Backstory:

Hiden: Mindsurfer is an augmented version of Hiden: Mind Body Switch Technique. This version of the signature technique of the Yamanaka clan is specialized for use on targets that do not require as much strenuous effort to possess when compared to a ranked shinobi. This technique can be used on animals, and humans who are not very adept at wielding chakra such as those encountered in non-hunter missions.

Appearance: The user's eyes roll back into their skull or their irises glow white. A fragment of the user's consciousness leaves their body in a straight line beam that measures 5cm in diameter, and extends up to ten meters homing towards the intended target. This beam is invisible to the naked eye but can be detected with methods of chakra detection such as Chakra Sensory. The eyes of the possessed body either roll back into their skull and come back down as perfectly normal, or their irises glow white and remain iridescent until they are released from the technique.

The user sends a fragment of their consciousness out of their body and towards an intended target. This technique can be used to possess the body of NPC animals, or humans within a radius of 10 meters from the user's body. Upon possessing a new vessel, the user gains the vessel's senses and recent memories. The use of this technique allows the user to scout areas and gather intel during missions. For example, they may possess a bird to scout a battleground in advance, or possess a street cat to learn if there has been any suspicious activity around its corner. If the user is really immoral, they may use it to possess the bartender and get him to pour an extra round on the house, although they would likely have some explaining to do before they can get to downing their shot. This technique may also be used on active familiars or summons that the user has in their possession. This technique may not be used on apped NPC's. While in the possession of a body, the user may their use their own sensory techniques of D rank or below from the new vessel, as long as the vessel is within 50 meters of the user's original body. While using this technique on its own, the user's body remains still - they are unable to move their original body or use it to perform other techniques although they will not collapse. After the use of this technique, the user's mind returns to their body at jutsu speed.
