Tsukune and Gyoza~ [Open] Empty Tsukune and Gyoza~ [Open]

Sat Aug 18, 2012 12:29 pm
A bell above Hinoko's head jingled quietly as she entered a bustling, modest restaurant on the corner. She heard good things about this place, but had never actually been there, other than walking by on her way to the herbal store a few blocks away from there. She has saved up a good bit of money for this occasion. Hopefully, Hina would be able to relax, drink some shochu, and taste the local cuisine. Her nose twitched slightly as she moved further inside, taking in the tantalizing smell of barbequed chicken and beef. Before her mouth watered she moved to a table off to the side.

The noise wasn't too bad, but it could have been a little quieter. Nonetheless, it was better with people talking, laughing, and having a good time. No sooner did Jurei seat herself, a waiter sauntered over from the other side of the large, brightly lit room. He seemed a little impatient, but her mind was already made up anyhow. She shifted farther into her seat, and leaned back as the waiter pulled out a pad of paper and a pencil. "Tsukune please, medium rare..." She took a swift look at a menu on the table, picking out a side dish. "And a small bottle of shochu, if you would please." The man taking her order looked relatively surprised at her quick order, but didn't say anything else but offer her a side dish. "Set of Gyoza..." she smiled charmingly, and tilted her head as the waiter trotted off with her order to the kitchen in the back...

After a moment or two of looking around the place, she distinguished two key features. The traditional architecture and design of the interior, and light, bubbly atmosphere of the restaurant. Compared to various other friends, she didn't really prefer modern architecture. The old traditional was her favorite for some reason. It might remind her of her parents, or because of the way it looked... either way, it calmed her down profoundly, and she felt very at ease here. Perhaps, if luck allowed, she would perhaps meet someone here. A drinking buddy was always nice, especially if they would be willing to pay for it.

Coincidentally, she had seated herself next to a window, which in turn, happened to entertain her profusely. People walked by the restaurant, looked into the other empty windows, and did various other things that fascinated her. As she had her attention out the window, a small child ran by with a blue balloon, and a pair of adults, presumed as its parents. She smiled a little bit as the child tripped and lost the grip on its balloon. Hinoko sighed and shook her head, little kids seemed to be clumsy more often than not. Not to say she didn't feel bad for the kid, but it may teach it to walk, rather than run, when holding something important to them.

The arrival of her food was a little late, but she didn't really notice the time difference, because of the entertainment going on outside the window. In addition, there were a lot of other people to take orders from, deliver food too, and to clean up after. Regardless of the food being five or so minutes late, it was warm, almost hot in temperature. Her mouth watered as it was set down by the waiter. And damn did it smell good too. The waiter informed her that the shochu was on its way, considering she asked for hot shochu it needed to be warmed up... Regardless, she couldn't have cared less about the delay. Hinoko plucked a set of chop sticks from a container on her table, took the wrapping off and snapped the set in half vertically. This meal was going to be rather enjoyable after all...
