Aftermath

Takeo took a step back. This had not gone as expected. The man gazed toward the centre of the pit in the ground. There lay the stunned tailed beast with its piercing gaze angled toward him. Takeo was hesitant. It couldn't be this easy..right? Tailed beasts were supposed to hold immense power. A single lighting jutsu shouldn't be enough to defeat it. Takeo eyed the beast for a moment. A few seconds passed. Nothing happened. Takeo shook his head, all the bravado and now he was hesitating? That simply wouldn't fly. If he stalled any longer then the lightning would fade.

Time to put the beast down. He began to walk down the slope and into the pit. Takeo had walked about ten meters before he saw something in the corner of his vision. Sharply he turned to the right. He was expecting some sort of attack. However nothing was there. Again his eyes were playing with him. Takeo sighed. He turned back and made to continue his walk toward the beast. A moment passed before Takeo noticed something. Shukaku was grinning. 'That's not good.' Takeo thought to himself. Then he saw it through his left eye. The ground was moving. Not earth though, sand. Takeo looked upward as a wall of sand rose high into the air. It circled around the edges of the pit raising upward until the sky was blocked from view. The light was blocked out and darkness overcame the pit. Takeo had underestimated the tailed beast. Silence followed for a moment. "Fuck you." Takeo called out to the beast. As if that was the command, the sand crashed downward into the pit.


Takeo's left eye opened and his chakra exploded outward. The sand was forced away from his body, the pushing force of One Way Road overpowering the cascade of sand. His body ached. Well..that was a bit of an understatement. His eye scanned the area. Takeo was about fifty meters below ground. Shukaku was leaving. It seemed the arrogant beast had assumed it's victory. There was no easy way out. Brute force all the way to the top would have to do it. Though given his current state, that wouldn't be easy. The beast was getting away. Brute force it was.

Have you ever tried climbing up a sand dune? Not an easy task is it? The sand always gave way under your feet and it'd just be a nightmare. Now imagine doing that with your body cut to ribbons. Oh, not forgetting the tons of sand that was burying you under the ground also. A fifty meter trek upward. Considering all of these factors it was quite surprising that Takeo managed to make it out that quickly. The sand covered ground exploded outward as One Way Road met it. The man emerged out into the open. He gasped taking in lungfuls of fresh air. Takeo wasn't sure how much time had elapsed. The beast was far away though, that was annoying. Heading north. Takeo might be able to catch it. Though given his injuries, he wasn't quite sure if he would be able to quickly.

The beast's arrogance had failed it twice already. The third time would be the last.
