Show Me What You've Got (NK, IO)

Walking down the heart of the village, she looked around, stealing glances at the three genin around her. Taking in the noise produced by the busy street, she closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again, staring straight ahead. It has been an hour or so since their first meeting and they are now heading to the training grounds for a spar amongst the three genin followed by a small test by her. She knew for a fact that the spar will most probably tire them out, but that’s okay, she has already taken that into consideration. The test will be nothing compared to the spar, honestly. The only reason she has decided to create a little obstacle training was only to test their teamwork; It is for her to see the areas in which they will need to put more work in as a team, be it communication, collaboration, or coordination. By knowing which area(s) they will need to work on, it will make it easier for her to lead (and maybe even teach) them in order to fix those area which in turn will enable them to work together harmoniously, which is basically the whole point of this whole teaming up thing. By discovering one’s strength(s) and weakness(es), it will enable the team to work together harmoniously by enhancing each other’s strength(s) and covering up the weakness(es). They will also get a chance to improve both their strengths and weaknesses, which is always a good thing. Either way, all that matters is that they do their best because there is no need to impress her. They would get nothing by impressing her anyway — no special treatment, no extra attention, nada. There shall be equality.

Arriving at the training grounds, she walked towards a tree and turned towards the boys. “You may start whenever you are ready~ I will be watching from up there,” The kunoichi would say before pointing towards a tree branch. And with that, the kunoichi jumps up towards the said branch before landing softly on her feet. Plopping down on to it, she lets her feet dangle off of the branch before looking around for a perfect place in which she will be setting up her little obstacle test. Looking into a distance, she waits for the boys to start their sparring session.

Kotsuzui followed his sensei along side his two teammates as they headed over to the training grounds. They were going to have the much anticipated spar that Kotsuzui has been waiting for since the beginning of the day. Though now there was also going to be some kind of test held afterwards prepared by their sensei. Due to the test being right after, Kotsuzui was going to have to preserve some of his energy during the spar to be sure that he would have enough later. But he was afraid that he would get way too into the fight and expend all of his energy. There was no point in worrying about it now, as it was something he would concern himself with once he was there. At the moment, he strolled behind with his arms behind his head and dragging his bare feet across the floor.

Sooner than later, the four of them found themselves in the training grounds. Ayumi let them know that she was going to be sitting on top of a tree branch form a vantage point to view the spar and that they could begin whenever they were ready. Kotsuzui would position himself so that both Kisuke and Jin were in his eye sight. Assuming the other two had done the same, it would end up leading to the three of them standing in some kind of triangular position. Kotsuzui looked over to Jin as he taunted for one of his teammates to attack first (from previous thread). Kotsuzui formed the tiger seal with his left hand as he held out his right hand to the side. Shortly after an earth staff rose form the ground and Kotsuzui grabbed it pulling it from the ground. "Here, I'll use this as to not break that wooden thing dangling off your hip" Kotsuzui said as he began twirling his staff around him. He stopped twirling it in his right hand as it went up the length of his back, waiting to see if a move was made.

Kisuke casually walked down and through the streets of Konoha with the other members of his Genin team. His back perfectly strait as he strode forward, Kisuke's hands were hidden within the confinements of his leather black jacket and a fresh long white cigarette stuck out of his mouth. Walking in the back of the group so that none of his allies or sensei would have to inhale the second hand smoke from his cigarette, Kisuke slowly eyed the back of both his allies. The moment Kisuke was waiting for and probably the other two as well was finally about to arrive. Kisuke was finally goin to fight Yamanaka Jin and Kaguya Kotsuzui and this fight was finally going to settle things. It was going to determine who was the strongest of the three. Kisuke felt that he was the strongest of the Gennin group despite being the youngest and despite having no Sharingan , which he had not told them about yet. However, winning this fight would finally out matters to an end and hopefully prevent Kotsuzui from badgering him all the time. 

