A return to normal (Training, Open to Suna Nin)

It had been a long time since Asuka was properly functioning as a genin. He hadn’t used his medical ninjutsu in ages, and his skills had most likely gotten rusty in the time he’d been away. But wallowing about it wasn’t what needed to be done at the moment. Sharpening old skills, and regaining his old competence, was far more important. Thus, the young man had decided to train. He hadn’t succeeded in creating a useable chakra scalpel before he’d halted his training, and working on creating them now might be a great way to regain a little familiarity with actually using techniques.

Besides, techniques that required a precise amount of control were certainly good training. That in mind, he’d headed to the training grounds a genin like himself could actually use. He’d call it quits when he could use the scalpels to successfully cut any object harder than dirt, preferably wood or stone. But the first, and most important part was actually forming one.

The young man breathed in deeply, eyes closed, just feeling the flow of his chakra for the moment before he dared gather it at his fingertips. The sensation was familiar enough, but didn’t come as easily as he remembered. He’d definitely stagnated for too long.

He waited for a moment before moving onto the next step, allowing himself to become more familiar with the feeling of manipulating his chakra again. Next was shaping it, which was a bit trickier. Frowning, eyes still closed, the genin allowed himself to feel. The barest shape of a chakra scalpel seemed to appear, but to his frustration, flickered out before he could fully form it.

Asami was strolling around thinking about all the things she wanted to learn. She was a fresh out-of-the-academy kid with lots of hope and motivation. Looking around she saw that she had accidentally or more absentmindedly walked to the training ground. Smiling and nodding she decided that now was a good time to train. She had been hoping to dive deeper into elemental ninjutsu and even more into her clan's specialty wood. She knew from her mothers' knowledge she needed to mix both earth and water element, but the problem was that she did know how or even if she could. A small sigh escaped her lips, Asami knew that she had an aptitude for the earth elements, so that meant she needed to find someone who could help her with learning to use water element.

Her red eyes scanned the area looking for anyone, who might be able to help her. All she saw was an unknown man, though to be fair pretty much everyone was new to her. Looking at him closely from the sideline she saw the concentrated look on his face, and as per usual, her curiosity got the better of her. She inched closer wondering what he was doing. He looked like he was just meditating with his eyes closed, but then she saw the faint glow of chakra forming around his hand. Her eyes widened, it was her first time seeing whatever he did. Asami of course loved new things, forgetting all about her other resolves she marched straight up to the young man. "What are you doing?" she asked as she dropped down by this stranger. Her mother might have reminded the young girl she should use some manners, but those are things beyond Asami.

Asuka had just managed to form another pseudo-scalpel when his concentration was interrupted by someone speaking directly next to him. Startled, the genin couldn’t keep up the form flickering on his fingertips, and the chakra dissipated. Turning around to face the person interrupting him with a gentle sigh, he plastered a serene smile on his face. “I’m practicing making a chakra scalpel. As a medic, knowing a jutsu that can be used to operate on someone without ever making an open wound will be very useful. Helps reduce the risks of infection, and it’s good for incapacitating opponents in open combat without killing them.” he explained, showing no traces of annoyance outwardly.

He didn’t enjoy being interrupted, but he wasn’t going to turn this girl away, either. Keeping his eyes open this time, he made an attempt again, this time the scalpel looking stronger and less like a pale outline of what he was meant to be doing. It was hardly perfect, yet, but he was improving slowly. He’d get himself back up to par, ic he ever wanted to catch up to his usual mission partners. All he really needed now was plenty of practice. Knowing the scalpel was strong enough to attempt using, he whirled on a nearby tree, lashing out with careful precision. The branch he’d been aiming for didn’t fall, but there was a small score across the bark indicating that his scalpel was more solid now.

He let the chakra in his hand dissipate, knowing this wasn’t quite what he wanted. Not checking to see if the girl was still watching, he reattempted with flowing movements that held more grace and confidence than he was truly feeling in the moment. Once again, the scalpel was not perfect, but stronger looking than before, and perhaps a touch sharper. Looking at the new score he’d made in the bark of the tree, he allowed his smile to become a touch more genuine. Progress was being made here.

Her eyes brightened up and she smiled brightly at the man she tilted her head thinking through his words. "Medic..." she more mumble the word to herself. Asami knew very little of the ninja world, to be honest, she knew the basics of course, but other than that she only had her experience as a traveling merchant with her mother. About to ramble on some questions she saw the man starting to form the jutsu again. For once in her life, she held her tongue if only to watch with fascination on what the other one was attempting to do. Still sitting on the ground she rose up following him like a little duckling, or maybe even a shadow.

When he made the cut in the bark she gasped and clapped. One might think she had seen a lot of awesome things on her travels, but she still lived with a childlike fascination for everything. "That is soo cool! Like is that pure chakra concentrated on the hand? Can you adjust the strength and sharpness? Can it act like a blade? Or is it more like a scale since you are a medic?" She took a deep breath while looking intently at his hand. Her eyes almost sparkled with interest. Some might say Asami was a bit starved of human interaction other than haggling with merchants and talking with her mother. She also used most of her spare time training, reading, and making/tasting new food, friends, and comrades was foreign subject to her.

