As Suika had made her way towards the hospital that the older gentleman at the gates’ had told her to go to, in order to meet the Kazekage – The Monster himself that she had been warned about – Kenshin Uzumaki; Suika made sure to survey the land as she moved, although the light in the sky was just now barely a half moon just above the skyline. The village in the process of being rebuilt, however still had much destruction… She had heard about an attack, although she didn’t pay much attention to it as she never had planned to come into any village like Suna…
As she reached closer to the hospital she came across a small group of men, somewhat sketchy looking near a small fire and a building mostly destroyed, with two walls, and a small piece of roof – these men gave a whistle towards Suika. This caused her to hasten her pace, remembering the warning from the gate keeper… Her feet felt heavy, her time of travelling having finally caught up to her. She knew soon enough she would become sheepish, and want rest soon—however she had a mission to meet this Kage first before she gave up for the night. It was around 930 by now as she glanced towards the sky.
Suika slowed down once she was positive that she was no longer being followed, as she begun to see the hospital – she assumed as much as it had a label on the front of it. She narrowed her eyes as her pace became steady; she was about to meet a man people spoke about being dangerous, a monster, a very powerful one at that. She wanted to ensure herself as much mystery as possible, she stopped, just 20 feet away from the doors to the hospital. Calming her breath as she focused on her chakra; she began to suppress it, she didn’t want her power levels to be obvious, leaving herself as an open book was a dangerous thing, and she couldn’t be leaving herself out in the open.
Focusing more on suppressing herself, she took a large breath in, then exhaled briefly before returning to her normal breathing. She walked towards the hospital once again, as she reached the doors, she paused, beginning to feel slightly sick, something inside of the hospital… Wasn’t right. She turned to look around before shaking off the initial feeling, walking into the hospital she looked around only to see a small desk perched at the front; she could hear something moving behind the desk; a worker she figured. “Hello?” Suika spoke softly, “I… I’m here to meet the Kazekage, Kenshin Uzumaki.” She beamed, tilting her head to the right, her soft blonde hair falling along with the movement. She waited for a moment, unsure if the person behind the desk heard her, Suika moved closer.
“Excuse me.” She paused, “I’m here to meet the Kazekage… Unless he is no longer around.” She paused again… “I can always come back in the morning if he isn’t here.” She exhaled, her bright blue eyes narrowing, causing small winkle like lines around the bottom of her eyes, her normally flat and silk like smooth skin didn’t often show lines; but the frustration of being ignored, well… Not ignored but unheard – she was sure that she was loud enough to be heard… She wrapped her arms together, causing her bust to press together. She needed to stay calm, as when her emotions got out of hand; flash backs of Shoji beating her would flash through her head.
She could still feel the pain, the deafening pain… Her heart begun to speed up as she thought about it. She shook her head, ignoring the thoughts running through her head. The hospital was dimly lit, almost something from someone’s worst nightmare… She half expected a half dead person to pop up behind the desk…
But that’s when the feeling she had felt before entering the building came upon her once again… It was the foulest feeling… Unnatural… She felt sick, absolutely sick to her stomach as she stood and waited to be directed… Could this feeling be the chakra of the Kazekage? Her left hand slowly reached to the back of her neck as she rubbed it, a small trick she was once taught that when she felt ill, could relieve her of some of the pain. However the pain and sickness were not going away; if anything if felt as if it kept getting stronger… Whoever this was… This was a strong individual, someone with unnatural abilities and powers… Someone Suika felt as if she would soon becoming face to face too…
She would focus on her breathing, for what felt like hours as the sickening chakra followed about her, she needed to move past the feeling it was giving off, fight off the utter despair she felt, to be able to move freely and without the hindrance of the power in the building. She knew if this did in fact belong to the man, Kenshin Uzumaki, that as she reached closer to him, the harsher this feeling would become, and she needed to be able to control herself. She needed to be able to steel her body and mind, for a moment she could feel her strength to keep her own chakra suppressed; she had to focus on the here and now, focus on containing herself, and not the overwhelming power that was in the building.
However overpowering it might be, she knew her self-concentration should be enough to keep herself focused on containing and keeping herself contained, and handling her own when it came time to come face to face with the Kazekage himself… In the few moments that Suika had begun to “speak” in her own mind to herself, calming her being down, she heard mumbles, although not fully paying attention to the person behind the desk, Suika’s eyes would shoot up towards the figure.
Although in the moment all Suika could see as a blurred figure, as her eyes and ears both seemed muffed by the overwhelming chakra she managed to reply, “I’m sorry… I didn’t quite catch that… Could you repeat?”