At last, they were at the training ground. Although Kisuke was calmly smoking his cigarette, he was way too anxious to get this fight started. Slowly grabbing the cigarette with his thumb and index finger, Kisuke would take one last large inhale from it before throwing it onto the dirt ground and crushing it with the sole of his black boot. Exhaling the pale white fumes from his longs, Kisuke took a few steps backwards as Kotsuzui did in order to get both of his allies into view. Pulling his other hand out of his pocket and sliding his left foot a few inches backwards, Kisuke bent his knees ever so slightly while darting his gaze from one person to the other. Looking over at Jin he though "I should probably take him out first. If he can read my mind he'll know what I'm doing before I do it. Also cant let him take over my body." Looking over towards Kotsuzui, Kisuke though "Then that'll leave me to kick his ass without any distractions." Kisuke though over his plan of attack as he waited for every to get ready before it put it to work.

ooc: Gonna skip Jin's turn

Kotsuzui stood there for a few moments which felt like an eternity. Neither Kisuke nor Jin had made a move. It looks like it would be up to Kotsuzui to make the first move. Flipping his stick around and grabbing it with both his hands, Kotsuzui decided Kisuke would be his first victim. Doing a full 360 spin and twirling in Kisuke's direction, Kotsuzui swung the end of his earth staff aimed right for his face. Kotsuzui knew the strike would not make contact. Once Kotsuzui came back to a position where he was facing the Uchiha, he began a fury of strikes at Kisuke spinning his earth staff left and right mixing in strikes to his arms, legs, and head in between his tricks. Whether they hit Kisuke or not Kotsuzui did not care for he was simply checking to see where Kisuke was at in his hand to hand combat, how fast he was and how agile he could be in dodging the strikes. Kotsuzui noticed Kisuke had no activated his sharingan so getting an idea of his base strength would be good.

Remaining motionless with his arms bent and raised before his chest and both legs slightly bent for quick movement, Kisuke patiently waited for someone else to make the first move. Kisuke was a passive fighter and preferred fighting from a distance. The young Uchiha felt he could end the fight now if he wanted to but he want to see what his allies could do first, keep things interesting. So he waited, and waited, and waited. What took seconds seemed to take minutes but Kisuke remained patient and waited, figuring Kotsuzui would make the first move. And he was proven right.

The second the Kaguya spun his stick around, showing that he was commencing his assault Kisuke activated his Flicker Movement technique. Shifting his eyes and stance towards the now charging Kotsuzui. Kotsuzui was surprisingly fast and his strike was to fast to counter, all Kisuke could try doing was avoid the bone cracking strike. Standing still and unmoving, only watching Kisuke swiftly ducked the first blow. Simultaneously during the duck Kisuke would clap his hands together and descending as low towards the ground as possible. Slapping the palms of his hands onto the ground, suddenly the earth bellow Kotsuzui would shift and rise. Although the speed of the jutsu was slow, the sudden shift in the ground under Kotsuzui would hopefully throw him off balance and throw off his next swing. The earth would continue rising into the air, creating separation between Kisuke and Kotsuzui.

As the moving earth core continued to rise, Kisuke began quickly pacing backwards and away from Kotsuzui to put more distance between the two of them. "Hes too fast. Without my sharingan I have to keep him away from me." Kisuke though to himself. During his slight retreat he would quickly perform the boar - rat seals and activate Mist Servant Technique. To Kotsuzui's eyes, all around Kisuke one at a time, exact lookalikes would start appearing out from behind near by trees and behind large boulders that littered the training ground. Now about 20 yards away from Kotsuzui, the phantom clones of Kisuke would slowly approach him, 10 of them in total. Hopefully losing himself within the look alike clones, they would slowly start making their way towards Kotsuzui.

Kotsuzui's first swing missed, Kisuke ducking under it. He noticed Kisuke slap his hands together and place them on top of the surface. "He can use doton also?" Kotsuzui asked himself, knowing which jutsu he was going to use because Kotsuzui also knew it, unless there was another jutsu which used the sequence to use it. The shift in the ground did not make him lose his balance, though he did not continue his attacking with his earth staff because it had begun to crumble to bits from being over used. At the moment he decided to stay on the earth as it lifted him into the air, allowing it to take him to its full 20ft because he wanted to see what Kisuke had planned. "He didn't even activate his sharingan and he was able to evade my attack. Looks like I'm going to have to kick it up a notch, get him to use that Sharingan of his" the Kaguya said to himself as he slight grin spread across his face, the thrill for a fight coursing through his veins.

