The day was hot, like always, in this sand land that was awful for Sakana’s skin. The time was not long after the kumo citizens had entered the village, and Sakana was trying to find things to do. He had gone on a whole trip through the village, and it contained him trying to be nice to the locals but ultimately failing because older people can’t get with the times and such.
As he was walking around the village he came to the realization that there was a possibility they could have been tracked and followed by someone with a harmful intent on their way into the village. After all they were a large nation and a group moving of that mass would surely raise some eyebrows. If someone were to have tracked them and keep their distance they would probably have neared the gates at this time. Maybe the heat was messing with his head or maybe he just needed something to do but he decided he would walk down to the gates to observe to make sure no shady characters came though.
While he made his way down there he wondered if he would see anyone he recognized, after all half of the village did come, so maybe he would find one of his friends or a shinobi he knew.

Senshi sighed, he was bored. In Kumo he had a steady mission to complete in running the defences, not to mention the ridiculous amount of missions he constantly took to keep himself occupied. Now. Now he had nothing. He was stuck in a foreign land with stupid foreign peace loving Hoshi crack heads. No war. No fighting. Just constant idyllic peace. And heat. All of the heat. He felt the sweat begin to roll down his back, it made him not want to wear his Maku Cultist armor but he was intent on projecting a serious image to the Hoshi Nin. After Arashi's comments, Senshi wanted these idiots to know they had nothing on the exceptionalism that was a Kumo shinobi. They didn't compare to their weakest shinobi.
Finally Senshi issued yet another annoyed sigh before pushing himself up from the park bench he had been sitting on. Maybe, just maybe they would let him take a mission. He didn't expect them to trust him with a high level mission, but at this point he was so bored he'd happily do some kind of stupid E rank just to feel like he was doing something and improving in some way. It took him awhile but he finally found the mission office and as he walked in and strode to the desk he gave the man sitting at the desk a glad before awkwardly looking away. "Look, I get I am a foreign shinobi, but we are allies. Do you have any outstanding missions that need completing?" The man glared awkwardly for several seconds befinally he grabbed a scroll and tossed it, almost disgustedly at him.
Catching it, Senshi prevented himself from scowling back, he turned on his heel and strode out of the office. As he walked he unrolled the scroll, this time not holding back the scowl on his face. At least it would allow him to better learn the villages lay out, but still. It was an E rank mission just as he had feared it would be. As he finally arrived near the gates he was surprised when his chakra sensory pinged off of Sakana. Sakana who was alone with no other familiar signature near him. Senshi felt a brief flow of fear course through him as he corrected his path and headed towards the young man. It took but a moment before he strolled up, towards Sakana. His voice echoing out loudly to catch his attention.
"Sakana, you are not supposed to be wandering around alone. It is unsafe." Senshi frowned as he realized he didn't have telepathy seals on all of his Kumo shinobi. As this thought occurred to him he realized that Sakana was effectively a chuunin in his eyes, and yet had not yet received any leadership training. With a fierce nod his hand reached out offering the scroll to the young man. "Sakana three things. One you are effectively a Chuunin, but you need better leadership training. This is an easy mission, I want you to run it with me. Tell me what you want to do and unless it's grossly wrong I want you to take the lead. Gain this experience so that you'll make a good Chuunin for Kumo."
Senshi paused to let that sink in and then continued, his voice dropping so that o my Sakana could hear him. "Next, with your consent, I want to apply a mark seal which will allow me to track you and find you at any time. I would also like to apply a telepathy seal so that you can reach me or any other Kumo shinobi in the event you need assistance. I also want you to use it to check in regularly so we know you're safe. Is it acceptable to apply the seals?" Senshi would wait for permission before quickly applying a mark seal to The top of Sakana's ear. Then using the same handseals he had with the Max, Komori, Komon, Reizo, and him he would tap Sakana behind the left ear leaving the seal there.
"Just apply chakra to it and you can reach Max, Komori, Komon, Reizo, or myself anywhere you are. Now read the scroll, and lead the way. You'll be a chuunin soon."

