Getting Rid of the Rust [open]
Sun Mar 16, 2014 1:27 am
Once one of the more powerful and talented shinobi in the world, a Raikage like no other before him, Kurisu had taken quite sabbatical o clear his head and gain more control over himself. Now came the biggest test, could he handle being around other people again without tearing them to pieces. Not long ago he had went through his village that his daughter did an impressive job improving, noticing the larger population made him come out to the mountains to relax before testing the limits of his control over the possessive power of Nike.
He planned ahead, leaving a note outside of his office requesting that an someone go investigate some suspicious drunk hanging around the mountains just outside the village. He didn't expect anyone strong to show up, but perhaps he'd get lucky and get a true test in order to shake off the rust of not fighting for a exceptional amount of time.
Wearing a full body cloak, with his Raikage hat covered up he waited against a large rock on the top of a mountain he had trained on before he became Raikage. The surface of the large mountaintop was flat with a few large rocks protruding out of the ground, with a diameter of 40 meters from cliff edge to cliff edge all the way around with a long path leading back down to the village and another path directly across leading to another mountaintop, and so on for three more mountaintops totaling up as five mountaintops connected to the village. Each mountain higher the previous, the second and third mountaintops experiencing faster winds and gusts while the final two mountaintops experience not only the wind but ice and snow covering the ground making it very dangerous to traverse across.

Today was much like any other day in the mountains for Yaju as he woke up inside of the cave that he slept in with so much as a small smile on his face. With no other time to waste he would quickly get dressed and head out of the cave he was currently in. Wearing his grey haori, black pants and black shirt, he would slowly walk out of the cave and stretch as he patted the sword on his side and looked around. While today was a new day he would simply begin it by going to the Kage's office as he usually does to check in with Misaki to let her know about the reports of yesterday as well as getting either a new mission or maybe something interesting to do.
As he finally made it there he would stop to speak to the receptionist for a moment before heading up," Hey there...is Misaki in?," the receptionist would flash him a quick smile before looking down and shrugging slightly. This was either a no or a maybe which in that case he would walk up the stairs and look inside for a moment before seeing no one in there," Huh...shes not here..well guess i will back," a crunch would be heard below his feet as he looked down and picked up a piece of paper. Reading it slowly he would sigh and sit the letter in his back pouch before walking out. Apparently some drunk was in the mountains and no doubt causing some sort of trouble for the people if there was a note here.
Yaju would take this time to quickly get to the mountains although since the note wasn't specific on where this man was he would be forced to use his Byakugan to track him down. After a couple of minutes of looking around, he would be able to sense a single chakra source in the mountains. Deactivating his Byakugan he would make his way to the mountain top where he would walk all the way up before stopping on the path where the suspicious man should have been. Within the next five minutes however he would have made it up the mountains and saw this "man" standing on the mountain top with him.
There the man was leaning on a rock and his outward appearance left a lot to be desired. From the looks he had been wearing a hat of unknown description and a cloak which covered his body, but he could not see his face. Resting his hands in his pocket he would stare at the man for a moment," I do not know if you are aware, but i have received orders to bring you down from the mountains. I ask that you please come down with me without a fight," trying it the civil way first he would wait for the man to respond and if he didn't comply well...force was always the next best thing.

