I got a pocket Pocket full of Sunshine
A L O V E & ITS ALL MINE
A L O V E & ITS ALL MINE
Aihara would nod towards her Uncle Cid, a bright smile across her face as she grabbed ahold of Grey and headed off in the direction that the guards had once stated they had last heard of the refugees being; once they got a little ways out, Aihara would place her hand onto the dirt around her; digging her small paws into the ground as she focused her energy towards every living being that was surrounding her, of course she picked up her brother, the guards that were behind them; several different types of creatures; large and small as she took a large inhale. Clearing her mind of all current signatures that surrounded her; her body melding with the energy around her; small sparks of lightening would begin to form around the small child as her chakra would begin to slowly seep around her; the light pink color growing in intensity of the natural affinity to her element of lightening grew around her body as her senses heightened even more.
She was young, but very good at tracking, her sensory skills for someone her age were incomparable to others as she had always seemed to have an affinity towards sensory type techniques. The girl was still young and unable to fully control most of her abilities, and still had quite a long way to go before she could fully master herself in any form of true power, but it was something she had been working on; usually only working on tracking her brother and Cid, but this would be the first time that Aihara would go out of her comfort zone and track strangers.
And track she did, as the lightening began to whip around the small body of the child like crazy, her chakra weaving around with the lightening as she focused on the energy of a small group, it took some searching, and much of the girls energy; the blood trickling down from her nose was more than enough sight to prove that; her already weakened body grew more weaker as she would begin to wobble slightly; once she was finally able to locate and pinpoint their chakra signatures around six hundred yards from their current location, her face would shoot up, eyes flinging open as she turned enough to look at her big brother, “Is got them Grey!” She would chirp proudly before the lightening and chakra would all but die down immediately; and she would collapse onto the ground with a soft ‘thud’.

Re: My Loneliness is Killing Me (Aihara, Cid, Gray)

His polite inquiry was soon met by a response, or at least something that should resemble one, the man behind the desk slowly standing up as he revealed himself, his posture making him strikingly look like a hobbit of some sorts. Taking a drag from his cigarette, Frodo or whatever his name was, explained the situation to Grey and the rest of their group. From what they were told, it appeared the site had been dealing with a couple of break ins, unfortunate events terrorizing the faciltiy as the culprits were yet to be found. Blowing the smoke, luckily in the opposite direction of the Hyuuga, the man pointed them in the direction of the guards, telling the crew to seek them out and help discover whoever was behind all of this.
Following the man's instructions Grey would descend the roadway into the mine, hoping to find the guards they were looking for. Continuing making his way down, the swordsman listened as Auron suggested splitting up in two groups, something Cid could find himself agree to. The red haired pirate would look in Grey's direction, stating he'd rather stay behind and dig up some ore. The young Hyuuga didn't need to hear more to understand what his friend was getting at, more than aware of his difficult relationship with men and woman of the law. With a simple nod he implied to have understood the message. "Come on little brat, we got work to do". By then Aihara had taken hold of his hand, leading them in the direction of where the guards had been stated to be.
As they headed towards their next location, the young girl placed her hand onto the dirt around them, activating the sensory abilities she possessed for as long as she could remember. Grey would give her some time, knowing how much energy the entire process required and the toll it would take on her small body. After a couple of minutes, Aihara's face suddenly shot up as she looked at Grey, informing her brother that she had found the guards. "Good job little one, let's go" the Hyuuga smiled, gently patting his little sister's head before picking her up and cleaning the blood running down her nose. He allowed her to rest, walking in the direction Aihara pointed out earlier, expecting to find the guards by the time the little sensory specialist woke up.

Re: My Loneliness is Killing Me (Aihara, Cid, Gray)

