Practicing Fire Jutsu

By the time Lan had gotten to the training grounds, he was already shivering. Spring mornings could be quite cold, he found, and he absolutely detested the cold. He grit his teeth as he found his own little corner to practice his fire jutsu in. It was certainly the perfect day to practice this jutsu, at least. Definitely cold enough that using it was justified. When he found a spot, he stopped, making the necessary handsign: tiger. Nothing seemed to happen at first, not even a flicker of the warmth that he should be feeling, and he shivered a little bit as he tried again. Tiger. Once more his cold hands made the seal, and this time, he felt a tiny bit of warmth run through his body. A sigh of relief escaped his lips as it warmed him, but it only lasted a few seconds before once more he felt the cold. A curse escaped his lips, his fingers fumbling to pull his sleeves a bit further down over his arms. Both to cover his scars and to keep him warm, the sleeves and gloves were adjusted before he would try again. After those came the white scarf around his neck, which had slipped a bit loose on the way over.
Lan closed his eyes and focused before he tried this time. Tiger. His hands made the sign, and this time he had a marginal amount of success, as his whole body felt a bit warmer this time, and the cold wasn't quite as biting. It also lasted longer, perhaps for 10 seconds, before the feeling gradually faded and he was left cold once more. However, he felt slightly better about it this time, as it had been at least a partial success. Besides, he had been warmer for longer, and that he considered to be an improvement. A silent cheer was given, and a fist pumped in the air before he had to fix his sleeves again. The cheer was quickly replaced by a scowl after that. He hated the cold with a passion, that was for sure. At least by choosing today to practice his fire jutsu, he would be warmed up by the flames somewhat.
With a scowl still on his face, he formed the sign with his hands again. Tiger. Once again, his skin suddenly felt warmer. It lasted longer this time, and though it wasn't any warmer, he certainly felt a lot better by the time the jutsu had worn off. Though that didn't stop him from shivering again once the cold had full hit him. It was pretty cold today… should he just go inside and practice there? Or should he stay outside and keep practicing his fire jutsu, hoping it would eventually warm him up a bit? A short mental debate ensued as he weighed his options, and finally, he choose with a small nod of his head. I'm going to stay here and keep practicing. Another time making the handsign, and he felt the effects of the E rank jutsu once more. Ah, a useful jutsu, that was for sure.
