Flash’s alarm woke him up at 7:30 a.m., he woke up feeling sluggish and weak as usual. His asthma really took a took a toll on his level of energy and awareness. Due to the constant inflammation of his lungs, Flash struggled to get the oxygen he needed to perform daily functions. In Flash’s specific case, his asthma was so severe that he barely got the oxygen he needed to live. Due to the lack of oxygen in his bloodstream, Flash’s heart was not pumping like it should have been, making him severely weak, sluggish, and overall unhealthy.
Flash carefully extricated himself from his bed, careful not to hurt himself, as he knew one wrong move could severely injure his fragile body. He maneuvered his weight onto his weak legs, carefully supporting the little mass that was there. Flash half walked, half stumbled into his kitchen with his normal clumsy gait. He got there to find his mother making some toast and eggs and his father at the table sipping coffee. Upon seeing him, his mother frowned while his father just chuckled. Flash assumed he must look pretty foolish right now, his frail and skinny figure, still in his pajamas, stumbling into the kitchen like he was intoxicated. Flash took a seat at the table and his mother came over with a nice, steaming plate of scrambled eggs and toast, complete with a glass of orange juice. Flash quickly ate his breakfast and downed his juice. He knew that he had to eat much healthier than most other kids his age, due to his health issues. He believed that if he ate enough protein and balanced his diet, that he could be up and running like a normal kid in no time.
Flash was pulling out his chair and just about to get up from the table when his father called out to him, “Hey buddy, you know what today is right?” Flash turned to face him, he did not know.
“Oh, well let me tell you then,” Flash’s father replied to his inquisitive look “Today is a very big day, we’re going to the hospital for some treatment that we hope is gonna fix you up.”
Flash was excited by this news. “Wait, like, completely?” he inquired “Am I gonna be able to run around and play like all of the other kids?”
“Well,” his father replied “you’re probably not going to be running 10 kilometers for awhile, but this will certainly make progress.” Flash’s dad chuckled as he said this, no wonder he was in such a good mood today, his son might finally be cleared of his health problems that he has had since he was born.
Exhilarated by this news, Flash made his way upstairs at an amazing speed, despite his clumsy gait. He hopped in the shower and turned the water on as hot as it could go, cleansing his whole body. When he stepped out, he put on his usual grey, blue, and white track suit with the red Uzumaki symbol on the back. He threw on some Nike mid-calves and his Free-Runs and made his way back downstairs.
It didn’t take long for Flash and his parents to get to the hospital; they were there in about 5 minutes due to their proximity to the city. Upon arrival, Flash was immediately whisked off to a private room for treatment. Flash was immediately hooked up with all sorts of wiring and a breathing mask. Hooked up to all sorts of complicated machinery, Flash became a bit nervous, he had been to the hospital many times since infantry, but never had he undergone a procedure like this. The medical ninja left the room and made their way behind a glass wall at the very end of the room. They seemed to be performing some sort of technique inside and all of a sudden some sort of strange smoke began coming through the tubes into Flash’s breathing mask. With this, Flash was filled with a feeling that he had never experienced before in his entire life. His lungs felt like they were being opened up and oxygen was finally being allowed to enter his body. With a pulsating pain in his head that lasted a mere second, Flash was filled with a sort of awareness and sense of awakening that he had not felt in his entire life. His vision was became less dim and dull and he could see things vividly and in color. No longer was there a lag between what he wanted his body to do and what it actually did, all of his movements were perfectly synchronized. Flash started moving his limbs around, still breathing through the mask. He felt energy and power that he had never before possessed, it was like he was a whole different person. After a few minutes, the medical ninja came back into the room and removed the mask from Flash, while the feeling was not as strong as it was before, Flash felt much more invigorated and powerful than he had before he had come to the hospital. He asked the doctors if his asthma had been completely cured, but they replied that this was just one session of many treatments to follow in which Flash’s lungs would be opened up more and more. Flash was also instructed to go out and purchase some sort of inhaler mask that would help to maintain an open passage in his airways so that he would have more energy and freer movements.
After this little info seminar, Flash and his family made there way home, thrilled with the prospect that Flash may soon be completely cured of his ailments. When they arrived at home, the first thing Flash wanted to do was go outside and play with the kids that he had never been able to interact with because of his health issues. He joined them in a game of freeze tag, never before had he felt so in touch with his friends and his childhood.
As time went on, the prospect of Flash becoming a great shinobi was becoming realer and realer.
