Let's go down the hole! [P, NK]

With the water dripping from him, Naoki would take the first couple steps in the newly opened cave. Before them was a large chamber, the far side of it could not be seen, although probably because of the lack of light. Naoki would tell a couple of his orbs to go light that way. It was not too high where they stood, just enough to straighten up, but later it expanded, not the floor going higher, but the chasm going deeper. It was kind of strange this area was not flooded, based on the layout. Maybe it will get flooded in a few days, who knows - they said the cave was newly formed, it quite possibly could have been still in transformation. Whatever was the truth, this chamber was worth looking around. The Jounin would release ten new orbs to light the area. It wasn't endless, but it spanned a good couple hundred cubic meters, except the chasm which could go god knows how deep. Naoki would turn at Sanada gesturing at the cave. "Eh?" He would then gesture to look around and go inspect the chasm himself.

As Sanada stepped in behind Naoki, he was surprised by how warm he was after stepping out of the water. Maybe this was due to warmth not really escaping this section, or because the water was slightly warm anyway. He didn't really question it too much as he fully took in his surroundings with the help of Naoki's...he actually didn't what they were but they looked like fireflys except they produced much more light. As Sanada walked his way around Naoki to get a better look he was speechless on the depths they were in. He found it hard to believe that they were more than likely the first few people to see something like this.

It was always a pleasure to behold nature in all of it's splendor and it captured his attention so much he almost didn't pay attention to Naoki. "How long do you think this has been here or has been forming" he would ask not really turning to face the man as he was still minding his steps to ensure safety stay at 100%. He was soaking wet and he tried wringing out his clothes as much as possible before reaching in his vest pocket pulling out a plastic bag. Inside of it was 2 cigarettes and a lighter still dry from the dive due to being sealed."Perfect, no harm no foul" reaching in a pulling out both smokes he would light his first and take a drag before offering Naoki the other. he didn't know if the man smoked but it would be rude not to offer. If he would accept he would pass him the extra smoke and lighter and if he didn't he would wrap them back into the plastic placing it back in his wet pocket.

The cavern glistened from the moisture that had semi evaporated and formed along the stalagmites that were hanging from the ceiling as well as the chasm got deeper. With Naoki's lights hovering about it gave the cave a ominous but still warm feeling to it as the colors bounced around. "I wonder how deep this hole is over here" he would say picking up a rock and tossing it down haphazardly, tilting his head to wait for a hitting sound that never came. "Huh I guess pretty deep, Do you think there are other places like this, Maybe uncovered riches" He would ask jokingly walking back over to Naoki nudging him in a friendly manner with his elbow "Maybe even a hot mermaid woman hahahaha". Sanada was actually enjoying himself and he couldn't believe it, he usually enjoyed being by himself lazily letting the day pass but this was almost as fun, of course he couldn't say that he was having fun actually being out and about. It would go against his lazy man code.

As the Jounin stood by the abyss, he would hear his companion's question. "No idea. It would take an expert in these things, but I would say it was probably growing for some time, but the entrance appeared only recently." He would linger a bit longer by the cliff, sending two of the orbs down a hundred meters, then without reaching the bottom returning them up. As the seals were getting close, Naoki would raise his right hand, allowing for the two to land in his palm reporting their adventure and fears to him before returning inside his body, their light fading into his hand. Turning to face Sanada the Jounin would be a bit shocked, although it was too late to try anything. The Chuunin was lighting a smoke. Lucky for them, nothing happened when he did, although the risk he took, probably without realizing it, was fairly big. The cave was unexplored, they had no idea what kind of gasses could be floating around. Anything that could start a fire was dangerous in these conditions as an explosion could easily destabilize the cavern, burying them alive.

As the man walked up to him by the pit, the Uchiha would reject the offer. Actually he went a bit farther than that, given that the Chuunin just risked blowing them both up. "You know, you should stop smoking... that thing will kill you." Of course he did not expect it to be this easy, so he would have no reaction when given a reply indicating Sanada would take his chances. They would then both stare for a minute into the chasm, as his companion sent a rock down. It must have been quite deep, given that they never heard the echo of the rock landing or even hitting anything on its way. He would shrug in response to the comment about riches, as if saying 'maybe, maybe'. Sanada seemed quite happy, he would even joke. Maybe he just needed some fresh air like the Jounin, or maybe he was simply happy he survived that dive, maybe both. Whatever it was, it was fun and interesting to see this side of the guy, so Naoki would join him in his laugh. "Maybe. The world is quite big and there could be almost anything out there, or down here" 

This was an amazing experience for Sanada, and he hoped it would continue to be exciting as they looked around further. Naoki's ability was amazing to him he didn't understand how it worked but it was cool to watch the fireflies float and enter back into his body. As if he was some kind of host to the things that were floating around.

Naoki made a comment about smoking and that he should stop, he must have known he would get an answer back somewhere along the lines of what Sanada was about to say "Meh, I figure everyday I breath air, I'm dying, I'll take my chances with cigarettes" he would say shrugging while taking another hit from his cigarette before expelling it into the air away from Naoki. "Say I was thinking after I lit this, wouldn't it have been hilarious if something would have exploded, could you imagine the story we would have hahahaha"

Sanada would walk a little bit further in with his hand on the cavern walls feeling the textures and moisture and letting his fingers explore the crevices they ran across. While he was walking he started thinking about maybe getting to know Naoki a little more, he lived by himself in a little shack on the beach. Having spent this little time with the Jounin it would be nice to have a friend to bond with at leisure. "Hey, Naoki, what do you say we get together tomorrow or when ever we have free time for a game of Shogi, I haven't played in forever" he would say still observing his surroundings waiting on an answer.

