Mission details
Damn villagers. I mean how stupid do you have to be. A simple process as old as time. You pay a bad guy, not to do bad things. They lie to you and say your “protecting” them from other bad guys. Everybody knows it’s a lie, but you know what you do it anyway because that’s how the hell its supposed to work. All of this was on Maku’s mind as he was walking out of Iwagakure, and to the village that was supposed to be funding him. Worst of it all was they thought that hiring some piece of shit ninja was going to save them. Of course it wasn’t, Maku was going to go down there, mind rape him with genjutsu, slit his throat, rough some people up, and guess what get his money. This whole life of crime thing was still kind of new to him, but it wasn’t that hard to pick up. You just do what you want and ignore the feelings and concerns of others. O and always put yourself first. Very very simple if you asked him. Slinging his pack of his shoulder, he started walking. It’d take him roughly 2 hours to walk there. He could have just body flickered in, but he wanted to give the villagers something he could not. Hope. And then he was going to take it, have his way with it, and throw it on the ground in front of them.
The road was all dirt. No obvious footprints lined the road, and it seemed he was literally traveling on the road less traveled. Busting out at his own wit Maku continued walking alone, singing all the way. He missed this sometimes. He liked Tori, but every now and then it was good to be alone and to ones self. He sang an old song that he had picked up in Takigakure, about waterfalls and the beuty of the landscape. The song went from high notes to low notes, and cascaded in-between. It’s as if the notes took on the flow of a waterfall themselves. He sang and danced a bit as he walked. An outsider would look at Maku and really question the mind behind it. Maku always had a happy demeanor, and sang and danced like life was a game. However he could do all these things right after he humiliated a bandit and slit his throat, letting the other bandits watch him do it, so they would know not to call singing stupid anymore. All the same, Maku enjoyed his work no matter what it was. Continuing on with his walk, he noticed the lack of wild life, usually an ominous sign, but he wasn’t too worried yet.
Making camp, Maku decided to give the villagers one more night of hope. He would be sure to get some back pay for all this, but for now it was fine. Setting up his camp fire, he went and found some wood to make the camp a little bit more homey. Once he had enough fire proof to keep the fire lit, he found some larger logs that he could sit on as a nice seat. While sitting he prepared his lunch and got ready to eat. Just as he was about to begin a new arrival came and had a seat next to him. Maku really didn’t even bother to look over, instead he threw out his chakra senses to the full 100 meters all around him, scanning over the entire landscape. He was confident that no one else was around and it was just he and this stranger. Admittedly this ninja had a lot of chakra, which is how he knew he was indeed a ninja. Looking over for the first time, he saw a man of medium age, medium build and overall not remarkable. Though his chakra was higher than normal, so Maku supposed that was something after all.
“Hows it going friend.” Is how Maku would great this stranger. He still hadn’t made any moves or actions against him nor had the man done to him so there was no reason they couldn’t be civil about the whole thing. “What brings you this far into no mans land. The stranger slowly turned his head and looked at Maku for the first time. He was scarred up and roughed up. He had surely seen the wrong end of one or two fights to many. In a gruff voice than man spoke. “Mumhhh heading to a muhmhh village, mhhmum work, or something mhum.” The man had a weird way of speaking, having to mumble ever other word it seemed like. Probably from taking a punch to the throat or something. Maku wondered if this was the guardian, but that didn’t make much sense. He had heard the guardian was already in the village. Maybe they were springing more of his cash to buy more hired help. Maku felt his grin slide off his face. That was his money, and he was not pleased that the villagers were being so gracious with it. “SO you are hired muscle aye, me to. I hear there’s already another guy there know anything about him?”
The man looked him up and down. He wasn’t sure if the man would believe him or not, not that it mattered. This man would die tonight either way. So whatever, Maku started to eat. To him the man was already dead, it was logical and sound at that. Taking a large bite he waited for the man to speak. Maybe his brain was addled and that’s why the man wasn’t talking yet. O well, if he didn’t speak in the next few seconds he never would again. “Mhumuhum didn’t mhum know there was mhumm another man here.” Ok this was getting no where. This piece of shit didn’t know anything, and Maku was already tired with him. This wasn’t exactly stimulating conversation. Dashing over, Maku drew his knige, and in one swift motion, he sliced the mans head off, turned his back and resheathed his blade. Walking over and sitting, he didn’t even realize at first that the mans dead body had disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Maku had noticed, but it wasn’t with enough to react to what happened next. First there came a dull thud, then some lights popped in front of his eyes. After that he felt himself flying through the air, rolling over the fire, and winding up on the other end of the camp site. The other ninja was standing on the other side of the camp site. He was taking a stance, a taijutsu fighter? He had an awful high chakra level to be that, but Maku just laid there for a second. Hiding his embarrassment. As the man approached though, he body flickered up into the tree. Looking down the man was looking side to side. Clearly he wasn’t as fast or as trained as Maku was. Leaping down from the tree, his blade went straight through the others skull. But damnit if he didn’t disappear again and Maku felt another thud, and flew a couple meters. Standing up, he looked around trying to find where the other ninja had gotten to. These were shadow clones, and what was more, he was making them and substituting with them so fast, Maku couldn’t even use his chakra senses to find him.
