The Woeful Angel [P]
Tue Jun 03, 2014 5:50 pm
Xyxer now sat outside one of the many cells that were located within Tengakure. After his return, the empty cells had become quite cramped he had to notice.. A lot of the people seemed to be bloodied and broken too, their eyes flickering at Xyxer, then instantly to the floor like a child being scolded. However, inside one small cell, 2 meters in width and length. If you act like a criminal, you don't deserve to live well; that was his motto anyway. Quite.. ironic, if he said so himself. Regardless, inside of that small cell was a new culprit, one going by the name of Altar. The burlap mask latched onto Xyxer's face, the two eyes of judgement; the angel and the demon, perching neatly inside of the small holes provided. "Acting smart will not get you far, Altar. I've read your files, now, tell me your life your way."

Heh. Locked in a cell. What a fate, right? Here he was, having done nothing wrong, and yet he was caged like a beast. He had simply meant to teach an underling manners and proper respect. How was that criminal in any way? Altar was shook out of his thoughts by the noise. Or rather, lack of it. All talking, rattling, and other random noises had stopped, giving way to an eerie, continuous thud, slowly making it's way down the hall towards him. It took him a few seconds to realize the almost foreign noise. Footsteps.
Altar smirked as he assumed a guard was coming this way, perhaps to see the new bait. Well, they wouldn't have much to look at. Altar sat on the ground, idly twidling his thumbs, until an almost familiar face came into view. Well, not face. Mask, actually. Well, what else could go wrong. Perhaps he was here to give another broken arm? Altar's focus remained on his hands, until Xyxer asked him to tell the long story of his life. That was...unusual. Altar would look up at him, slowly rising to his feet and looking straight into Xyxer's eyes. Intimidation didn't work on him, thank god, or he'd be shivering.
"My life? Odd request for a story, but alright. I was born into a mid wealth family. We had money, but never quite enough. Pleasantries were a rarity. We started being poor when my father decided he wanted to spend his money how he saw fit. So, he took to drinking. He had always been a good parent and a good man, but booze had a habit of changing that. When he was off his ass, which was most days, he beat me and my mother brutally. Then came the day when my mother just shut down. She did nothing but cry, so with a drunk father and useless mother, I had to take care of myself. That was also the day my sister ran away from home. She had never been abused by father, but...what happened to her was much worse. On that day, I carved a dragon into my shoulder, because I had always been the dragon protecting the princess. I had always been her protector. When I could fight off father, that is. Anyway, shortly after, I couldn't take it anymore, so I left home as well. I found myself wandering around, and I guess my newest home is here. It's a shame I have no family left, as I presume my parents and sister are long gone. So there, you wanted my life story, there it is. Satisfied?" Altar would say, rolling up his sleeve to bare the dragon scars on his right shoulder. After doing that, he'd sit back down, awaiting Xyxer's response.

His gloved, leathery hands clasped one another and hung loosely inbetween his knees, listening intently to what the boy with the dragon tattoo had to say. Throughout most of it he was straight faced, perhaps a smirk even surfacing at some points. However, a frown was most apparent when the notion of family life came into play.. Xyxer had had a good one of them; a loving mother, a happy, pleasant father.. an only child. He had achieved his dream of becoming a member of the ANBU for Kirigakure.. The strongest village in the world! Of course, when your life was ruled in a village that was named the bloody mist.. Life did not tend to work out too well. As a part of his training to lose his emotions, he was instructed to.. make his parents no more. Perhaps that was why the boy had grew up to become so twisted, riddled with personalities.. an attempt to hide his own timid feelings, but of course, this was Xyxer. He did not care for that part of his life now.
"Mildly. What I wish to know, is why you felt the need to attack someone from behind their back in front of your Tenkage. Such an act of cowardice and ignorance, did you not expect a repercussion of any kind?" He paused for a moment before he decided to add in, as if twisting a knife, "Did your 'good' parents fail to teach you manners or bravery? Because as I've seen.. If you're a coward and weak, it runs in the family." Of course, he was merely doing this for enjoyment now, he seemed to delight in the anguish of others no matter how small it was, although somewhere deep inside the heart of stone was a small sense of pity. Perhaps he should not leave the child to be mauled by the child molesters that were abundant in these prisons. Getting prisoners to fight after all, was very amusing.
He started speaking once more, his head tilting to one side, "However, your tactics did amuse me, Altar. Attacking someone purely because of a comment, given that you two have not met previously I assume, is highly amusing. It'll get you killed in the future, but watching such events in the youth of today is pleasant. Psychopaths remain even outside of Kirigakure." All the while he studied the face of the young boy, although it would be covered by a veil of shadows for the most of their stay here, although a thin ray of light pierced it to allow him some view of his cell without needing to act blind.

