Stormy Seas (private) (flashback) Empty Stormy Seas (private) (flashback)

Sun Jul 01, 2012 4:24 pm
((Cue flashback music and dramatic fade in))

A cool breeze blew off the wayward waters. His hair blew in the wind only slightly, held in place by the metal weaved into it. The tails of his coat flapped as the wind picked up a little. At this moment, the world seemed quiet; peaceful. However, beyond, at the horizon, there was the sight of a fast approaching storm. Just like the world right now he thought. It was true. Right now, there was not much going on in the world. No one was at war, or at a very high risk of going to war. Yet, within sight, there would be a major uproar. Zachariah, as Joseph, planned on attacking, and hopefully killing, the Raikage. He hated the hatred that had spread throughout the world. It was time for a clean slate. If he could divert the worlds attention to something else, and have that something else keep their attention, that would hopefully end the hatred long enough for it to be forgotten. Perhaps a common threat would do it. No matter what did, Zachariah would try to be the catalyst of change.

There was a breeze coming off the cool ocean. It's waters were inviting, yet daunting. Zachariah could see that, just under the surface, rip tides roared. The plants that normally stood tall in the waters just a short way from shore now laid almost flat on the bottom. The fish foolish enough to get near were quickly separated from their schools. He watched as the fish tried to escape the current. Most tried to swim back towards shore, and all who did such failed to accomplish anything. However, the smart few would not swim against it, not with it. They would swim perpendicular to the current. By their determination, they quickly escaped the currents, and often were reunited with their school. It's amazing what nature can tell you about human life. Perhaps that tide is fate. Most who are caught are stuck until thrown out at the end. And yet, there were those who escaped that reality. Perhaps life was just one giant riptide, which you rode from the moment you are born to the moment you die. But then, what is the rest of the ocean? Heaven, perhaps? And if so, why it is only the smart fish who escape the tide? Is it truly better to die as soon as you are born? Is life just a constant fight against a force you have no chance against, and the only smart thing is to die? Or is life a challenge and, upon riding it, you are left in a better place then where you started? Maybe at the end of the riptide is a large area of food untouched by other fish. Or perhaps there  is a large fish with an open mouth. How is someone to know? Zachariah could not stop pondering life right now, as he had just ended one. On his back, there still sat the seal of the dead body. And here he was, waiting for a chance to end another. What has this world come to?

Zachariah decided not to dwell on this any longer. It was a morbid topic that would only lead him into a spiral of depression. Instead, he stood up, taking his feet out of the water. Then he decided against it. He brushed off his pants, getting off the sand. The legs were stilled rolled up. His jacket pay on a rock not too far from him. It still flapped in the wind. His white shirt was all wrinkled, and the upper two buttons were undone. His shoes and socks rested on the ground near the rock his cost rested on. He decided to once again step out onto the water. Not into, but onto. He would practice walking on water. He had never truly tried, but it seemed a useful skill. Right now, on the surface, the water was placid. In less than an hours time, however, it would be choppy, white caps appearing everywhere as the storm twists and churns the waters. He forced chakra into his feet, into shallow water. As he failed the first several times, only his soles, things already wet from his self inflection from earlier, he thought of Justus he had read of. Flying Thunder God. Space-Time Migration. Both were some of the most powerful jutsu for use in a battle, the latter much more than the former. What if Zachariah could create a jutsu that combined them? That would be a boon beyond all imagining. As he pondered on this subject, he did not even notice as he failed to sink into the water. No, he stood on top, even as the first high waves came in, warnings of the severity of the storm to come.

Stormy Seas (private) (flashback) Empty Re: Stormy Seas (private) (flashback)

Tue Jul 03, 2012 11:57 am
Takisho walked, near the sea next to a forest. He was bored, and had felt like doing some training, however his rather lazy side had prevented him from that, maybe he would take a nap first. He would sigh, continuing to walk, soon being attacked by an animal. However the fight between the carnivorous beast and Takisho hadn't lasted long, it was quick before the beast ended up getting trapped in some wood, it's arms and leg's being held by it. Takisho would sigh, deciding he would practice some new techniques on the beast as his training. The preditor would soon meet it's end, as his chakra would surround his hands. This jutsu, was a technique that medical shinobi could use to create cuts of any size in side the body, without creating open wounds, this would help most, as it could help avoid infections more easily with this technique. Of course this technique could be used offensively, which was how Takisho had used it. He had decided to use medical techniques in more combative ways, as an example he would use this technique he was about to use on the predator, which was now the prey of Takisho's. The chakra surrounded right hand of Takisho would go forward in a jab towards the beast's arm. It would cut through the beast's muscles which were in the arm, this would prevent the beast from walking or running correctly, and cause it to limp when it did.

He release the beast from the wooden trap, and would began to move on as the beast went the other way away from Takisho, clearly afraid of him now. It had gotten lucky that Takisho had felt lazy and decided not to do any more damage to the beast. He would sigh, walking farther from the spot he originally was, soon noticing someone on the water, walking on top of the water, though Takisho had knew this, using the chakra stored in the feet to walk upon the water while at the same time balancing the chakra so that the user wouldn't fall in.

