A Misunderstanding

Mission Details:

Kenshin wasn't sure what to make of the warning from the insane leader, inviting strangers into a group that was supposedly a secret with false promises of freedom and peace to unite people only to turn on those who politely declined the offer hardly seemed like it would promote any further trust in any sane group of people but half of the company had proven themselves to be unstable so perhaps the lady was merely better at hiding her loss of sanity more than the others. Regardless, he knew he would have to fight against the deranged group eventually, in a group battle he could only hope to take as many as he could with him by targeting the weaker members first, although as unlikely as it was, if the criminals had the honour to duel him properly then he'd still end up losing against the one with the red eyes as he currently was, the others he wasn't entirely sure if he would beat them in a one on one battle but the overwhelming power of the devoted lunatic would all but ensure his death at the hands of them.

It was during his time thinking that he'd hear an unfamiliar voice call out to him, demanding him to stop and Kenshin tensed as he turned to face the person who had called for him, spotting three men in the gear of a shinobi, they weren't likely to be part of the insane group but there were methods to hide oneself as another, a method he had recently learnt as well. "What seems to be the problem gentlemen?" Kenshin called out as he watched the trio, his eyes studying their movements as the two spread out from the leader, likely trying to cut any option to escape east or west, leaving Kenshin with the only option to retreat back south. "Someone filed a report citing a rouge shinobi had been in the area, and you're not a civilian, I can tell you that much." The leader's voice was firm and weary, suspicion was evident from the start as the trio made no effort to hide the fact that they were intending to capture him. Had this been any other scenario, Kenshin would've complied and cleared up the misunderstanding with the local shinobi force but as it was, he needed every moment he could get to train and prepare himself for battle.

"You have the wrong person. I am a mere traveler who was never trained formally in the shinobi arts, my talents come from my clan, a tribe of wandering warriors who had learnt how to perform the various jutsu." Kenshin tried to defuse the scenario, revealing some details yet taking a step back in preparation for the worst, an act that caused the trio to step forward to maintain the distance, their own muscles were tensing up and anticipation was in the air. "Then I'm sure you won't mind coming with us to verify that information, someone with as unique facial features as yourself should be easily found in any bingo books, so you won't even have to worry about us finding a similar looking guy... Right?" The leader called back, a grin on his face as he grew more confident, causing Kenshin's mandibles to click in agitation as he backed up once more, either it be the step back or the clicking, something caused the trio to engage, the leader throwing a kunai forward as the other two raced toward him, undoubtedly trying to pincher him by forcing him to dodge toward one of the two racing at him.

What they weren't expecting was for Kenshin to jump up and onto the Kunai while performing the ram hand seal, causing four clones to burst forth right as Kenshin jumped off the kunai, two copies of Kenshin ran forward while the other four ran to the east and west in 45 degree angles apart, forcing the members to pick and chose between 5 viable options as the real Kenshin ran with them. "Damn it, he's getting away!" The leader cried out as he tried to attack the Kenshin to his right, only for his arm to connect against nothing while the one on his left continue dead ahead and away from him, an act that the leader was forced to follow lest that be the real Kenshin. The two shinobi that had tried to pincher him had turned and thrown their own weapons, the shinobi to the right would've struck the one closest to him had it been the real Kenshin but as the shuriken raced through the projection and embedded itself into a tree, he cursed as he raced the other copy that was running to the east, leaving only the final shinobi who had missed his target and was forced to chase after the two copies that would only grow in distance.  

Kenshin ran quickly, not bothering to look back but he could hear someone following after him, rather it was to chase the clone or him he wasn't too sure but as he raced forward, he saw the village ahead and an idea struck him, performing the dog hand seal, Kenshin allowed his body to transform into an old but familiar face. Ren Satori calmly walked into the village and approached a merchant's stand, the shinobi that had been chasing after him arrived shortly after, winded and looking around frantically before leaping to the roof tops as Kenshin subtly watched while pretending to look over the wares of a merchant, the shinobi none the wiser. "Yes, I think I'll take this one." Kenshin spoke calmly as he picked bought himself a strange silver coin, one that the merchant had been proclaiming to be a good luck charm of some sort, however he hadn't been truly listening in as he focused his attention on the shinobi and ensure his plan would succeed. Pleased with himself, Kenshin paid for the coin and begun to exit the village.
