Mission
Name: Patrol
Rank: D
Type: Scouting
Character Requirements: None
Word Count Requirements: 300

Reward: 450 ryo
Task: Scout around the village to make sure the area is secure. If anyone who doesn't seem to be an ally is seen, report it to higher ranking shinobi.
In order to begin his path on becoming a Jounin, Navi needed to begin his first set of missions. It would be much easier this time, he needed to perform only two D-rank missions for his first set. They would be quick, easy, and relatively painful. Navi told himself that everyone had to do simple missions like patrolling every once in awhile. Besides, it would be over soon, he just needed to be sure the area was safe and clear. Navi walked the path silently, the breeze slowly passing through his body and crimsion hair. The leaves on the tall trees were extremely thick, only very small streams of dim light shone through to the ground. Otherwise the forest was fairly dark, giving only just enough light to see a small distance around you. Navi liked it that way, if he couldn't see far, the enemy couldn't either. Besides, Navi felt confident he could use the darkness better then an enemy could. Navi began to contemplate his career as a Chuunin. It wouldn't be long before they bumped him up again to Jounin. When that happened he would learn an S-rank technique, truly unlocking his fire-style potential. Soon after that, he was confident that the leaf hierarchy would promote him to a member of the Anbu Black Ops. By that time Navi wouldn't need to worry about any more patrol missions. He probably wouldn't have to worry about anything under A-rank. Every ounce of his potential would be tested, and he couldn't wait.
Navi decided to head back now, he had walked the entire path of the leaf village twice now and he hadn't spotted anything. His mission was definitely complete now and he still had a second D-rank mission to work on. Navi left the forest and headed back for the center of the village to accept his next mission.

Mission Name: Thief in the village.
Rank: D
Type: Capture
Character Requirements: None
Word Count Requirements: 300 words
Repeatable? Yes
Reward: 400 ryo.
Task: Multiple villagers have reported their belongings stolen. Multiple villagers had reported being a target of a thief, mostly at the same time. Your job is to find the thief, or thieves and capture them.
Another thief capturing mission for Navi, this brought him back a bit to when he did it as a Genin. This was the only other D-rank mission he had to perform so he would be happy to get it done quickly. Navi sat on the same roof as he had before to catch thieves. He used this vantage point in the village to get a birds eye view of everything. It was almost hypnotizing just watching the village life in Konoha unfold. Fortunately Navi would have no trouble at all catching a thief anymore. Not like as a Genin it was much trouble, but now he almost didn't even need to pay attention. All Navi really had to do was spot the thief, and the rest would come so naturally he could even be half-asleep. Navi was on auto-pilot, and had dedicated so little focus to this mission that he was already thinking about his next ones. He was considering taking Sachiko out on a few himself, that way she could get some experience on her path to Chuunin, and Navi would be able to knock off the middle ground missions on the way to Jounin. Navi sat high above on a tall rooftop overlook vantage point, looking down at the bustiling town of Konoha. It seems that as long as he captured the thief, no matter what the mission would be over. To make sure Navi didn't overdo it, he borrowed a length of rope instead of the normal steel wire. To ensure he didn't kill the man, he would need to make sure he didn't use any of his actual ninja techniques. Against a regular civilian, any of his jutsu or techniques had the potential to be very dangerous. Navi spotted the thief running around, holding a package of some sort as he ran away from some poor vitim. In a flash Navi appeared next to the thief and bound his hands together with incredible speed. Navi even grabbed the painting and safely held it in one hand to return to the owner. The D-rank missions were over with, all he had to do was turn this thief over, accept the rewards and move on.

Task:Reports that a group of bandits surrounding the village have come in, the bandits harass passing citizens, robbing and most of the time killing. The bandits are said to be powerful, in strength and jutsu wise. The bandits are to be taken out, not a single survivor.
