Chapter Three: Judgement (p, wip)
Mon Apr 24, 2017 3:52 pm
Ro sat atop the highest branch in the forest, watchful eyes gazing upon a figure so far below they appeared to be but a spec of dust in the wind. They moved gracefully, elegantly, slicing down all the imaginary opponents that stood in their path. Ocasionally, a lone voice cut through the solitude. It was seraphic in tone, and all the other birds in the forest would fall quiet at its ringing. What a strange human, indeed. Then again, nearly all of the crow's past summoners had passionate madness in some degree or form. But Eren had a special kind of madness, the kind of madness that would allow her to bask guiltlessly in the image of a woman who's throat she had slit. The kind of madness that was beautiful and terrible all at once, leaving her laughing maniacally into the night and sobbing when morning light came. The kind of madness that had her turn away from the garish reflection of her face, scorning away the distortion that she knew deep inside lay within her soul, not beneath her mask.
Ro let herself get caught in a practice genjutsu cast by the monarch of solitude and watched curiously as purple storm clouds rotated violently all around her. Occasionally, lightning would crackle between them, providing sharp sudden flashes of illumination not unlike Eren's intellect- deadly and precise. She couldn't help but liken her to a sword on the wall of one of her previous summoners. Sharp and beautiful all at the same time, but a weapon nonetheless. (Once I had used a weapon like that to cut deep incisions into my wrists and ankles, Eren said to her. It is the only time my mother had ever smiled at me)
There haven't been many past summoners of the Crows of the Forest of Dreams, but one stood out in her mind: Itachi Uchiha. A man who had loved so deeply he killed and killed again- and a picture of Eren's masked face flashed before her eyes. They didn't seem too similar up front, but deep down, they were both madmen driven by love- or in Eren's case, the lack of it. Yes, she had been told of the crimes of neglect left by her mother. Some of it because of her face, some because of a strange gender identity, but it mattered not; the damage was done, and a young adult thrown on a dark path from which she might not ever recover. She wondered with dulled interest what would happen if the new summoner suceeded with her mission of matricide. Would she rejoice or break down? (She bet her feathers on the latter)
Then Eren got bored and left because he was in the topic for like two months OOC and wanted to do something more interesting.