Mia would eye the admittedly gorgeous young woman that approached her with the slightest of narrowed eyes, her natural beauty truly something to behold, and honestly something that Mia herself was quite jealous of… but that was about it, she couldn’t hold any true ill will against the girl for looks alone… she was vain and catty, but not to that extent. When the younger woman spoke her voice was soft and almost mousy… and she was asking to meet with Kenshin… could this woman be a shinobi? Surely not… she looked too pure… but that was the point she supposed. She had met with Lilith and knew the woman to be a no nonsense type of shinobi, and supposedly one that was quite powerful… but one would never guess it based on her looks alone. It seemed that she zoned out for a few moments though, and as the woman moved closer to rephrase her request she also spoke a little louder… not that she was being loud really, if anything she was now speaking in a normal tone compared to the almost mousy whispers from earlier.
“I’m sorry dear, it’s been a long day and I got lost in thought. Kenshin is still here, he spends most of his days here while he waits for The Kazekage’s Tower to be rebuilt. If you wish to meet with him then simply make your way to the morgue, he’s using it as his own little office since people tend to avoid it… as I’m sure you can understand. Just follow the black line on the floor and you’ll reach it with no trouble.” The brunette would explain with a small, polite smile on her face. But it was then that Mia began to notice things changing… the woman's breathing picked up a bit and became heavier, she raised her hand to the back of her neck and started to rub… it almost seemed like she was having a panic attack.
“Are you alright?” She would ask with a concerned frown on her face, causing the pretty little things eyes to shoot to her… before she visibly composed herself and asked if she could repeat what she had just said.
“...Are you alright? You seemed like you were having a bit of a panic attack there?” The receptionist would ask with the same concerned frown on her face. She couldn’t really understand what had triggered that response from the woman, but it certainly wasn’t normal and that worried Mia a bit. If the woman chose to respond that she was alright Mia would narrow her eyes in thought… before simply sighing and shaking her head lightly. She knew full well that she couldn’t force her help on someone, and she trusted the woman knew herself well enough to understand whether she could handle that or not.
“Okay, well as I said before Kenshin can be found in the morgue, just follow the black line on the floor and you’ll be there in no time.” The woman would then say, the same polite smile as before on her pretty face.

The Reaper was, surprisingly, completely unaware of what was taking place at the reception desk of his hospital, due in large part to the fact that his Byakugan was deactivated, but also because he was focussed almost entirely on the woman that sat opposite to him in the chair he had reserved for guests. In her hand was a chilled glass filled with a mixture of ice and Kusu, with Kusu being the aged form of his favoured liquor Awamori. This particular Kusu was truly one of a kind, and as far as he knew there were few in the world that possessed a treasure like this… as it had been aged for roughly 400 years, far before the eruption of the great volcano… and he had found it all hidden away in pots beneath the former Kazekage’s Tower. It was specifically located in a hidden limestone cavern beneath the location that was protected by some rather powerful ancient Fuinjutsi, and the man could hardly believe his luck when he discovered it. It had been shortly after that he had retreated to his morgue and summoned the woman, explaining his discovery and his plans to share a glass of this liquid gold with her.
He had a glass of his own that was identical to hers, and he would raise his glass in toast with a small smirk on his face with her. He couldn’t truly celebrate such a momentous discovery without his chosen by his side… and he wanted her to taste this with him.
"A toast to this momentous occasion, may fortune ever smile our way." The Reaper would state with the same amused smirk on his face, knowing full well that neither of them truly believed in things such as fate or fortune.
They were both the type to stacks the decks in their favour.