This mission was the most important task that Navi would have ever untaken. This was an S-rank mission the most important mission he has every under taken. The only thing above an S-rank mission was an SS-rank mission, and Navi couldn't even begin to imagine the difficulty of those. Navi prepared his body and equipment for this new test of skill. Missions like this were usually reserved for the Anbu Black Ops, but in this case he would have a chance to prove himself. Navi strapped his leaf shinobi uniform with weapons and tools, preparing for battle and the intense mission that was about to come. Navi began by sliding in his regular kunai knives, they were sharpened and gleaming from light. Next came his Ninja Wire, he had eight meters of it coiled around in his pocket. Next he strapped his two sheathed swords to his back. First came his Heaven's Sorrow Ninjato, an enchanted sword made popular by Echo Uchiha, the captain of the Konoha Anbu Black Ops. When wielding it, the sword with give Navi a slight speed boost. Next Navi strapped his other sword to his back, so the sheaths were crossed over eachother. This sword was a regular Katana, made extra sharp and powerful due to the handcrafted nature of a blacksmith Navi had known. Lastly came Navi's special weapon, the hellfire kunai. Navi had eight of these, having them lined in his kunai pouches. This special weapon would allow Navi to use his chakra infusion to embue his weapon with fire chakra. With this fire chakra he could extend his blade, dissipate ninjutsu blasts and throw the kunai to catch other things on fire. With all of the preparation out of the way Navi headed out, prepared to begin his difficult mission. He read the details of his mission carefully, being extra attentive to each detail. A group of bandits were surrounding the village, robbing, harassing and killing citizens. These bandits weren't your average scum either, they were said to be very powerful ninjutsu wise. Navi would have to be extra careful, he was not only outnumbered, he could very well be outmatched by some powerful rogue ninja. Then Navi read the last line of the mission details. The bandits were to be slaughtered and taken out without a single survivor. All of the enemies were expected to be killed and not a single one would be allowed to escape. This added detail meant that Navi wouldn't need to hold back, but it added another layer of difficulty to his mission. Under these circumstances he couldn't allow a fast enemy to escape, the possibility of him calling in reinforcements was every present. Navi would not only have to be fast and powerful, he would need to be completely lethal and not make a single mistake. An error in a mission like this could mean instant death, and bandits like these would not show any mercy. Navi bounded to a rooftop on the outskirts of the village. The first stage to a situation like this was careful recon. From the top of the rooftop Navi looked out over the trees and could see as far as the horizon and beyond. Along the far outskirts of the village were small tents, the mission details were indeed true. A gang of strong bandits had surrounded the village. By the layout of the tents they had put enough space between each tent to literally surround most of the village. The camp was more of a ring perimeter of tents. The bandit gang was trying to keep the leaf village in, so citizens would be robbed, killed and terrorized. Each tent seemed to be a faded blue color and about size enough to house two bandits. If Navi had to assume how many bandits there were he would say anywhere between twenty and twenty five. This meant that twenty to twenty five rogue ninja were terrorizing the village and it was up to Navi to stop it. Completing a mission like this was no joke, it would truly be a test of Navi's skill. Navi began planning out his step to eradicate the bandit gang. The first step would be to kill each member of the gang that was in the village, in this way he would force the remaining members to regroup at camp. When all of them were forced back to regroup Navi would be able to make sure none of them escaped. He would be able to fight and eliminate them more easily when they were forced together. From that position he might be able to stealthily pick them off. The only issue would be if some of them ran and some of them tried to fight. In that position Navi would be forced to deal with the ones retreating first, then dealing with the ones who were staying. Again, not a single survivor from the entire bandit camp could be spared. Navi began by peering over the edge of the rooftop, listening intently. The first step of his mission had begun, he needed to kill all of the bandits that were inside the leaf village. His key to locate them would be to listen for the screams of the Konoha citizens or perhaps if he just saw a rogue ninja stealing or fighting someone who would have to step in. Either way, Navi began by keeping his ears wide open, paying careful attention to the slightest hint of noise that might occur. The sun was just rising in the morning, for all Navi knew the bandits didn't start roaming and terrorizing the streets of Konoha until the evening or afternoon. Whatever the case was Navi, stayed on the rooftop and patiently waited for any sign of trouble so he would be ready to spring into action. It took a long time, like a calm before the storm before the first sign of any trouble. Navi heard it before he saw it, a scream from a middle-aged Konoha woman came from a road a few buildings over. Navi hurried into action watching as a bandit rogue ninja target of his held up the woman by her neck. She screamed for help to the empty street. It seemed as if the other Konoha civilians had abandoned her, not powerful enough to stand up against the bandits. Behind the bandit that was holding