The mission was simple, she thought to herself as she ran through her standard ritual. Her finger tips seemed to dance across the items one by one as she checked them off of her mental list. All she had to do was take a few supplies to bring to Yuki village. The big issue was that she had to steal, and most likely kill in order to do it. She detested the thought, preferring to just go with out instead of having to harm another but it was Maku and she knew that they needed these things or else he wouldn't have suggested the mission.
She traveled the roads towards her destination quickly, coming up on the encampment where the couriers were stopped for the night. She knew she had to plan this out just right if she wanted to get what she needed without actually hurting any one and the more she studied the situation the less comfortable she was about her odds. It wasn't like the seven people sitting around a camp fire would be a tough fight, she thought, but more that she had issues with being able to silently take care of them all. thankfully for her not only were they not paying attention to their surroundings but one of the large barrels of what seemed to be wine they were transporting had been opened and tapped and they drank deeply of the borrowed wares. It annoyed her that they were drinking wine they didn't own, and it bothered her even more that they were consuming valuable resources that Yuki village could use to help survive the conditions of their area. She formulated the plan quickly. Judging by their positions it would be difficult to take them out one by one. that means her best options were to strike fast and not worry about stealth. Sadly that also meant blood would have to be shed.
She called out to her shadow mastery, and as she did the large black circle appeared beneath her. Places sporadically around the ten meter long circle were various mouthes and eyes made of the shadow which held sharp curved features and an evil look. One of the men turned to look behind them. She ducked down, waiting a moment before popping her head back up to see if the coast was clear and as she did the man noticed her. His eyes grew wide with surprise as he saw the small girl standing and staring at her, one hand raised to point her direction. He called out to the others, of course, and in seconds they were all turned and looking at her with eyes filled with vicious intent. her shadow struck out quickly. Two tendrils crossed the distance in a blur, moving at a staggering two hudnred and thirty speed unbuffed, and before he could turn to run he was skewered once in the belly and once in the center of his chest, between his shoulders. He gave a weak gargled scream which was silenced as his life was extinguished in moments, and before the tendrils released him he fell slumped down to allow the tendrils to support his weight, dead as a door knob.
A panic rose amongst the camp as the men rushed into tents to find weapons with which to deal with her. They wouldn't have anything that would be efective against her she was positive of, and if they did her shadow would take care of it well before it became a danger. She moved forward slowly, walking with purpose down the large hill that overlooked their camp and as she got closer she called out to more of the tendrils of shadow. four more rose behind her, poised and ready to strike at her command, and command she did. With a nonchalant wave of her hand they moved forward to go on the attack. Nimbly they slipped into the hole in one of the tents and after a moment a scream rang out. One of the tendrils came out of the large navy blue tent carrying a man coiled in it's embrace. he was writhing and screaming in hopes that something he could do would change his fate. It wouldn't but she gave him points for trying.
"it's not nice to steal from your employers" she spoke to the man as the other tendril appeared with a large barrel. It brought the item out, raising up past the man dangling above the ground, to set the barrel beside her before shooting like an arrow into the man's heart. He barelly had time to gasp in shock before the black razer like tendril slit through his chest cavity killing him instantly. It tossed him to the side like a rag doll before turning it's attention to the next man. Quickly the shadows targeted the men hauling the load, making incredibly easy work of them before piling the bodies up off to the side behind a large bush next to a tree. "Well that wasn't so bad" she said as she checked each of the tents and the large cart to make sure they hadn't consumed too many of the precious resources. One by one she had the tendrils stack the items up so that she could take inventory of what they were carrying. It was a lot, she thought as she got through the third enormous pile. She would probably need to make more then one trip, which she found incredibly unfortunate but nessisary. Money was money after all and she had come too far to ose the chance because of not wanting to put in a little bit of work. Just as she was finishing stacking the last large barrel up she looked back to make sure she hadn't missed anything and saw the area in a new light. The cart, within which she had taken a large portion of the items, was sitting unattended. After a few more minutes she had it loaded and ready to head back to Yuki. Job well done.
