A new Meeting [Kasumi]

"Another grey and dull day in the village...seems almost nostalgic in a sense, well...let's see what today has in store for me," Yaju stated this simply as he looked from the shadows of his cavern, peering into the distance of the village. On this occasion he looked a bit ragged and worn out like he hadn't slept in days or maybe a couple of them, but his eyes were bagged with black and his hair itself was matted and thrown everywhere. He had no attempt in trying to fix it, but as he would make his way out of his home and down the mountain path to head towards the village, the heavy mist that covered the path slowly fixed his hair, but only enough to where it wasn't completely a mess. Walking into the village one would be able to see his full attire, a simple sleeveless red shirt with black outlining, black pants and simple red foot wraps. A scythe shrouded in tattered bandages sat lingering on his back as he slowly walked through the market of the village yawning, making slow turns and waving absentmindedly at those who waved at him. Of course after a while of simply walking around, he settled for sitting under a tree in an empty area of the village to take the time to relax and think about things.

Kasumi stared at her reflection curiously, this morning just had a different feeling to it and she couldn't quiet place why, so she stood staring at herself, as if that would give the answer. Clearly it didn't and she simply tied her hair into her simple braid, not even bothering with her disheveled bangs. Giving a shake of her head she headed out for the day. It was pretty early, but Kasumi loved to walk around the village this early, watching everyone set up their shops for the day, or watching the young children do their morning chores, all with a bit of envy. Such normal lives they all lived... and I'm here learning how to protect them all. 


Giving a small sigh she looked down at herself, straightening her forest green tank top and tucking the end into her tight dark brown jeans, which now that she was looking had a few worn spots in them that showed her pale skin. Her black boots would make their own appearance every now and then when the thick mist lining the path cleared up enough to allow it. Her feet carried her through the village to her 'secret' spot in the village. She simply liked to call it that, since it was fairly un-inhabited and there were a few trees spotted here and there. It was much closer and less dangerous than the Black Forest that's for sure. As she neared the clearing she spotted a figure, unmoving and under a tree. How unusual, no one is ever around here. He was pretty dark looking, dangerous if you would, weapon clearly in view, messy hair... brushing all of that away she walked over to him, bending down to his level and reaching out her hand as if to touch him, "Uhm... excuse me? Sir?" her eyes focused on him, ready for any type of response, be it friendly or violent.

During the time he had been laying underneath this tree he had succumed to a slight nap, his yellow eyes closed and his breathe slowed to a crawl as what was supposed to be a time to think, turned into a time to nap. With his scythe sitting amongst his back he continued to sleep looking somewhat harmless, but in the slightest moment he could jump and attack but the odds of that happening itself were slim to none. As Kasumi stepped closer towards his location, his ears twitched slowly as she moved closer," what's this... ," his body slightly fluttering into life as he opened his eyes and looked at Kasumi confused at first.

Tilting his head he would listen to her words slowly taking them in before he had made a response," Yes?," simple and quick was the key to his answer as he stretched and scratched his stomach slowly, his body waking up quickly before moving to stand up. As he finally stood he would look to the young girl finally taking in her figure, the wolf like eyes of this Master ranked ninja observing her until he had finally decided to ask," Was there something you needed of me?," normally one would not think to simply wake him up from a sleep, but this one must have wanted something from him.

She flinched a bit as the man's body started to come to life, watching his every move intently just in case there was a threat to react to. And by react we all know Kasumi would just run for her life, having no chance of defending herself against someone like him. Yet as he answered her, short and to the point and gave a leisurely stretch and a scratch of his stomach she had to refrain from letting her mouth drop. He was so much at ease! Like nothing bothered him and he was simply waking up in his own bed and had no worry in the world. 

Straightening up her back, as if to show respect. Kasumi met the strangely yellow eyes of the man with steady curiousity and with open honesty she blurted out, "Yes! I was uhm, wondering what you were doing here...", Kasumi shuffled her feet for a moment and looked away, "This is normally deserted and .. uhm... Just wanted to say welcome?" Kasumi was internally kicking herself, what an idiotic thing to say. Welcome? Its his damn village! She continued to stare at his shirt as if hoping it would make her less awkward.