the woman was another bandit, his arms crossed with a scimitar on his back. Navi needed to kill both of these bandits, and hopefully save the woman as well. To proceed, he would need to kill the one holding the girl's neck first, then kill his friend. Navi appeared quickly behind the first bandit, stabbing him through the back with his katana. A splurt of blood erupted from his neck as his grip loosened and he let go of the woman. Then he fell onto his knees and the woman ran off. One bandit down, one to go. Navi tore his blade from the dead bandit and attempted to slash the second, but the other bandit was already ready for it. He drew his scimitar and clashed with Navi in a loud clang of steel. They held there clash for a few moments, the steel of each blade vibrating against eachother. While holding the ninjato in his right hand, Navi focused his chakra with his left. After a series of handsigns with one hand he breathed out a large flamethrower of his Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu. The bandit was shocked to see a shinobi that could perform justsu with a single hand. As the bandit was in the middle of a clash, he couldn't dodge with fear of being sliced through by letting up on the clash. Because of this immobility Navi incinerated the bandit in a powerful flame. The woman he had just saved thanked him gratefully, but Navi had no time to respond. As soon as he finished killing the two bandits he heard an explosion of some sort from the next street over. He nodded quickly at the woman and jumped up, over the line of buildings in front of him and into the next street over. Inside a house there was a large crash and a giant boulder flew through the window, which Navi dived out of the way to dodge. The door flew open and out stepped a rogue ninja, a rucksack over his back presumeably from the goods he just stole. Navi assumed that the man was an earth style ninja, most likely because of the boulder he had just thrown out the window. When the bandit saw Navi he dropped his rucksack and cracked his knuckles. “A leaf shinobi huh, this is going to be fun”. Navi put his hand behind his back and drew one of his special hellfire Kunai. The man performed a few handsigns and performed a jutsu. “Earth Style Shuriken!” he cried. Navi rushed forward with his fire infused chakra blade. As the earth rised around in front of him and small rock shuriken flew at him. Navi cut through them with his hellfire kunai, immediately breaking apart the jutsu with his blade. Not stopping with his momentum, he plunged his hellfire kunai into the bandit shinobi's chest, then twisted the blade to deal as much damage as possible. The man coughed up a small amount of blood for a second, and then immediately fell to his knees. Navi tore his kunai from the man's chest and placed it back in his kunai holster, turning his back on the slain foe. By Navi's count there wouldn't be many more bandits running around from the inside of the leaf village. He had killed only three so far, but many of them would most likely be stuck surrounding the leaf village back at the bandit camp. Navi guessed that the layout of the camp would most likely reinforce a schedule based on patrols. Allowing one or two squads of rogue ninja bandit shonobi to be inside the village, while the rest make sure that noone else attempts to leave the village. Effectively keeping the hidden leaf surrounded, while still under a constant threat. Navi focused still on first step of his mission, eliminating the threats still left inside the hidden leaf. Navi climbed back on top of the original rooftop and waited, cleaning off his bloody weapons as he rested. The first step would be to kill each member of the gang that was in the village, in this way he would force the remaining members to regroup at camp. When all of them were forced back to regroup Navi would be able to make sure none of them escaped. He would be able to fight and eliminate them more easily when they were forced together. Fortunately Navi had killed three of them already. Before even noticing trouble Navi saw another group of five bandits begin to enter the village, Navi assumed that this team was back-up for the first squad or set of three rogue ninja. Navi tied a length of ninja wire around his kunai and leapt down behind the five man team. With too much speed for them to react and without making a single sound Navi threw his kunai slightly to the right of the entire five man team. With a strong tug on the kunai, Navi performed is Manipulated Shuriken technique which allowed him to completely bind his opponents with the length of the wire. He pulled tightly on the length of the wire, completely lassoing and binding the entire group of five. As he manipulated the trajectory of his Kunai with one hand, Navi performed a fire style dragon fire jutsu on the wire. The wire conducted his flames and lit the trapped bandits on fire, incinerating them almost immediately. After a few moments all that was left of the five bandits was a large pile of ash, effectively killing and eliminating them. Navi coiled his steel wire back into his hand and put it back away in his pouch. By cutting off and destroying an entire squad of the bandits so quickly he had effectively moved to the second step of his mission. To wipe out the bandit camp that was surrounding the village hidden in the leaves and leave no survivors. Navi re-checked his equipment and decided to leave the village and head for the bandit camp. This next stage would require an absolute and complete stealthy approach to avoid any of the bandits getting cold feet and escaping. Leaving no survivors was a top priority in this mission. This meant that twenty to twenty five rogue ninja were terrorizing the village and it was up to Navi to stop it. Completing a mission like this was no joke, it would