Searching for a Monster

The trip had been long and arduous but here he was. His red kimono had been flowing through the hot desert winds, but he didn't notice until he had arrived in front of the clefts. His eyes slowly went up to the gates as he looked around, first at the shack and then to whomever had been at the gates. He had wondered if his lead was correct and the monster was indeed here. Kazuhiro had enough bad leads as it was, and if this one didn't go as planned the he might've went back into isolation. First rumors of someone that resembled his father came into his possession about a month ago which prompted his return but first...he needed to seek out a friend. So he stood in front of the village gates with his bag to his right as he waited to be addressed by someone.

It took him a minute to realize someone had been talking to him, his eyes seemingly staring into the upper levels of the cleft. When he had realized the woman had addressed him, the coal eyes came to meet hers as he spoke," My name is Kazuhiro. I am here to find someone I had once called a friend a long time ago and to confirm something with him. A resource told me that he had been last seen here, maybe you could point me in his direction. His name would be Kenshin unless he goes by something different now," his eyes didn't leave hers as he waited for a response knowing it might trigger another set of questions or inquiries for using that name. Whatever the case might have been he was here now and he was going to find the answers he needed.

She too stared back into the lifeless coal eyes that seemed to barely even register her existence - it was not uncommon for people to come in search of Kenshin by way of nickname or title but this man knew him by his actual name… interesting. Heaving a deep sigh she would walk back into the guard tower and begin filling out a visitor pass - Name: Kazuhiro Reason for Visit: Searching for Kenshin. Restricted Areas: Training Grounds 6-10 and The Academy. Date of Entry: 10/11 Date of Exit: N/A. As she returned with the pass she would speak again, “If you want more permanent identification and freedom you’ll need to get permission from the man himself and a full ID from myself.” She was now just in front of him and was offering the pass out to him. “The man himself of course being the Kazekage, you’ll find him in the Kage tower - hard to miss as its the tallest point in the Spire, big spindly thing in the middle of the village. Don’t cause any trouble while you are here and if you do choose to stay… come see me again. Mizuki, by the way, since you had the manners to ask and all.” This was clearly a backhanded comment. Waving her hand at him after he finally took the pass she would enter the tower once more and open the gate for the man - watching him until he was out of sight.

The young male looked at the woman now that she was closer to him and didn't remove her eyes off her, of course he saw a threat in everyone including people he didn't know. Taking the pass with his left hand, his right would reach to grab his bag so that the pass would be dangling off of it to be seen. Her comment only warranted a small chuckle and a shrug before looking over toward the spire in the distance, " Sure Thing. Mizuki," were the only words he responded with as he side stepped her and began his entry into the village if that was all. The first step was done, now all that needed to be done was run into that monster and begin his inquiry.
