Mission

Rem signed up for an opportunity to operate in an apprehension type mission. The details was to bring in the individual that was terrorizing the dead and their resting place. There has been evidence of vandalism amongst the gravestones. So it was time for justice to be served, by bringing them in alive to pay for their crimes.

The fuschia haired female left her home, dressed in a more correct attire for a mission than plain day to day clothes. She meant business. Her own chuunin flak jacket was zipped up to her collarbone, displaying a representation of her current ranking.

She had begun her morning with a nice rice omelet to break her sleep fasting, before she had gotten ready for today’s mission she was assigned for. Now Rem was on her way to complete what was expected from her.

The morning was nice. Rem felt the tickle of a cool breeze, sneaking up on her. She took the moment to raise her face towards the warming sun, as the day was not really cloudy. Her first step was to obviously wait until the approach of sunset, and then head to the victim cemetery. At sun down is when the arrival of the criminal should take place. So obviously, Rem had plenty of time to kill before she needed to get ready.

She hesitated on what to do next. There was so much free time. Maybe she could use this opportunity to research some more about puppetry? Rem still had yet to obtain one.

It was time, Rem had just finished passing the time doing some well needed puppetry research, since it is one of her main interests. Now she would be making her way through the path that lead to the target cemetary. Most would probably find it eerie to be going to a cemetery during sun down, but Rem wasn’t the type of girl to be squeamish over the subject of the dead. In a way. . . Rem actually welcomed it.

She held a deep interest in the concept of the dead and what might follow afterwards. That's what first brought her interest in the possibility of using corpses for her future puppet work.

Her travels to the cemetery was a clean one, the pathway to it was usually kept up with along with the cemetery itself. The only way it wouldn’t be was because of the results of the criminals vandalism of ruining any special offerings left behind for the passing of loved ones, and other things.

She silently entered within the cemetery, making sure to use the looming head stones as visual coverage from the criminal that was supposed to be here. She was carefully crouched down in a stealthy stance. Peeking over the corner of one of the head stones. There was already evidence of more destruction of offerings done recently. Rem wasn’t surprised. Her magenta eyes scanned the area. In search for the target. And that’s when she caught sight of him nearby. She deeply exhaled, before raising from her position.

“You are being charged with the crime of vandalizing the cemetery of Hoshigakura. I recommend that you come willingly, or I must take you by force”

Rem’s soft voice spoke sternly as she faced the target male. He jerked around in shock to see the source of her voice. By the twisted look that followed next, Rem knew right away that he wasn’t going to come willingly. “So be it. . .”

She desired to face her target head on. Whether she must chase him down afterwards, or face him in a fight head on. It was all up to him how it would play out.

His eyes glared at the chuunin flak jacket she wore. Looks like he was smart enough to recognize the ranking of ninja.

“Try me.” His lips twisted into a sneer as the threat hissed from his tongue.

Rem moved into a defensive stance as the man’s hand reached for something at his waist. Withdrawing what looks to be a wicked dagger from a strapped sheath. He twisted the dagger that he now held at his side, some of the hovering moon light glistening over it’s stained blade.

Rem stood her ground, her eyes watching his moves closely. Waiting in silence to see if he would really dare to approach her with the intent to attack her.

Looks like he indeed was, she concluded as the man began to charge in her direction. As he makes his dash, the target makes the decision to bring the blade across in the attempt to slash her across her stomach. Not really a well thought out move.

He was about to learn from his mistake. Rem slid to the direction of his hand that wields the dagger. Her arm shooting forward as she grabbed a hold of his wrist. His attacking blade coming close to slashing her arm, but Rem’s strength overpowered his movement.

The next step. . .

Rem forcefully twisted his wrist, causing him to loosen his grip on his blade, before dropping it onto the dirt below them. Then she suddenly yanks him forward, towards her, as she brings up her opposing knee. Delivering a hard blow right into his gut. The man utters out a grunt in pain, before swinging his free hand into the direction of her head.

Rem reacted fluently, ducking her head low as his punch misses, skimming over a few strands of her hair. She grits her teeth together, looks like he wasn’t going to give up that easily. With graceful movement, the kunoichi twists around in her spot.Performing a 180 turn as his arm she still holds is brought over her shoulder from the back. Then with a powerful tug, throws him from over her shoulder, sending him crashing into the solid ground.

By the heavy sound of his breath leaving his mouth, Rem assumed that the impact managed to knock out his air. Leaving him gasping desperately, trying to regain it. She finishes off by pressing her foot against the softness of his neck. “Now do you submit?

