Salzem Walked into the training yard, with a teacher following behind him. He turned to face the teacher who stood in front of the training dummies. The teacher gestured for Salzem to move closer and he did so, but only slightly. He did not wish to be closer to anyone than he had to. The teacher looked at Salzem and smiled.
"Today, you will be learning the Art of Transformation." The teacher said. Salzem perked up at that. A new jutsu? Sweet. Salzem wondered how this worked. He had never spun a successful jutsu before. The teacher put his hands together in the basic seal used to channel chakra.
"Now," he said. "Follow my hands closely, and memorize." Salzem did and as the seals were being cast, he identified each as in order as the Dog, Boar and Ram. When the last seal was complete, the teacher chanted "Transformation Jutsu!" before being enveloped in a burst of smoke. When it cleared, Salzem saw himself standing in front of him. It was a flawless representation of himself except for one thing: his mask was gone. Salzem stared into the eyes of his clone and they did not hold the murderous gaze his did. This puzzled him for but a moment before remembering his purpose here. Another burst of smoke enveloped the teacher before he returned to his natural form. He held out a hand, gesturing to Salzem for him to try. He put his hands together in the seal as the teacher had done. As he did so, the teacher spoke.
"Now, try to focus your chakra. Let it flow through your whole body." Salzem did so, attempting to focus his chakra. It was difficult at first, but as he focused, the chakra came easier, flowed quicker. Salzem nodded at the teacher, requesting the next step. The teacher nodded his head in response.
"Now, try focusing on an image. A person you have studied before. Perhaps the Hokage or a friend of yours?" Salzem thought that last suggestion was funny in a bitter sort of way. He had no friends. He settled on his father as the person he would transform into. He focused his chakra, making flow while at the same time, picturing his father in his head. Dog, Boar, Ram! 'Poof!' He was enveloped in smoke When the smoke cleared, he stood before the teacher. He seemed to have gotten a bit smaller. Wait... He got bigger! The teacher's face showed one of congratulations and held a small hand mirror to his face. He had gotten his father's face almost perfect, except is eyes were still a shade too red. Salzem released his focus and another cloud of smoke poofed up around him. He found himself back to normal, breathing mask and all. The teacher smiled at him and put a hand on Salzem's shoulder and squeezed it lightly.
"Congratulations, Salzem. You have passed the test. Now, how about some ramen, hmm?" Salzem's belly rumbled at the suggestion of food. He had spent this morning training and his father and had no time for breakfast. Salzem nodded in silent thanks. The teacher led Salzem to the restaurant, no idea that Salzem was smiling under his mask