It didn’t take very long for him to sense the chakra presence of someone approaching the area, yet he made no movement remaining exactly how he was as the person arrived. He waited for the man to finish speaking before finally moving, shifting his weight off the rock so that he was standing straight up and down looking at the man about 5 feet away. “Reallllllllly now?” he asked, mockingly.
Pulling his cloak hood down along with the Raikage Hat, keeping the hat hidden behind his head inside the cloak hood, his spiky black hair would be visible lightly moving from the small breeze of wind. His face still bearing a faint scar line across his face but gained a faint grey beard, and his eyes staring at the man with a jet black hue instead the icy blue tint he used to have before his eye swap with Viper, these new eyes seem to fit what he was hiding deep inside the confines of the darkness of his soul, Nike. He wanted to intimidate the man, or at least let him know how serious this confrontation was probably going to be.
Testing his control, he tapped into a deep part of his mind where he had locked away Nike’s essence during his time away, letting a very small amount of the Victory God’s influence into his mind in order to enhance himself for battle although he wasn’t going to tap into the true power yet. “I’m not going anywhere without a real fight.” He started off his response answering the man’s words, making it clear a fight was needed. “If you give me a good test, I might let you live, boy.” He added the last part to anger the man some.
Under his cloak his right hand laid on the hilt of one of his katanas sheathed at both sides of his hips, while his left hand rested against the rock he was leaning on, shifting his weight against he was leaning once again. “You first.” He spoke, while his right hand finally gripped the hilt preparing to unleash the blade from its confines.

A slight growl of annoyance would slip from Yaju as he looked at the man who was either mocking him or being a smart ass when he had asked him to come with him. A soft breeze began to carry the crimson hair on his head a bit as he continued to look at the man's somewhat hidden appearance as a quick thought came to his mind: Why was he hiding his appearance?
The words Yaju had been waiting for had been uttered as he smiled and moved the Haori from his arms and allowed it to flow freely on his shoulders," Well then i was hoping you would say something along those lines, been a while since someone has actually made a challenge out of this," hearing the last statement would make Yaju smirk before glaring at the man with his yellow eyes," You wish, maybe if you can keep up with my movements i might let you live," the challenge was set and Yaju would be ready.
Slowly his right hand would reach for his blade and slowly draw it as he watched the man reach for his, this fight was going to be either one long sword fight or probably turn into someone worse if it continued but there was the fun. Holding his sword up to his right side with the blade pointed at the unknown man before taking a deep breath and running at him at the speed of 100. Although this wasn't the fastest he could go, he wanted to make sure he was given a proper challenge instead of killing him swiftly. Yaju would run at the man until he had placed himself at the right side of him and aimed to strike at his right hand to see if he would stop his blade from striking. Although they were already this close, he would make sure to watch himself so he wouldn't be caught off guard.

Quite the interesting character, someone who wanted to have this fight yet believed that their speed was going to be a huge advantage; however, this was to be expected as his village was famous for their lightning jutsu and in turn for many their speed. This person was going to get the surprise of a lifetime and the challenge they seemed to be yearning for as well, this would come down to more than just speed or raw power, no it would take clever tactics and skill to win this struggle as the environment further up the path was harsh and unforgiving.
A small stream chakra flowed into his eyes, activating his Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, the violently designed bloody crimson mixed with jet black pupils locking onto the man to keep track of the movements. The man was at least capable of some high level speed, moving decently, although it wasn’t going to be nearly enough to catch him a simple sword, at least he assumed it to be a simple sword. Perhaps this was a test attack and there was another attack planned as a follow up after the sword strike, so block, dodge or counter? Letting his eyes help determine the pattern movements, there wasn’t enough space between them for him have time to think for very long, his right hand ripping the katana out of its sheath and right in front of the blade of the other man.
His katana would only hit against the opposing blade for a moment, to stop its movement but if forced continues then he would hold the sword tight, as he raised his left hand crackling with a small amount of black lightning, firing a bolt of the black lightning right at the man’s chest, offset to the left of the man’s heart just in case it were to hit he didn’t actually want to kill him, just yet. Immediately after launching the black lightning bolt, he’d dart backwards to the path leading to the next mountaintop, if the man avoids or survives the black lightning bolt attack, then they’ll be ready to move to the next stage. His cloak was still on, hiding the appearance underneath it, but he'd show the man his special armor once they got further up.