Kotsuzui watched as Kisuke began creating space between the two of them, about to use another jutsu. To his surprise, exact replicas of Kisuke began walking out of random spots on the training ground, and being 20ft in the air Kotsuzui had a good vantage point to see all ten of them come out and surround him. What kind of trickery was this, was it a genjutsu? or had Kisuke learned a new, stronger version of the clone jutsu? Either way, Kotsuzui was not going to be fooled by Kisuke's maneuvers. Kisuke may have forgotten, but on their very first mission together Kotsuzui placed a mark seal on his shoulder which at the moment was still there. Thus, Kotsuzui knew which one was the real Kisuke by being able to track his position with that basic sealing jutsu.

"Nice try pal" Kotsuzui whispered as he lifted his right hand, no longer holding the staff because it completely crumbled, and pointed his pointer and middle finger right at the real Kisuke. Shortly after, he fired two bone bullets made from his finger tips right at Kisuke. Having judged his speed from their minor interaction before, Kotsuzui wanted to see how fast he really was and this jutsu would help show him as the two bullets flew through the air aimed for Kisuke's right shoulder. If the bullets made contact, Kotsuzui made sure it wasn't a lethal strike as it would be a through and through. Though it would definitely make it harder to for him to perform basic actions.

Kisuke was successful in creating space between himself and Yensung. Once the earth core had reached its maximum heigh of 20 ft, Kisuke had already created space between him and his Kaguya ally. Now with his Genjutsu clones surrounding him, Kisuke waited for Kotsuzui to come and attack him close range so he could use the Genjutsu to its fullest potential. Standing and waiting patiently, eyes never leaving Kotsuzui's position, Kisuke watched the earth cane in his hands crumble to bits and pieces and fall down to the ground bellow. "He isnt moving." Kisuke though to himself. "Is he going to start attacking from long range because of my illusion clones?" 

Lifting his left eyebrow in confusion as Kotsuzui lifted his own arm, Kisuke wondered what the drunk was planning on doing. Kisuke's eyes opened wide when he saw Kotsuzui shoot tiny white projectiles out from the tips of his fingers. From this distance he could not tell how many were fired but he could see that they were coming strait towards him and moving fast. However, with the distance Kisuke put between the two of them and Flicker movement still active Kisuke had enough time and the speed to avoid the deadly projectiles. Swiftly pouncing a few feet to the right, Kisuke would dodge roll on the ground. Avoiding the bullets, they would smash and cut into one of the phantom clones standing behind Kisuke. The phantom clone would fall to the ground and die, but out of it two phantom clones would rise, giving Kisuke an additional clone (11). Standing back up onto his feet, Kisuke would slowly begin moving forward with his pack of phantom clones surrounding and following him. 

"You're going to have to do better than that you drunk." Kisuke yelled as he pulled out a kunai and exploding tag from the pouch on his back waist, hidden by his leather black jacket. Kisuke made sure to place himself behind one of the phantom clones so that his actions were concealed from Kotsuzui. Once Kisuke closed about half the distance between the two of them, from behind the illusion of his clones Kisuke would unexpectedly swing his arm sideways across his chest and launch the kunai forward. The tag taking flame in the air, the kunai would stab into the top of the raised earth the Kaguya was standing on. The exploding tag would set off, blowing up the raised platform of earth. Shooting up a cloud of dust as blocks of earth were sent out in every direction. Kisuke threw the kunai as a distraction, a means to get Kotsuzui off the high ground and back onto an even fighting level. It was not meant to harm Kotsuzui but if the concussive force did manage to damage him, even better.

Kisuke managed to dodge the bone bullets that were fired at him, showing that the Uchiha had some agility even without the use of his sharingan. Even at that, Kotsuzui wanted his partner to activate his sharingan, he wanted to fight the Uchiha at his best. The Kaguya was caught off guard when he saw the clone that got hit multiply into two more. This had to be an illusion, unless Kisuke had learned some kind of clone jutsu that allowed them to split once hit. Now he knew, avoid contact with the clones. Kotsuzui could see Kisuke had moved behind one of his clones to hide himself, possibly use the clone as cover from more long ranged attacks. "You don't want to see me drunk my friend" Kotsuzui said with a sly grin on his face. Out of no where he saw Kisuke swing his arm releasing a kunai. Kotsuzui could tell the kunai was not aimed for him and watched as it stabbed itself into the earth core. Shortly after Kotsuzui noticed the exploding tag lit on fire causing him to reflexively jumped backwards off of the earth core. He managed to evade the initial explosion, but the shock wave knocked him off balance while in the air.

