Questions (Yaju)

Arata didn't know much about loss. There was the time he had lost his favorite ball in the park but then he had found it again. Of course, it was never the same ball and the fact that his mommy had conveniently found it on her way home had been suspicious. His ball hadn't been brand new, it had been old and had mud streaks from the time he'd taken it out and played with it in the rain. But mommy had tried and he didn't want her to know he guessed that she had brought a new one. Ninja were supposed to be good at hiding things and Arata didn't want to tell her that she was not a very good ninja. So when Yaju spoke about loss, the six year old could understand it in bits and pieces. Yaju-sensei had lost a friend and you couldn't buy a friend at the toy store. He had lost something that wouldn't come back.

"My mommy always says that it only takes a little bit of light to make the darkness go away," the boy offered, hoping that would comfort his teacher in a way. "When I was little," he added, clearly implying that he was no longer little, "I was scared of the dark and mommy used to do her light jutsu for me to use as a night light. And the light always made me able to sleep. You should get a bit of light and keep it close by too and then you won't have to worry about the dark." The child's words were simple, he saw the world and told on what he saw in the words he knew, but if the words helped the Raikage find a meaning then he would have done something good.

At the news that he was going to be a big brother though, Arata's dark eyes lit up with excitement. He hadn't wanted to celebrate just yet after hearing the nurses, preferring to get the truth from his teacher's own mouth, but now that he knew, the little boy jumped off the couch and flung himself at his teacher in a mixture of a hug and a tackle. "Yay!" the child squealed happily from on top of the blond male, his laughter ringing through the room. "I'm going to be a big brother. Will I have a brother or a sister? When did the stork bird come to you? Will the baby have a mommy? Can i hold him or her when they're born, pleeeeeeaaaase. I promise to be real careful." The words flew out of his mouth one after the other as he pumped his little fists into the air, unable to believe that there would soon be a tiny baby little baby that he, Arata, would be responsible for looking after.

"Have you told mommy? Because I didn't..." the boy added, halting mid laughter as a small frown crossed his face. "I think we might need her help if there's going to be a new baby."

It was amazing how one so small could instill hope into someone older than him, though the way this generation was growing up it only meant that those children would become the sword and shields of the people. It wasn't often that this rough around the edges Raikage would smile, but in the light of his young student he found it almost impossible to not do so. Ruffling the childs hair lightly he would shake his head and chuckle," I wonder when it was that you became the sensei here Arata. You're getting a bit too wise for me to handle, but i guess it means that you are simply growing into your own. Which might I add is going to be good for this village and if you aim higher the world," if he was one of the many that could reshape this world, then why not give him the training he needed.

One moment he had been standing there looking down at his student and the next he had been tackled to the ground after telling the young tyke about his son, which in all honesty was going to be one of those hard moments for him. All he could do at this moment was simply laugh and shake his head as he answered the childs barrage of questions," Yes you are going to be a big brother. As for what its going to be, most definitely a boy as strong and wild as your teacher," he paused for a moment to share a small laugh almost immediately sitting up and placing Arata beside him as he continued," As for when the "stork" came and visited it was awhile ago, and yes he will have a mommy. She should be asleep upstairs so lets be quiet alright. Oh and you can hold him only if you are careful," it was a lot to take in that soon he would be a father, though he promised himself that once he did, he'd be a better father than his and strive to correct the wrongs that he went through in life.

At the mention of telling Akihana about it, he paused and tilted his head slowly before blinking," I think I need to talk to her about this...Because I know nothing about raising a child..," at the sound of hearing himself say that he looked back towards the clock and sighed knowing that soon he would have to go to do some things," And its time for you little cub to head back home. Though since you asked about the new chakra inside of me I guess i'll show you something new i can do. Lilia if you'd like you can go ahead of us," if the older fox agreed he would pick up Arata and put him onto his shoulders as he walked out of the house, closing the door behind him.

After the two exited the cavern, he would look to the sky which at this point would be relatively clear," So I am going to need you to hold on a little tight, but once we take off you can move a little but not too much okay?," as he spoke a pair of black wings would sprout from his back and soon the two would be in the air flying back towards the residence of Akihana. From the sky the village looked so beautiful, his home that he had worked to make sure had been happy and lively looked to be in a state of peace...but as he knew this would never last as someone would always try and attack. Shaking his head he would simply continue to enjoy the flight," Now I see why you dragons enjoy being in the sky...this is invigorating. Though I think i'm going to do this more often," of course the small comment made the great dragon laugh before falling silent.

After a while of flying he would land softly outside of the home of Akihana and sit Arata down slowly onto the ground," So if your mom asks where you went today just tell her I came to pick you up for some training, oh and tell her that i'm having a child....Knowing how that's going to go I am expecting to see her very soon," after saying his goodbyes he would take back to the sky and head back home where he would finish up some stuff and then head to the office.

Arata chuckled lightly as his teacher told him he was the sensei. How that had happened, the child didn't know but it was a compliment so the little boy took it in good grace with before his eyes opened wide when Yaju offered to show him something cool.

"Whoa," the dark haired child let out an appreciative whoop as the Raikage grew wings. 'How'd did you-" he didn't even have a chance to finish before he was swept up on the man's shoulders and they were of, flying through the air. "This is awesome!" the child exlciamed as they flew above the village, the entirely to kumo laid out like so many precious jewels under them.

"She won't ask," Arata nodded, sure that his mommy wouldn't' think he had left the house in her absence. "Well, not unless Lilia tells her but she won't." Waving goodbye go his mentor, the child walked into the building, heading straight for the stairs and ignoring the elevator. Today had been a good day.

As Yaju slowly came to a land, he would look about the area for a moment before smiling, his yellow eyes taking in the most simplistic and gracious form of his village," Ya know Arata...one of these days if i pass on the mantle of Raikage, how about i fully train you to become a ninja of this village? Of course you'd need to talk to your mother first, but after that we will go from there alright?," he wouldn't wait for the boy to respond before ruffling his hair and watching as he went towards his home, his head tilting to the side as he wondered if the boy will ever notice the slight burden and what life after being Raikage would hold for him and if his child would come out like Arata in some way.

Without much to stay for he would wait until the child had disappeared into his house before launching into the air and made his way back towards his home, but before then he would stop at the office for a moment. Shortly after five minutes of flying, he landed on the window seal of the office and opened its window to let himself in without anyone knowing. With this he simply walked over to his desk and sat down with a sigh, a single thought in his mind- the future. Sure he could remain as the Raikage until he was old and grey, but with a child on the way he would have to play father, which could get in the way of his duty as Raikage.

Heaving a small sigh it would be a heavy decision that would have him asking one being in particular," What do you think....Should i live the ordinary life of a father or try and balance it all?," of course the dragon would only huff for a moment before responding," Human lives are fleeting and you worry about the wrong things....You want to be  a better father than your own then do what you believe is best," with that he could only chuckle recline into the chair. His answer was an uncertain one and yet he was given exactly what he needed in order to make his decision.
