Chronos' Whim ~Solo~
Wed Apr 12, 2017 11:55 am
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
The rhythmic ticking of the clock never escaped his mind. It haunted every waking hour of every single day. It was his burden, his curse. The boy had thought himself able to be a savior, and yet here he stood, an ANBU and yet to save anything.
He had become something inhuman. He had created his own dimension, a space beyond reality itself. And yet, he was subject to the real world's whims all the same. He was still the same failure.
Time still ticked on, paying no mind to the boy. Chronos was lord over all. And it was him that no one could truly escape.
Even here, in his own realm, time remained infallible. He could halt it, make it move backwards, make it dance to and fro, and yet when he returned, everything remained the same. That would change.
Altar rose from his throne, the black stone offering little comfort to the boy. The clock before him shifted, now traveling behind him. Nekoda rose with him, content to be by his side. She knew what his next words were going to be. It had truly only been a matter of time.
Time.
Kalamity also rose from his position, seated by the throne. The shackles around his wrists, ankles and neck all fell from his being, the beast unchained. The demon was about to be free from it's prison, free on the village. No, the world at large. It would be a slow start, but the gory feast for him would be lovely, and oh so worth the wait.
Wait.
No words were spoken as the three of them materialized in the real world, in Altar's room. The two found themselves amazed at having corporeal bodies. Of course, they still existed in Altar's head as well. All was silent in the room as the two yuumei patted themselves down, ensuring they were real. The low roar of a snoring dragon. The ticking of a clock on the wall.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
It was time.
Time.
