A Bit of Sand in my Shoes

All is silent in the sprawling forest so aptly named Shi no Mori, for the vicious creatures that have made this land famous as a place in which death resides have found something to fear. Yet, to any lucky enough to witness this quiet moment, a sense of breathtaking surrealism would begin to overwhelm the senses. The gentle descent of a dewdrop on a leaf, the rustle of the leaves on the wind. All is calm, all is beautiful. Until the silence is subtly broken. The sounds of the most vicious of villains begins to pervade upon this silent oasis. The crack of a branch, the rattle of a chain. These are the only indications that the one wished for had arrived. The One True Friend of the Flame was ready to return home, and he was bringing company.

"What about Jason?"

Through the burning sands and into the dense forests of hell, a duo trekked onward. The only sound to break the deafening silence was the sound of footsteps, each step like a bag of sand hitting the hard ground. The dark skinned shinobi of the leaf glanced comfortably at his partner, his friend. While brushing aside the branches and bushes that stood in his way, he responded to Kenzo in a soothing voice,

"Jason will be fine. He refused to let me date his mother, so I kicked his ass. When he gets out of the hospital, he will follow in our sand-filled footsteps."

The ninja would vanish from where he once stood beside Kenzo only to reappear at the front gates of his home.

Nodding his head as the male sped off towards the Konoha, Kenzo lifted his hands towards his chest to forming a single Kata.

"Shunshin no Jutsu"

And with that, he was gone.
