letting him know about the man. Again, he was payed up front. It seemed that this jounin had an infinite supply of ryo!

Mission Name: Thief in the Village
Rank: D
Type: Capture
Character Requirements: None
Word Count Requirements: 300
Repeatable? Yes
Reward: 400 ryo
Task: Multiple villagers have reported their belongings stolen. Multiple villagers had reported being a target of a thief, mostly at the same time. Your job is to find the thief, or thieves and capture them.
Mack decided to go and get his Lucky Charms after completing the two missions that he had completed. He had a nice supply of ryo going now, he wanted more. He went and purchased the Lucky Charms, he was ravenous. He ate the whole box in one sitting. Feeling fulfilled and a bit stuffed, Mack made his way back to the jounin to take some more missions, he wanted more money, he loved the feeling of cash in his pocket. He had seldom felt it before. With a new confident strut in his stride, Mack approached the same jounin, once again.
“Hey man, can I have another mission?” he asked.
“Man, you sure are eager,” the jounin said chuckling “Tell you what, do all of these and I’ll give you a ton of money, deal?” He said, handing Mack a stack of papers.
“Deal,” Mack replied, smirking. He was ready to take all of these and make bank. Mack examined the first paper in the stack, it said something about a thief stealing people’s belongings, Mack was supposed to catch the thief or thieves. This was easy enough. Mack activated his byakugan, he was now able to see through solid objects, see chakra, and see for a mile in every direction. Mack strolled through the village for a little bit, looking for any activity that seemed suspicious. Mack saw none at first, walking through various neighborhoods and checking to see if anyone was breaking into houses or anything of the sort, Mack confirmed that nobody was. Then Mack got an idea, maybe the people complaining meant that they were being stolen from in person on the street! Mack decided to look out for this. Mack walked some more, eventually, with his byakugan, Mack saw the chakra signature of 2 boy’s using a team strategy to pickpocket an elderly women. These boys would be easy to apprehend, as they looked to be only about 12 years old. Mack body flickered towards them with immense speed, grabbing the two by the scruffs of their necks before they stole from the old woman. “Gotcha!” he would say before taking them back to the jounin to be payed for his work.

Word Count Requirements: 500

Reward: 500 ryo
Task: There is a man who wants a simple escort from Konohagakure to Sunagakure, all you have to do is travel with said man until he reaches Sunagakure and make sure he gets there safely.
After being payed for capturing the two village thieves, Mack leafed through the impressive stack of papers that he had been given, ready to complete another mission and make more money. The next piece of paper informed Mack that there was a man who wished to be escorted from Konohagakure to Sunagakure, Mack was to be his guide and make sure he got there safely. Mack was game for this, maybe the man would be wealthy and generous and even tip Mack! Mack grinned at this thought. Mack was not specifically told where to meet the man in the mission briefing paper, so he decided that the most logical place to meet him would be at the village gates, near the country borders. Mack made the short walk to the village gates, and upon arrival, saw a wealthy looking man. He was dressed in a three piece suit, and he had a walking stick and a top hat. The man was slightly overweight, Mack could tell by looking at him that he would not be able to defend himself if anything happened on their journey, this must be why the man had called for Mack.
“Hello kind sir,” Mack would say, putting on his best ‘nice guy’ face, “I’m Mack, the ninja sent here to escort you to your desired destination. Pleasure to meet you.” Mack would shake the man’s hand as he finished his sentence.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you young man,” the man would reply to Mack “Now shall we be off? I must get to Sunagakure for a meeting, and I’ve estimated that it will be about a 3 hour journey, correct?”
“Yes, I believe so,” Mack would reply as the two set off on their journey.
The first part of their journey appeared to be heavily forested, there were trees everywhere, this gave anybody or anything who was planning on attacking the pair ample room to hie and plan a sneak attack. Because of this, Mack activated his byakugan, so he could see through the trees and see everything for a mile around. He would also be able to see chakra signatures, in case any ninja approached. Mack continued to walk through the forest, the man whom he was escorting following behind him. The man looked nervous, he was constantly looking about, biting his fingernails, checking his watch, it was obvious that he was scared. He must have been a very paranoid man, hence hiring Mack to escort him to Suna. After a mile or so of walking, Mack picked up on 3 chakra signature about half a mile away. These men were approaching at a rapid place, and making much noise as they got closer. The man whom Mack was escorting had noticed. In a blur of movements, as the three men burst out of the forest, Mack quickly drew his katana and killed the three men. Blood spattered the ground and all the trees around, the men’s bodies laid on the ground where they had been slain. The man whom Mack was escorting had closed his eyes and blocked his ears for the slaughter. Mack gently calmed him down and led him the rest of the way to Sunagakure, where he was payed by the man graciously. The man was very grateful that Mack had saved his life. Mack did not know who the men he had killed were, he assumed they were just bandits. Mack made his way back to Kumogakure to continue the rest of his missions