The answer was what Naoki expected. Of course a smoker would not be so easily persuaded, it was only normal and the man knew it, having met quite a few smokers in the clubs. They usually take either some real work from their close ones, or some mental pressure to drop smoking. Letting that thought fly, the Jounin walked to a wall of the cavern. It was wet, but not like moisture wet. No, it had water flowing on it, only a bit of water, but it was like maybe an underground river. Or maybe the cave was slowly being flooded and in a year or two this whole chamber would be underwater. So far whatever little water was flowing in would find its way into the chasm, which seemed endless, so there was no immediate danger. Naoki would really have loved to look around more, but it seemed that they were kind of stuck on one of the edges of the pit, the others being too far away to make it by jump and he did not have the right equipment to make a bridge nor anything else with such short rope. On the second glance, the walls of the cave while wet, were probably not too slippery and they could make it with the use of wall climbing technique. Surely Sanda knew it, if he knew Water walking. The thought was shut down for a moment when the Chuunin suggested a game of shogi. Yes, well, he haven't played shogi in a while too, but he would definitely like it. And that's what he would tell him. "Yes, why not. I could find the time, tomorrow then."

This cave was wonderful and if Sanada didn't worry about it flooding and being taken by the water that surrounded it he would come here again on his own. It was the perfect fortress of solitude, and the only other person that would know about it was Naoki. When the higher up agreed that tomorrow they would play a game of Shogi it increased the chuunins delight. It was as if he had made a friend without actually having to say anything, they were both not men of many words and prefered to show things through action which was ok with Sananda.

As he looked around they had gone through most of the cave besides the gigantic chasm that was there. They didn't have much else to explore with getting around that, surely the Jounin had thought about walking on the wall to reach another destination before Sanada did, but he decided to ask anyway. "Hey, I think we could walk on these walls here if you want to go further" he would say questioningly, they were wet, sure, but nothing a ninja couldn't handle.

You know, Naoki would almost go out and say that he had the very same idea. But he was a guy who would not say such a thing and would keep quiet about it. With nothing more than a single nod the man would walk up a wall using the tree climbing technique and start going toward the nearest other edge. While at it, he would also order for the most distant sunflies to start returning. He knew the limit of the seals and there was no need to lose any of them in a cave exploration.

As Naoki began walking over the chasm, Sanada would begin to follow in the same manner only 2 meters behind him. He made sure to focus his chakra correctly, he didn't want to end up plummeting to his death. The air was a little strange over the chasm and it had a funky smell to it which caused Sanada to wonder for a moment before deciding to give his thoughts voice. "Hey Naoki....do you smell that" is what would come from his mouth, but that wasn't the only thing. The cigarette he had that was on his lips also fell out due to them being semi upside down which Sanada completely forgot about.

"Ugh...I hate littering" he would say scratching his head as he watched the rose on the cigarette disappear from view. Well atleast it had fallen into that deep dark hole hat was more than likely filling up with water so no harm no foul. "Hey....Naoki.....is it getting warmer in here or is that just me" he would ask confused looking around before looking down at the chasm again

"....Oh....shit....."

The man would notice a strange smell but a few moments before the Chuunin asked him. He would recognize it and realize the danger it meant. Unfortunately it would be too late, as when the Uchiha turned to warn his companion, the cigarette would already have left the Chuunin's lips, falling down into the abyss. A voiceless curse would leave the Jounin's mouth as his eyes followed the small red dot going down. He would stay frozen, ignoring Sanada's comments as he was looking at a whole hell being ignited below them. By the time his companion noticed it too, the blaze was already roaring hot they could feel it. Naoki would activate the sharingan and see the air trembling at the fires, he saw a shockwave coming. "Run!" And with that he would turn and jump back at the entrance from which they came here. Hopefully the Chuunin would not be much behind, by the time Naoki took a dive into the water, he could feel the shaking. The cave was destabilizing and could collapse at any moment.

He would not stop for the breather at the air pocket the visited when they got here. There was no time, so he headed right for the cave exit. The sunflies would not be far behind, although some of them would follow Sanada's chakra to light his way and some would stay on purpose, phasing through the falling rock. The time was flying both fast and slow to the point of standing still, or at least so would seem to the Uchiha. But before long he would see the faint glow of the outside and then it would be but a few more pulls and he would breach the surface, claiming his share of air. Only then would he look down to see if Sanada made it.

Apparently Naoki had managed to figure out what was wrong a few moments before Sanada, all Sanada heard was run and Naoki blurred by him back into the water they had come from. "Ah crap...shit...I'm not that fast dude.." is what he would say even though he was just talking to himself as he made his way over to the water. Sanada allowed himself one more glance as the fire erupted out of the chasm shaking the entire cave to its core before jumping in the water.

He was no good with directions and trying to backtrack fully by himself would have spelled the end of his journey. Luckily Naoki's fireflies were there to guide him and light the path. He had only taken a semi breath of air before plunging without thinking. There was no way he would be able to stop at the pocket they had reached earlier. He would have to push on and get out of the cave in one go, pushing himself and holding as much air in as he could. The air was leaving his lungs fast and the light was so far off but still he kept going, he could have sworn he kept blacking out yet his body kept swimming. When he awoke he was gasping for air laying on the ground coughing up more water. "Lets...do it...again" He would say slightly laughing and looking at Naoki.
