Mission details: Escort Service
Genki, Aichi's Stat Page: D Rank, Missing Nin
As usual Aichi was traveling. A few weeks had passed since his Berserk transformation had last occurred, so he was rolling high on a sphere of extacy. Everything was going well for him, and as he made it to the next village things got even better.
A elderly woman was looking for an able body to escort her a dozen kilometers east where her cousin was waiting for her. She was paying well, and the job seemed like a perfect match for his nomadic ways. Happily agreeing to be her guard, Aichi collected the money and the two began their journey. It was expected to take the woman two days, which was a bit longer than usual. That fat sack in his pocket made it worth it however, and Aichi enjoyed the company anyways.
This woman was named Matza, and was particularly cheerful. She was excited to make her see her cousin, and there was a wedding planned for her stay. She would be in the ceremony, and the old lady was extra excited. Matza told Aichi all about the make up she would wear, her ugly dress, and even a detailed history of the groom. The old lady talked for hours, almost as if she needn't to breathe.
Aichi was blinded by the Ryo, and while he was listening his mind was wondering elsewhere. He expected a nice weapon might suit his travels, and was wondering what kind of sword the next village might off. The woman was rambling on and on, and Aichi just nodded happily. The two were both in there own little worlds, which was fine as long as the journey was quiet.
Which it was, the entire way. Not a bush rattled the whole way, and Matza was eventually grumbling about wasted money. Her attitude began to shrink,, and Aichi was sort of uncomfortable. There was at least eighteen hours left to walk, and he almost hoped he might get to serve his purpose. Alas it wasnt so, and Matza was growing more and more begrudgingly sour.
At one point she mentioned Aichi buying her cousin a gift. The clueless lad literally guffawed, having no idea she meant it. Matza just took him to be a disrespectful youth, and ceased her yapping. Aichi was happy with that, since he didnt really care about her life anyway.
Still mustering the courage to get into Hoshigakure no Sato, where his mother's remains waited for his blessing; Aichi had far better things to think about than a wedding. In fact when the two finally arrived, he didnt even wish the cousin well. The young man was growing concerned with his next move, that rattle of Ryo in his pocket growing less alluring with each respectable memory of his duties to his family. The young man didnt know if Hoshigakure would be a suitable home, be he wanted to establish a clear cut from his past.
Aichi had lost a part of himself when he murdered his mother in their home of Hoshigakure, and that piece of his soul was waiting for its return. As if a ghost were floating over her grave calling to Aichi, he knew that he had a great calling to pay his respects.
With that in mind he decided he would check out some stores around the country side. Usually there were good deals on supplies, and he was still feeling that sword would be a great addition to his skillset.
Aichi left the town, his mission complete. Despite his success he was feeling some stress about Hoshigakure, and wondered what might come of his desire.