The man collapsed on the ground no longer showed any interest in fighting back. She didn't relieve any of the pressure of the foot that she rested against his tender neck. Glancing down at the exhausted, defeated man with a blank expression. He was no longer a threat, that was good.

The sounds of running footsteps could be heard, they was distinctive but the ears of the kunoichi was able to recall them. It was the movement of a trained shinobi, and they was heading this way. Rem wasn't alarmed by these news, she knew exactly what was going on. She had been noted that an arrival of officers would be there sometime after her, to retrieve and restrain the culprit. All she had to do was keep him down until they arrived. Which was no issue to begin with.

The officers arrived within minutes, making their way over to both Rem and the downed culprit. They took over with the rest. Restraining the arms of the man and pulling him up to his feet, from the dirt of the ground. What she had to do next was assist in the delivery of the grave culprit to the Kage. Simple enough.

Rem watched and the officers pushed the man ahead, into the direction of the path. It was time for them to leave behind the cemetery, and back towards the village. Someone was to later come by and fix some of the destruction. Perhaps after this is all said and done, maybe she'll come back as well to help the dead be at ease. Or whatever it was.

The walk back was slow and quiet. The officers had the restrained culprit walking between them, with a hand on each side of his tied arms. Rem, the pink haired kunoichi, walked from behind the three. Keeping an eye out for anything in the back. Her eyes wandered over to the officers momentarily. Curious as to how long they have been in service to Hoshigakure. Then her thoughts wandered over to the curiosity of what was to happen to the captive. Would be be punished? And if so. . . what sort of punishment was in stored for such crimes.

Surprisingly, Rem didn't really feel all that bad. For such situations, ninja was trained to be void of empathy. Showing such guilt or pity would easily get someone killed. You had to learn to carry out your orders without hesitation. That's what made a true shinobi.

The path ahead of them was dimly lit by the white wash of the overhanging moon. The culprit was quiet, and he didn't seem to have any interest in not being compliant. He knew when it was time to acknowledge defeat. If he was to continue fighting, the consequences could become much more dire than the current ones awaiting him. Rem traveled with silence. She held no desire to bother any of the officers on their place of duty, nor did she want to seem like an amateur. It wouldn't be long before they reached their destination. First needing to parade through the village like soundless ghosts.

The trained officers murmered amongst themselves. No doubt that the Hogokage has already been notified of the target's capture. What surprised Rem the most, was that they only saw one.

The mission had notified that there was possible two or three targets. Was there a mistake in the communication of the incidents? Or did the others not show?

The questions wondered through her head, as they continued on their journey through the village.

Will the mission be considered complete, if only one culprit was captured?

This was just something that she would have to wait on to get her answers. If she had to, Rem would comply to search for the rest of the party. To make sure her mission was a complete success.

She was not going to half ass on her duties as a shinobi.

Her bright eyes seemed to glow dimly within the night's surroundings. The roseate orbs that surrounded her pupils lifted up. Gazing blankly into the back of the walking capture.

Then there was a sudden grunt released from the lips of one of the officers. The officer that stood to the right, briefly wavered as if unsteadied, before collapsing to one know.

Rem's eyes grew wide as an event of surprise seemed to unravel right before her. The left officer twisted his attention to the far corner, obviously distracted by an unknown object.

This gave the captured target the opportunity that he must have been waiting for.

But Rem wasn't going to allow him to go so easily. The captured target went to leap forward. Since the remaining officer on stand no longer had his full attention like wise.

Rem shifted into action.

Her first line of action was to restrain the main target, the one that was already in attempt to escape.

Rem leaped forward without hesitation. One hand reaching for a chosen kunai that laid in dormant within her ninja weapon pouch, while her free hand barely managing to grasp the restrained arms of the escaping culprit.

She didn't stop there.

The once quiet night, was now awakening by the sounds of commotion.

The guard that was still standing, was taking care of the disturbance.

Rem tightened her grip around the captive's arm, before kicking her foot agaisnt the back of his knee. Knocking him down to his knees, as her kunai was pressed against the soft curve of his neck.

"Move a single muscle, and I promise it won't end well."

The first captive was secured, and after glancing at the remaining guard. It was seen that the disturbance was also taken care of. There was another target all along, and their attempt was a failure.

Both culprits of the cemetary disturbance was placed on their knees with a sharp kunai tickling the skin of their neck.

"So much dedication to escape the consequence of your disrespectful actions to the dead."

How pitiful that some couldn't own up to their mistakes. It wouldn't be long until the Hogokage would take care of them.

"I advise that you learn from your pain."

And with that, her mission was complete for the night. Rem still had a long ways to go for her journey.
