The flowers were rather tall and the roots were longer still, the plucking not going quite as smoothly as initially anticipated. The roots were one of the more poisonous aspects of the flora, so Komori continued to make sure that he was collecting what was necessary, although his mind wandered as to the nature of this request. Could it have been training for other shinobi, making them grow more and more resilient to all kinds of poisons to further develop immunity? That seemed the most likely to him based on his own background, but he was at least seventy percent certain that Tanbogakure would not stoop to such means. Alternatively, there may be a cooking method, not that Komori was all too familiar with those, that could remove the toxins from the plant and create a nice, hardy meal. Or the most likely of all, they were supplying some individual’s reserves of poison for their own nefarious purposes.

Straining to get away from these thoughts, Komori turned his head in time to notice Asahi partaking in the harvest. While admiring his and Hayato’s preventative means, he was fairly certain that the toxicity was really only apparent when it was ingested, not necessarily inhaled. It appeared to be a good move that the Hozuki was so carefully grabbing roots in the event that they were needed, as Asahi appeared to pay them little to no mind, leaving them submerged in the soil. Hayato appeared keen to pick up after the spiritualist, so the cynic opted to continue his own task at hand. He added onto Hayato’s input with his own, “You would likely get in touch with your soul quite well, as it would be leaving your body.” His casual response should hopefully not take away from the very real threat ingesting this poisonous plant posed. The Yuki was smart enough to not only bring protective gear, but also a means of transporting the collected goods. Komori would approach him after collecting his fair share, and ask for permission. “May I?” Assuming the answer would be yes, Komori would then wrap what he reaped in the paper scrolls Hayato had brought. He looked around at the wilderness, the serene calm washing over him. “This was easier than expected,” he muttered to himself before giving the genin an affirmative nod.

The kind Yuki allowed for his companions to utilize the materials he had prepared for the mission with such foresight as to make Asahi seem blind. At least, thought the man with a single eye. Yasahiro. The name sounded familiar, perhaps spoken in passing or at the bar he frequented. Without a face to the name, however, Komori was left in the dark. The identity of whoever Asahi was speaking of would remain a mystery to the outsider for now. It did not seem the kind of topic to broach on a calm stroll back to the village gates, as it may open a can of worms that Mori was not quite ready to handle. Another time might work best after all. 

The uneventful stroll back to the village of rice would come to an end. With nothing else of note going on during the time, Komori would carefully consider the offer from Asahi, mentally crossing his fingers that the meal and tea would take place at the shop that was not tied to the metaphysical. He could either return home to his comfortable farmstead or venture off into town with someone who moments ago had wanted to use poison in a blend. “Only so long as the tea is not made from any hemlock you snuck into your pocket,” he would jest in response. “I’ll join you, Hayato,” Komori began, adjusting the bushel of hemlock that he himself had been carrying. “We can meet you after we’re done, Asahi.”