Surprised that the man had reacted fast enough to block his blade, Yaju smiled for a moment as he stood his ground and kept the blades at a stalemate until either the man made a move or it was time to go on the offensive again with either being the latter he would be ready for the results. While the two were stuck in a stalemate, the slitted pupils that had once held dominance in the eyes of Yaju would fade only slightly as the Byakugan soon took over and unknown to him that the man he was fighting also had a doujutsu of his own.
With a smile he would continue to push until sensing the chakra of the man building up he would in turn raise his own left hand in forming a single two finger seal that would aid in his escape if the man were to continue his attack. It would be at the moment that the unknown man unleashed his black lightning that a blue after-image of Yaju would appear in front of him and slowly disappear as the black lightning missed," what the....that wasn't what i think it was," in his mind it would be something that even he could not fathom, but his suspicions would be put aside as he focused on his fight.
As the body of Yaju would land backwards ten meters he would smile as he looked at the man," Clever trick you have there.... Tell me who taught you how to use that lightning," taking his stance again as red lightning began to form around his body and soon across his blade as he smiled, the right seal on his hand taking form with a red glow. Whoever this was had some unique skills in his arsenal then again he wasn't showing all of his own tricks either. With both of them at an equal distance away, Yaju would once again charge in although unlike last time he would come from the left and quickly switch his position to where his body would perform a sliding dash. This action would place his sword once swung at the base of his left side near his ribs. If all went according to plan he would rip right through his cloak and hopefully cause an injury to the man.

He took note of the nice move the person did to escape from the black lightning attack, and it humored him at the reaction to the attack. “What lightning?” he asked mockingly, slipping his hands into the gauntlets of his armor that were attached near the katana sheaths. With his almost all of his armor on, minus his helmet, he figured taking the cloak off here soon would make fighting a little easier although at the same time that would remove any element of surprise he could use it for. The good thing was the sleeves of the cloak covered his now armored hands.
“Hey if-. “ Before he could finish his statement, his opponent was on the move again, this time coming off the opposite side as last time. ‘That lightning is interesting.’ He was curious about it, but tossed caution to the wind, after all he still had his Raiton no Yoroi. With the man getting within range, he took a calculated risk, his body erupted with lightning and his hair spiking up his lightning armor covering his body and his powerful armor. “Let’s see whose lightning strikes better.” He said as his armored left hand grabbed the blade by the cutting edge, using his enhanced strength to stop the blade’s movement.
“I was going to show you something else, but this is good enough for now.” He said, pulling his left hand back, attempting to pull the man towards him with that action, while his body shifted backwards slightly, lifting up his right foot, preparing to slam it into the chest of the man. If successful in pulling the man with his sword the kick would be nearly impossible to avoid and if it takes place the man would probably be gasping for air and laying down back on the lower mountaintop. If unsuccessful, he’d be prepared to counter or dodge any possible attack.

So it was armor he was hiding under neath the cloak and as he threw it off to reveal the full armor he would sigh knowing that his original plan was now off by a mile, but that would not deter him from going in and striking the man in the same area. Hearing the man's words about seeing who's lightning would strike harder, a smile would be placed upon his face," Yeah let's see who's is superior," the lightning attacks that this man had begun to pull out continued to raise Yaju's suspicions on who he was enough to the point of distracting him long enough for the man to grab his blade.
As the man stopped the balde and grabbed it which had successfully stopped Yaju's movements, he would look at the man with a smile," Your moves and armor are impressive, you are starting to make me think you are no random stranger and now filling my head with the questions of your true identity," at this point however he would use his own strength in combination with the blades sharp edge to cut the blade free from his grasp without damaging his hand in the slightest, this was done simply by sliding the edge of the blade along the padding of his greaves without cutting into them.
With a swift movement he would jump backwards before looking at the man with a grin," So tell me...what is your name stranger?," waiting for a response from the man he would begin to activate his own armor which would appear over his body slowly at firs before fully forming and covering his body in the same way his opponents was without a helmet.
Yaju now stood ten meters from the man wearing his grey armor which from the back had four wings sitting from his back each being two meters in length. Pointing his sword at the man he would smile," I am Yaju Hayate, Anbu of Kumo and left hand of Misaki....let's make this fun," smiling he would wait for the man to introduce himself and if he didn't he would prepare himself for another attack. The sword in Yaju's hand would begin to pulse with chakra before turning to red lightning under the seals influence. With one swing of the sword the lightning would shoot from the blade in the form of a slash of lightning traveling at the speed of 100 at the man, although this wasn't the primary attack he would wait to see what the man would do.

