Really can't see how this will end well [P/Mish]

Lachesis hummed and for a brief moment Yuu felt fear; had he done something wrong? Was it a good or bad hum? She was being silent, that couldn't be a good thing, could it? Subconsciously, Yuu's breathing halted as he waited for Lachesis to say something. His nervous fidgeting stopped completely as his nerves grew. At the back of his mind he knew that he was being silly; Lachesis had been nothing but nice to him this entire day. She'd helped put his leg back on, helped him discover a new way of seeing the world... And yet he still felt nervous for what might come next.

Suddenly, Lachesis was throwing something at him. His first instinct was do dodge, showcased by his flinch, but he remained still as he actually took in what it was: a headband.

He caught it with his real hand and ran his thumb along the metal rectangle, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. What... Why had she given him her headband? Then, as she spoke further, he realized that this was a promition. 'Of course,' he thought, suddenly feeling silly for his previous worry, 'That was why she wanted me to do the Academy Jutsu'. Wait, could she just promote him like this? He didn't even know if she was anything more than a genin! Was he even supposed to be a genin? Yuu still felt like he was much too young to be promoted like this but that wasn't the case, was it? He was the same age as all the other academy graduates, only, he'd missed over half of his education. He was ready, whether he liked it or not.

He lacedt the headband on his forehead - putting it the wrong way around, as was par for the course - and tied the band around the back of his head under the main of messy hair that had accumulated his whole life. He really should get that sorted at some point, but for now, he had other pressing matters. She asked him a question, and the Ex-Hyuuga mulled it over quickly. Did he have any affinities? It certainly wasn't the Gentle Fist style of his clan, and it wasn't in buttering up to nobles. If he had to name something, though, he supposed that he was better with weapons than most.

"I... have an... affin-ity for wind chakra," He said, voice straining after the amount of time he'd spent using it today, "I'm also pretty... Good with weapons, I think." His voice was clearer the second time, almost like he was forcing himself to speak normally. He knew that the speed and volume at which he spoke was probably annoying, so he wanted to practice stretching it a bit more.

She gave an affirmative noise, a sort of half hum in response to his statements before immediately moving forwards. Pomp and circumstance was wasted on her. On the plus side: she had a wind affinity as well. The negative was that she barely knew anything regarding its application. Although, if he demonstrated an interest in weaponry…

“If you’re decent at chakra infusion, I could probably send something your way.” a pause as she thought on her words. Did they still teach that in the academy? “In theory, if you practice well, you could infuse wind chakra into your limbs.” the prosthetic ones, anyway. “Best way to start is by channeling chakra into peelings of tree bark. As soon as you can straighten it perfectly without causing it to crack, move up to sticks and kunai.” too much and the item would be destroyed- too little and it wouldn’t have an effect.

“For kunai… hm. Tiger, Boar, and Rat make for a Flying Swallow. It’s a decent starting point.” she’d remain quiet after that, listening in to any questions the new genin would potentially have. “Get those two things down and I’ll see about showing you some stuff later.”

Lachesis wouldn’t leave any instructions on how to locate her- she followed a somewhat regular schedule, and with chakra sensory he’d likely have a much easier time. The ice user would prepare to leave- she’d been here for a bit longer than anticipated, after all- and make her way towards the exit with little haste, unless Yuu had anything he needed her for.

Yuu cocked his head to the side at Lachesis' semi question about whether or not he was good at chakra infusion. Since, as an Academy Student - wait, wasn't he technically a genin now? -, he didn't really have much experience being a ninja and stuff. He felt like, if he cast his mind back to the early days, he had been shown the basics of infusing chakra into things by his clan. It had been so long ago, however, that he couldn't really remember how. Thankfully, the woman was giving him some instructions so he made sure to keep a mental note of everything she was saying so he could practice on his own later.

He did the same for the instructions on how to do Flying Swallow, his real left hand going through the handseals at his side as she spoke. There was a lot more to the doing the technique than just doing the handseals, but it was a start. Thankful for everything that Lachesis had shown him, including the kindness to fix his leg, the Ex-Hyuuga took a small bow towards her. She'd shown him a new way to look at the world today and for that, Yuu was immensely grateful.

"Thank... You." He said, voice finally giving way after all the strain he'd put it under. It'd probably be the last thing he said today. With that, it seemed it was time for Lachesis to go. That was fine, she'd given him a lot to practice on his own time. After she left, Yuu sat down with his training kunai and began work on attempting to figure out how to infuse his chakra into it.