Altar's face grew serious as Xyxer went on. First asking him why he had attacked Goon, going on to insult his parents. Was that an attempt to get at Altar? He smirked a bit at that. He honestly couldn't care less about his parents. In fact, he hoped they were dead. They had served him no purpose, and were terrible to him and his sister. Ah, his sister. She was the only family member he cared about, or had. He'd give anything to have family again, especially her. She could always make him smile, a motion now foreign to the boy.
And still Xyxer went on. Now he changed from insulting the boy, to commending him for his psychopathic tendencies. Well, at least someone understood. Partially.
"First of all, if that 'parents' thing was an attempt to get at me, good show and all, but I hope my parents are dead. Second, I did what I did because the kid was being dis-respectful. And you don't dis-respect me. I didn't expect a repercussion of this extremity, to be honest. I meant to beat a little sense into a brat, and I get thrown in prison with a busted arm. Amazing system. And glad I amused you with my little showing. Everyone likes a fight now and again. Isn't that right?" Altar would say, sitting back and trying his best to get comfortable. While shifting the light would shine for a split second across his crimson eye.

The eyes nestled in the cloth continued to observe the boy in front of him, listening attentively to what he had to say. He replied sharply, "You disrespected the Tenkage when you sought to fight near him. Do you understand how grave of a mistake that is?" He gazed around the alone figure, hidden within the shadows of his confines. "Now you're locked here with the cesspit of degenerates that this village seems to be great at generating and encouraging, where you belong. If you wish for your family killed," He continued, this time leaning forward in his seat towards the boy like a tree that was waiting to topple, "I could quite easily have you return home to find your family's heads. Your mother, your father, your sister and any others you may have."
Now, the figure did pause momentarily as if he was rethinking his words, yet he simply laid back in the chair and watched passively for a few moments. Perhaps there was potential in the boy, perhaps he could harness the murderous impulses of him.. After all, it was a dog eat dog world and those too weak to provoke a savage response would soon die.. Or perhaps Altar would end up being the undoing of him. Only time would tell of his exploits.

Altar studied Xyxer's figure as he told him of what he'd done, what a grave mistake he'd made. How he could arrange the murder of his family, if it was what he so desired. Mother, father...and sister. At that remark, Altar would shoot up, slamming against his small cell. His eyes would flash with his want to murder Xyxer at that moment. His careless grin would transform into a menacing snarl.
"I do not care if I am your underling. I do not care if it is dis-respectful. I do not care what it takes from me, or of the repercussions that will happen. I swear if you touch my sister, I will find you and tear out your still beating heart. If...if she's...even still alive..." Altar would say, before sitting back down and grasping his head in his hands. He was her protector. He had taken every beating meant for her. He had lost emotion and feeling for her. And she had run. Why had she run? Did she...leave him? Betray him? No...no. She wouldn't...would she? Altar would look back up at Xyxer.
"As for my parents, i'd prefer them dead by my own hand. I want them to know as much suffering as they out me through." Altar would say, getting back up and putting on a straight face, looking to Xyxer for his response.

Xyxer studied the boy carefully with each word that slipped from his tongue, and he maintained the same grin that seemed to almost be forged onto his very skin. However, that facade soon vanished when his sister was brought into it.. Clearly, this was the loose cannon's weakness.. One way to make him truly cry. Perhaps he would have to actually set out into finding the female just to spite the boy, but that was an awful lot of work to do on a Genin.. The boy talked about his sister in a high tone, cementing Xyxer's understanding of how manipulated Altar could be by using his sister.
Lots of emotion seemed to be streaming from the small cage he was in, mainly sorrow and absence of hope. Xyxer had became quite acquainted with those emotions, after all, he had inflicted them on people numerous times.. The only difference of those times to this one is how he had inflicted multiple grievious wounds on them, this time it was merely one. He certainly was losing his touch. "If you care so much for your whelp of a sister, why do you not simply track her?" He paused momentarily, "Are you so incompetent that you lose the people you treasure the most?" The last part of that hurt Xyxer somewhat although he did not show it, perhaps he would need to avenge Sameonna and kill Shinji..