Having jumped back, Kotsuzui was blocked off from Kisuke's line of sight, though some of his clones may be able to see him. Upon landing on the ground, instead of smashing against it and injuring his back the Kaguya sunk right into it almost like he had just landed into water. Sicne the original Kisuke's vision would be blocked off by the smoke and rubble of the explosion he would have no idea where Kotsuzui really was, unless his phantoms could communicate with him. The neat thing about this jutsu was that even though Kotsuzui was under ground he knew where Kisuke was, also remembering where Kisuke was positioned in relevance to the other clones.

Making his way over to Kisuke, Kotsuzui burst out of the ground behind Kisuke. Once he had fully emerged from the ground Kotsuzui spun around preforming Leaf Gale as he attempted to sweep Kisuke off of his feet. If successful, Kotsuzui would rise up and kick Kisuke with the same leg he used for the taijutsu while he hung in the air after having been swept. If the kick collided Kotsuzui had enough strength to send Kisuke a few feet away from him. Whether Kotsuzui's attack was successful or Kisuke managed to evade it, Kotsuzui would stand his ground both to see what Kisuke's next move would be and to see if his clones were capable of attacking, seeing as how he just put himself right in the middle of the crowd.

To Kisuke's surprise, the exploding tag only caught fire once it came into contact with the raised ground and not in the air. Kisuke was sure he activated the tag with his chakra while the kunai was in mid flight but regardless, the explosion was just an attempt to break the elevated ground and perhaps hurt Kotsuzui a little with the concussive blast of the explosion. Patiently and silently Kisuke stood in between his army of illusion clones as he waited for Kotsuzui to make his next move. While he waited, suddenly he sensed that Kotsuzui was moving through the ground, probably using the mole jutsu. Coincidently, Kisuke had also placed a mark seal on the Kaguya during their team mission and therefore was also able to sense where his ally was. Sensing his movements underground, Kisuke would follow the Kaguya path with his head as he waited for him to come out of the ground.

Once Kotsuzui moved behind Kisuke, the Uchiha knew he was moving in for an unexpected sneak attack but Kisuke was prepared. Jumping a couple of meters forward, Kisuke would perform the Half-Tiger hand seal and turn around to face the now emerging Kotsuzui. Kneading flame chakra within his chest, Kisuke would simultaneously expel the chakra and shout "Fire release: Fire Stream." A cloud of flames would shoot forward from Kisuke's mouth engulfing Kotsuzui in a cone of flames. The flames were not powerful however they were not meant to be used to harm Kotsuzui. Kisuke was using it as a distraction. The flames would engulf Kotsuzui's upper body and light his clothes on fire. Now with his clothing lighting on fire and spreading, Kisuke could blend in and lose himself in his clones while his clones moves in and surrounded Kotsuzui.

With the help of the seal mark on Kisuke as well as being aware of everything on he surface while underground, Kotsuzui knew that Kisuke had jumped away from where the Kaguya was about to make his move. It was almost like the Uchiha was able to track Kotsuzui's movements. Then it hit him, Kotsuzui remembered that Kisuke had also placed a seal mark on Kotsuzui the night Kotsuzui had done so on him. Kotsuzui damned himself for forgetting such a detail, but he quickly shrugged the foolish mistake off for now he was fully emerged from the ground and Kisuke was making his move. The Uchiha released a cone of fire from his mouth as it spread out and advanced towards the Kaguya. He quickly pushed off of the ground dodge rolling to the side evading the fire breath by only a centimeter or so.

Coming to a rolling halt now knelt over, the Kaguya already had his hands together forming the bird seal. Kotsuzui proceed to slapping both his hands onto the ground, knowing where Kisuke was whether he tried to blend himself in with in clone or not. First a rock pillar with a blunt end would burst from the ground behind the Uchiha smacking him in the back. Immediately after it made contact, five more would erupt from all around Kisuke pinning him against the others creating a make shift prison to bind the Uchiha where he stood. Whether one of his clones/illusions were around him or not, they would just end up being hit by the pillars. Now knelt down with his hands on the ground, Kotsuzui looked around to see if any of the clones had finally reached him, realizing that they were quite slow in comparison to Kisuke's speed. He would wait to gadge their movements and strikes before moving around and making his way to the pinned down Uchiha and striking him.