Taking to the rooftops to trek around the village hidden within the sands, Sunagakure, wandered a lone shinobi currently. One not from this part of the land. As he was taking leaps and bounds from building to building, task in mind. It wasn’t going to be the most…fun perse. But, it should at least be a far cry from boring or otherwise downright drab. And while there were certain hints of moral ambiguity with what Hiroki Shimada was currently set out, that’s how the life of being a shinobi was unfortunately. It was about the black and the white, combining to make the gray.

While he was about to capture one of the shinobi or kunoichi or Suna, they slightly had it coming. Only one person actually came to the defense of the place. From the looks of how things were back at the Clefts, it was the Lord Kazekage too, no less. While there is much to say about the leader when none stand to follow suit and defend, it also speaks on behalf of the now dead man as well. Coming to aide for a village is practically a requirement; had the need ever arisen, Roki would’ve have heeded the call to defend Kumogakure. No matter how strong of an enemy they were up against. Doing anything but that is well. Dishonorable. Now those who would show dishonor would need to answer to it.

Eventually, the Raiju, still atop the many roofs of the settlement, would come across a training grounds of sorts. Activating the Sharingan in his left eye to get a better scope of the place, the enhanced vision that it granted would come to show two people who were currently within. Both seemingly lower in both power and position, but it was still way too early to be determining any calls such as that. One never truly knew the potential of another person, until they saw that potential firsthand. So, basing things on the worst case assumption, he’d keep distance for now. It’s one of the things in which he was best at doing.

Currently 50 meters away, the building in which Roki stood on was 20 meters tall. From where he was positioned, he would essentially be standing between the two who were talking face to face. But also, at the distance from where he was standing, he would be out of both of their lines of sight currently, but they within his. His advantage: element of surprise. One noteworthy thing which made for their advantage: Hiroki could tell that his earth and wood techniques wouldn’t work here. Something about the place just made it impossible to cast them. Most likely a village defense of some kind or another. Meaning there was limited options onto what he could do.

But not to be one to really waste time, a plan would soon come to mind. The Seventh Sage of the Seventh Scale would enter his Raijin’s Rage whilst quietly maneuvering his fingers to make some handseals. Both hands were currently free to do so with his quarterstaff currently tied to his back and ‘holstered’ so to speak, forming one set of seals, and then another right after. A grand total of seven spears comprised of a blackened lightning would be shot forth from his mouth in quick succession from one another. Essentially creating a small wall of sorts which went forth down towards the two nin in the training ground in a cone shape due the black lightning’s increase to the spears width.

Each spear would be positioned so that way there wasn’t a gap between one or another, thus forth producing the aforementioned wall that would go in a cone centered on the two Suna nin. As for it’s dimensions, it would span until it reached it’s max distance of 60 meters, or the spears themselves (not the Black Lightning shock field), would come into contact with something; with a width of 42 meters. The height is where it was currently lacking. Seeing as they were sent out along a horizontal line from one another, it’s height would only actually be 6 meters from the shock field of the black lightning.

And so, fate would have it.

The attack against the two would inevitably land, knocking both of the shinobi unconscious but not outright killing either of them. Calmly, Hiroki would then walk down the side of the building with the targets in question being confirmed to be out cold; without the use of surface walking though since the Pirate Boots he wore did that for him.

Once down on the earth’s surface, while making his way towards the Suna nins, the man who hid his face, would draw the Quarterstaff which was tied around the waist at his back. Placing it upon the ground, chakra being pulled into the casting implement, and after a moment of gathering it there, roots would start to emerge from underneath. Traveling side by side with the lad until they’d reach the intended destination. ”A life…for a life. I’m sorry, little cat. Your story comes to an end here. Izanagi shall carry your spirit from our world, into the next.” And two of the roots would reach out, wrapping their selves around Asami. They would outstretch all around the kunoichi’s body, crushing the central portion of the spinal cord before reaching her neck; inevitably crushing bones first, killing her there, before also causing the larynx and trachea to collapse to ensure the job was done. A swift death

”As for you, young wolf. Your story still continues, for now at least. Who’s to say where it shall lead though? But, for the sake of things. I apologize for what I’m about to do.” Although the words would be left unheard, it wouldn’t make a difference as two other roots would begin to then slither around Asuka. Curling specifically at the base of the spine, the roots would then cause enough blunt force trauma to the sciatic nerve to make his legs go completely numb. After which, the roots would lock around the knee caps; breaking them. Going back up, one around each shoulder blade, enough strength would be used to dislocate each. Thus forth preventing the shinobi from being able to utilize their legs or arms until treated by a medical professional.

Once the deed was done, he’d seal the now corpse of the female into the corpse storage scroll within his possession, then hoist the lad in a fireman’s carry and be on his way to meet back up with the others.
