Learning HAKI
Tue Aug 18, 2015 1:35 pm
Mako decided that it was time to step up his game above what he had been doing, he was close to unlocking ash element he could feel it and he knew that with ash element he was capable of making massive smokescreens beyond the capability of the hidden mist and their giant mist clouds. Learning how to make clouds that most people can't see through could make him a necessity on the front line especially if he could learn an ability to allow himself to see through it, he wondered what was out there. He had heard of shinobi capable of sensing things from a distance and in his village there was byakugan but he did not have a clue what kind of ability he could use to sense enemies in his nearby vicinity. He had tried several times to sense things of his own accord using chakra but to no avail. He still hadn't manifested the ability to draw in nature chakra and even when he could do that he didn't know how good he might be at it. He needed sensory perception or ash cloud mayhem would be a wasted ability.
Mako stood and looked down at himself a scar, on the right of his torso from his fight with Cole and burn marks from where he went too far into his chakra core and burnt himself. He had learned more in the last couple of weeks than he had learned in his whole life. He knew why that was, it was entirely due to his determination. He discovered what he wanted to do and what role in the village he would fill, because of that he was motivated. He needed to learn a new ability allowing him to sense enemies in his close proximity and needed to discover how to do that. He saw his perfectly muscled dark skinned frame and well built muscles lining his arm and legs, he knew that he was becoming perfect. He walked over to his drawer and pulled out a T shirt and some pants, he had hoped the training wouldnt be overly difficult and time consuming because he was looking for a day to take it easy at some point and hoped the ability he could learn today would be less intense.
After getting dressed he left and headed down to a food place to take a second and fill his stomach. It didn't matter to him what food he ate as long as he didnt get hungry while he was actually training. The market smelled great this time of day, many different varieties of food and other delectable treats. He stopped into a barbeque and ordered some meat and a tea. As he sat there he thought about what abilities can be used to help him with his sensory ability. He picked up a piece of steak from the grill and stuffed it in his mouth, he thought about how the training area occasionally had people on it but likely not enough to truly try anything. Then he thought about the village there were plenty of people to try and detect mentally, however it may be too many to accurately test. He picked up the final piece and wandered around town, he thought he might visit the library and see about any techniques worth learning there.
He made his way to the library a decently large domed building thith steps that lead up and down, there were a ton of books, some recreational, some that were about history and on the bottom floor were all of the jutsu scrolls. Most genin were not allowed on the bottom level without a chuunin or higher escort because many genin had a very bad habit of trying the jutsus down there and it tends to get disastrous. In addition Mako heard rumors there were forbidden jutsu located down there.and they wanted to avoid those falling into the wrong hands. He walked down the steps and was met by a sentry who looked like he was willing to stop him, Mako waved and slipped past quickly hoping that the guard wouldn't question his rank due to his age. He didnt receive any issues on his way down.
He investigated amonst the many scrolls set up decoratively and organized based on power, element, and type. He looked through them until he found the sensory type shelf and he looked all through them. Discarding many of them due to the fact that they had high requirements or even limited to bloodlines or specialties. He needed one that he could learn, and after pulling out and opening every scroll in here that was related to sensory type abilities he had still had not found one. That was when his mind took him back to being a child and he remembered:
Flashback
"He walked down a narrow bridge leading to a pier and there were fisherman walking all about hauling in catches and shouting obscenities. He held his fathers hand as his father walked him down the narrow pier. He couldn't have been any more than 10 at the time and some of the fisherman looked really big and scary. He clung on to his fathers robes and they eventually made their way to a medium sized keel boat there were about 5 people keeling about on it. The captain noticed his fathers approach and stepped down handing his father the scroll. Its was small and had strange markings with the only words he could understand being "Haki". His father placed the scroll into his pocket and then handed the fisherman a small golden stone not sure what it was but it appeared extremely valuable. They then turned and left the the pier the fisherman on the boat they just left cheering and whopping very loudly. He looked up at his father who seemed quite pleased with the transaction, and Mako knew whatever was in there was good."
"Later at their house they sat around the table and Mako asked "Father what is Haki?". His father said nothing for a moment then said "It is an ability developed by non shinobi to perceive enemies and other peoples emotions. It does not utilize chakra so it does not drain you when you use it. In addition it is very good for helping ninja in a situation where they cannot rely on their other senses and need to be able to perceive enemies in their surroundings". His dad then smiled he said "i bought the Haki scroll from an outsider so that it could be used in our village but have decided that its too powerful of an ability to let out so i learned it and hid it where noone would find it.""
Mako smiled sitting on the library floor surrounded by discarded half opened scrolls, he realized exactly where the Haki scroll was hidden. His father always said "Where no one will find it" that was always where his father hid the toys he wasnt allowed to play with and other things he wanted to keep out of Mako's hands. He now realized that, that was a hint left to him long ago so he could find and learn the Haki. He mustve meant for the Haki to be a family secret all along and Mako had not realized it at his age.
Mako stood and sped out of the library leaving the scrolls scattered upon the floor and passing the guard. The guard started yelling things about cleaning up his mess but Mako was not paying attention he was far too distracted to even care at this point he needed the Haki so he could continue with making his Ash element all that he wanted it to be. He rushed back toward his house, he leaped to the roof tops and looked for where the Sarutobi clan house hold was and ran as fast as he could in that direction. He knew exactly where the Haki scroll was hidden he jumped the last roof onto his family home's roof and slid down. He landed in the training area where the dummies were set up and saw his father practicing on the dummies. He waved and his father waved back deciding to wait and find out why his son was in such a hurry.