"Guess we don't have any other choice huh?" Auron would respond to Cid as he also slung a pickaxe over his shoulder. Following this, Auron would walk over towards the supervisors who stood within the pit. They had grouped out near what appeared to be an iron ore outcrop which had been freshly exposed and easily visualized. From what Auron could over hear, they seemed to be deciding on what would be the best course of action to break the rock down. As the receptionist and the mission details had indicated, the mine had been short of hands lately. So the Yamaguchi speculated that they were trying to assess some level of resource management to figure out who they even had available to work on this. It was almost as if Auron and Cid had come to the rescue.
"Uh excuse me, we're some temporary hands for fire. The receptionist told us if we assisted, we'd get compensated and offered some ore for our entire party."
"Boy am I glad to see you too. Yes yes, break this outcrop down and your group can have whatever they want. If we don't get a significant chunk of this outcrop broken down, then our production is slowed by a week. If you somehow manage to get this all down to head sized rocks that would be perfect. We could probably get all of this processed by the end of the week."
Auron would nod in response and look over to the outcrop and then back towards Cid. The outcrop had been at least 2 meters tall, and 1 meter wide and in somewhat of a conical shape. It was relatively person sized, but still looked to be quite a bit of work for just two men with pickaxes. Auron would sigh lightly, thinking back on how he had performed similar work recently. But ryo was ryo, and he needed it. Along with some of the refined ore that he was promised.
"Well, let's get to it."
Following this, the supervisors would step aside and go off to handle the next issue. Auron would proceed close enough towards one side of the outcrop and firmly grasp his pickaxe with both hands. Raising it to the sky, he'd lunge his foot forward and simultaneously swing the pickaxe down in a swift motion. The sharpness of its spear would shallowly pierce a portion of the rock formation and an audible *chip* was heard. Boy would this be a process. After the first swing, Auron would wind up his second and swing it downward onto the same spot. He'd go on to repeat this motion of actions until a significant depth had been reached on that point of impact. Once it seemed as if he dug enough there, he'd change his digging point to a bit lower. He'd carry out the same sequence on this spot. As he made his rounds through digging deep onto various spots of this formation, the host's rocks integrity would be weakened. Yet the strenuous labor imposed on Auron would tire him out as well. That combined with the harshness of the sun would force him to take a quick break. He'd lower the pickaxe down so that its spear rested on the ground. Hunching over slightly, he'd raise his eyes to peer out and glance at Cid.
"How you doing over there? I think I've got it weakened in a couple spots. I'm thinking a few more, and we may be able to make the whole thing fall apart."
Auron would listen to the response from the man while he continued to catch his breath. As his breathing calmed and his heart rate slowed, he stopped sweating as much. He could feel a bit of his energy rejuvenating, and now felt ready to continue. He'd erect his back and start the whole process over again. After making several more weak points, it was clear that the work between him and Cid was almost over. The Yamaguchi wasn't even sure how much time had passed by at this point, but it felt like ages. Yet after his next swing, a head sized chunk of rock would come tumbling down towards the side of crop. He'd smile underneath his mask, and chip away at the next section. And as him and Cid did so, more and more of the crop would break down until it was nothing more than a pile of rocks of relatively equal size.
Upon finishing this, the supervisors would return. "Great job! I came over to check on you guys but you seem done. The rest of your group is finished and waiting for you all. But before you meet them at the receptionists area, grab some of our refined steel from that bin over there. Make sure to grab some for your friends too!"
Auron, too tired to form words, would just grunt slightly with a forced nod. "Alright..." he'd let out. "Let's go." He'd be drenched in sweat, but nevertheless would have enough energy to take two portions of the high grade steel and lead the charge out of the quarry. Once him and Cid reached the top, he'd lug over the samples of steel towards the receptionist office where he'd see Aihara and Grey speaking with the receptionist.
"Oh great, you're all here," he'd say while exhaling a puff of smoke. "Good work. As promised, here's your payment. Now, please...leave." And without a further word, the receptionist returned to his office but not before distribution the payment to each of the party members before him.
Auron would take the time to walk up towards Aihara, "Hey this is some high quality steel. This is your portion of the reward. I think Cid has Grey's, unless you guys worked something out. But in any case, I'm beat to hell. Let's get back to town."
Auron would hand over the steel to Aihara, and tuck his payment firmly into his wallet. Following this, he'd continue to engage in any debriefing and banter the group had to offer but for the most part would keep quiet. He was glad they undertook the missions as a group, and was happier that he seemed to find some people to potentially ally with. Of course this would take time to legitimize, but they had potential. And he'd think more on this as he progressed away from the quarry's property and back towards the village. When they'd arrive, he'd bid the group farewell and return to the comfort of his room in the inn. He'd run himself a bath, and get prepared for some well deserved rest.