Stormy Seas (private) (flashback) Empty Re: Stormy Seas (private) (flashback)

Tue Jul 03, 2012 11:02 pm
The waves picked up. It was most certainly a strong storm. Still, Zachariah stayed standing as his body shifted up and down on the waves. They were not yet crashing waves, no white caps, but that would likely change soon. Even so, Zachariah was oblivious. He was searching into himself on how he might control the very fabric of space and time. He thought of what he knew of the two greatest space time jutsu of all time: Space Time Migration and Flying Thunder God. Flying Thunder God was faster, as the story goes, but it required markers to teleport to, and had no associated universe. However, it did have the ability to teleport massive and powerful things with ease. Space Time Migration was, only marginally, slower, but it had several perks. There was an entire dimension accessible to the user, where they could store things, or even people. It does not require markers to teleport to, and you can track people with it. Zachariah wondered if he could somehow combine them. However, he did not like the idea of never being able to return if someone managed to destroy all his tags. He had to use something commonplace, something that he could always count on showing up at some point. Yet, he figured it had to be something odd, something that was not so incredibly common that he would be overwhelmed. Then he thought. He could already rain down paper lanterns. What if he used those? Yes, it made perfect sense. They would be useful as he could bring them about instantly, and then simply disappear, only to reappear wherever he saw them. Now came the next part; figuring out how the hell to do it. Zachariah would have to actually bend space and time. If he could, he would try to land himself in an alternate universe, one which he controlled. But, how the hell was he supposed to do that? It seemed impossible! Yet, people had figured it out before. People still figured it out. Therefore, there must be some trick to it. Some obvious, or perhaps not so obvious, trick to it.

Zachariah thought of the Body Flicker technique. Perhaps the ideas behind the body flicker could help him preform this jutsu. The body flicker charges a persons body with chakra, allowing it to move incredibly fast. What if a similar technique could be used to change the dimension someone was in? Zachariah decided that he might as well try, but was distracted as the first drop of rain hit his cheek. He opened his eyes, and was shocked to find that he was standing on the water. Have I really been standing on the water this whole time? he thought, unsure of how he had done such. Then, looking up, he saw where he was. The shoreline was almost invisible. He had been dragged out to sea. Looking down, he saw, through the waters clouded by the power of the approaching storm, a spot where a lot of fish swam uncertainly. They were all the wrong type of fish to be out here. " Well great. Somehow I got caught in the damn riptide and didn't even notice it!" He was way out at sea. This did provide an ample opportunity, however, to see where the fish ended up. He looked. He saw. He understood.

It was a bleak and dismal emptiness.

There was no large fish here waiting to eat the foolish smaller ones. Nor was there an abundant food supply, nor one at all really. The fish had been taking from the place they lived, fed, and bred, and were now in a place that had nothing to offer, nothing to do, nowhere to go. Is death just an end? Is there really nothing after it? Why would we live through life just to end up as nothing, our only effect a memory in the mind of others? Perhaps those fish that escape show not those who die early, but those who live longer. Perhaps the riptide is something that causes death; an accident, or a fight. Why does the riptide catch so many people? Why can't all the fish swim out? Why was there death? Why did there have to be death, destruction, chaos, and hatred? Why? And, what if there didn't need to be any of these? What if they were just constructs set by people to control others. What if how we see the world is simply how someone long dead WANTED us to see it? No one is perfect, we say. What if we could be, but we are so convinced that it is impossible, we don't try? What then?

Zachariah sighed. He began walking back to shore, uncertain of what the world truly was, and what his role in it was.

There was someone at the shore. They didn't seem as dismal as Zachariah felt at this moment. They must not have had a philosophical moment with riptides. Not surprising, to say the least. He considered saying hi. However, he was still a fair bit out at sea. It would not truly be worth it. If they person wanted to talk to Zachariah, they could yell out.  However, with the storm as loud as it was as it was almost on top of Zachariah, it would be unlikely he could hear the person. It was also impossible that he could manage to get to cover before the storm hit him full force. The torrential downfalls could be seen just a short distance behind him. The waves were a major problem as he continued to try to balance on the water. He had to get out fast, or he might never get out. It was the. Or never for him to perfect his own unique space time jutsu. On a leap of faith, he let his instincts take over. He heard a poof as smoke was left behind in his place, as if he had used body flicker. He found himself Still in the storm. It came over him, washing away the smoke. Yet, he did not get wet. No, the rain, the waves, everything, it just washed right over him. It was as if this was a world of holograms. And that is when it hit him. Holograms. He had done it. He had created his own universe, his own space time jutsu. He looked towards the shore where the boy had been. No one stood there. Had they disappeared too? But, Zachariah couldn't see any animals, either. Perhaps this world did not show holograms of animals. That could actually make sense. Zachariah went towards the land. It took him awhile to figure out he was actually standing on a platform he had to control. However, once he did such, it was not long before he was zooming towards land as fast as he could go, without using any energy at all. A short ways into the forest, he found a small outpost with a few paper lanterns. As he approached, he noticed something different about the area; he could see animals. And he figured it out. He could see anything if it was close enough to a paper lantern. Soon, he managed to bring himself back into the true world. That was an interesting time for him, and he learned two much needed jutsu.
