The End.
Thu Sep 08, 2022 8:05 pm
Gonk decided that this would be the day. He wasn’t sure why it was today, nothing in particular had changed overnight. But he just felt that his time had come. He was almost in a trance as he wrote the note that was left on his desk, alongside his Mizukage hat. As the teenage boy closed the door one last time, he wished for a moment that he had been able to do something meaningful with his title. But then it passed, and once more he felt nothing at all. Gonk wandered through Kirigakure, noticing places he had been for missions, or for fun. Another emotion coursed through him. Nostalgia? Regret? He wasn’t sure, but it told him that it was time to go. Gonk went through the routine that he had done countless times of untying his boat and getting it ready for sea. Then he was off. As the boat started pulling away from the island, Gonk allowed himself one glance back, and for a moment memories of his life in kirigakure flooded through his mind. His parents when he was little, meeting all of his friends, doing missions with them. But then the moment passed, and his eyes returned to the sea.
Gonk wasn’t sure where he was going. It was like a dream where he wasn’t in control of his actions, he was just along for the ride. For a while it just seemed like he was going nowhere, but then he saw something. The ruins of a city from another era. Gonk had no idea how or why he got there, but he knew this was where he was meant to be. The gravel crunched under his feet as Gonk jumped off the ship and onto this strange land. Once again he started walking towards something, though he didn’t know what yet. Weaving left and right around structures long ago destroyed, Gonk felt tranquility seep through his body. While his mind had already been relatively blank, his body became numb as well, the taste of salt fading from his mouth, and the wind against his skin dulling. Suddenly Gonk stopped. In front of the Mizukage was a sword, heavily weathered from sitting out for so long. Gonk knelt down in front of it and took out his own blade, Kiribachi.
Unbeknownst to Gonk, this was the spot where the First Mizukage had taken his own life. Xyxer, the man Gonk had hated with a burning passion for as long as he could remember. It was sort of poetic in a way, that it would end like this. Gonk took only one breath to steady his hand, then the three meter long blade tasted blood for the very last time.
The life of Gonk Hoshigaki could be seen as a tragic one. He lost his parents at a young age, he grew up depressed and alone, and when he finally found happiness in friends that cared about him, they all disappeared. Gonk wanted to make a difference when he took on the role of Mizukage, but unfortunately he just became a failure, accomplishing nothing in the months he was in office. Perhaps they would remember the good work he did as a genin, jounin and ANBU, but more likely he would just be remembered as the Fourth Mizukage. The boy who bit off more than he could chew.
As the young Hoshigaki’s body hit the ground, a pool of blood started to form, tinting his blue scales deep red. Alas, this concludes the tale of Gonk Hoshigaki, he died the way he lived most of his life: alone.

As Auron had been sailing through the massive ocean, the captain of the ferry had pointed out that the pair had almost arrived at their destination. Upon hearing this Auron emerged from the passenger's cabin and made his way to the deck of the ship. Once he arrived he'd cast his gaze across the ocean. The tides were calm and so the water was nice and still. However from the storm that previously persisted, there was a lingering fog that lowered visibility tremendously. However through the fog, Auron can barely make out what appeared to be a land mass off in the distance. For some reason it had been alluring to him, like it once emanated a source of familiar chakra.
"Sir," Auron would say to the captain, "Can we divert our course momentarily?"
"What? To where?"
"To that island off in the distance, just Northwest of here."
The captain would just grumble to himself, while simultaneously steering the wheel of the ship in the direction that Auron had pointed to. And within minutes the ship would be arriving at the beach of the island. Surprisingly, there had been a small boat already docked on its shore with footprints leading in a direction away from it.
"Wait right here for a moment." Auron would instruct the captain. He'd then descend from the ship as the captain anchored it and began to follow the footsteps. Along the way he'd note that this location seemed to be historically significant, like an ancient civilization of some sorts. However it was all in ruins, quite a shame honestly as this place seemed to have good potential. But it wasn't long walking down this path that Auron came across something that made the allure of this place make sense. The body of Gonk, the Mizukage, lied motionless on the floor in a pool of his own blood. The sight of this man hurt Auron's heart, knowing that he was one of the few people he actually bonded with. The Yamaguchi had been looking forward to meeting, establishing some type of agreement, and perhaps undertake more missions together. But now that wouldn't be the case. Auron would take the time and sit upon the ground next to Gonk, silently and stoically mourning over the kage. And as he did so the day passed him by, escaping entirely from Auron's grasp. When the sun would fall, Auron would recognize that he had spent far too much time here and was now worried that the ship captain would leave without him. He stood in place and looked down upon Gonk's body. It just didn't feel right leaving him here. He'd think for a moment, then withdraw a corpse storage scroll from the item pouch on his right hip. Auron unraveled the scroll, positioned it adjacent to Gonk, and then would place his hand upon the scroll. In an instant, Gonk and his possessions would be transported into the confines of the scroll. Auron subsequently formed the Rat and Dog heal seals and funneled chakra into his hand that bore the corpse storage scroll. Immediately the scroll would be teleported to Auron's storage dimension, which would conclude the process of procuring the Mizukage's body.
With that finished, Auron would dart from his location back towards the beach. But as he approached close enough, he'd see the captain's ship nowhere to be found. And just like that he was stranded. Or so he thought. He'd rummage through his item pouch and grab ahold of what felt like a coin. One of mystical properties that he received not long ago. Grasping it tightly in his hand, he'd think of Fire Country borders where his team had been located and in a flash...Auron would teleport away from this beach, back to the location he had just departed from.

This is a completed topic that goes back multiple months. And when an "invasion" happens, this is subject to staff review. Nobody died nor lost their character, at least from Auron entering the topic. Auron knew Gonk IC; the body wasn't destroyed nor claimed by someone else. And those appear to be Gonk's OOC wishes as well.
After reviewing the situation with the rest of the staff, the decision is unanimous.
The claim is Approved.