The messenger bird had sailed through her window mere moments before she was on her feet and making her way to his side - she would have already been by his side today but he hadn’t scheduled any of their usual training. After the hospital they had set on a path of progress for her, bring near non stop missions and rigorous training that pushed Mizuki to limits she hadn’t tested before. Some days she resented him and the bitter thoughts would poison her view on the man for a time, only to fade into longing and apprehension from being apart. An exploitable attachment which was, to no avail, breakable even as she tried.
She floated like a swift dancer over the rooftops - a b line for the morgue he was famous for residing in - her footsteps silent as feathers floating through an open window. It was no time before she found herself passing the reception desk that was now manned by ‘Mia’, Kenshin had introduced the two recently and to be frank Mizuki didn’t have the softest spot for the woman. Her black hair flowed with the quickness of her steps as she breezed past the desk without a work or glance in acknowledgment of the woman - a spiteful smirk would play on her lips as she descended into the morgue’s hallway - her hands pushed the doors open wide and her eyes landed on his.
Pausing for a moment to take in the scene; His tall slender frame leaning back casually on the desk that was adorned with an ancient looking bottle that was resting on an old pewter tray, the rest of the morgue in it’s usual state with a cadaver a few meters away covered with a bloodied cloth, odd glowing light being reflected from the jars of specimen that lined the shelves. She dropped her hands from the doors and walked into the room with her old confident gait - shoulders back and head held high - her eyes slightly narrowed in a curious manner as she sat down in the chair and crossed her legs casually.
She sat in wonderment and growing interest as Kenshin explained his reasoning for her being summoned so suddenly - liquid gold indeed. He had pulled two frosty glasses from one of the compartments he had and poured them each a health measure before handing her the glass.
Her head would shake in mock reverie of his words, “And may luck favor us heavily.”, for they both knew that luck had nothing to do with true success. Raising her glass in turn before bringing the wonderfully rich and bold liquid to her lips.

Suika listened the second time around the woman spoke, collecting her words as if each one had its own special meaning… She noticed the small panic attack that Suika had just a mere moments before… A small smile, one of assurance many would take that smile, “I’m fine… Just not use to villages… Or… People in charge I suppose.” She gave a small laugh, almost like a giggle in ways, “The Morgue…” Strange place for a village leader to hold his office she thought, as she listened once more, follow the lines, the lines will quickly lead to where the Kazekage is. She starred at the woman before her for just a moment, pondering about her face, skin and hair, her tired eyes… Suika could feel the envy coming off of the woman, a snow flower like Suika didn’t match the normalized beauty standards of a village out in the dessert that was for sure…
Suika’s pale skin, and fine features were more chiseled, more defined as each snowflake that would fall, or every icicle that formed during the coldest of winters; some could definitely say that Suika was made, instead of birthed, as each feature seemed to be picked out from a book, taking only the finest parts into one person. She imagined that each Yuki appeared like this, appearances so very defined, and perfect in their own ways…. Each of them like a snowflake, perfectly hand picked to let roam in the wind.
Her parents were as equally as beautiful, if memory served Suika correctly, in their own ways… Although, her memory of the people who birthed and raised her for those beginning years were fading, names and faces slowly diminishing in her minds eye. Her eyes returned to the woman, after a few moments lost in thought. A smile, a simple smile this time, one of tenderness and caring, “thank you so much for the information. I must make haste to meet this man.” She waved towards the woman as she begun to walk away, “Oh, I’m Suika…” She paused, debating on revealing her last name… Should she? Or would she be classified as a monster, and ran out before even speaking to the monster and myth himself… She glanced to the side, looking at the plain wall for a moment before deciding not to give that information out quite yet. “Could I know your name for next time?” She glanced back towards the lady, as she made small paces towards the dots, walking backwards to still see the woman who gave her directions, after she would reply, Suika would nod and turn heel.
Following the dots on the floor, she counted, often losing track of her counting from the many distractions around her, she was focusing on her surroundings, mapping out different escapes she could make if one would be needed… She starred down different corridors, and rooms with windows, until she reached a point where there was just a hallway, a long hallway with two large steel doors before her… This was the morgue… Where the monster lay behind those doors… On her way towards him, she had forgotten about the weight and over all disgustingness of his chakra, but now only a few meters from those doors, and what could be impending doom, it all rushed back to her… The chakra of a man… a beast… a monster. She starred for a moment, taking a deep breath in before she would count her steps, “One… Two… Three…” She continued in her head, as the moments that felt like hours passed before she was standing directly in front of those heavy doors… The only things keeping the full presences of his charka from her… Her own chakra was still concealed, she did not want to give away that she was right there just yet. But the sudden wave of his own charka would be the final straw, as if he moved… She wasn’t sure if it was closer to the doors, or what he was doing in there… But he moved in some way, to send out that small enough way to make her break concentration for just that moment, her chakra, although not nearly as potent as the man before her but anyone trained well enough would know now she was there…
Her chakra felt like ice, it had a coolness to it, something that could make another relax… As if you were sitting outside your home snuggled up in a blanket and sweater with hot coca watching the snow fall, and small icicles form before your eyes. However, this feeling of calmness could be replaced with utter fear, like the fear of being engulfed in an avalanche of snow, trapped under hundreds of feet, freezing to death… It all depended on the mood that Suika was in, and right now, it was the ladder, she was petrified on the person behind the door, and her chakra matched that fear ten-fold. She would tremble slightly, as she lifted her small arm, to allow the tips of her knuckles to tap gently against the door.
She had now made her bed, and she would have to lay in it. She knew now, chakra revealed, and painstakingly that she could not conceivably flee this corridor, as the Kage was surely faster than herself, as she knew just from his chakra, he was more formidable. No, running would be a futile endeavor at escape, one that would result in her being inside of that undertaker's home… Being dissected for her organs more than likely. She released her shaky breath, calming herself one more time, the feeling of her chakra would begin to change at this point, composing herself, remembering the things she was taught… Never show fear, even if fear is the only thing you can feel. She needed to show that she was not scared of this man… She needed to show that she could hold her own, even when faced with an impossible task.
It would be at this point of calming herself, she would notice as second chakra signature… Far weaker than the one that made death feel more greeted, but she could not quite make it out… But it was in the room with him… She would just need to stand and wait for allowance to enter the room and see who exactly was in that room… For now, she knew of the monster… But the second being was something she did not expect…. Who could it possibly be? And just how powerful was this second person… Her eyes starred at the closed doors, she needed to stay calm, cool and collected. And just she did, waiting for her moment…

