Kei walked down the streets of Suna, to the gates. He had a patrol for his first mission as a genin, which seemed easy enough. All he had to do was walk the perimeter of the village, and report anything unusual. It sounded easy enough. He walked through the gates, walking the perimeter. He was royally screwed if someone actually attacked, since he didn’t even have a weapon, but that didn’t bother him too much. He had something particular in mind for his first weapon. Or rather, his first puppet. That had been his original ambition as an Academy student, to be a puppeteer, although the idea seemed a little redundant considering their clan used Nin-Cats. That was why he’d designed Neko. He planned on offering the design to any other potential puppeteers in his clan, to use as the base for a wide array of other puppets. He’d even kept in the tradition of using cats. Neko was based on a panther, after all. He just needed a little more money for materials, and his dream would be a reality. He’d had a lot of time in his captivity to ponder designs for just such puppets, and he had quite a few plans for them. He realized he’d been daydreaming for most of this patrol, and shook his head quickly. He needed to stay focused. He did his rounds, circling the village, keeping alert for any signs of danger.
There didn’t seem to be anything out of order, so Kei headed back to collect his money, and be assigned his next mission of the day. At this rate, he should have what he needed to build Neko by sundown today. He was so exited, he couldn’t wait to see the results of a lifetime of daydreaming in a cramped room.