The Meijin was almost at the gates when he heard a familiar voice behind him. A large amount of people came to hoshi from kumo and out of all of them who did he run into? It was none other than the Jounin who he had a very mixed relationship with recently, Senshi. He was the one who gave him the rank of honorary chuunin, but was also the one who threatened to demote him back to academy student if he was ever disrespectful.
He slowly turned towards Senshi to greet him. Of course he was treated like a child, being told he was not supposed to be out and about by himself. While he was told that he had a perfectly reasonable answer for that, he wanted to say because he was bored but that was not the appropriate answer. “I know I’m not supposed to be out alone but technically I’m not. Queen Akihana said there would be queensguards always watching us, it would be logical to say one is watching our conversation right now from somewhere.” The Meijin would say this in a calm tone, hopefully not annoying Senshi with this comment. He realized it was better to not have to deal with annoying him.
Sakana would extend his hand cautiously to grab the scroll, he had to be careful because he would not put Senshi past making it a trap as a training method. He would slowly open the scroll as he listened to the jounin tell him that he was a chuunin but he needed leadership training. This was one of the first ideas that Sakana had agreed with.
The mission was pretty much exactly what he came down to do anyway, it was a bit more hand on than he would have liked but he would be getting paid for it so It was all ok. He would laugh as he said to Senshi, “Funny, I came down here to look for suspicious activity anyway.” The gennin would start to plan out in his head what he wanted to do, well there was only a few thing he could do so the best one would be to watch the gates to make sure no one was there to do harm.
He would start to hand the scroll back to the tall guy when he would start to tell him he wanted to put some seals on him, the telepathy seal which sounded pretty cool and the marking seal which sounded way less cool but was probably necessary so he wasn’t going to argue. “Sounds good.” He would say as the man started to touch his ears. Sakana was staring to see why he needed consent since this looked pretty weird from the outside. Senshi told him he could reach a few people with the tp seal, Komon and Komori being two of the five people. As Senshi said he would be a chuunin soon he replied in a quiet voice, “Sooner rather than later I hope.”
He would pause for a moment incase Senshi wanted to speak, it also gave him time to collect his thoughts for this mission. This time he would reply in a confident leader type of tone, kind of like he had being leading missions forever. “Ok, so what I think we should do is I’ll stand on the right side of the gate and you stand near the left. This way we’ll be able to see more people walking through. Also with my new fancy telepathy seal we should be able to notify each other with what we see. And then even though the scroll doesn’t say to, we should pay extra attention to make sure we weren’t followed by anyone with hostile intents when we traveled here.”
Unless Senshi stopped him with a question he would make his way over to the right side of the gate and wait to see who would approach the gates.

Senshi nodded as Sakana spoke, he wasn't going to eve apologize for how hard he was on the soon to be Chuunin. All shinobi needed someone to do that for them, how else were they going to get better. Become stronger. Protect the villages that they had sword their lives to? It was not by coasting through life that one because a strong shinobi. It was by how difficult the people who trained you were, and the many impossible missions that you pushed yourself through. Sakana would hopefully one day look back on the way Senshi had treated him and realize that, that had lead to him being capable of completing missions easier. That it had taught him how to deal with the most ossification of the royalty.
And if not. Well Senshi wouldn't care anyways. This type of training method was always a "what ic"
Type thing and if it didn't happen then that was fine. At least you were trained what to do if something like it did happen. That was always better in the long run, especially for dooms day preppers like Senshi. Once he had been given permission to apply the seals he had done so quickly, no matter how awkward it might seem. He hadn't been sure how to conceal his movements so he probably looked kind of like some weird pedophile touching Sakana's hair and ear out of no where. Especially after they had their intense whispering conversation. It wasn't something that Senshi would have noticed but the heavy flares around them seemed to increase a bit, as well as the volume of the whispering.
Nodding his head to Sakan's plan, Senshi moved off to the opposite side. A lazier shinobi would have leaned against the gate in boredom but instead Senshi planted himself a solid inch away from the gates from his arms coming up and cross over his chest as he began to glare at every approaching person. The nervous tension at the gate immediately ratchet up and several
People skittered away, congesting Sakana's part of the gate worse than need be. Clearly these Hoshi shinobi weren't guarding their gates properly if people reacted like this to just a little bit of glaring.

As he reached the gate Sakana did lean against it. Did that make him lazy? Probably but that was besides the point since he still had the same field of view as Senshi. The other issue was the giant has scared a lot of the civilians and they flocked like sheep towards Sakana’s side of the gate. As the first few people walked by it all seemed pretty normal, a woman with her child, a man wheeling a fruit cart and just other ordinary things. The first thing that caught his eye was a small, awkward looking man. It wasn’t his appearance that made it suspicious it was the fact that he keep reaching into his pocket as to make sure something was there, he did this over and over again. That combined with that fact that he seemed to be sweating heavily for no reason made his someone worth checking out. He would shoot a message to Senshi first, “Mousey looking guy.” This way he would be able to observe and see if Sakana had missed anything.
As he approached the man he started making small talk, asking him what brought him here and such. The man’s travel papers and story seemed legit but there was still one more thing to do. “Sir can you please take out whatever that is in your pocket.” The guy seemed nervous, and reached into the opposite pocket and took out a coin. The Meijin proceeded to tell him that he meant the other pocket and that’s when the fun started. The man was going to try and run away but since Sakana was way faster all it took was for him to extend his foot out and the man came stumbling down. Once he hit the ground Sakana reached into the man’s pocket and inside was a box, this box had a timer. The gennin quickly put the pieces together, a box with a timer, it was a bomb. The Meijin didn’t really have any experiences with bombs.
“Bomb.” He first sent that message to Senshi not wanting everyone to freak out, Senshi was a fuin user so he could probably disarm it since most bombs are made with seals. Then he shouted aloud, “Everyone stand back.”