truly be a test of Navi's skill. Navi began planning out his step to eradicate the bandit gang. As he approached the camp or perimeter of bandit dwellings Navi went into a stealth mode. He jumped up into a thick cluster of trees, hiding and proceeding carefully. Navi contemplated the possibilities and moves he could take. He could light the forest on fire, but that might endanger the caravan. Besides, fire would create chaos, not necessarily kill many of his enemies. He could create a crow clone to strike and then detonate his distraction, but that would use an immense amount of chakra. Plus, that technique wasn't very precise, it was a method that would definitely stand out. There was also a very strong possibility that it would damage the caravan. The manipulated shuriken technnique would only work on one enemy, and he would me mostly vulnerable during that time, so he ruled that out. The best method would be body-flickering from target to target as quickly as possible, immediately executing each foe. Some of the bandits were having conversations with eachother though, so this method would have to be performed by at least two of him. Navi performed a handsign and a small flock of crows flew down to merge into a clone of him. Both him and his solid clone drew their ninjato and performed a body-flicker technique appearing behind the nearest pair of bandits and instantly killing both of them. Slicing both necks open and their bodies toppled on top of eachother. The pair of them nodded and moved to the next set of bandits. A group of three were talking together, weapons already in hand. Navi and his clone dashed in, Navi stabbing one in the heart, and his clone slicing another one in half. The third bandit had a moment to react, swinging wildly with some mace weapon of his. Navi flowed slowly like the wind to dodge each swing and aimed a powerful slice for the man's neck. His sword cut though him like butter, his head lopped right off and tumbled to the ground, rolling a few times. After their mop up operation most of the enemies were gone. The area around the village now was seemingly clear. The bandit camp itself was entirely undamaged, minus being very untidy because of the several bodies littered throughout the place. Navi performed the crow clone stealth double-strike process quickly and effectively. His mission was nearing completion and killing each bandit came as quickly and easily to him as walking down a street. This was an S-rank mission the most important mission he has every under taken. The only thing above an S-rank mission was an SS-rank mission, and Navi couldn't even begin to imagine the difficulty of those. Missions like this were usually reserved for the Anbu Black Ops, but in this case he would have a chance to prove himself. This mission was the most important step Navi had ever taken in his career, the completion of this mission was the and would fulfill the most difficult requirement of being a Jounin. On top of that it was one of the most important and half of the requirements of becoming one of the best Shinobi in Konoha. Being able to call yourself a member of the best of the best. A special unit of shinobi called the Anbu Black Ops which would be a job Navi could only dream of having. It would be almost as high as Navi could go and one of the best positions he could ever aspire to. A member of the Black Ops was handpicked by the Hokage himself and was battle proven to be one of the finest ninja alive. Performing this S-rank mission would be the first step of two that he needed. In order to become a member of the Anbu you must not only be handpicked by the Hokage, but must also have completed two S-rank missions successfully. That is why completing this mission was of such importance to Navi. Either way, completing it was a bold first step towards promotion that he could not afford to pass up. Word was the hokage was looking for a new recruit for the Anbu Black Ops, which was Navi's dream job. This mission was the first step though, when Navi walked through the village gates, he had determination in his eyes and his heart set on one goal. The completion of this mission. Navi concentrated on the last clearing full of bandits. Both him and his solid clone drew their ninjato and performed a body-flicker technique appearing behind the nearest pair of bandits and instantly killing both of them. Although it seemed dull, Navi was performing the exact same movements as on the last camp, it was a proficient way of exterminating the bandits the first time, so Navi felt confident that it would work again. His clone would kill the rest of the bandits the same way as last time, and he would make sure that there were no survivors. The area around the village now was seemingly clear. The bandit camp itself was entirely undamaged, minus the several bodies littered throughout the place. Navi performed the crow clone stealth team execution process quickly and effectively. As Navi wiped the blood from his blade and dissipated his clone, he realized that his first S-rank mission was complete. He returned to the village and sheathed his sword, happy to complete his mission and happy to have done his part to protect Konoha from the bandit gang. With the element of surprise beating the bandits was very easy and reminded him of how he defeated other opponents in the past on his other missions. Navi re-checked his equipment one more time like he did in the beginning of the mission, just to make sure he was returning to the village with everything he left with. Navi had all of his weapons and equipment that he started with, most of them slightly bloodier then he remembered them being. Navi reached the village gates and re-entered the village, his face beaming with self-satisfactory at his job well-done and the completion of his first S-rank mission.