Mako raced out to a small shed that was toward the back and came to a screeching halt in front of it. He opened the small door on it and climbed in it was quite cramped and full of junk. He climbed over barrels and other things til he reached the ceiling of the small shed. There was a small compartment in the roof of the shed, Mako slid it aside and found a veritable treasure trove of things that he had forgotten about because once he became a genin he stopped playing with toys and apparently his father kept hiding stuff even though he stopped looking for his missing things. He moved things aside and out of the way until he saw it, the small dusty scroll that just simply read Haki on it. He scrambled for it and when he had finally reached it, he grabbed it in his hand as he felt whatever he was standing on tumble and give way.as he fell and rolled back out of the door. He could hear his father cackle at his less than graceful fall, but Mako didn't care he had found what his father laid out for him long ago as a kid. He jumped up and ran back he knew where he would go to train this jutsu. Hokage Rock there were always people mulling about nearby. He ran past and said "Thanks dad" and sped off down to the direction of Hokage Rock. He ran full pace he had gotten much more stamnin built up since his training began and he wasn't feeling fatigued in the least he was too excited.
He began his ascent up the Mountain, it was very steep, As he ascended he activated his wall wallking surface scaling jutsu that he had learned in the academy as a genin requirement. He brought one hand up and latched on pushing upward with his leg, then did the same with the other hand making incredible strides up the mountain. With the chakra infused into his hand s and feet he had little difficulty, He remembered the words spoken to him by his father. To hone the body one must hone the mind and to hone the mind one must hone the body. And this was a practice that he very well planned on doing. He climbed all the way to the top and pulled himself over the edge he was exhausted which he assumed would help in advancing the training that he was currently embarked on. He pulled a cigarette out of his back pouch and struck the match against his leg, he was now very dirty, and lit the cigarette taking a huge drag. He needed to smoke both because he couldnt concentrate very well needing on and also because he was excited about the training of the Kenuboshu Haki.
Mako untied the summoning scroll from around the back of his waist and it rolled out he didnt even notice he was already beginning to sit in a cross legged position with his hands folded in front of him. He began reading the scroll It gave very advanced instructions, and had nothing to do with chakra control. The instructions informed the user on how to open ones mind and to empathize with other people and how to attune your mind to allow yourself to envision them. Allow their emotions to fully flow through you and allow yourself to become one with the people around you. It was a very strange skill considering it seemed like it would require some form of chakra control to allow it to work however it didnt it just involved honing ones instincts and concentration to allow you to channel your focus on searching for other people nearby.
He closed his eyes and sat with his legs crossed. He placed his hands on his knees and followed the instructions. They told him to look out and expand his senses and to see everything possible He could see through his minds eye focusing and innately reading other peoples emotions and he could sense people from far off. He saw that there were about 30 people not too far away and could see auras surrounding them betraying their emotions and their feelings. He could also see people and predict their actions and reactions. It was like seeing things for the first time. Everyone he could sense was draped in an aura. And it was like seeing these people doing what they were planning on doing before they even did it
He sensed all of the ninja in the vilage out to a certain point and could feel, not their chakra but their hearts and souls and could feel as they felt. It was a power that he not only needed to make himself a greater ninja but a greater person. He could empathize with anyone and help them. MAko stood still concentrating when all of a sudden he felt a prescence behing him and he leaped skyward as a spinning shuriken passed harmlessly under him. He saw the red stripes spiraling around knowing it was Sushma who had somehow appeared and decided to test the ability out on him. Mako was one with people he could sense their attacks and he knew that he could proceed with his ash jutsu and make himself more powerful going forward. He walked back down the rock still using his extrasensory ability to watch everyone. He made his way home and felt a rumble in his belly. He stopped for a bite to eat and went back to his apartment to continue focusing on what he had learned today.
He sat in his room for a while meditationg over his training. The sensing of auras and emotions in other people. He took off his shirt and discarded it picking up the food he had just purchased. He began eating it. He put the first mouthful in his mouth when a thought passed through his mind, WOuld this ability work through walls or opaque surfaces, if not then all of his training was for nothing. He took another bite and decided he would try. He focused through the wall of his apartment to where the cute girl who lived next to him might be. He tried to read her emotions, he saw he tall slender frame standing twirling back and forth in one spot. He could see her aura and realized she was comforted and relaxed in a state of calm. MAko coughed up the bite of food and realized she was taking a shower. He felt like a perv but he appreciated that little test because it allowed him to know that this jutsu was the jutsu he needed to learn to help. He laid back in his couch with his arms behind his head his finely toned muslcles bulging out and his darkly complected skin glistening from sweat he lit the cigarette he pulled out and put his arm back under his head. He inhaled a large amount of smoke and blew it out, the cloud filling the room. He concentrated on the cloud of smoke knowing that one day it would be much larger and the enemies of the leaf would regret ever having met him.

Lol thank you. Just one thing though, the Haki app states you need to learn the skill in stages. So it would be 1k for tier 3, 1.5k for tier 2 and 2k for tier 1 making the total learning. Wc 4.5k. So now you're going to need to decide how much you want to put towards the skill. If you add 500 more words, you can claim tier 3 and 2. <3