Mia would offer the beautiful woman a light smile
“My name is Mia, it was a pleasure to meet you Suika.” The brunette would say, her light brown eyes watching the woman intently as she walked away, following the black line on the floor.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The Reaper’s silver eyes would seemingly sparkle as he took his first sip of the Kusu, everything that he loved about Awamori was almost amplified tenfold, and the bold yet intricate taste was something that he doubted he would ever be able to properly describe. And what a person to share it with, Mizuki, his second in command and the one person that he could truly say that he cared about at this point… the one that had unknowingly saved him from a fate worse than death… stagnation.
Kenshin’s eyes would narrow and slowly turn towards the door as he took a sip from his glass of Kusu, someone he didn’t recognise had allowed their concentration to falter for a moment and he had felt the chill of a cold and powerful chakra signature, nothing compared to his own, but still one that caught his eye. A small smirk would form on his face as he placed the glass down on his desk and leaned back a little into his chair, the chakra was practically screaming terror, he didn’t even need his Byakugan to know that this mysterious person was likely making their way towards him. And truth be told he didn’t feel like activating the eye at this point, he was more than content to simply wait for them to come to him. The knock on his door came a mere moment later, and it would cause his smirk to widen as he grasped his drink once more.
“Enter!” The Ragdoll would call as he raised the glass to his lips and took another slow sip of the liquid gold within. He wondered who exactly this stranger was and what business they had with him… could it perhaps be another Missing-Nin that was interested in joining Suna? Was it an emissary from another village? Someone that simply sought him out for the power that he offered? So many reasons to visit, and everyone that came to him seemed to have their own different reasons for wanting it, even the ones that visited for the same base reason itself. It was curious really… humans truly were interesting creatures.

So many reasons to visit, and everyone that came to him seemed to have their own different reasons for wanting it, even the ones that visited for the same base reason itself. It was curious really… humans truly were interesting creatures.

It seemed her eyes had also flashed to the door in the same moment as Kenshin’s had - someone lurked on the other side of the door and was… standing there? Mizu wrinkled her nose in disapproval of the hesitation the person was displaying. Her glass was still held in her hands as she began to watch Kenshin’s reaction - this was a rare occasion to witness since every new encounter was usually a one on one, and the last time she was able to watch him like this was with her own initial meeting; and the two of them both know they each were putting on airs of deceit that day.
Her eyes were absorbing every detail he was exhibiting - the small narrowing of his eyes as he concentrated on the door but did not activate his Byakugan, whomever it was was enough to catch his attention but not warrant his guard to go up at all. In fact, his demeanor did the exact opposite - he set his glass down to free his hands but simultaneously opened up his body language by leaning back in his chair and smirking. Mizuki had become a statue in those few moments as she drank in his reaction and mentally broke the behavior down - reminding herself to add these details to his working profile in her book. The knock on the door brought her wandering mind back to the present and she too leaned back and crossed her legs with nonchalant indifference as she continued to sip the golden liquid. Kenshin bade the newcomer entrance and all she could do was sip her drink and watch the scene unfold.
