Calm Nights

The subtle rocking of the large ship kept him up at the long hours of the night. His bed had been empty which was a new feeling for him. Most nights he would be intertwined between men and women alike after hours of hedonistic activities but a smile would be on the faces of all that joined. Now he had to give up that life if not for the moment as they headed to their destination. He stood now in the war room, more specifically the training area of the ship where he had been a couple hours prior training himself. Now he sat silently in the middle of the massive room, legs crossed.

His right eye hummed a light blue as he scanned the area around him with his Byakugan, not trying to pry on the other crew mates but he hated being surprised. That was his shtick. Now that he knew that he was alone he would begin to regulate his breathing until it was as calm as a running river. He had always done this before training or even touching his bow, knowing that a calm mind never missed his mark. Back in the day where he had ran around with Shin this was his daily mantra as he provided support from afar. As he thought about it he had lost one family and gained another. It seemed like a trend at this point but this time… he would hold on to this new family no matter what.

As the boat shook he remained unmoved as he continued to center his breathing. For each movement of the boat his body released another breathe as if he was on a certain cadence with the vessel itself. It was no mistake to say that water was his natural element and even if he had not been physically attached to it he could still feel it’s every movement. At some points he wondered what he could do next as far as his training in the art of Ninjutsu since he has just learned it from one of the crewman, Cid. He had never truly dabbled into the art besides using it in conjunction with his Bowjutsu techniques but there had been something about it that could be used by him. He had remembered that one of the bloodlines that he had obtained from The Ragdoll had been from the legendary Senju clan and they themselves were masters of the art of Ninjutsu. Hell he has already learned the ways of Mokuton, or Wood Release, some time ago causing him to debate on delving deeper into it. So many options laid before his sight and for the first time in a very long time he had been…. Unsure.

No matter his hesitancy on the matter he would find a path and stick to it like he had always done in time’s past. Opening his eyes he would smile and begin to bring his hands together and he continued to meditate in silence determined to find the answers that he so carnally desired. Destiny has always had a weird hold on the Hyuga and in a weird fashion he loved the dance. Whatever that would come from this he would renew his name in the world and soon it would begin.

Moments continued to pass as he meditated in silence, the world around him darkening until only he was alone with his thoughts. He had honestly wondered what he brother would have thought if he could see him now. On an adventure that wasn’t dependent on him, a choice he made. Well that wasn’t a fair assessment since many of their escapades he had full day so in, but this was something different. Something new. An adventure that finally he would chart the course for and maybe in the end of it all he would stand once more with them. It was ironic that he had finally came to make a name for himself when the Hypocrites that threw him out of the settlement said he would amount to nothing. All because he did not act or participate in the ways of the clan. Well they were wrong on all fronts. He had became an assassin of some renown using a fighting style of his own creation. He had traveled to places none of those zealots would ever dare set foot in.. The list had been endless but most importantly he never gave up.

A thought had returned to his mind to go back home and demolish it to the ground, and show those zealots once and for all their mistake. Such a genocidial thought would cleanse the world of a few more closed minded people, but he would not be satisfied with that. Not really. A sigh escaped his lips as he opened his eyes and thought to himself once more.

“What is our endgame?”

The endgame.

What would it truly be for him? Would he settle down after amassing fame and infamy across the land before holing himself up in a den of debauchery and shame? That surely would be ideal for him at least? But there was one thing that would always remain in him. The urge for adventure. It was always strong in him and about the second strongest urge he had within his entire body. Something always came to mind and it was his current situation. The dreadnought and its crew. Two of which he had known from a mission back in the land of fire and honestly he had been impressed by them. One had been a Hyuga and the second one he had been around since Shin. Truthfully he was never fond of other Hyuga except for Shin given their unique circumstance, but Grey had definitely grown on him. They were not the same as those bigots from the Land of Rice and he actually had a good head on his shoulder. Auron was an...enigma to be sure. Cool person and level headed but he still did not know much about the guy, but that was the mystery in making new friends. So far though he was something he could see being long term and even life friends with, same as Grey. Those two often reminded him of both Shin and Enrai though the parallels would definitely be their...dispositions. The other crew member, Cid, was someone that he would need a little more time around but they seemed alright. Even gave off the same charismatic aura as himself which meant he would be a great wingman whenever they went to the bar.