"Yes! I was uhm, wondering what you were doing here..."

For a moment Yaju pondered on these words for a moment, trying to think of a response that would fit the situation rather than his usual blunt comments. Taking the situation from both sides he would shrug for a second before answering the young girl," Came here to relax and think for a bit.....then i ended up falling asleep. After that ...well here we are," pretty simple answer for a simple question or at least he thought so, no one was judging him on his small answer. Simply looking into her eyes made him wonder what was going on inside of her head, but didn't cause him to actually ask about it due to looking at her shuffling feet...maybe she was nervous?

At any rate, he would have continued to look her up and down before attempting to answer her next question or rather statement with a proper response this time, even taking the time to give her a bow before smiling," There's no need to be so nervous around me little one, i am simply just a fellow villager for the time being. Also is there a thing on my shirt that i should be aware of," taking the time to look himself over he didn't see anything, but with his eyes he wouldn't mind finding out.

She backed up a step, giving the man room to bow to her, easing a  bit at the smile he gave. He couldn't be to bad could he? She felt he was giving an honest effort to put her at ease, and hearing he was indeed part of her village gave her more comfort. I mean, she has met strangers before but that was different.. Giving a small shake of her head to re concentrate herself she focused on some of the last words she heard.

... i am simply just a fellow villager for the time being


Her eyebrows came together in a mix of confusion and worry as she contemplated what she was going to say next she moved closer to the tree, leaning back against it in a quick thought 'pow wow'. She looked up at him,continuing to notice the great height difference. "What exactly do you mean, for the time being?" her tone was idiotically challenging, as she waited for her response, she crossed her arms giving an almost air of authority and seeming to switch the roles of power in their group.

What was once a calm expression turned into a small laugh as he looked down to the girl, not out of disrespect but amusement. Questioning what he had meant nearly made him fall over onto the ground and laugh uncontrollably, but keeping his composure he would cough for a moment before looking off into the distance of the Black Forest," Secret confidentialty stuff...you know secrets and all that junk," not one of the best answers he could have given her, but it was a simple answer. In fact he would be able to give her a bit more," Well... I travel a lot through the villages and i also do...well village maintenance in the village that we are allied with," not a lie and not the full truth, he would hope this girl would be satisfied with the answer...if not then he would have to try a different angle.

Kasumi relaxed her shoulders, laughing along with him for a moment before her mind began to race in thoughts. He was hiding something and she could feel it. He knew she knew too. She could also tell he was trying to evade actually answering her. Giving a small sigh she slowly walked around the man, checking out the weapon on his back and taking note of any previously unseen weaponry he had on his person. While Kasumi was for justice and pure of heart she could never stop herself from wanting to revert back to her day of thievery.

Her eyes flashed up to his, "Village maintenance huh? How very curious... so, you kill criminals?: I was a wild guess but she had this vibe from him.

Yaju kept his eyes on her...or more so his ears on her as she walked around him, his stance never changing and his posture remaining calm and neutral as he smiled," Not just that...dealing with other matters like missing ninja, paperwork, tending to the academy," pausing for a moment he would remember the other details," also training teams and monitoring that forest over there," pointing towards the black forest he would turn to Kasumi and pin his eyes on her for a moment. She was asking some specific questions, but he wasn't going to "openly" lie to her...no he would instead give her pieces of the truth instead of the whole lot. Although...this girl was smarter than she lead on which had also been taken into account for, but for now he would let it slide and go on with the conversation.

As she rounded his figure she was almost back to where she had started he pointed out toward the horizon, her eyes averted and followed his finger as it landed on her forest. Well not HER forest, just.. her place. Her eyes widened a little bit as her memory flooded with the events of only a week ago when she ran into that stranger in the woods, had he seen? Quickly diverting his attention she decided it was the most natural to talk about the academy.

'So you tend to the academy? I haven't seen you around there.' She glanced at the floor at his feet before snapping them back up to his, her finger mindlessly slipping into her weapons pouch and pulling out a kunai to spin on her finger, her tone completely serious. After a few moments of staring at his, 'trying' to intimidate him she let out a small giggle. 'Ah Im just teasing, you check out.'