He had no intentions of replying anymore to the man’s questions and words, that was until the man mention who he was and the fact he was an ANBU; however, the important aspect was the fact this person was his daughter’s left hand, which implied that the man was more skilled than he originally considered. ‘I definitely need to resist killing him, so we’ll see if he can hang.’ He thought to himself, keeping his demons chained up, while Nike’s influence was the only issue it wouldn’t be a problem yet. “You don’t really need to know who I am, but you’ll find out soon enough if you can survive, boy.” He boldly stated to the young man.
Quick movements, it was rather impressive which now made more sense to Kurisu as he watch his opponent launch a slash made of lightning from the blade towards him. This wasn’t hard to deal with, his pupils helping with the speed that the lightning was traveling at, along with his Raiton no Yoroi being active and ready to react in a split second. He jumped high into the air, angling himself so that he was propelled backwards further onto the second mountaintop, specifically closer to the next pathway to the third mountaintop that would provide severely strong gusting winds, while this mountaintop was no joke on its own, winds going north at 30 miles per hour with gusts of 45.
Assuming that his dodge had worked and the man followed up the path, he’d be getting a rather unwelcoming greeting as he locked his eyes onto the front of the path, preparing to use one of the forbidden techniques that these powerful eyes could do. He had no intention of killing the man with his, but merely to see if he could figure out that he was fighting the Raikage. Perhaps rumors of his gain doujutsu spread well during his reign as Raikage, this would be a test using the black flames as a barrier in front of the path, but being well timed to appear in front of the man as he arrives, if he does indeed travel up the path, if not then Kurisu would change plans to account for that. If no serious danger presents itself, the lightning crackling off the surface of his skin would leave his body and start recharging, his hair no longer quite as spiky and blowing around in the wind more.

The man had been faster than he had first anticipated and seeing him dodge the attack would have confirmed that he was either faster than Yaju or perhaps maybe even stronger than him. Using the Byakugan to track the man's movements he would discern him going to another position or more specifically going to the next mountain over which had been him changing the battle field for them so to speak. Taking into the air he would head towards the path that lead to the second mountain top with haste before landing on the path and running upwards towards the location of the man's current position.
Yaju would not know of the flames that had begun to bind his path until he was merely a meter from them and had no intentions of stopping. Smiling his left hand would perform a single seal before a shield appeared over his body which would shield him from the flames as he jumped through them and slid to a stop. From the man's point of view his entire body would be engulfed in the flames until the shield dropped and the flames fell from his body show he was unharmed," You...there is only one man...no one person in this village that could ever do something like this," he had finally pieced it together after seeing the man's lightning based attacks and thinking back to the times he had fought Misaki. He would smile for a moment before sheathing his blade and taking a new stance, this time his hand would be simply resting on the hilt of the blade.
With a simple breath he would channel his chakra into his arm to speed up his drawing speed which would be further used as he quickly unsheathed and re sheathed his blade. Although it seemed like a waste of movement, even the Raikage would be able to see the swift movements he had made as a blade of wind two meters in total length began to fly towards him at the speed of 85, but this was just a simple distraction as he used this momentum to move himself forward temporarily with the use of the body flicker technique. With the following actions he would be place to left of the Raikage just outside of the reach of his attacks or so he assumed, which he would attempt to use the battojutsu technique to get the upper hand just this once. Not seeing the lightning forming around him, he would assume that his technique was up.
Yaju would not know of the flames that had begun to bind his path until he was merely a meter from them and had no intentions of stopping.