Sighing, maybe he should run a different track. Whistling, he saw Tricky come out of the brushes, and walk to him. Bending over he picker her up and placed him on his head. What was with him putting animals on his head. Mmm wonder if it was some kind of weird thing that he should think about sometime. O well, it was time to worry about the fight. You know he really should stop doing these mid battle musings, theyd probably be danger…….. BAM, Maku felt another punch to the side of his face, but what hurt worse was the skunk Tricky, digging her claws into his scalp to hang on. This time, Maku caught himself and landed on his feet, sprinting in the direction the pain was on his face, he arrived, nailing the other ninja in the gut. And this time the hit landed. At the same time, Tricky sprayed her spray all over the other ninja, and Maku didn’t miss a beat. Activating his jutsu, the Noxius Miasma of the Mind took effect. MAku could tell just by the look on the mans face. He looked like he was going to vomit, and as he vanished, Maku thought he heard the sound of retching. Maku took this moment to sit and begin eating.
Maku knew the next strike wouldn’t come. This man didn’t have the stomach for the fight, pun intended. This special jutsu was a pure stamina drain. It would wear out even the best ninja quickly. Once he was sick enough and fell over, then Maku would reengage. For now though he could sit, and rub his sore jaw as he chewed up his food. It wasn’t long until there was a faint, plop sound, and Maku knew the fight was over. Well it was always over, just a matter of time. Walking over to were the sound had come from, he saw the body of the ninja collapsed on the ground. He was out cooled, wore our from the genjutsu he had been placed under. Rolling the man over he went through his pockets, but the guy was bare. How disappointing the villagers didn’t even pay him in advance. It was kinda disappointing if they were going to use other people’s money, they at least should do it right and get rid of it before they came back. Brining out his knife, he slit the mans throat and watched him water the grass in red. Letting Tricky down, he let his pet taste meat tonight. Walking back, he struck up a song on his harmonica, and slept better than he had in a couple days. It passed as a not so interesting night from there.
Waking up, Maku exited his tent and rolled his sleeping bag. Stretching his back he thought he had slept well, but apparently his aching back had other things to say about it. Packing the rest of his stuff up, he began walking towards the village again. He would arrive shortly and then he could get to the bottom of this whole thing. Itd be easy tot ake the appearance of that other ninja. Mumble like he did. But where was the fun in that. He would rather just walk in and see what was going down. After all he had used some other appearance last time he was there. Now he looked like a bearded priest, so he would at the least look different. After another couple minutes, he came upon the gate and walked right in. It was left wide open, and people didn’t stop priests for some reason. It was kind of odd, just because of someone’s life style people judged them easily or more hard. But that didn’t mean he wouldn’t take advantage of it, when he could anyway. Looking around he tried to find this big ninja. Using his chakra senses there was nothing to be seen. The bastard probably was using chakra suppression if he had to guess. Looking from side to side, he tried to do it the old fashion way and pick the shinobi out. This also didn’t seem to work however. Who ever he was, he was doing a good job at hiding. Strolling over to a food cart, he purchased some food, and took a seat. He would wait and see what was going to happen. AS the time passed more and more villagers came into the town square. Perhaps there was some kind of village meeting that was going to go on tonight. Looking a man had stood on some kind of make shift podium, good god it was actually a soap box. This had been a very pun and ironic filled day.
Maku watched as the man gave a very nice speech. It involved how they were free to do as they choose. They didn’t have to live under the threat of villainy and corruption. They were free people, to do as they pleased without the fear of tyranny. All and all, it was a good speech he had to give him props for that. But to bad. Taking out a kunai, he flitted in front of the man, and sliced right through his neck. Grabbing his hair he hung on tight, and let the little bit of skin rip that had held the mans body to his head. As the body fell limp, he had the mans head still in his hand. After a few seconds for dramatic effect, he let it fall. “This is the only result one receives when one steps from their station to the one above it. Please, why are you afraid, you pay some money and things like this don’t happen, its nothing to lose your head about.” Maku looked around at the villagers; well if that wasn’t an entrance then he wasn’t sure what was. Looking around he still hadn’t been attacked by a ninja, kind of disappointing.
