Mission time fun time

Regis would wake up early in the morning in order to get to the mines for his next mission. It would be a bit of a walk and he wanted to bring a lunch in for it as well. It was going to a very hard and labor heavy job since it would mean he and someone else would have to be miners for the day. But he was excited to get some materials for his weapons and armors. He knew he would need it down the line at one point. He didnt need to worry about that for now however, he was content in learning new things and trying to get better at being a ninja. He would leave his home with his new sword, and a pack of lunch and a lot of water, since he will need it for later. It would be a long and boring walk to the mines, he would need to get there early before the days work would start and get the run down. Fortunately since he tried to be diligent about his work he would get there before anyone else and would simply wait around. Some of the normal miners would past him and he would give them a passing smile as they did but other then that he would be waiting for his day to start with the foremen giving them the go ahead and his mission partner to show up. Hopefully this person would be someone new as Regis didnt really know people but would love to try and meet people he might be working with for a long part of his life.

Kozai had dispatched his Preta path to the industrial mining zone to do a little bit of oversight and auditing. He was familiar with both the mining process and, in particular, the ore purification process. While there was plenty of real mining going on here, the facilities surrounding the mine itself were mostly used to wash impurities out of the metal. Toxic, dangerous stuff, really. It was also used to process stolen gold and the like into useable, marketable material. Oh, the process was a risky one to people who didn't have the proper experience, control, and protective equipment. Acid baths and fumes everywhere. Kozai had known not a few workers in Iwa who had met painful ends from a lack of preparedness when dealing with chemicals like these.

None of this really mattered, though. The mining operations provided Hoshigakure with raw materials; in particular, materials for building weapons. Tools broke all the time, ninja tools in particular. Therefore, it was up to the people at the top, such as himself, to put the less fortunate to work in inhumane conditions such as these, in order to keep Hoshigakure's nascent war machine humming and running smoothly.

One way or the other, however, Kozai was here to aid some shinobi in a mission. Why the kage felt it necessary to post a mission involving tungsten processing to paramilitary personnel was quite beyond Kozai's understanding. Fighting men, doing this kind of brutal labor for no reason? Maybe it was some kind of test of obedience. To Kozai's knowledge, such things were common among the ranks of various shinobi forces. Why should this village's be any different? Eh, he didn't have to expend much effort to get the task done anyway. His true self could simply lounge in his office, while his Preta Path could handle this for him.
