A Charged Training (P/NK)

It was something that he had seen thousands of times in training. A student was hurt, sometimes pretty bad, simply out of a mistake that could have been prevented. Injuries were something that everyone had a horror story pertaining to, and in their field of work, it was really obvious why. So many people in the world were putting their lives at risk, and like so many other children, Zanshin was preparing to join them. When he kept all of this in consideration, it seemed quite clear that Medical Ninja, of which he'd seen a few, were essential to keep their world running. Chakra was powerful, any shinobi would testify to that basic fact, and just as it could destroy, it could mend flesh, start hearts, and save lives.
Zanshin didn't plan on becoming a medical ninja after his graduation (though that still was up in the air), but he did think that learning a few basic jutsu would prove quite helpful. He could envision an encounter where he and his friends were forced into a corner and they needed medical attention, and if Zanshin could help his future partners in any way, learning how to pull them out of a scenario like that was certainly one very attractive option. His eyes broke away from the book sitting on his lap as he tore himself away from his thoughts. Around him was the Academy training field that he had become quite acquainted with during his recent days spent preparing for exams. With a quiet yet excited grunt, he gently moved his notebook and lunch off of his lap to spring upward, taking a few steps toward the school to stand in the warm air.
When it came to actually deciding what to do in terms of learning a jutsu, his decision was a bit more difficult. Basic medical ninjutsu still seemed a bit far out of his reach, and though the student had taken more than a few notes during the past few hours of scouring through books, he didn't quite feel that the ability to fix minor scrapes as one to focus on at the moment. What had grabbed his eye, however, was another jutsu, one that used a change in chakra nature to administer a shock in emergency situations. That seemed more than a little useful, and the practice in changing his chakra might prove to be useful in future endeavors. So, with a little bit of preparing himself mentally, his hands clapped together. When he had attempted to make a shock between his hands, one that would be able to bring a ninja back from the brink of death, he got a few wimpy sparks and a large expenditure of energy that he wasn't prepared for.
Usually, when it came to a problem he couldn't conquer after the first attempt, he would consider throwing in the towel and putting his mind to something else. He was used to being catered to, sadly, and it was something he was trying to separate himself from during the past few days. So, when his hands hurt and fatigue tainted his body, he didn't even take a second to breathe before he was back on his feet and clapping his hands together once more. As sparks flew once more, there was a personal resolution from the boy that he wouldn't move from that spot until he could proficiently perform the jutsu.
He was going to be there for quite a while.
Yet, as the sun began to set and sweat continued to pour down his face, he felt oddly at peace. He found solace in the visual improvement that came with his training, and the better he got, the more confidence seemed to fill him. In the end, this training just felt right.
