Dead (IO, P, NK, Sora)

Hanako's soft brown locks shifted slightly in the breeze, brushing her cheeks gently. For a moment, the genin looked away. She shook her head slightly as he re-staed his compliment, and took a deep breath when he comfirmed he wanted an answer. She huffed it out, turning her eyes to look into his. Now, the emerald orbs were not so blank. Instead, they were filled with a previously well-hidden rage that was now beginning to bubble up inside her. "July 28th was the day I lost my sight. How did I loose it? A raging, violent drunk threw a half-empty beer bottle into my face," she spoke with barely hidden anger and pain, yet her voice was still barely above a whisper, her eyes narrowed only a bit and face set into calmness. She brought her free hand up from her side, fingers brushing over the skin just above her cheekbone. "I don't know if you notice them or not, but I can feel each and every place the glass hit me. Wanna see?" She scoffed after that, though the gesture was void of any humor. "You know, enhanced senses are not always a good thing. Especially the sense of touch..." She swallowed, glancing to the sky for a moment and then 'looking' down at her cone. Hanako took the last lick of the icy dessert, though the sweet treat had lost a bit of it's appeal...

Not much of it though. She ate her cone as she waited for a reply, silently wondering what exactly he would say to her confession.

Sora rose an eyebrow at the way he shook her head. Did she dislike her eyes that much? He lightly frowned and ignored the previous topic, not focusing on what she was about to day. However, he noticed the rage that were in her eyes, it was faint but was still there. This was something new for the boy since he had never seen her in a state like this. He listened intently on the words Hanako spoke, taking in every single detail. 'So,' he thought with a deeper frown, 'Some random drunk? Hm.. I'll ask her who it was another time.' Sora took the time to deeply sigh and cross his arms. "I see.." he mumbled. Not wanting to dwell on the depressing topic anymore, the genin sent a smile at the girl. He wasn't sure if she would be able to see it, but it was worth a shot in his opinion.

"Well, let's not bother with the past anymore! I'm sure there will be a way to regain your sight... I'm positive!" he stated confidently. He took a few steps forward until he was in front of Hanako's face again. The boy then slowly wrapped his arms around her in a small friendly hug. He would try to make this last a few seconds before backing up. "Like I said, I'm positive." he repeated.

Hanako might not have seen his smile, but she felt it as he spoke. Though quiet, Sora-kun was still positive. He seemed like he didn't dwell on things, and his words seemed sincere. She smiled back, expecting him to start another topic. What happened next was a huge surprise to the genin. He... hugged her. The girl tensed for a moment, all her recent memories of physical contact being rather... unpleasant. However, she was soon returning the hug. The few seconds were up a bit too quickly for her liking, and as he pulled away, she realized she wouldn't have minded just a little longer. She felt safer there for some reason, the feeling completely foreign to the girl after nearly two years without it. He heard him speak again, giving a half-hearted smile in return. The medics had tried everything to repair her sight, yet nothing worked. Hoping would only bring her down, but she decided to keep that to herself. "Thanks, Sora-kun..." Hanako said softly, sincerely.

Hana realized that the air was even colder than usual, meaning the sun must be setting. Not only would Daiki have her tail for being home too late after dark, but Sora probably had someone waiting on him. "Na, it's getting a bit late... You probably have to head home, huh?" she said slowly, not really wanting to leave but knowing it would be best.

Sora lightly yawned and shoved both hands into his pockets. His droopy eyes shifted to where the sun is.. or rather was located. It had gone down while they were speaking, so Hanako was right about the day coming to a close. "Yea I guess so.. bu-" he cut himself off as his eyes went wide in realization. He quickly put both his hands onto his head and yanked at this hair. "God damn! I forgot, my Mom is going to kill me for just leaving like that!" he exclaimed. His eyes became wider and white, something that usually happens when he's angry or terrified.. Sweat began to run down the sides of his face as he started to pace around in a large circle. "What am I gonna do.. what am I gonna do?" he mumbled frantically. He could just... sleep in another place? Yea, he could totally do that! That problem was he just had to find out where he could sleep.

Sora was positive Hanako wouldn't let him in her house. So that just left one option... "I guess  I'm sleeping on the roof tonight." he commented out loud. The boy stopped moving and quickly turned to face his teammate, giving a lazy salute. "Yea, I better head out now! See you later!" he replied. And with that, the genin walked off to his house, prepared to not feel so well in the morning...

Hanako giggled softly at his distress, not really knowing how it felt to have a parent worried for her wellbeing. She nodded along with what he said, a smile gracing her lips as he left. She thought about going home, but the thought of being in the same house as her mother sickened the girl. Then there was also Daiki... If she went hom-to her house tonight, there was a chance she would be killed while she slept. So, instead of going to the house, she turned and wandered back to the tree beside the road where she had sat with Sora-kun.

Little did she know, she would not be seeing her father for a good, long while...