Navi looked out over the trees and could see as far as the horizon and beyond. Navi performed a handsign and a small flock of crows flew down to merge into a clone of him. Both him and his solid clone drew their ninjato and performed a body-flicker technique appearing behind the nearest pair of bandits and instantly killing both of them. Although it seemed dull, Navi was performing the exact same movements as on the last camp, it was a proficient way of exterminating the bandits the first time, so Navi felt confident that it would work again. His clone would kill the rest of the bandits the same way as last time, and he would make sure that there were no survivors. Navi had all of his weapons and equipment that he started with, most of them slightly bloodier then he remembered them being. Navi reached the village gates and re-entered the village, his face beaming with self-satisfactory at his job well-done and the completion of his first S-rank mission.

Mission Name:What Happened?!
Rank:S-Rank
Type: Intel/Assassination.
Character Requirements:
Word Count Requirements:3000
Repeatable? Yes
Reward:4000
Task:
Reports have it that valuable info was stolen from the Kage's office, it is your job to get it back!
The information must be retrieved at all cost, speculation is that this is a group of missing ninja threatening to overthrow the elemental nations, retrieve the information and end this group if possible, show them the true power of your village!
Navi had read over the mission details carefully, taking in every aspect. This mission was especially important for his career as a ninja. It was under S-rank priority, but more importantly, it was necessary to undertake in order to impress the Hokage. Navi would have no room for failure and needed complete and total success for this to work. The scroll's mission details stated that some valuable information had been stolen for the Hokage's office. The information was apparently important enough to warrant an S-rank mission be launched, despite the mission details not going into specifics on what that information might be. There was a section that stated speculation on the files and information being stolen by rogue or missing ninja. This strange group of missing ninja was apparently threatening to overthrow the elemental nations. The mission was to retrieve the information and assassinate the group if possible. On an ending note Navi saw that it says “Show them the true power of your village!” which Navi guessed was a line the Hokage had thrown in out of anger. Navi exited the mission distribution area and decided to depart on his mission. The first thing he needed to do was ready himself for the mission at hand. He read the details of his mission again carefully, being extra attentive to each detail. Navi first departed to a nearby camp that the missing-nin had been reported to be located. The ninja were most like not powerful, but more stealthy and masters of the art of evasion and capture. Navi could also guess that there was a three man cell of them, standard for missions like this. The group of ninja would either be in a camp much farther away, or already on the road. There would be no reason at all for them to hang around the village when they were already in possesssion of such sensitive information. It was possible that they were already outside of the land of fire. Navi would need to hurry in order to catch up with them. Navi started down the long path of the leaf village, moving quickly with tiny bursts of chakra, but still being sure not to use up very much chakra before he would reach his targets. The road out of the leaf village was lined with trees, and Navi was now becoming very familiar with leaving the village to go out on an extremely dangerous mission. The path was straight and narrow, allowing Navi the quickest way out of the village to intercept his enemies. Navi had time to contemplate a strategy as he ran forward down the path. At the same time Navi was thinking of his career and how it would change if he completed this mission. Would Lord Hokage be impressed if he was able to complete this mission. If he succeeded would he be able to become a member of the Anbu Black Ops? Navi wasn't sure just yet, although he wanted to assume that the leaf hierarchy would be impressed enough to make him a member of the Black Ops. After all, Navi would have proven his efficiency by completing two S-rank missions successfully, which was definitely no small feat. To be safe, Navi had read up on the Anbu Black Ops training guide from the Konoha library. The book was incredible, teaching how through raw power anyone can be deadly and about stealth tricks and mission tactics. Reading about it made Navi want to all the more join the Anbu Black Ops. Navi also had been told that if he were to succeed he may be put into a special squad of Black Ops. It would also include Echo Uchiha, a legendary ninja who had become famous throughout the leaf village. Navi's ninjato was actually created as a model of that exact sword. Whenever he wielded it Navi would feel a burst of speed go through his arms and legs. It was a powerful tool indeed. On another note Navi would need to finish his training with the Soul Amethyst. Especially if he was stepping into the line of duty where death was a constant reality. As Navi grew in prestige around the leaf village he learned about many of the villagers, more importantly Navi became a respected member of the leaf village as he grew in rank. A Chuunin was a respected ninja, but for all intents and purposes it meant a basic foot