Senshi blinked slowly as Sakana moved forwards. He had to hold in a laugh at the word bomb. Moving forwards he nodded to Sakana letting him handle the crowd as he knelt down next to the box Sakana had pulled forth from the man's pocket. He discarded the timer as his fingers carefully roamed over the box finally pausing and reaching into his weapons pouch to pull out a Kunai. As he did so he laid himself out on the ground propping himself up on his elbows. Working slowly, his hands remaining completely steady he stabilized the box with one hand while slowly scratching at the side of the box with the Kunai in his other hand. It took only a few short moments before he finally managed to clear a hole into the side of the box to see what he was underneath the timer.
Pulling his hand with the Kunai back and stretching it out he placed the Kunai down before letting his lightning nature chakra spark along his fingers. It created a bright light and he moved his hand closer to the box by a few inches before cocking his head to try and get a better view of what was going on inside the box. His eyes immediately picked out the small seals inscribed on the side and the wad of paper, that he could easily assume were explosive tags. He moved his hand and head into and even more awkward position, his head pressed into the ground so he was looking up at the box. With a steady exhale of his breath he stopped channeling chakra into his hand and pushed himself up.
Grabbing the box he lazily strode out away from the gates, his gait even so that the box never jostled. Once he was a good fifty meters from the gate he set the box down before jogging back towards the gate, picking his Kunai up from where he had laid it he sent wind chakra into the blade and looked st Sakana. "Fire in the hole." With those words he released the Kunai throwing it with the unerrring accuracy of a weapons specialist. The blade cracklig with lighting as he sped down the path he had sent it on. A moment later it connected with the box and the seals that had been inscribed into it reacted to the chakra in the blade causing the explosive notes to go off.
A sudden whumph and a blazing ball of fire rose out sending a shockwave out in a 360 degree sphere. Senshi's hair blew backwards and sand scrapped st his face but he simply smiled slightly. He always loved a good explosion. Shrugging he turned back to Sakana and spoke again his tone more light hearted the. Before. "Problem solved, you can have the gate operations return to normal" he strode back towards his place next to the gate the small smile never leaving his face.

Sakana would breathe a sigh of relief as Senshi quickly made his way over there. The Meijin’s theory was proven when he went right to work on disarming the bomb It was a scary matter in the genin’s eyes, but obviously not to the jounin.
As Senshi would go to work disarming the bomb Sakana would pull the criminal off the floor and tie his hands up behind him with wire from his backpack. There was no easy way to do this, all he could do was sit and wait to see if Senshi could disarm the bomb or not. The crowd has surprisingly stayed back as instructed, the Hoshi nin probably weren’t used to bomb threats and such things, but just to be safe the genin would once again tell everyone to remain clam as the situation was handled.
Eventually the jounin got off the floor, walked over to the gates and seemingly threw the bomb into the distance. Everyone around would watch the explosion, some women started to scream in fear. Koba would then tell everyone the problem was solved and he would go back to his place where Sakana had instructed him to be earlier. But there was still the problem of the prisoner. What should be done with him? Should he be sent back away? Or should he be taken to the prison. The genin would tp Senshi and say, “I think I should take this guy to the prison if that’s ok with you. You could either come with me and try to get info out of him or you could stay here and continue to monitor the gates with the Hoshi nin. Up to you.” Provided the jounin agreed to the plan, Sakana would head off towards the Hoshi prison in order to deliver the prisoner to the authorities.

Senshi continued to watch those coming in and out of the village with a suspicious eye as Sakana handled the prisoner. He still had a nice after glow of pride and euphoria from the explosion. But that was all coming to an end as Sakana voiced his next decision. Giving a nod the Jounin turned away from the gate, from what the mission scroll had said they had completed the required amount of time here at the gate anyways. Senshi felt another slight surge of euphoria at finishing another mission, even if it was for another village. He still loved the feeling of completing a task successfully, and possibly this would make it better for them here. Assisting their allies might make them bond closer and thus make their alliance stronger. Plus this was definitely something that Lady Akihana would support so Senshi knew that they were doing the right thing. He gave a nod to Sakana following him as he did so.
"Good Call, you've clearly got a decent grasp of leadership. Once we drop this guy off, we'll collect another mission so that you can get more practice. You'll be leading the other Genin soon, so I want you to be prepared especially since we are here in a foreign land."