Thoughts were bouncing around Altar's head, so he'd barely heard Xyxer's comment. Though, once said, it broke Altar out of his thoughts and into the real world. That comment...had almost made him sad. Memories of his sister running from him, out of fear, came flooding into his mind. It hurt him to know that the only person he cared about in this world saw him as a beast, and not even worth trying for.
"I am not incompetent, and my sister is not a whelp. The last time I saw my sister, she...she called me a beast. A monster. She said she didn't even know me anymore. She ran from me, terrified. She screamed that she never wanted to see me again. As much as I love my sister, I couldn't track her. If she never wishes to see me again, then so be it. I can't hunt her down. It'd hurt her too much to stay with me." Altar would say. He knew that what he said was true, but it still gave the old familiar sting. He had always tried to kill it, but he remembered everything. Coming back out of his thoughts yet again, Altar thought of what a strange situation this was. He didn't even know this man, yet he had given him his story. Now realizing that his story, though gapped of some information, was for the most part complete. So, he would turn to the man.
"Eh. enough of my life. Let me hear of yours, stranger, and perhaps give me your name. You...intrigue me." Altar would say, before waiting patiently for the man to speak.

Xyxer listened once more to what Altar had had to say, it was pretty interesting once you got past the disturbingly romantic relation he seemed to have had with his sister, then again, Xyxer couldn't remember the family bond he once had so that played a factor in his lack of empathy for the boy. Then Altar did something quite weird, he asked an ANBU member who he was and wished to know for his story. Most of the time, Xyxer would simply attack the individual in a fit of laughter before exercising upon them the worst of pains (The worst he could think of anyway). However, he felt somewhat inclined since he had heard his, even behind the shelter of the mask.
"When I was a boy, I had a simple life in Kirigakure No Sato. The-" He broke off when he got to that part shaking his head and skipping a huge chunk of all that had happened, "I was an ANBU, and the Mizukage, Suzaku Shina, had employed a curfew and had me enforce it. So I did. I killed numerous young fellows, I even ripped a girls heart out to spice it up at a bit." He paused once more as if he was trying to recall his history, an attempt to forget it, "I became known as The Demon of The Mist, however, the mantle bored me and was not truly mine.. That belonged to Sameonna, she was the true demon. My mentor.." He broke off once more, frowning at how much information he was giving the boy, "She, however, was also my friend. She saved me from the corruption of Kirigakure and saved the few people I claimed to be friends. She escorted us away, and soon after, the village was destroyed.. Perhaps because of Suzaku's boyish temper and sinister plots. I even picked up a new mantle.. The Abysswalker.." He paused once more as he thought about that, realising that perhaps he should be more careful in his own exploits. "However, your pleasant leader, Shinji. Shinji Uzumaki. He saw to it that I would never be able to engage in a hug with my friend again. He killed my mentor, and as such.." Xyxer stopped once more, looking down at his ANBU sword before unsheathing it momentarily to look at the dazzling silver of the blade, then slotting it back in. "He must pay."He looked back at the boy, wondering if he'd remember the man whom had a fetish for orange juice.

Altar sat, his face remaining, for the most part, neutral throughout the story of Xyxer's life. He seemed to cut off at a few points, perhaps hiding bits of information that wasn't supposed to reach other ears. Altar frowned a bit, but realized that it was his life story to share. Privacy was something that deserved respect, at least that's what he thought. As the story drew to a close, Altar let out a sigh. He yearned to stretch his legs, but he was stuck in this damned cage. He always tried to make the best of situations, but this wasn't a good situation anyway.
"Interesting story, save the bits you didn't tell me. I never actually knew Shinji, however. Takeo is the only Tenkage i've met personally. Oh, and you didn't tell me your name. You know mine, but I have yet to call you by yours. And is there any chance of me getting the hell outta this cage?" Altar would say, getting up and jumping slightly about. He needed some form of activity. If he got ancy, then he would want to murder. Perhaps this man would let him kill another prisoner. Well, he could dream, couldn't he?