Re: My Loneliness is Killing Me (Aihara, Cid, Gray)

The pair stuck with the far more laborious task of tearing ore from rock would get on with it. As expected, Auron seemed far more capable with a weapon in his hand, even if that weapon so happened to be a pick. Cid would also do his best to keep up, though admittedly he was far slower and clumsier with his digging tool than his comrade had been. Not really accustomed to such tasks, he'd keep checking back to see what Auron was doing and do his best to replicate it. When asked how he was doing, Cid would offer a slight shrug, "Hard to tell. Think I'm doing this right at least." It was far from perfect and he definitely wasn't going to win any style points for it being 'pretty', but the task would soon be completed. The red headed rogue would wipe the sweat from his brow as best he could, but his forearms were also covered. He was definitely going to have to give his clothes a wash after they got back. At this rate he wasn't going to have anything clean at all left to wear.
The supervisor would return, surprised that they had gotten finished so quickly. Perhaps Cid was quicker than he originally thought. Maybe all that chakra running through him just gave him some sort of physical superiority over the common laborer? He'd not dwell on it much, since he didn't really know the intricacies over how the chakra network did indeed strengthen the body. There was a whole series of techniques based on the concept.
Cid, exhausted from the mining, would quietly follow along. His arms felt like limp noodles and he barely wanted to muster up the effort needed to pick up the two shares of the refined metal he needed to bring back to the others. Still, he wasn't one to turn down payment for his services and so he'd gather his strength and haul the ingots.
Once they met up with the others, it would seem like they were all done and ready to claim payment. Auron gave Aihara her portion, and Cid would give his Hyuuga pal a grin before handing off both portions. He was glad that he had less to carry on the trip back. "I worked up quite an appetite so I hope you are ready to hold up your end of the bargain."
Once they were all paid and ready, Cid would return to the town tapping his finger to his chin as they passed each restaurant, pondering which place would be first. When Auron parted ways, Cid would offer a knowing nod. "Good meeting you today."

I got a pocket Pocket full of Sunshine
A L O V E & ITS ALL MINE
A L O V E & ITS ALL MINE
As Aihara collapsed, the small body being caught by her big brother; Grey, she would find herself calm almost instantly when his arms wrapped around her… This was the man who saved her, who took her when she had lost everything… The warmth of her own parents’ arms were but a distant memory… Something she couldn’t quite remember anymore, but instead the warmth of Grey’s arms had replaced that of her parents… She found herself at night no longer calling for her mother or father, but rather she would cry out for her brother, adopted or not; Aihara found no difference… Grey was more than just her brother, he took the place of her caretaker, a parent, taking on both roles… She adored the man, even through the difficult times she would often put him through.
Aihara knew her abilities with sensory were something all but experimental, she had a strength towards it unlike any other type of jutsu… Grey was always pushing to her to train and learn from him, not only in jutsu but also in her own physical strength, something the child lacked a lot of. Aihara would sigh, finding herself drifting in and out of consciousness as Grey carried her along the path, she had pointed out for them to travel.
Aihara wasn’t sure if this current mission they had taken on was something that she was in agreement with; but money was money and at this point she wanted nothing more than to build a proper home to fill with all kinds of candy and bonbons! Her dreams fluttered around her head of all different kinds of sweets and treats that she would be able to have in her own home… The more money she made from her missions, the more of a chance they got closer and closer to getting that home she dreamed of.
She felt sorrow for the refugees that they were hunting, but they were paid to do the job, and the job is exactly what they would do. As Grey continued his long march to where Aihara sensed them, she would stir, the chakra that they were heading towards was dark… Dangerous… Something about it wasn’t right… She found herself sitting up quickly as she could feel the pit inside of her stomach turn wheezy and unable to communicate these feelings quick enough, she would manage to get out of Grey’s arms just in time for the contents of her stomach to empty on the side of the bush line.
Unable to explain the toxicity of the chakra she was feeling, she would attempt to at least warn Grey in her own way; the frustration of being mentally sound enough to understand the surroundings, yet the physical aliment that didn’t allow her to communicate the feeling towards continuing the path before them; “Bad!” She would cry, pulling Grey’s arm towards the way they had just came; not wanting to continue any further.
“Ahem…” A guard that was in tow with Grey and Aihara would lift his voice, reminding the pair that they were being paid for a job; at this point Aihara didn’t care about the money; but knowing Grey and his ‘honor’ they would continue to push forward, Aihara was in tow behind the guards by a distance as the feeling of the evil and overwhelming chakra would continue to make her feel sicker and sicker as she came closer to it…
She knew that she wanted no more involvement in this cursed mission; but she couldn’t let her brother take the entire brunt force of whatever was coming their way… Her only hope was that Grey was far stronger, or these guards weren’t as useless as they looked.
A small sigh as the cave opening came into their view, an old man sat out staring at the small girl with nearly closed eyes… Aihara would stare back; her large pink bulbs confused… The feeling of the chakra was there, but distance… Faint…? A confusing factor for the small girl as she had geared up for a battle… A battle that it didn’t seem like was going to happen. The old man seemed to only be focused on the girl as he sat there… Aihara wasn’t even sure if the others seen the man; although when he began to speak to her, she was certain that he wasn’t speaking out loud… He seemed to be able to speak to her in her mind…
“The road you travel, should you continue to move forward will lead you to heartache and pain.” The old mans voice was shaky, and deep… Yet it seemed wise? The girl was confused to say the very least…
“How would you know what road I travel when I do not?” Aihara would respond within her own mind, the smirk that came across the mans face was something that would cause shivers to run down the girls spine… Something about him made her uncomfortable… Something about him didn’t make any sense at all…
“I know more than you believe, or care to believe in. The roads will lead you to the oceans. Be weary of those who you choose to travel with. And who you give your sword to.” The man’s voice would ring through her mind…
The only thing that didn’t seem to make sense to the girl was ‘sword’, she had no plans of owning a sword? What form of metaphor was this man trying to play with? Within the moments of the conversation that happened between the old man and Aihara’ she found herself being broken from the concertation to sounds of screams and cries of the refugees as the guards would line them up; shackling them one by one… A disgusting sight to say the very least. The old man would speak once more;
“For now one may remain broken, but to follow the path, and break the pattern one must seek a way to grow. Grow into the poisonous viper that you are. A woman stuck in a child’s body no more than a boy in a mans body remains unpredictable.”
Aihara listened to those words carefully, confused by the meaning of them… A woman stuck in a child’s body? Is that what was happening to her? She was unsure what it all meant… And it wasn’t as if she could ask for help in figuring it out… A small sigh as she moved herself back towards Grey, with the refugees lined and shackled, they would make their back back and get their payments.
Once they made their way back; they would be met with Uncle Cid and the new guy, who she already dubbed her ‘Uncle’ Auron; they would be awarded their payments, and her eyes would scan Auron as he approached the girl; handing her something that she starred at for several moments, blinking and unsure what to do with it. But nevertheless she would give the man a bright smile, “Thank you Uncle Auron!” She would blurt out, her eyes catching something off to the side of them; hearing only a small portion of conversation about something known as ‘aging pills’ this caught the girls attention, after taking her payment and the steel she would slip out while the others were speaking, going to find the answer to her questions from earlier.