The villagers were all taking off, running like crazy people. Apperantly he had done something to upset all of them. Tricky was purring or making some kind of pleasure noise from his jacket. She had taken a liking to human meat, and apparently she thought she was going to be fed. Kind of creepy, but whatever he had other things to work for at the moment. Finally someone stepped from the crowd and hurled a fire ball from their mouth at him. Well he had asked for a change of pace, and here it was. Performing a matrix style dodge, he leaned back and watched the fire pass over head, before body flickering infront of the other ninja, and throwing a right haymaker for his face. However the other ninja would dodge, ducking down, and throwing a left sucker punch to Maku’s midsection, which he was able to catch between his left arm and body. With the other ninjas arm pinned, he reared back and head butted his head. Breaking the mans nose, he felt the other slip loose and dash backwards away from the fray. Apparently he had made an impression.
Taking stock of the man, he saw a giant shark bullet thing flying at him. Damn what was with this guy and projectiles. Once again he dodged, but this time his opponent was the one taking advantage of the momentary pause. He was already throwing sevral punches and kicks, and each one connected. Maku felt his body bruise and give with each blow. However Maku absorbed a couple, and then saw the oponening. A slightly to high kick, left him open. Ducking the kick Maku grabbed the mans leg. One hand distal and one hand right above the knee. With his full strength he brought it down, forcing the full mans body to come forward. Which Maku had rotated to bring the mans face into his elbow. Again he felt a crunch as the mans broken nose got even more broken. Not that it much mattered wasn’t like he was going to live through this anyway. This time however Maku didn’t give him a break, rushing after he low balled him, and shoved a elbow right into his privates. The man immediately doubled over. Grabbing the mans kneck, and twisting he pulled him over head and smashed him onto the ground. His next blow would crack the man’s sternum.
The man was gasping for air now. He was a fairly strong ninja, Maku had to give him that. Most of this fight had been won by taijutsu, instead of making it a chakra war. Lucky for Maku as this guy seemed to have some decent chakra control. Pulling out his wakizashi he prepared for the kill. Going down, he severed the mans aorta in one quick blow, and it was all over. The life force drained form the ninja, his eyes glassed over, and the man was gone from this world. Whistling Maku allowed Tricky out of his jacket and the skunk ate her fill. While Tricky was busy with that shininangans, Maku walked around the village. Putting up a hidden mist he proceded to smash carts, and destroy stuff. No one had seen him make the kill. Once everything was thoroughly smashed up, he let the mist dissipate. Walking back to the middle of town, he let out a yell. “EVERYONE COME OUT OR I WILL BE FORCED TO TAKE FURTHER ACTION AGAINST YOU!” With that people began to come forth and gather around the podium. He looked them over. Weak most of them, obviously if they wanted to if all attacked hima t once hed be forced out of town. Because of their fear however he would be free to do as he pleased which suited him just fine of course. “Go and prepare the money you owe me, plus why don’t we double it for inconvience fee.” He smiled “But don’t worry I will play you all a song while I wait and that should make the mood a little brighter, lets just round it to a cool 3000 ryo and I wont decapitate anyone else.”
Maku took a seat and began playing a tune on his harmonica. Maybe he should start writing his own songs, that could be fun. As he thought about it, people would walk up and drop their ryo. An older gentleman presumably the mayor, was left to count the money. It was a laborious task, and Maku was glad he didn’t have to do it. Though it did seem to drag on an on, lasting forever. But in time, it happened and the full amount was brought before him. Grabbing a satchel for the money he stuffed it all inside, not bothering to count it. If he had to come back he would take all the money in the village, he felt like that was made clear. But one further task might show them he was serious. Walking up to the mayor, he gently pushed his knife through the mans stomach mid hand shake, and watched as he fell over. Pointing towards a 10 year old boy, “This boy is your new mayor, do as he says, if you don’t Ill be back” And with that he body flickered out for dramatic effect. Overall a good day. He had gotten some practice in, killed some worthless shinobi and had made 3000 ryo. One day he would have to destroy that whole little spit of a village, but that was for a different day. For now he started his long walk back to Iwagakure, for some rest and relaxation. He would have to tell Youka how this had gone, to bad he didn’t bring him. Youka always loved a good fight, or was it he always loved a massacre, he couldn’t remember. Whatever the case, Maku began to sing on his way back as Tricky followed behind him.

(WC = 3210, 8 stats=400ryo for being at max stats)
