Frosted Tips [Travel to Frost]
Mon Aug 01, 2022 7:09 pm
It was not going to be fun; Kinko had a journey ahead of him that he have to conduct alone. While he was used to being alone, it would be nice to have someone help watch his back. There was always protection in numbers, something that he liked about his clan in Lightning Country and he knew there are other clan mates around the world but it was different. He understood why people never left home, sometimes it did not make sense. Everything he needed was already there, he even had assistants. Now, everything was up to him, even his laundry. The smallest things, the things he had taken for granted. He wondered how much of his home he would miss, though he wondered how much he would learn. He figured he would learn to love the places we will go to. He was going to have to get used to travel lightly, he had a long trip ahead of him. He did not have many worldly possessions but he had his favorites. His favorite shirts, hairbands, and bracelets, all the small stuff that he can carry. He knew he would forget about the rest of his stuff, like statutes, art, and other things that he left in his home. He could not imagine that he would forget his room but he was looking forward to the future. He was talking one step in front of the other as he continued to trek through thinking about himself and what he needed to do.
The weather started to drop, Kinko knew he was getting closer to the Frost Country, the boarder was closing in on him. He could feel the chill begin to creep into his bones. He continued to walk through the Frost Country and there would be nothing else he could do. He had a simple map that would help him get to the major highways to get to the Hot Springs Country; Kinko knew that he was going to take the safe route with the inns and places to eat. He knew he was not going to spend a lot of time in the country but he wanted to enjoy all the time that he could. He figured this place had the best soup, soup is always better when it's cold out.
...
One foot in front of the other, he was walking down a path well traveled. He was one of many and Kinko found solace in that. Soon, he would be in the country where he needed to be and even sooner, he would be enjoying himself a nice hot cup of tea with a nice bowl of local soup. Just the idea was enough to warm him as the shiver started to come, one that was almost surprising because Kinko really did not expect it to be this cold. Still, he wondered how much easier the trip would be with just another person. He wondered who he would meet on this path. His eyes continued down the path, down the highway that would take him to fulfill his destiny.

To the south, neighboring just a few kilometers off from the Dragon Ravine, lay the border to Frost Country. Something about that place kind of resonated with his past. He had felt as if some answers about it may lie there, or at least near there. It was also why he was allured to fight the bandit at the Dragon Ravine, with potential hopes to determine whether or not they ever crossed paths with his once thought to be dead brother. Unfortunately, no information had been gained at that current time, but the Ravine still was a distance off from the border between the two adjacent countries, so maybe he just didn’t search well enough.
Deciding to take this sight seeing tour on the investigative side, Hiroki Shimada, the Raiju of Kumogakure and the Dragon Slayer, would march southward bound.
Going past the exact spot where his first trial of combat took place, it wasn’t long before the weather, more specifically the temperature, would grow much colder. More harsh and bitter for a summer’s day. The lone wolf alongside his wolfen familiar would come across a highway that traveled towards Frost, and a bit further down the road, there was another traveler. Walking all by their lonesome. Turning to Shichiro, the 18 year old would telepathically commune with the full grown dire wolf. ”Someone lie ahead, maybe a weary villager?” The nin would say in his head, to which the wolf would harshly disagree ”Or it could be a missing ninja of Kumogakure, keep your eyes peeled, kid.”
Keeping his familiars words in mind, the man dawned in red ronin robes would speed up slightly until he reached 25 meters away from the walking stranger. His voice would call out to grab his attention. ”Oi! You there, where you coming from? And where you traveling to?” Depending upon the other person’s response and their following actions, would determine what exactly the Chunin would do next.