Re: My Loneliness is Killing Me (Aihara, Cid, Gray)
Tue Aug 09, 2022 11:18 am
With Aihara still in his arms, the young Hyuuga carried her and continued on the path she set out for them. He remained vigilant at all times, wary of their surroundings as they found themselves in unknown grounds, not knowing what to expect. From that point forward, they were entering uncharted territory. As they did, Grey noticed how his little sister slowly started to wake up after losing her consciousness from overexhausting herself when she used her Sensory abilities earlier. However, it appeared something was troubling her, the child quickly sitting up and running to the bushes where she would empty her stomach.
A cry escaped Aihara's mouth, an attempt to warn Grey that something dangerous would be waiting for them. "It'll be alright, I'm here" he tried to comfort his sister, assuring her that he would protect her from the ominous feeling she got from the situation. By then another man had shown up, joining their conversation to remind them about the reason they were there at the first place. "And a job I will do". The money wasn't his biggest concern and if it weren't for Aihara he probably wouldn't have gone out in the first place. But he promised her a home, safety and a place she could always return to, which is why he had no other choice than to persevere.
As the two of them continued to walk, accompanied by one of the guards, the cave opening finally came within sight, a sign Grey and Aihara had arrived at the location described by the man upon the group's arrival earlier that day. Upon inspecting the area, the Hyuuga noticed signs of human life, burnt branches and scorched pieces of wood which could only mean that a fire had been put out not that long ago. "They can't be that far" the swordsman voiced, placing his right hand on the katana which he carried on the right side of his hip before continuing the search.
He would follow the tracks which led them deeper into the cave, the sound of water being able to be heard the further they went. After walking for a couple of minutes they finally stumbled upon something, light shining and noises coming from the distance. "I found them". What Grey saw there was a group of people, all shackled up, meaning they had to be the refugees they were tasked to find and return. Even if he felt bad for them, the Hyuuga swordsman knew there was still a task he needed to complete in order to receive the money from the reward.
Once Grey and Aihara made their way back they were greeted by both Cid and Auron who completed their part of the task as well. For now the group and the newcomer would part ways, saying their goodbyes but having a feeling they would meet again in the future. "Yes, let's get ourselves something to eat" the Hyuuga would smile, aware that the little brat had sneaked away.
