Training

It was a peaceful morning with not a cloud in the sky when Nano awoke from his slumber. He swiftly put on his usual black pants and white shirt then shrugged on his jacket. He walked out of the clearing in the woods he stayed in and began walking to the training grounds to get in some training before the academy begun. On the way he bought the cheapest food he could which happened to be croissant from one of the nearby bakeries. Taking small bites out of his croissant on the way while ignoring the sneers from the civilians he passed, Nano eventually arrived at the academy training grounds.
When he arrived, Nano sat down under his ordinary shady tree and opened the library book on basic medical jutsu he had borrowed. He opened the first page and read the chapter name aloud. Basic Medical Ninjutsu. The chapter read 'Basic Medical Ninjutsu is the first jutsu everybody should learn in the art of medical jutsu. This jutsu has two levels. Level one can heal shallow cuts and bruises and the second can heal fragmented bone pieces as well as shallow cuts and bruises. Level 1 is relevantly simple to learn but Level 2 is significantly harder. That is why Level 1 is classed as an E rank jutsu and Level 2 is ranked as C. To perform level one of this jutsu you must do the handsigns boar, rat then snake then channel a steady pulse of chakra into your hands and expel it into the area you wish to heal...' Nano stopped reading there as he decided to settle with just level 1 for now.
He ran through the handsigns a couple of times to remember them and once he was confident he had them down he bit his arm just enough to produce blood. Once he had done that he went through the hand signs again, boar, rat, snake and pushed his chakra to his hand making it glow. He positioned his hand above the wound and it began to scab over. For a little while anyway, after about 5 seconds of the wound being scabbed over, it went back to normal and started leaking blood again.
Nano thought over it for a little while and suddenly realised what he had been doing wrong. He had only done one initial pulse of chakra instead of slowly channeling his chakra. Fixing his mistake, Nano did the hand signs once more and channeled his chakra into his hands, making them glow, then positioned them above where he had bitten himself. After a couple of seconds, the glow from his hands transferred to the wound and made the bitemark scab over, then the glow receded completely.
He had finally finished the technique! He bit himself one more time to practice it one more time and sure enough, the glow came again and healed the wound. Nano was overwhelmed with joy because this was his very first medical jutsu. He could now help heal people! Even if it only worked on small cuts and bruises it was still something.
After that accomplishment, Nano decided he would attempt to learn one more technique he had found in the library. The Rope Escape Technique. Luckily the academy provided ropes to practice this technique with. He read through the chapter of his book focused on this technique. It said 'The Rope Escape Technique is used to, as the name suggests, escape from rope if you have been tied up. This technique uses no hand seals as if you've been tied up, you most likely won't have access to your hands. To use this technique you must push your chakra out into the air via your tenketsu and channel it into the ropes around you to push them off.
Nano began to wrap a rope around him and tied a basic knot. Once that was finished, he began to slowly push out his chakra into the ropes. At first the ropes didn't react but after a few moments the ropes began to emit a glowing blue aura. Unfortunately, the glow stopped as soon as it started. Trying again to push his chakra out, the rope glowed blue once more but it stopped again!
Not subdued by the minor failures, Nano tried again but the same thing repeated itself. Eventually Nano stopped and closed his eyes, hoping to have some sort of epiphany. After the whole of 10 minutes Nano finally realised his mistake. How could he be so ignorant?! He had the exact same problem with the other jutsu! He needed to continue to channel the chakra, not just one pulse in the beginning!
Still tied in the rope, he began to channel his chakra a final time but this time he continued to channel the chakra the entire time. Using his chakra, he pushed the ropes with all the strength he could muster and instantly the ropes collapsed around him. He had finally gotten it!
Tying himself up another time, Nano did exactly as he had last time and slowly the blue glow began to emit from the rope again. Maintaining the flow of chakra, he pushed out with all of his strength and the rope rolled harmlessly down his body. Doing the little happy dance which had become tradition for whenever he finished a jutsu, Nano picked up all of his belongings and began to walk back to his camp, putting the rope back on the way.
Halfway through his trip home, he discovered a group of 3 civilian thugs beating on a middle aged woman and her child, trying to steal her purse. Nano snuck up behind 1 of the three thugs and elbowed him in the temple, instantly knocking him unconscious. He then pulled another one of the thug's head to his knee, also knocking him out. The final thug punched the middle aged woman before running off, leaving a bruise. Nano quickly put his new jutsu to use and went through the hand signs boar, rat and snake and healed the bruise. The woman thanked him profusely before running off to the police station to report the thugs.