soldier. Someone who was talented enough to not need a babysitter or sensei to watch his back unless it was a truly serious mission. With such respect as an experienced member and shinobi of the leaf village, it meant that he was important to some extent. Navi therefore knew important secrets about the leaf village, it wasn't anything major, but it was beyond Genin level knowledge. In particular Navi knew about important equipment that was beyond the scope of an average shinobi. He had the ability and prestige to know about a lot of powerful weapons and tools because he had proven he had the responsibility to know about such things. In this case it wasn't a weapon the piqued Navi's interest. Something like a tool, an enchanted item that was much more interesting had caught his eye. The tool was called a soul Amethyst. An incredible trinket that could keep someone who was dead alive. Unbelieveably it had the ability to keep a fallen warrior alive, even when they should most certainly be dead. If their heart stopped, or they died of bleeding or a fatal wound, they could be brought back to life with this trinket. The only unstoppable possibility would be if the victims body was entirely destroy, through evaporation, total incineration, or got their head cut clean off. Otherwise, this was the key to survival, the soul amethyst. The soul amethyst was a powerful tool indeed, and Navi would be smart to choose to utilize it. Navi had requested and received the stone from the leaf hierarchy after Mr. Uchigawa, a respected mentor in his life. Navi contemplated the secrets of the incredible tool as he drew closer. Suddenly he stopped. A discarded folder with a leaf village stamp on it lay on the ground. On the other side of the folder it said classified, the folder was either left behind or had blown away. Whatever the case may be, it was a sloppy clue that Navi had the chance to follow. Navi was now hot on the trail of the three missing ninja, and was probably halfway there to actually catching them. He would need to keep his eyes open for any more clues he came across in order to catch the culprits. Navi also decided that the stealthy approach would be the best. If any of the bandits saw him they might destroy the intel or hold it hostage. Retrieval of that intel was incredibly important. Even more important was the fact that there were three of him and only one of Navi. This would be a difficult for Navi, even if the shinobi he was fighting were weaker. The only advantage Navi had was the element of surprise. The more Navi thought about it, the more he realized even that advantage would probably fade. The missing ninja who were smart enough to steal the documents would surely be smart enough to know that someone was tracking them. Navi might even need to stay on the lookout for traps if any of those rogue ninja attempted to slow him down. Navi narrowed his eyes as he moved forward, he would also need to sharpen his tracking skills and look for any signs or clues of their movement. The squad of missing ninja could also double back and fool Navi, or even ambush him when he was unprepared. This would take away Navi's element of surprise from which came Navi's only real advantage. The other problem is if they were faster then we was and they crossed over the border to the land of fire before he could reach them. This would take much longer but would still be extremely dangerous if they were faster then he was or caught hold of his scent. From now on Navi resolved to be extra careful, any number of things could happen between now and him seeing them. Traps could be set, wires could be strewn about the path to cut him off, connected to kunai launchers or gas traps. The enemies could double back and throw him off the trail, then they could cross the border before Navi could relocate where they might have gone. The hostiles might also set up an ambush from any tree or any patch of undergrowth, forcing Navi to immediately switch from the offensive to the defensive. Any of these possibilities worried Navi immensely, especially since he didn't have any backup to rely on for support. No wonder this was an S-rank mission, this was definitely up there with slaughtering all the bandits, and it made the A-rank mission he had performed a while back look like child's play. Impressing the Hokage would not come easily, whether on the sparring field or while out doing intense missions. Navi would make sure to make this mission extra impressive. Retrieving the intel would be an incredible feat within itself, but to truly impress the leaf village Navi would complete the optional objective. The complete and total annihilation of the thieves and their gang of forces. This would not be easy, because even if Navi was far stronger then all three of the opposing ninja squad, their speed could work to their advantage. One of them might run away if Navi were to win which would make his job that much harder. Just then Navi thought of another strategy the enemy might employ. Navi realized that two of the enemy ninja could ambush him, while another runs ahead to protect the package. Thereby insuring that Navi wouldn't be able to catch up. Furthermore, this strategy could be modified to have just one enemy ninja stay behind, effectively turning it into a delay tactic to stop Navi from advancing. All of the options his opponents had were staggering, while all Navi could do is continue to give any chase without backup. By now Navi realized he was moving at full speed, desperately attempting to catch up with the enemy ninja while his mind raced from possible