Getting My Hide Tanned

Mikofujo had always been of the mind that if one takes the life of an animal then all parts of the animal must be used, it was thus in nature after all with all the vultures, jackals, and germs picking up after the predators and thus it must be when man harvested as well in her mind. Thus having a mission to tan some leather and be apart of the process of using every last ounce of the corpse brought the girl a bit of dutiful delight as if she was fulfilling some ancient task compelled on her by her ancestors. Though time had passed and technology had progressed, some urges were still primitive and could outweigh modern senses, this was one of those urges in Miko. Today she decided to tackle her seventh mission early in the morning as she assumed the work would primarily be done indoors anyways thus avoiding the time of the day when the sun was at its most dickish. 

Dressed in a garb that she did not mind getting filled with blood and sinew, it was a plain affair of primarily repellent cloth and was not the most comfortable though the sound it made when brushing against something was the thing the puppeteer found most offensive to her sensibility. Still it was better than ruining clothing she actually enjoyed, so with that being the case, the ninja left her house dressed in unisex brown clothing, with thigh high rubber boots that were colored black and could be hosed down afterwards quite easily. She even wore a black bandanna over her obsidian colored hair so she did not have to worry about showering out too much bio material after this, though of course it would all turn out to be for naught as she would end up receiving the hides without the rest of the corpse. Miko did not know that however and so she was preparing for the messiest, perhaps that was a good metaphor for her life overall before this. A habit that was carried on out of necessity at the time, but now it was no longer required of her, she could relax.

When she finally got to the location the girl laughed to herself about her misunderstanding and went about collecting the hides to set about for the tanning process. Now unfortunately unlike the other things, the writer does not understand how to tan hides even slightly and if this were processing the deer itself she could write that. So alas, now it will be character interaction. While the butcher was not there themselves, apparently they had processed more than twenty deer and that was quite the impressive feat considering Miko had heard he received them only two days before hand. It seemed like they would probably need to dry as the point of most importance and that would certainly take a bit of time, though the ninja did not know how long it would be.

It seemed the hides were already dried, some form of jutsu no doubt had caused this to be the case due to the short time frame allotted, as such it would be time to wash the hides when she got there. There was a rather large tub filled with water and a smaller tub with some mixture of ingredients that would help preserve the skin and cause the hair to fall out. After washing her set amount of skins, she placed a large and heavy lid that fit the bottom of the tub on top to hold the hides in the mixture. It was a chemical bath that would help the process, on the side was a switch which held some chakra to be infused into the tub to help speed the process along so those who wished to tan hides did not have to wait two to three days for this process to be completed naturally. The soaking would truly help the next step of the process which would come in a few hours, in the meantime Miko would have to find something to keep her mind busy.

After this ordeal was complete the woman could wring the hides out herself with her above average strength, when you could lift someone over you head you didnt need a tree to help the process. From there she would simply need to clean the hairs off of the hide and her task would be completed the seventh mission another one under her belt and marking her next step on the ladder of personal progression. It was quite baffling to puzzle about what to do however as there actually was nobody else around for her to talk to or interact with, it would end up working out in the end but boredom was not something Mikofujo enjoyed dealing with. Despite all this sometimes you had to do things that you did not wish to do, and so the two hours would pass uneventfully with the girl growing more and more impatient as time marched on. Pacing about she looked up at a clock almost every three minutes until she finally forced herself to go outside of the barn that functioned as the tannery. 

Relaxing herself outside she observed nature and felt her mind drift off as her senses took in the ambiance around her allowing her to pass some time in meditation rather than nervously wasting her energy as she was doing earlier. It turned out to be a good idea to do so and before she knew it, the time had come to retrieve and wring out the hides which she did rather quickly and efficiently. Soon after the hairs were removed methodically by her with metal tools that helped speed the ordeal along, which the ninja was thankful for as she just found the work boring overall compared to her other missions. Overall while it was a shorter mission it was truly the one she found least enjoyable and with that final thought she came to a close on the day.