tactics. For just a moment, a strange long obstruction glittered in Navi's path. Navi immediately recognized what it was and jumped way over it, clearing the trip wire that was laid to slow him down. The fact that they had laid a trip wire meant a few different things that Navi could deduce. First it meant that they realized they were being followed, or were simply doing it for insurance purposes. Either way, Navi would have to assume that the enemy now knew he was hot on their trail. Next it meant that the enemy would be slowing down to set traps, which was a risky gambit considering that they were sacrificing valuable getting away time to hopefully contribute to slowing Navi down. This lastly meant that the enemy was probably close. If they knew he was hot on their trail, they might panic and try to set traps to stop him from advancing. Most of this worked in Navi's favor minus his one real advantage that he hoped he would have, the ability to strike unnoticed to maintain the element of surprise. It wouldn't be long now, Navi was well outside the leaf village but still a good distance way from the leaf village border. The fact that they stopped to set traps meant that they weren't only on the mindset to just run, they were also trying to slow him down. This also meant an ambush was probably on their minds, and Navi had to remain ready for that. Just in case, Navi drew a hellfire kunai of his and began to concentrate some of his fire chakra within it. A special knife like this would serve to keep ambushers at bay in an instant since he had his weapon ready, and possibly stop any incoming projectiles or traps that were being set with the dense chakra's ability to cut through techniques and other objects. Something glimmered out of the corner of Navi's eyes and he came to a halt, suddenly stopping his rapid advance. It was fortunate he did, because a kunai narrowly grazed his forehead protector. Navi hadn't triggered a trap, which meant that the enemy was most likely launching an ambush. In a flash an enemy ninja appeared behind him, most likely with a body flicker technique. Navi rolled forward just as the enemy ninja stabbed the air with a knife he had in his hand. A third ninja appeared a few meters further away and targeted him with a wind blast jutsu, which Navi cut in half with his hellfire kunai with a powerful slash of the dense chakra. The wind jutsu immediately dissipated and evaporated into the air. Navi counted all three ninja, the one who fired the wind jutsu had a pack on, which was most likely the container for the sensitive intelligence that Navi was sent to retrieve. First Navi would have to worry about defeating the other two ninja. The one who originally appeared behind him lunged forward with his knife, which Navi sidestepped easily. Navi then held out his kunai to clothesline the man's neck, extending the blade with fire chakra so it would be harder to dodge. Sure enough, the man was unable to stop his lunch, causing his head to be lopped off and a smolthering ash and burning stump of a neck was left to support his lifeless body. Navi turned his attention to the man in the undergrowth, who through two more kunai at him, which Navi hit out of the air with his hellfire kunai chakra. The man didn't charge him and instead drew several more kunai. Before he threw them Navi decided to act, throwing his hellfire kunai at the man, while still infused with fire chakra. The man narrowly dodged, taking a tiny cut on his shoulder. Still, the fire chakra from his knife caught his clothes on fire from even touching it. The man dropped the knives he was about to throw and fell to the ground, covered in flames. Navi walked forward and pulled his knife from a rock that it had landed and impaled itself in. He then walked over and stabbed the man who was writhing on the ground. The final ninja seemed like he would have prepared a wind blast but realized it was useless against Navi's hellfire chakra. He dropped the pack and pointed to it, telling Navi he could have the files and everything else. Navi body-flickered in front of the man with cold eyes and showed no mercy. He cut his throat open and blood spilled from the opened slit. All three of the bandits had been slain and the package had been retrieved. Navi made sure the intelligence files were in the pack before putting it on and heading back to the leaf village. He knew better then to see what those intelligence files were, as curious as he was. All he could see was that the files were packed together with a binding strip or string of some sort. On the top of the outer holding file was a leaf village insignia with a stamp then said classified across the front of it. Navi discarded the other garbage in the pack that the rogue ninja had. Inside was a few cans of beans, bottles of water and some loosely packed and poorly made shuriken. Navi threw all of this to the side and emptied the rest of the backpack until only the important intelligence files remained. He had slung the package onto his shoulder and began heading back, make absolutely sure that the three of the rogue ninja were dead and he had retrieved the real files. Navi started his trip walking back to the leaf village, all he had left to do was to make sure that the files got back to the leaf village in one piece. It would be no trouble for him and he would arrive at the leaf village gates very soon. When he finally did reach the village he headed straight for the administrative building to drop off the important information files and finish up his task. Navi's mission had been completed.
